"With doors open at 10 a.m., this pastoral estate’s tasting room is often the first stop for hardcore wine tasters out for a day in the valley. Susan Sokol and Bill Blosser planted this vineyard’s first vines in 1971, and the winery is still largely a family business: Alex Sokol Blosser, Susan and Bill’s son, runs the company, and Robin Howell, who’s been with Sokol Blosser since 2012 and was instrumental in establishing the winery as a sparkling powerhouse, heads up the winemaking side. Sokol Blosser’s wide-ranging selection of pinots is impressive, as are its fun blends and sparkling wines — not to mention the extensive food program. Sokol Blosser is another hot ticket, so it’s best to reserve or call ahead for availability. Sokol Blosser is open daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m." - Zoe Baillargeon, Brooke Jackson-Glidden

We were excited to visit a winery in the Willamette Valley area of Oregon as we've heard such good things about it. We chose Sokol Blosser as our spot of choice. The location, facility, and the wine itself were excellent, but our entire experience was marred by the attitude of their sales associate with the initials L.D. We visited on Monday, May 19th at 11:44 am PT, Order #906863. For lack of a better word, L.D. was downright snobbish to our group of four, and had it not been for a chance encounter with the day manager on our visit, I, unfortunately, don't recall her name, I'd rate our visit with one star. The manager was pleasant, inviting, engaging, and the very image and vibe a winery such as this should exude. I'm glad I have the memory of our conversation to mask the disappointment and impact of our sales associate. We tried repeatedly to be polite and conversational with L.D. and we were treated as unwelcome. The Bluebird Cuvee Sparkling, Orchard Block Pinot Noir, Rose of Pinot Noir, and Willamette Valley Pinot Gris were all excellent and our group enjoyed the wine very much. Hopefully, L.D. was just having a bad day and isn’t negatively impacting others the way she did our group. If in this area again, I'd be tempted to see how a second experience would go, but then again many of the other beautiful-looking wineries in the vicinity might be more welcoming and accommodating. After all, there is more to life and business than just wonderful wine.

Sokol Blosser is a family favorite! Kids and dog friendly! Staff is warm and welcoming! We have been wine club members for years and LOVE their wine pick up parties! Not to be missed!!! 5 stars!!!!

Google
HUZZAH! We have been looking forward to visiting for years ever since our parents introduced us to this winery. We were thrilled to learn well behaved dogs are allowed outdoors and suited up in our warmest options to explore this delicious experience (visited in early November). Beverly was so helpful with our initial questions on the web form and we knew we were in good hands. After a blunder that was completely on our part attempting to reschedule for an earlier time the same day, the lovely person at the front desk (apologies we did not get their name) and Sarah (who was our incredible and knowledgeable server) were able to adjust our reservation and crank up some heaters outdoors for our visit. We were beyond delighted by the view and couldn’t believe how cooperative the weather was during our visit - we even removed a layer! 😂 Every single person we encountered was delightful - from the staff to the barn cats to the other guests - it was such a treat to chat with and learn from so many great folks! We met a couple from Phoenix and shared our experiences and excitement! Our only regret is not getting more bottles to bring home with us - we won’t make that mistake again! Thank you to ALL - those we met and those we did not - we are grateful for your works and can’t wait to visit again! Our tripod pup bids all a fond adieu until next time! 💜

Excellent wines. Recommended the watershed block estate Pinot noir and the pinot Gris was really surprising good. You can’t go wrong. Ask for Daniel, he is really nice and knows a lot about local wines

Google
One of my favorite wineries to visit in Willamette! Sokol Blosser is always at the top of my list when checking out the valley. The views are so beautiful and the tasting room is stunning. The wines speak for themselves - the whites, reds, sparkling, and rose. Make sure to try the popcorn!! The butcher board is also amazing and a perfect match for the wines. Be sure to check out this family owned property - you will be glad you did!

Google
Love the wine, love the architecture of the tasting room, love the service, surprisingly love the food, and most of all, love the property and views.

Google
Sokol Blosser has a great story, beautiful view, and good wine. We ended up ordering a Butcher Board, and it was quite substantial. Every item on the board was delicious. The tasting is 4 wines, plus you get an extra pour upon arrival. Our experience was enjoyable, and we will return. It is right off 99W, so easy to find. If it's Friday or Saturday, wear your patience hat when leaving. Take your time getting on to 99W.

I am currently on a European cruise around United Kingdom. One of the wines in our premium 8 bottle package includes Evolution. I have experienced Evolution for many years but it tastes even better while sailing.

Kathy L.

Yelp
Wonderful wine tasting experience. Beautiful setting, wonderful wines, great nosh. Highly recommend stopping here if you're planning a wine tasting in the area. Staff is accommodating and lovely.

Jamie W.

Yelp
What a gorgeous property! We even stayed a bit longer just to wander around a bit and take some pictures. Our host (Liberty) was so hospitable and friendly. We could tell how passionate and knowledgable she is about the wine and the winery itself. Our visit was very early on a Friday (10am), so there were not many guests. We sat out on the patio and got to enjoy the beautiful weather, the wine, and each other.

Tanya D.

Yelp
We experienced a gorgeous summer afternoon in Dayton @ Sokol Blosser. The birds were chirping while we tasted the Cellar Club Flight outside under the sails. The charcuterie was ample and tasty. Sokol Blosser

Allen C.

Yelp
This place was meh. Came here twice but just didn't hit the spot. The wines tasting set in 18 or 24 wasn't my jam so maybe it's yours. The scenery is cool. Outside seating is nice. Summertime would be good to check out.

DM C.

Yelp
So this was a winery I was excited to visit as I have been a fan of their Evolution Lucky No. 9 for many years. I had high expectations and they did not disappoint. The winery was beautiful and all staff we encountered were very friendly and knowledgeable. We had our tasting in the original tasting room. Had a red and a sparkling flight. All very good. We ordered the charcuterie board - OMG it was perfect for the tasting.

Maya P.

Yelp
Elena was a fantastic host. We did multiple tastings among 6 people and even got to try some off-list wines being offered. Our group ended up ordering 18 bottles and are going back for more (I'm sure). The beautiful tasting room among the vines made for a wonderful catchup with our friends.

Kennan K.

Yelp
Architecture is where I begin this review. Modern. Angles. You walk up and see the earthen covered roof top. Slanted back to maximize the skyline intake. It's kinda cold looking, like maybe you are walking into a caved hillside. So well Designed you want to enter. That feeling immediately sheds away when you enter. The walls lined in wood planks. Floor to ceiling. You are greater with a warmth. The wine is everything PNW has to offer. Your Pinot Noir bell will be rung. The service is amazing. Everyone is there to ensure you maximize comfort. Free seasoned table popcorn to start. The two bonus splash pours are something wineries need to get back to. We, the customer, are there to taste. Show me what you have!! Oh, the view! Gosh! Evergreens and grapevines. Far as the eye can see! With a small heard if cats to sneak in and grab the photo moments you wanted! Love this spot

Trina H.

Yelp
The staff, the wines, the property and the snacks are amazing; making this one of our favorite wineries to visit! Perfect for a solo tasting or a group. We've been outside in the back and inside and both experiences are great. An unpretentious winery that's wine far exceeds a few of the "big shot, whose who" neighboring wineries. You feel at home here and will walk away feeling full of wine and knowledge about why you liked what you liked. It's great to learn about the wines in a more casual way, no snobbery just a great experience! We are highly addicted to their popcorn and the whites the server suggested to go with them, yes wine and popcorn pairing for the win. We saw a pairing dinner underway in a private room and we look forward to booking one of those experiences. Everything smelled amazing, their chef is a great addition to the space.

Lynn S.

Yelp
Had an amazing wine pairing with food that was artful and delicious. Much care went into this preparation. We ended up buying a case of wine. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Even if you can't splurge on Farm & Forage, go for a glass of wine and a pizza from their outdoor oven. Be sure to walk around. Beautiful place.

Mariko K.

Yelp
The tasting room is really nice, with a great view, but it's very echo-y so it gets loud with just a few people. Service was good. I didn't like any of the wines I tried in the tasting flights both times we visited (pretty heavy on the tannins).

Steve C.

Yelp
Recently rennovated, we did the tasting and learned that 2021 was a good year for the pinot noir grapes. We drank and shared a few different flights. I decided to get multiple bottles of the Mount Richmond Vineyard 2021pinot noir (our host really sold it well), which in fact I'm enjoying now as I write this review. It's young, as they say, but good and I'm not sure if it will age well, but I intend keep one bottled for some time to open later. Remember that you have to reserve a time for the tasting.

Karla M.

Yelp
Had a delightful experience with our tasting reservation and enjoyed the tour provided by Sebastian, one of the resident felines. We appreciated how Sokol Blosser's tasting room is set up so that most tables have a view to the well landscaped area around the building and don't leave you feeling like you're sitting on top of other patrons. While walking around outside and checking out the landscaping, I could see the plants chosen would provide a nice display as often as nature allows during the different seasons.

L. A. M.

Yelp
We were able to visit Sokol Blosser on a relatively quiet sunday afternoon. Reservations are required, but are very easy to make and change online. The staff greeted us with wine at the door and we were pleasantly escorted to our table. The wine is delicious! There were two flights to select from. Each member of our group chose a flight to their own tasting. The server was professionally balanced going between different flights and was lovely and conversational while educating us about the wines. The foods available went very well with each wine tasted and, as each member in our group had dietary restrictions, we were not disappointed in the gluten free and vegetarian options. Also, try their new aperitifs. The aperitif spritzer is very refreshing! Thank you very much for a lovely time!

Lori L.

Yelp
Everyone at Sokol Blosser was welcoming and attentive. There are several great spaces for tasting. The outdoor covered patio was perfect! An enjoyable wine tasting experience .... And not too technical but informative. Would definitely return and recommend!

Jeff J.

Yelp
Always a great experience when visiting Sokol Blosser. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. My favorite part is the fire oven pizza to pair with their wine in the summer, out on the patio. It's always a must stop on our way to the coast! Plus they have great wine club options and discounts for members; I love sending family and friends wine for the holidays all across the country. You should definitely come experience Sokol Blosser Winery!

Sheila H.

Yelp
Sokol is my magic place in Oregon wine country. Phenomenal whites, champagne, and a view that will fuel you while you enjoy locally grown and made cheeses, fruits, and meats.

Donna D.

Yelp
The absolute worst winery we've ever been to. We live near Napa Valley, so know winery experiences very well. We have never been treated so badly. We were told without a reservation we could purchase a glass of wine and "you can sit on the patio and enjoy the views". That's what we did only to be asked to move to the gravel parking lot which they consider a "patio" where there are unkempt tables and no umbrellas. While "enjoying the views" a diesel semi truck upon backing up hits the chairs next to us. Now we're "enjoying our glass of wine on the patio" with diesel fumes to pair with our Pinot. We called it the lepper section!! Unless you have a reservation to sit on the real patio with the real views, do not bother!!!!! Horrible experience.

Andrea D.

Yelp
Gorgeous location, architecture and ambiance. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Perfect for a quick stop by with friends, a fat night, event, or more. Even lived the wine so much I shipped a bottle to my boss who lives in AZ

Frank K.

Yelp
The wine was OK and the snacks were OK BUT, you had one lady trying to handle 6 tables, three people behind the bar cleaning glasses and drying them. Two other employees standing beside the bar going over paperwork, two people outside setting up chairs for an event THE NEXT DAY and our group of 5 getting two snack plates, eating them and never having any wine to pair with the snacks. The one person who was trying to handle all the tables was flying around the place but, there was no management supervision to get her assistance or even pay attention to guests. Employees, leaning and joking and giving two hoots about guests who paid for an experience. Well we had one, it was just sad! Go to Domaine Drouhin, Domaine Serene or Cristom. Better wine and they actually care about the guests.

Kevin S.

Yelp
Amazing Farm and Forage experience! Chef Jonathan and our host Brittney did a fantastic job welcoming us and taking us through the day. It made our birthday celebration very special. Chef J is very talented, creative, and approachable. The courses were out of this world delicious and the wine...did I mention the wine? Great results on the pairings and dug into the cellar for some really special vintages. A wonderful day and experience all around.

Aaric U.

Yelp
Listen people, you don't have to be a fancy pants to enjoy this winery. The service is exceptional ALWAYS. If you you've been before and have a favorite person...you'll soon have a new one and that's ok because the entire staff is lovely. They seem to be exceedingly focused on one thing though. That focus of offering hospitality that makes one feel special like family is consistent and wonderful. I never knew how many varietals I would enjoy. The food is great too. Have you ever wondered what the trick is to sabering a bottle of bubbly? Now I know how and this staff is just full of surprises! I don't recommend an experience with Sokol Blosser Winery...I prescribe it. Epic in close.

Amy W.

Yelp
Attentive, knowledgeable staff, excellent charcuterie boards, and other snacks, variety of seating areas. The two members spaces are especially cozy.

Mandy N.

Yelp
The wines are amazing. The tasting room is beautiful and Charlie provides excellent customer service.

David M.

Yelp
We liked the tour and cheeseboard. Not sure why they call it a butcher block. Wines were ok for us. We liked the library wines better. Family owned and very nice employees. It is worth going.

Sallie C.

Yelp
Best stop on our visit to the Willamette Valley. We splurged for the Farm and Forage experience and it did not disappoint!! Definitely worth the money. The food and wine were extraordinary and you won't need another meal that day. Highly recommend!

Geoffrey R.

Yelp
We did the Farm and Forage food and wine pairing and it was exquisite. The food was inventive and amazing and the wine choices were wonderfully thoughtful. Everyone involved was helpful and fun. We had an absolutely divine afternoon.

Heather B.

Yelp
We had bet been here in a while and we missed A LOT. The tasting room is gorgeous with amazing views. We unfortunately had lunch reservations and didn't get a pizza, but it looked great... we will know for next time not to go elsewhere for lunch. Everyone found something they had to take home. We got a follow up text from Sarah, and that was just the added customer service that is pushing us towards a membership. Thanks to Liberty, our flight attendant- it was a great time.

Tim C.

Yelp
We enjoyed our wine tasting experience at Sokol-Blosser so much. Charlie was extremely knowledgeable, thoughtful, and a lot of fun to speak with. The wines we tried were fantastic, as was the charcuterie board. The facilities, and history of the vineyards and property, were amazing. It was wonderful of Charlie to offer us a very insightful tour of the beautiful vineyards. Thank you Sokol-Blosser for a wonderful wine experience.

Sally R.

Yelp
Sokol Blosser is a must stop when I'm driving through dundee! Excellent service and stunning views from anywhere you sit. Their food menu is delicious and unique, and the tasting room itself is a sight to see all on its own! Would definitely recommend, i've never had a bad experience here.

Selena C.

Yelp
I'd enjoyed Sokol Blosser wine for years prior to visiting the actual winery. When I finally visited the tasting room, I loved the ambiance and distinct feels to each separate area and became a club member that very first visit. I've been a club member for a couple years now and had a great experience every time I've been back. We've brought friends and family and everyone loves the beautiful grounds and fantastic wine. Sokol Blosser has a nice food menu including wood-fired pizzas in the Spring and Summer. Even if you don't order food, the free popcorn offered to visitors is addictive due to their special spice blend and the welcom bonus pour is a really nice touch. Every staff member has been friendly and helpful but Elena is the absolute best--she's so warm and knowledgeable and really makes your experience.

Chris C.

Yelp
A frequent user of reading reviews, less likely to leave a review however... The esthetics of the winery, on point. Hospitality, not so great. With so many wonderful wineries and staff less than a mile away this leaves a lot to be desired. Areas of opportunity: Interacting with the wait staff felt elitist and unwelcoming (no reservation = step aside and asked to sit at a picnic table in the back of the parking lot) Poor communication, would have appreciated someone who is kind and willing to give some general direction. Welcomed the thought of buying a bottle and enjoying the views, not anymore. Pros: Greeted by a dope ass orange cat. Other vineyards also exist within a mile of each other where your patronage is welcomed.

Monica S.

Yelp
Lovely experience overall! Great variety of still and sparkling wines, the staff was knowledgeable yet fun, and the view was gorgeous. I recommend popcorn too - it's a great pairing with the bubbles and chardonnay.

Debby T.

Yelp
I became a member last weekend. I went wine tasting here for the first time on a Sunday, with my daughter, it was her 22nd birthday. It was amazing. We had a bubbly flight, charcuterie, popcort, beautiful view, and knowledgeable staff. I will be coming back often. Great experience, great wine!!

Eloise Y.

Yelp
Sokol Blosser is the best! I've been a wine club member for years, but I would still recommend them, even if I weren't. Their wine never disappoints and the staff is friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. If you're in the area is is absolutely worth a stop!

Aaron D.

Yelp
We've visited many wineries in the different Oregon AVA's and none have compared. Each time we end up commenting on the other wineries as being nice, but not as nice as Sokol. The wines are great, the tasting rooms and atmosphere are fantastic, and there is nowhere with better service. The staff are always so welcoming and are what really make the experience. If you've not been, I would highly recommend you make a reservation to experience it yourself.

Tamara C.

Yelp
This winery is situated on a lovely hillside and they had several socially distanced tables set up with large umbrellas also situated under one of the magnificent old oak trees, and on a very warm and sunny afternoon full of wine tasting this was the perfect place for our last stop of the day. My girlfriend Jeannie J. is a wine club member here so we were entitled to one complimentary glass of wine. We both selected the sparkling rosé and it was lovely. Very crisp and effervescent. We were both very pleased. We were also absolutely famished as it was nearly 4:00 pm and we hadn't eaten since breakfast. We selected the charcuterie platter, that was mostly for me but of course I shared. Jeannie ordered the mac n' cheese along with a plate of popcorn. I had no interest in trying anything she had ordered. The charcuterie platter was divine. Jeannie wanted to try one of the hard cheeses as she doesn't care for the more aromatic soft cheeses which I adore. In the warm afternoon sun the charcuterie platter was the perfect amount of foot to satisfy my hunger and then some. I ended up not being able to finish the platter and had it boxed up for a late evening snack. As I was the designated driver, I couldn't finish my wine in good conscience and let Jeannie have it. Next visit she shall be the designated driver and I will indulge myself in all that this superb winery has to offer. 2021 - Review # 7

Joyce W.

Yelp
We always enjoy our wine tasting experience at Solol Blosser!! The staff are very friendly, helpful and always make us feel welcome. The charcuterie board and popcorn were wonderful. Love the view from the cosy upstairs tasting room. Our favorite winery to take friends.

Judi H.

Yelp
The highlight of 2023 was our visit to Sokol Blosser Winery. It's a long way from Tennessee to Oregon, but our time here as part of an Oregon adventure was memorable. We have been fans of SB for years and years, and have been impressed with the continued high standards and quality. The grounds are beautiful, the people are fun and friendly, and not enough adjectives to describe how good the wines are. If you find yourself anywhere near, please stop in. And by all means, if you are far away like I am, order cases of wine!!!! In fact, we rang in 2024 with the incredible Bluebird Cuvee

Kerry M.

Yelp
I have been a member since 2017, and genuinely enjoy every visit (as well as the wine!). The location is beautiful, the architecture is stunning, and we love the various areas to sit in including the cozy basement and outdoor patios on a nice day. the staff is always super helpful and a nice balance of being present and informative and letting you enjoy your experience with your company you are with.

Eileen K.

Yelp
When we moved to Oregon several years ago, this was the first winery we chose for membership. Consistently over the years, their offerings have been outstanding and our tasting experiences have always ended in our purchasing something wonderful. The intimacy and beauty of the property, along with the service excellence, also impresses us each time. Last week we celebrated an anniversary with the Farm & Forage dining/pairing experience. It exceeded our expectations--the food was just so yummy and memorable we took lots of pictures so we could remember! Praise to the chef Jonathan Jones and the whole team.

Katya L.

Yelp
Sokol Blosser is one of my favorite wineries in the Willamette Valley, both for the wines and for the space. The new tasting room is gorgeous, midcentury-modern in design with an expansive view over the hills and large windows to let in the light. It's airy and clean. The wines fit the tasting room as well (or does the tasting room fit the wines?) as they are lovely and clean-tasting. The Bluebird Cuvee is one of my favorite bottles (and relatively reasonably priced) but there hasn't been a single wine I've tried that I've disliked. Everything is well-tuned and pleasant. The snacks are a nice accompaniment to the wines. We typically order some charcuterie and olives, which is the perfect snack while sipping on some vino. When in wine country, Sokol Blosser is always at the top of my list.

Julie B.

Yelp
I love this winery. Everything from the grounds to the product and the service is considered to make the experience above par! The staff are very attentive to your needs and the wine is excellent. All of the seating areas are great and provide a different experience.

Syndance D.

Yelp
We had a great visit with my daughter and her friends. The staff was great and the pizza was amazing. The new look of the outdoor seating was amazing and we loved the sails to sit under. Looking forward to visiting again soon.

Vera G.

Yelp
An absolutely amazing experience! 2 serene tasting rooms with impressive architectural design, tucked away in the hills of a lush vineyard. The staff was knowledgeable and accommodating, and truly have a passion for wine. I purchased several bottles and plan to purchase more for the upcoming holidays. Check out their new Bluebird Boxes!

Jessica R.

Yelp
I like this place so much I became a member. Unfortunately I don't live in Oregon but lucky for me I get my club shipments regularly. I'm very impressed with their wine and their bubbles. Their tasting room is gorgeous and the staff is always friendly whether it be in person or contact via email. Whenever I am in Oregon visiting I make sure to visit the winery. I can't wait for my next shipment and my next visit to Sokol Blosser.

Kim G.

Yelp
The new tasting room is gorgeous! Inside and out. Lots of warm woods, clean lines, floor to ceiling windows, a total mid-century vibe which I just love. There are tables along the walls which all offer spectacular views of the gorgeous vineyard. There is also a large bar if you want to mingle with others. We enjoyed the Reserve Flight which started with a delicious sparkling rose of Pinot Noir. Perfect way to start our day! Followed by 4 Pinot Noirs. Our server did an excellent job telling us about each, explaining how their names were selected based on where the grapes were grown in the vineyard. We shared a cheese plate and popcorn while we sipped our wine and took in the picturesque views. Great hospitality, gorgeous views and fabulous wine! Sokol Blosser is a must stop vineyard when you are wine tasting in the Williamette Valley.

Jillian S.

Yelp
We spent the most beautiful day here this Spring and had the best service and experience. The wine was amazing and the views were spectacular. We definitely took home a few bottles as well, and will definitely be returning if we're in the area in the future.

Lauren M.

Yelp
Fantastic winery and service. We went over the holiday weekend and sadly I was nursing a hangover so I had skipped my tasting while my husband enjoyed his. They were so accommodating to me and didn't make me feel bad about canceling last minute. The wines I did try were so great that we left with 3 bottles. Such a beautiful tasting room. Can't wait to go back

Mat H.

Yelp
Pretentious and unwelcoming. Didn't bother trying the wine. We are very into high end wines but I would rather drink 2 buck chuck than endure the snobbery we encountered here.
