Yelp
2/4/24 Sunday 3pm.
Expired Yelp check-in, see picture. The manager honored it, thank you.
Quality/Quantity -
Came here for Happy Hour, like many of the other people here, but they did NOT honor it... See picture. We stayed, but the other couple left. Then another couple that came in also asked about the happy hour and when they were told none on Sunday, they left also. Please take down your sign or improve the verbiage for all of us to understand it better.
We got the rotating local selection - Sierra Nevada Hazy IPA. This is local??? This is from Chico... Anyways, you can never go wrong with a Sierra Nevada or two.
Complimentary chips - These were good also. You can tell they are made in house. Two salsas; bean and regular. My buddy and I both liked the regular. See pictures. Too bad we were both so full that we were only able to eat two chips each, well they are huge, like street taco tortilla size each.
Coconut Calamari - SPICY, well the sauce is spicy. This was done well. Wanted something light as we will be eating good tonight, well every night while we were here!
In summary, the food and drinks were 5 stars.
Atmosphere - Restaurant was fairly empty. Good size both tables and bar.
Open 7 days a week from 10am to 10pm or 11pm.
Service - This was where the miss was.
The first bartender must have been having a bad day...? Shot down immediately that I was NOT here for the happy hour, week days only. Again, see picture. Then I showed him my Yelp check-in and after reading it for a minute or two, he said he had never seen this before and was not sure what it was. And it is also expired. Then, he finally flagged a manager over and I explained to him that it was a Yelp check-in. He said because it was expired it would not work on the computer anymore and they could not honor it. I said I understand.
A minute pause later, he then said he was going to honor it, 5 stars! Good business move. We could have just left just like the other customers. I can only take so much rejection, lol.
Lastly, a new bartender came on shift and was so much more positive and supportive. After another customer left because of the "no" happy hour, I showed him the picture I took and he went right up front to check it out. Hopefully they took down the confusing sign. It surprises me when companies spend so much $$ on advertising and getting customers in your business, that it is so easy and quick to just shoot them down and let them leave. The people here for the superbowl are ready to spend $$$; don't you want more/some of it???
Cut and pasted from your website; your sign outside your restaurant should have read the same:
"Happy Hour specials starting at $8
Thursday 2/8 - Sunday 2/11
3pm - 6pm"
Price - $20 + generous tip.
Owner Comment - Congrats on your success and your 7, soon to be 8 locations. Congrats on your success at this location; this location has gone through many businesses, I want you to succeed. Your food is good, you just need to improve your "communication."
