We came for one night and we loved the location right across from the beach. The first room was Clean and bright but the neighbors next door were noisy. We asked to switch rooms and they said sure! The bed was comfortable the products AVEDA in bathroom were wonderful and the shower worked great! What more do you need? I will stay here again! Their choice of coffee was excellent!

Google
Sole East Beach Hotel truly exceeded my expectations. The location is absolutely unbeatable- just steps from the beach, making it incredibly easy to pop over for a swim or catch the sunset. You can literally hear the ocean from your room and feel the refreshing sea breeze throughout the day. The rooms are spacious and thoughtfully laid out, offering plenty of room to relax after a day in the sun. The beds were exceptionally comfortable—some of the best sleep I’ve had while traveling. Despite being right off the main street, it’s peaceful and quiet, giving you the best of both worlds: convenience and relaxation. One of the standout aspects of our stay was the new management. You can really tell they care, everything felt updated, well-maintained, and the staff were incredibly attentive to every little detail. From check-in to check out, the service was warm, helpful, and professional. Highly recommend Sole East Beach for anyone looking for a relaxed, beachside escape with all the comforts of a boutique hotel. Can’t wait to come back!

The manager, Thomas, initially offered us a room at one price, but later returned and claimed there had been a mistake. He attempted to triple-charge us. During this process, Thomas was rude and dismissive, showing no concern for our situation. He told us that if we didn't like it, we should leave, and then hung up on us. This is not how any business should operate; we have never experienced such unethical treatment. We will never stay here again and recommend that everyone avoid this property.

I stayed at Sole East Beach for a weekend while in town for a wedding. PROs: - Clean, relatively spacious rooms with all expected amenities - Great location right next to the beach and town CONs: - Very understaffed which delayed check-in and led to confusion over billing at check- out. The front desk hours are not clear. - Still uses physical keys instead of an electronic card, leading to further delays. Antonio was the main staff person there during the weekend. He was fantastic and so kind, but clearly was not being served well by the hotel’s management and software.

Do not spend your money here. Please go elsewhere. It is filthy, not hygienic, and absolutely disgusting. My room was so musty and everything felt soaking wet and damp. There was blood on my roommates towel and the air flow from the AC was terrible. The staff as well was not available 23/24 hours of the day. There’s no one at the front desk to help and they did not have towels or toilet Paper to give us extras. They said they couldn’t give us extra pillows either. Please spend your money elsewhere. $500 for two nights isn’t worth it. The only thing is is that it is near the beach and and bounce club, but that’s it.

Stayed in room 101 last night. Only thing they have going for them is the walk to the beach. Receptionist was nice but not nice enough for us to overlook the 3 dog pee stains on the rug, rug was super wet when we got there (and during the whole stay). Meaning they tried to clean it but failed and still decided to put us in the room. I get it’s dog friendly but just because it’s dog friendly doesn’t mean I should have to go to sleep to the dog above us barking and getting woken up by it. Once that dog started it never stopped. Idk I hate leaving bad reviews but for the price I paid and the pictures on their website, I expected better

Google
sole east resort has a stellar reputation, but the beach property is a complete nightmare.||The rooms at the motel were an all day/night rave - with about 12 boys blasting music with a strobe light - and their door open - until 3am. we complained multiple times and the situation persisted.||The lack of security was appalling. the front desk was never staffed. Bongs, weed, and empty beer bottles with left outside our door. This was supposed to be a pet/kid friendly location, but these items were just left open for the taking - or for animals / children to ingest. Not to mention it invites unwelcome, non-guests. It was a total safety hazard and just simply disgusting - especially considering the price.||We never would have stayed here had we known it was a party hotel for 18-21 year olds.||You need to disclose that this property is an entirely different experience and not up to the same standard as the resort. And prices need to reflect that. It’s wildly misleading to even share the same brand name, as the two properties are not AT ALL the same.||Additionally, the AC unit did not work. The room remained at 80 degrees the entire stay.||On our last night, they offered to relocate us via text, but it was far too little too late. Since leaving, I have yet to receive a call from anyone attempting to rectify the situation.

I would say a little bit pricey for the hotel (~800 usd) for 2 nights on the last summer season week on Columbus day-> long weekend. Just stayed with my wife at sole's beach. Unfortunately, this establishment is under neglect. they haven't put any updates or money into this place since their initial renovation some 15+ years ago. Very disappointed in our room. Literally no Art or decor on the walls, Luke warm showers at best. Bathroom door would not actually close. The TV would not shut off flatscreen literally the size of a laptop we had to pull the plug every night. Our "one" Adirondack chair Was rotted and broken. The list goes on and on...The positives: great location to the ocean beach (30 yards across the road) The maid service was very good they always kept the room extremely picked up and tight. The beds are very comfortable. Unfortunately, whoever owns this establishment needs to shut it down, renovate + update their fake posh look they are going for. They are currently running on empty. When we checked out they couldn't even give us a receipt because their computers weren't working and they could've cared less " just leave the key on the table" never even looked up. total disappointment never staying here again. Yelp
We stayed at Sole East Beach this past week. Pros: -perfect location to the beach -close to town and restaurants -close to the bars -inexpensive for a last minute stay (we booked it 8 days in advance) -lovely deck area to sit outside on Cons: -receptionists could not have been less pleased to see us or help us -found lost items under bed -dirty towels!! We asked for clean new ones and they were not feeling it -we extended our stay a night but they lost our reservation (we were able to stay but still irresponsible) Overall, we enjoyed our trip but there could be improvements to make our stay more clean and hospitable!!

Yelp
Forgot to mention I had to flush the toilet with a bucket. So, you also have that to look forward to.

Yelp
This is for Sole East Beach (not the sister location up the road) PRO: near the beach. CON: The owners evidently could care less about this property. Where to start? Multiple broken power outlets, light out at the room door (so you fumble to unlock your room at night), bathroom door that wouldn't fully close (!), very weak flushing toilet, "hot" water that was lukewarm, no hooks for their low quality towels, uncomfortable mattress, rusty noisy heater unit from the Paleolithic Era, janky little icebox, and the front desk had no extra towels! (I've never been to a hotel where that was an issue). I realize this isn't a luxury hotel, but come on, people.

Yelp
One of the worst experience in Montauk. At midnight there are young kids parting outside sounds like they are in our room. We called the front desk to tell them and they don't answer. During the day they are hanging out near the room and Not wearing a mask to prevent virus. Beer cans all over property. Doesn't seem they are any management on premise. We won't stay here again.

Yelp
DO NOT STAY HERE. They have zero compassion. We had to cancel our trip the day we were due to fly to NY because my son tested positive for Covid. I kindly asked for a full refund of my deposit since Covid is completely out of my control. Sadly they said no and kept referring me to their 14 day cancelation policy. I'm bummed I didn't think to check the reviews of this place prior to booking because from the looks of it this place is terrible. Save yourself the headache and book elsewhere. SHAME ON YOU SOLE EAST BEACH!

Yelp
Just stayed with my wife at sole's beach (motel) on South Emerson. Unfortunately, this establishment is under neglect. they haven't put any updates or money into this place since their initial renovation some 15+ years ago. Very disappointed in our room. Yelp
This place is a shit hole. Booked a king size be got a double. One key only. Online check in says 3pm. Wouldn't check us in until 5 pm. The beds are shorter then normal. Only one staff members out of three we encountered were nice. DO NOT BOOK HERE. make this your last option. And expect garbage.

Yelp
I'd give zero stars if possible. Following a July 4th weekend stay, I checked out and was told I was good to go. Three days later I checked my credit card statement only to see a $600 dollar charge from Sole without any prior notification. When I called the hotel, assuming this was just a mistake, I was told that there were "damages" to the room. When I asked for further explanation, knowing that these accusations were entirely false, the manager told me to go deal with my credit card company and refused to provide any documentation or evidence of any damage. I proceeded to deal with my credit card company, disputed the bogus charges, and was rightfully reimbursed. For anyone reading this review - I would AVOID staying at this hotel AT ALL COSTS.

Yelp
Do not stay here. The staff is horrible and does not value their guests. The service is non-existent, the rooms are not clean plus it is expensive and over priced. There are so many nice places to stay in Montauk. I recommend looking for something where the staff is nicer and more responsive.

Yelp
The positives: it's in the center of town and 30 seconds to the beach. Negatives: the shower didn't drain, the toilet barely flushed, the fridge didn't work AT ALL, the vending machine didn't work. The cleaning lady came into our room even when we had the 'Do Not Disturb" sign up. We were told that the place was pet friendly, so we brought our dog. Not until we arrived were we told that it would be an extra $100/night for him to stay. We didn't really have a choice at this point. This place is overall a god damn joke. Don't stay here.

Yelp
Terrible experience. The short fat manager could not have been more rude.. stay away for this place

Yelp
Azaria is awesome... so is the food from Chef Eddie. Great care is given to providing great service and an invigorated palate. The cavatelli is sublime. Took me back to nonna's kitchen. Really great setting. Takes all the stress out of your bones at Solé. Add a carafe of the Hot-Tauk and take your shoes off. Curl your toes. A very hidden gem.

Yelp
So disappointed, we were supposed to go out to this place on Sunday but as we were getting ready to leave my husband passed out and was rushed to the ER, he was admitted into the hospital. I called this place to see if I can reschedule do to this terrible situation as well as sent an email. I called numerous times and eventually go a manger who told me that they will credit me to come back in off season even though I rented the room 4 days before coming. I paid high season price and a room was available the following week and they wouldn't even entertain that. Their attitude sucked. I told them I have discharge papers to prove our terrible situation. Fortunately my husband is doing better but this places customer sucks. It that's and indication of how they treat people with a real problem god only knows how they are. I called my credit card to tell them this situation, I am disputing this bullshit.

Yelp
I was very, very happy with my time at the Sole East Beach location. Clean room. Big bed (even if it was a bit firm). Clean bathroom. Decent flat screen tv w/ more than enough cable channels. Water pressure that could knock you over in the shower. No problem with hot water at all. Great location. Half block to beach entrance or two blocks from the center of town. Ability to use the sister locations amenities (more of a drive than walk). I think this was quite important as the people at the Sole East location do not even get to park at the Sole East Beach location. Now I do believe we seemed to have the most problem free room at the Sole East Beach motel. Upon arrival there were LI electrical trucks up and down the street and a number of locations were having problems with electricity. I am not sure what kind of widespread problem this was but for a while only two rooms in our hotel had full power. Ours, thankfully, was one of them. Our friends' room didn't have full power and to make up for it Jessica, who seemed to be a property manager, offered free drinks at the Sole East location. This was all a good 3 weeks before the season would be starting so we were very happy to be taken such good care of. I liked both locations but I think I will continue to stay at the Sole East Beach location for the proximity to the town, the beach and because I can easily use the Sole East amenities when/if I choose.

Yelp
Best brunch in the Hamptons! Lovely Sunday brunch with live music at outdoor tables by the pool. Wonderful setting. Great food. Delicious mimosas. Fantastic service. The owner greets customers and ensures their every need is met.

Yelp
Great location horrendous service. Was told the management left key in room. When we got there we were locked out. Next day we locked ourselves out. The office was not manned at 5pm and when we called we were told someone would be there in 5-10 min took over an hour. Person was rude. We were late for dinner reservations. No face towels left after cleaning and again no one at office Sunday am. This all for $250 per nite. Never again

Yelp
We had an amazing stay. The property is magnificient, the staff is so accomodating and the rooms are clean, spacious and very nicely decorated. The amenities on the site include a yoga platform, lovely seating areas with fire pits, recreational spaces and walking trails. It is lush and private. The restaurant is one of the best in Montauk. Portions are generous, the seafood is incrredible and fresh - local caught. There was a wedding the weekend we stayed and it seemed like the perfect venue for it. All in all we love the resort.

Deb L.

Yelp
If I could give zero stars I would. Please don't waste your hard earned money on this hotel, Sole East Beach. It is run by people who do not care about their customers. If you have a problem and try and speak to management, they simply ignore you since they have your money. There are plenty of other place to stay in the area. Do yourself a favor and do not step foot on hotel property.

Yelp
I am quite content with my stay last weekend in Montauk at Sole's East. The rooms are a bit small but you are not in Montauk to sit in the room but rather go out in to town or to the water. The room was clean, the bed and pillows were comfortable and I really appreciated that there was a small refrigerator in the room so that we can go buy drinks and beers early on in the day and have them cold later on after walking through town and stopping in at a few restaurants and bars. Sole's is across the street from the water and it is a short walk and once you reach the water, it is simply breathtaking. The shower had great water pressure and they supply their patrons with Aveda products in the bathroom in case you forgot yours at home. The flat screen tv is a little small but once again, you don't go to Montauk to sit in your room and watch tv. I really liked that there was a wooden lounge chair outside our room because it was really awesome laying back in the chair at 2am feeling the most awesome breeze and hearing the waves crashing not too far away. If I was ever to go back to Montauk, I would definitely consider staying there again. It was definitely a nice short get away for my birthday with lots of delicious seafood and drinks and fun was had by all.

Yelp
Last week me and my family stood at the Sole East Beach on Emerson Avenue. This was our third straight August stay at this spot. This is not the Waldorf or Trump Towers and the amenities are usually what you bring with you. All that aside, this motel is ideally situated across from the beach and is a short walk to the restaurants, shops and pubs in the village. The rooms are clean and there is wi-fi available.Parking is OK as the motel allows you to use an adjacent empty lot in case the main lot is full. The prices are, well, no more obscene than any rival motel in town during the summer. Any way, mainly because of it's location and convenience to the rest of the village I think the Sole East Beach is a suitable / OK place to stay. For those on a budget, 'Watch Your Wallet' g.

Yelp
Had a great experience. Perfect location and proximity to the beach and town was ideal. Helpful staff and clean comfortable room. They accommodated our large group and our many requests (late check-out, extra night etc) very well! A little pricey for the amenities, but you are really paying for the location.

Joanna W.

Yelp
This is not a hotel that makes good on its exorbitant rates and claims to be a first class accommodation. the rooms are spare, have no closets, and are maybe 1/8' apart from the room next door. The linens are far from luxe, the beds are no better than a Holiday Inn. The lobby level rooms are dark. Basically it just feels like camp. I wasn't planning on going to camp when I made my reservation. Their Beach hotel is even worse. If it means that much to you to follow the hype, by all means throw your money away. There are extremely clean, bright, spacious accommodations right on the ocean -- which is where we ran away to just to be out of that place. Of course, they wouldn't give us any deposit back.

Yelp
I was listening to Memory Motel by the Rolling Stones and thought of the Stingray Motorlodge. Memory Motel is also a motel nearby. The Stones wrote the song while in Montauk. I played the song as I wrote this so I could deliver the best possible review! My family stayed here on our annual family trips on the island for a good 4 year stint in the late 80's, early 90's. Some of the best years of my life. It was a standard little motor lodge. They had cable. We didn't at home so that was fantastic. Scarface's video for Money and the Power played on Yo! MTV Raps. My brother stepped on a carpet nail that protruded from the ground by the door. He needed to get a tetanus booster. I did not fault the Stingray for that, I faulted my brother. He probably should have been watching where he was walking. Montauk is a beautiful place that sits on the very tip of Long Island and deep in my heart. Well Stingray, "You're just a memory, of a love that used to mean so much to me" and "It's been a lonely night at the Memory Motel."

Yelp
Enjoyed our stay very much owner was so nice! Rooms were clean! Had an enjoyable time especially because you can go over to the solè resort then is only a mile away and enjoy their pool and fire pits!!

Yelp
I just returned from a stay at this hotel with my wife and two 10 month old twin daughters. In the middle of the night I felt a bulge in my ribs and grabbed an object and tossed it on the floor. Once I awoke I checked to see what it was it was a small container with marijuana inside of it. I brought this to the attention of the desk upon check out and they said they couldn't do anything. They said a manager will be in touch. No phone call or email returned. After a few days I had to reach out multiple times to speak to someone about this. The management lives out of state and does not reply. I spoke to the manager on site that had to play middle man in communicating with the owners who would not call me. They decided they weren't going to do anything about it and didn't take it seriously. Not only does it show they don't care about their customers but also that the rooms are not properly cleaned. What if my daughters got a hold of that and put it in their mouth? What then? I might also expect this at a local cheap motel but not when a room costs $400/ night. I would expect clean sheets and a management team that actually cares about people. I would advise to stay away from this place due to the dirtiness and terrible customer service. Keep your young children away from this place.

Jessica D.

Yelp
I have to admit that what I read before I got to the hotel (purchased the room in advance on a whim) freaked me out, so everything good was a welcome relief. The room was wildly overpriced for a normal place (maybe the face value was $75 max) but if you consider what hotels in the area cost, it was a fine price ($300 including tax) and because we did not come by car, the location was perfect, one block from the beach and one block from town. No complaints, I would stay there again. I was grateful for clean beds, small fridge, and a decent hotel room. If the weather had not been as amazing I might have felt differently, but it was also nice to know we had access to the resort, even though we didn't take advantage.
