Another Victim of ‘Oppressive Rents’: Tapeo Will Close This Month | Eater Boston

"A sibling spot on Moody Street in Waltham that remains in operation and also features tapas, offering a similar Spanish tapas-style experience to the now-closed Newbury Street location." - Rachel Leah Blumenthal

Solea was ok. The dishes were really hit or miss. The tenderloin, broccoli fritters, roasted vegetables, and shrimp were all good. The paella was ok - seafood was tender but I feel this dish didn't have a lot of flavor. The jamon iberico was bad. Super chewy. The service was ok, nothing standout.

The service was a bit slow for a Friday night, but the food was absolutely delicious! We ordered the ceviche, chicken empanada, mussels, Brussels sprouts, and roasted cauliflower. Each dish was fantastic! The drinks were wonderful, too!

It’s pretty darn good. Some dishes definitely shine more than others, but over all we had an amazing experience here. The paella were massive and can definitely feed 2 if not 3 people easily. We got the chicken and chorizo and the seafood paella and each were good in their own way. The rice they use is very delicious and soaks up the flavor of a meat in a way that is very satisfying. The meat itself is good and the empanadas are pretty good too. My favorite tapas had to be the asparagus and the Fritos, but the ceviche let me down. It was good but just not for me personally. Overall, I can see why so many people have recommend this spot and I can definitely recommend!

Small plates for perfection. We got a variety of tapas. Lamb chops was vert tender, well seasoned, had apricot sause complimented the meat well.

Everything was delicious! We went with the classic red sangria (refreshing), lamb meatballs, the duck leg, patatas bravas, and the baked goat cheese (the table favorite) as well as Valenciana Paella (pictured). All great!

Really cool decor, tasty food with a variety of items to try. There was a bottle of water for the table. The music was a little loud for me. Quite a lot of seats available, and parking was a bit of a challenge but we found a spot eventually. Beef empanada was very tasty, and we also enjoyed the cheese platter among other dishes.

Great food & atmosphere for our Friday night party of 9. Ours was a birthday party. Definitely say yes if the waitstaff asks if you need a birthday candle! And take their recommendation & choose the daily specials. Everything was delicious & full of different flavors. We loved it and can't wait to go back.

Pretty disappointing tapas experience, we really didn’t enjoy the food. Our first tip should’ve been the fact that they play Mexican music at what’s supposed to be a tapas restaurant. They were mixing cuisines and none of it was quite authentic. The only thing that was enjoyed was the gazpacho and the cauliflower & beef empanada were nice. Didn’t taste all fresh and lots of it was overcooked with little flavour. 130$ without tip really wasn’t worth it. There are better food joints to check out on moody street for sure.
