horrible customer service by a snooty 30ish-40ish year old female employee there. not sure if this is a manager or not (hopefully not). but i will NEVER purchase from this store which is a shame because the manager (or owner), is a very awesome older middle aged gentleman... my advice to him; fire her, she's the definition of toxic and is probably costing the store a great deal of money.

SOKO Outfitters is one of our favorite stores to visit when in Cedar Rapids. They have high quality brands for outdoor active clothing and gear. Clothing for active lifestyles tends to be very rugged and comfortable. Great selection of bags and and back packs.

Heather was very helpful! I was very unsure about a pair of boots. She did some online surfing and even gave opinions from other people's feedback. The environment at Soko is just very friendly, will be back again!😁

SOKO Outfitters is the go-to place for all your outdoor clothing, activity and accessory needs. They offer premium well known brands to local high quality brands all fairly priced. The employees are wonderful, intelligent and knowledgeable on recommending places that fit your liking wether hiking, kayaking, SUP’ing and more. Chad is an amazing guy highly recommend speaking with him on most all questions or recommendations. SOKO offers kayak and SUP rentals. Grey Duck paddle boards of various sizes for the appropriate paddle boarder at any level. Life vests, paddles and boards are all in great condition and clean. The shop you can find probably most if not all your outdoor/indoor needs. Highly recommend. Will end up leaving with a smile and happy on whatever purchase small or large. Out does any other outfitter shop out there.

This shop is great. The staff is super kind and helpful. They seem to really know their products. And have an amazing selection of camping gear in stock and ready to go.

It was a granola place with all outdoorsy stuff. It was cool! I however probably would rarely need anything from the store as I am indoors gal! I loved the vibe of the store and it is located in the Czech village which is a hip cool place to walk around to check out. If you are camper, hiker, biker or just love the outside this is your place...

How many times have you ever been to an outdoor outfitting store only to find that the employees have as much experience in the outdoors as your typical Eddie Bauer catalog model? That's the worst. Not here! The employees at this store know what they are talking about. They have hiked, skied, snowboarded, backpacked, camped, kayaked , canoed, you name it. Not only have they done it all, they are excited to help you find the right kind of gear to help you do it all. The store is very well stocked with everything you could need to explore your world. They have all the major brands as well as numerous local brands, as well. Plus, they have speakers and events to increase that sense of community. This has now officially become my go to spot for when I need any kind of outdoor gear.

SOKO Outfitters definitely fills the high end outdoors niche Cedar Rapids was missing. They've got everything you need for your next adventure, whatever it may be, from all the best outdoor brands you can think of. Let's not forget the indoor climbing wall either. Matt had a blast scaling the wall on two of the more advanced routes, but it's perfect for climbers of all level. (Ahem, parents - no brainer babysitting while you shop!) If you aren't ready to purchase, they offer a limited selection of gear rental for seemingly reasonable rates. We're hoping to stop back by and rent a kayak for the day. We recently visited as part of a Yelp event and got to hear from the owners and staff. They are clearly passionate and knowledgeable about the lifestyle and seem to have big vision for bringing adventure to our doorstep here in Czech Village. Bonus: if you're looking for an adventure buddy, be sure to inquire about their special events, including hiking, biking, and movie screenings!

I've been to SOKO twice now and am so happy Cedar Rapids finally has a place like this. It's more than just an outfitter store - it's an experience. The staff is amazing and want to help you find the perfect item you're looking for. They want you to try it out, give you their experienced advice, and make sure you're happy. We've been missing a place like this for...ever. Bonus: rock climbing wall. It's SO FUN. Where else can you shop, hang out, and rock climb?! Check this place out - you'll be glad you did. And the customer service is so much better than a chain store. You can also find *great* deals on high-end brands if you check out their sales racks.

If you're an outdoor person you like hiking, running, camping, skiing or even fishing, you name it they have the gear for you. They are complete gear shop for all the activities. I had never been to soko before before this event. And I like being outdoors... I guess I am going to recommend and publicize about them for a while. #buyLocal #connectwiththecity this is the good place to be attracted with their rock climbing I had never done before but the owner helped me and made me go to the top. And I was confident. I was happy. Thanks Yelp for introducing me to them.

What a great store! SOKO carries super high quality gear. The climbing wall (for anyone over 25 pounds) is super fun for kids and adults. It's $5 for 2 climbs or $10 for a day pass. It's only open on the weekends, though, so don't get the kids excited about a Wednesday night climb or anything. Clothing, climbing gear, tents, kayaks, they've got it all. It's so nice to have something like this in Cedar Rapids!

Very cool store with anything you need for a trip or if you just want some nice near clothes. The prices are extremely reasonable even if the price tag might make you jump, this store only sells quality items and brands that will last a very long time.

Great place. They carry local and unique brands and everything you need for all your adventurous needs. They carry a huge selection of staple brands (like north face and Patagonia, yeti and hydro flask) but most importantly to me they also have unique items that other stores don't carry. Exceptional customer service. Definitely worth the drive from Iowa City! They even have a rock wall!

I went to SOKO Outfitters for the first time earlier this year and it was AMAZING! They carry a lot of brands that I love to satisfy my inner VSCO girl with- Patagonia, Fjallraven, HydroFlask, etc. The staff was SO helpful as well. It's such a clean and inviting place! I love everything that SOKO Outfitters stands for. I'm going to start kayaking and hiking this Spring/Summer so I'm excited to see what they have to offer around that time!

SOKO was amazing. Went to try and rent kayaks and were told we could but we'd have to take them ourselves - which i wasn't prepared for which is OK! Not a big bummer - the company is gearing up to do a launch sometime soon to help out with those who don't have the gear available to take the kayaks down to the river and back up to the store. No biggie. The guys were super knowledgeable and so friendly. Very thankful to have stopped in. Got some pepper spray for my keychain, a new top for my water bottle and some awesome stickers. Loving all the gear and the place is so clean and easy to get around and explore.

My family and I just had an amazing rock climbing experience with Paul! He was patient and encouraging with us. The store had amazing high quality gear. I highly recommend you check it out!
