Söl'ring Hof

"You would be hard pressed to find a better location. When you ring the bell, the white gate opens and a cobbled driveway leads you to the beautiful thatch-roofed country house, which is enthroned on a dune at the edge of Rantum – sensational views of the North Sea guaranteed! The upscale interior is decked out in a Nordic style that combines elegance and cosiness; the charming and professional service does the rest, including excellent wine recommendations from restaurant manager and sommelière Bärbel Ring. Take a peek into the kitchen, where Jan-Philipp Berner's team puts together a creative set menu using only the best – preferably regional – ingredients, not to mention the delicious snacks before and after." - Michelin Inspector

We highly recommend this lovely hotel, overall the stay was perfect. Communication via email to book the room was easy and courteous and helpful such as making dinner reservations. Upon arrival, the front desk staff was tremendously polite and courteous. Our room was spectacular, words do not do it justice. Fabulous view from the window to the west, plenty of amenities (drinks in the room - beer, wine, water etc., two types of robes, gourmet snacks) that are thoughtful and helpful. The room was spotless and the nightly turn down service did a great job and should be commended. The grounds are delightful and the beach just a short stroll away. The breakfast was a delicious *feast* and the staff beyond polite and thoughtful. Dinner in the restaurant is a must, we enjoyed it very much. Overall, we were just thrilled by the fabulous service, clean and spacious room with great views, and the breath-taking location. This hotel exceeded all of our expectations and we plan on returning. We hesitate to write such a glowing review as we think this hotel a "hidden gem" we would like to keep to ourselves!

After hearing only positive stories about this wonderful restaurant, we decided to give it a go ourselves. The amazing experience started only seconds after our arrival as we were enthusiastically greeted at the entrance and our car was taken back to the parking lot at the bottom of the hill without us having to bother about it (and after we finished dinner it was right there again, waiting for us). We sat in the room furthest away from the kitchen and therefore quiet-perfect for us! The dinner was refined, haute-cuisine as promised with outstanding service. We both enjoyed the truffle menus and have had enough truffle until the next season ;-) What a pleasure to come here and indulge ourselves in excellent food and outstanding service. Thank you Söl'ring-Hof!

Everything started with the booking. Excellent communication, very friendly and obliging. On arrival the Rolls Royce waited for us with an absolutely friendly driver. Check in was great too, personally welcomed by the Hotel owner and staff. The room, smallest category in the Hotel, was very very cute and totally supported the Hotels ambiance. Homemade cookies, Sherry and drinks in the room. Main reason for my stay though was the 2 Michelin stars chef Johannes King. Delightful menu in a very familiar atmosphere, impeccable service by the staff. The Hotel also has it's own smoking cafe/bar, so no need to freeze outside. On day of departure we got a lift to the airport again, of course in the Rolls Royce. We definitely will come back.

we returned to the söl'ring hof after some years with our two little girls for easterholidays. it was the perfect decision as everyone (staff and guests) were so familiar and friendly. our meeresmaisonette was perfect with a nice view to the beach and the sea. as the weather was great we enjoyed our time in the strandkorb while the girls played in the sand. outstanding breakfast in the morning!

A truly exceptional hotel both in terms of service and in terms of accommodation and restaurants. From the moment of arrival to the unfortunate time I had to check out, the stay at the Soel'ring Hof was just outstanding and one of the best stays I have ever had. Rooms are extremely well appointed and full of small, personalized amenities which show the care of the hotel team. The restaurant is simply excellent and the fact that you can order Cristal by the glass, are pampered by beautiful presented Amuse Bouche to the fresh, local produce that is used by the culinary team to prepare the truly innovative menu you will be completely satisfied. Yes, the restaurant (and the hotel) are not inexpensive but for what you get, it is all worth it. The location of the hotel is prime, and a private walkway from the property leads straight to the beautiful beach of Rantum. What amazed me most was the attention to detail by all the team members which is something you do not find in many hotels these days. Everyone in the small team is obviously very proud to work at this hotel and it shows in the way you are treated - this hotel shows what hospitality is all about and one wonders why not more hotels in the world can do what the team at the Soel'ring Hof has done. A true pleasure to stay at this hotel.

We went for a dinner to the Soerling's Hof during our summer stay in Sylt. The restaurant is part of a lovely, 5* hotel frequently visited by German celebs. As expected, the chef came out before the dinner to greet everyone, which was very nice, but you already know this is going to be an expensive experience :-) ||We have chosen the 5-Gang menu which turned out to be a very sophisticated set of dishes in a exquisite arrangement. There was a lot of different tastes in each dish, a proper gourmet delight. ||The service was overwhelming, which was the only thing that I thought was a bit too much (other than the final bill) - one person for the water, another for bread, one for wine etc. Don't get me wrong, the service was in fact impeccable, but they just make you feel very, very special and for my liking just a bit uncomfortable at times. ||Overall, definitely recommending to connoisseurs of food and wine with deeeeep pockets.||Enjoy!

This refers to the „Kamnibar“: We had a lovely time at the bar for some drinks before our dinner. Since it was fairly early when we got there and people were flocking into the restaurant, the staff was quite busy in welcoming dinner guests, so we had to wait at the bar for a moment. However, then we were taken care of by Johannes King personally and turned out to be the perfect host - very hospitable with a good spirit. He looked after us perfectly, provided a complimentary refill later on and made us feel super welcome! ...can only redommend!

My wife and myself stayed at the Sölring's Hof to celebrate our first year of mariage. We book a package called kulinarische Woche which included 5 nights and 3 wonderful dinners . Amazing! |The wine card is huge but the prices are really high. Even single wine glasses are expensive. |Nevertheless highclass hotel!!|

Yelp
We stayed at the hotel and as part of a package deal were able to have dinner at their restaurant on two of the three nights. One evening it was a three-course meal and the second evening a four-course meal. Without going into excessive details, we were most impressed with both the hotel and restaurant based upon their service. We did have the issue of one waitress having a bad night (my theory) but I won't dock the restaurant for this unpleasant experience we had one evening. Further, her poor attitude on that evening was far more than remedied for by the chef who came out and made sure our displeasure was perfectly compensated. The food is as you'd expect it at this price-point. Visually as well as on the palate, all top notch. The ambiance of the restaurant is also very elegant without in any way being stuffy. It also reflects well on the location at the top of the dune and on the island. The menu itself was very creative on both evenings and definitely is heavier on the fish and meat. My wife, a vegetarian, wasn't as impressed with the dishes she received but I won't dock the restaurant. (As a passionate meat-eater, I actually wonder whether you can even get to the level of cooking I expect in high-end restaurants without including meat!) Nevertheless, I really enjoyed my food and the wine selection was also extensive and approachable. You can go super high-end but there is plenty on their with acceptable pricing. I would consider this a restaurant where I would go for special occasions. Unless you're rolling in the dough, your wallet won't tolerate it too long neither. For that birthday dinner or anniversary, etc. a perfect splurge. I'd even go so far as to say combine it with a stay at the hotel. This very much complements the dining experience. One way or another, we'll definitely be back to enjoy both the restaurant and the hotel.
