We were excited to visit a winery in the Willamette Valley area of Oregon as we've heard such good things about it. We chose Sokol Blosser as our spot of choice. The location, facility, and the wine itself were excellent, but our entire experience was marred by the attitude of their sales associate with the initials L.D.
We visited on Monday, May 19th at 11:44 am PT, Order #906863.
For lack of a better word, L.D. was downright snobbish to our group of four, and had it not been for a chance encounter with the day manager on our visit, I, unfortunately, don't recall her name, I'd rate our visit with one star. The manager was pleasant, inviting, engaging, and the very image and vibe a winery such as this should exude. I'm glad I have the memory of our conversation to mask the disappointment and impact of our sales associate.
We tried repeatedly to be polite and conversational with L.D. and we were treated as unwelcome.
The Bluebird Cuvee Sparkling, Orchard Block Pinot Noir, Rose of Pinot Noir, and Willamette Valley Pinot Gris were all excellent and our group enjoyed the wine very much.
Hopefully, L.D. was just having a bad day and isn’t negatively impacting others the way she did our group.
If in this area again, I'd be tempted to see how a second experience would go, but then again many of the other beautiful-looking wineries in the vicinity might be more welcoming and accommodating. After all, there is more to life and business than just wonderful wine.
