Really interesting visitor centre. The Mullet peninsula has such a rich history I wasn't aware of. Great food in the cafe too but most importantly it was the people I met that impressed me the most. Fergus in the visitor centre is a mine of information and is so generous with his time. The women and girls in the cafe were so kind and helpful and great craic too. A wonderful place.

We have been visiting this area annually for a number of years so it's great to see this new addition. The food in the cafe is good and reasonably priced. We had already visited the Blacksod light house so had spent 25 for a family of 3 only a short while earlier. Spending another 25 did seem a bit steep. Particularly as a family of 4 is 25. A price for a family of 3 should be considered. I would suggest a discount for a combined admission to both attractions. Our 7year old liked the light house videos but one or two other interactive displays would be great for younger kids. Perhaps even a colouring table with pictures of lighthouses/old cottages etc. It was a pity that the craft shop was tucked away at the back as I'm sure many people miss it. We would revisit the cafe again and would encourage others to visit Visitors Centre.

What appears to be a relatively new addition to the many interesting places to visit in this area. We were doing a coastal drive and simply happened to find the visitor centre at just about the time we were in need of a morning coffee. We weren't disappointed. The self guided gallery tour was very interesting and certainly gave us more insight into this area. Would recommend.

Lovely cafe with really tasty good quality food. Desserts are all homemade and to die for. Really scrumptious open sandwiches and home made soup

Great little cafe with wonderfully friendly staff.The food was perfectly cooked and homely,the price of the breakfast and lunches was very reasonable compared to a lot of places today and well worth the money. Celia in particular looked after us very well.There are toilet facilities for all and the museum and shop is well worth the visit. Bring some cash as their machine cannot take tips and I would bet you will be tipping.

Very good talk from Fergus Sweeney - found it riveting as did our American guests and we were particularly interested in his direct connection to the DDay landing weather forecast from the lighthouse

Plenty of parking spaces. Very welcoming. Extensive breakfast and lunch menu. We were served quickly and welcoming. Got busy but people got served quickly Would highly recommend the bap and scrambled eggs. Toilet facilities were very clean and accessible. Items for sale hats , jewelry, chocolate books etc from local manufacturers reasonably priced. Visited the exhibition that was very reasonably priced entry fee. Good insight into the local history We were also treated to a very exciting tractor run while we were there. A great place to visit and will hopefully visit again soon

Visited Solas today. Have driven past a few times tho. Def worth a visit. Very interesting;; staff lovely and informative. Food in cafe looked good and we had great fruit scones. Highly recommend and we will be back definately, but for longer as there is so much to see.
