Terrible customer service and scammers. Quality of the dress sucks. Very cheap material and over priced. I would never recommend this store. I don't even know why I paid for it. I was definitely desperate to find a dress. They accuse me of wearing the dress I never wore. They also cleaned the dress before i bought it and now wouldn't take it back or let me return because they say it was used. People try the dress in the store all the time so It's already used. Terrible store.

I bought a dress for $175 here and when I got home noticed the tag was cut out. Google reverse image searched and it was a $20 amazon dress with the tags cut out. The workers were nice and helpful but I felt so scammed. Noticed threads pulled out and I hadn’t even worn it yet. Definitely don’t recommend going here.

I've spoken to other moms in the neighborhood and have been told this shop is dismissive and rude but I did not believe it. Now I do.

The shop is cute and the dresses are stunning, but the customer service is downright awful. The man who “helped” us was rude, condescending, and clearly irritated that he had to do his job. During my fitting, he was openly hostile, and when my fiancé came to pick up the dress, he was just as unpleasant. If he’s more interested in gossiping in Spanish with coworkers than assisting paying customers, he should be kept off the floor. It’s unacceptable to treat people like an inconvenience. Until they fix their attitude and learn basic professionalism, I won’t be returning—and I won’t be recommending Soleil to anyone.

I had the most unfortunate shopping experience here. There were at least four employees working here at the time I came in and was immediately bombarded with three “can we help you,” which normally is something I appreciate in my shopping experiences, but these employees seemed to be lacking basic customer service skills. When the gentleman (and I use this word very generously) asked if he could help and I responded “nope— just browsing. thank you.” he visibly snickered. i made nothing of it. not a minute later, an older woman asked me again if she could help. I suppose she hadn’t heard the “gentleman” just ask me. but this time, I decided to ask “do you happen to sell jewelry boxes here?” I figured since they had knockoff Van Cleef jewelry on display, they might have a jewelry box. The “gentleman” responds: “try the 99 cent store” and laughs. I didn’t think that we would have this kind of blatant classist discrimination in NYC in 2025, and especially in Queens. but here we are. I can’t speak to the quality of the products, and I will likely never find out because I’d rather put my dollars in places that treat people with dignity and respect. will add that there are such gorgeous alternate boutiques on Austin.

Absolutely love the dress I purchased here. The staff is very supportive and sweet, and they don’t pressure you into buying an outfit that isn't right for you. I've gotten tons of compliments on the dress I bought, and I intend to shop here again in the future!

First of all, I was so distressed about the previous dress store I went to called "Che Moi" because they were horrible. I made my way to this dress store and it was organized, bright, cleaned, and very spacious. This place gave off family vibes and the guy that helped us was amazing and so friendly. He was like a long lost friend. He made me feel comfortable and so welcoming. We went in, got a dress and left. Like less then 30 minutes and my cousin already got the one she wanted. Loved it.

I am very hard to please when it comes to dresses. I walked in for the first time and told Jose that I have 5 weddings I need to attend and I have nothing to wear. I walked out with 5 dresses. I came in again because I had 2 more occasions. I walked out with Jose's amazing customer service with 2 more dresses. I also needed a bigger size and he ordered it right away and called to tell me it was ready for pick up. It was waiting for me when I got there! Jose is the only one I trust now with my dress choices. Never thought I would look good in colors.

Soleil is the place to go for hair removal. Great price, amazing results and Mrs. Treza is the best I've ever tried. I did legs, underarms and more two years ago, and no hair so far. Very nice and honest professional. Don't waste your money going to other places that charge you for many sessions without results. Talk to Treza first. Good luck!

A home decor boutique with jewelry and clothing that sits on Forest Hills' main commercial street. I had an hour to kill while in my former nabe of Forest Hills which calls for door to door boutique shopping. Items are chic style for the bachelorette life where patrons will find candles, coffee table, mirror and distress furniture of the weather worn look. Inventory stock is on a first come, first serve basis so if you plan to move and need to dress-up your new home--get it! Customer service is near to nonexistent as they shot rude scowl looks at me as I was curating browsing the long and narrow space. The stench of incense is strong as one stays longer it will leave you coughing up a storm.

This store is disgusting. Used to be a decent furniture and home goods store and sold nice stuff. They now are trying to become a clothing store and sell low quality merch and try to rip you off. The other day I bought a dress from them they charged me 800 dollars and charged 250 to overnight it. I saw it in the window of the store next door and went and asked for a price and they said they were selling it for 250 dollars!! Just bad vibes. Be careful shopping here.

I would give this place 10 stars if I could ! First , The owner and employees are so friendly and helpful . The clothes are amazing ! They are mostly European designers , made so well , such good quality and the look like $800 dresses but are mostly around $120 give or take. Every time I need something for a special occasion (vacation , party ,date night ) I come here . My husband buys my gifts here , he knows it's my favorite .Truly a gem in Forest Hills . Shop local , shop small businesses. I wish they opened another store with more casual clothes , workout clothes and shoes and I would not need to shop anywhere else .

I walked into the store to inquire about a lamp in the window, and was told it was on sale for $300, down from $1200. I said I would buy it, and presented my NYS tax-exempt certificate for my charitable organization. I was told the owner does not accept tax-exempt purchases on sale items. I politely explained that taxes go to the state, and are not related to the price. Now I was told the lamp was $450. I could not believe what was happening. I asked for the owner's number, and the same person told me that SHE is the owner, and that the lamp was now $700. I have never experienced such unprofessional behavior in my life. Unfortunately, Yelp does not allow me to leave 0 stars.

Buyer BEWARE!!!!!! My wife gave them $200 down payment for a $600 dress. One hour later, she came back because she changed her mind and they offered no solution to return her money. An honest mistake that could have been resolved easily. Terrible customer service, nasty owner (or manager). Take your money elsewhere.

I was walking past when I saw a beautiful mirror in the window. I went inside and saw an even nicer mirror towards the back of the store. I spoke with a young saleslady explained it was on sale and I could pay along on the mirror. I few days later I went back in and spoke with the owner both ladies were very nice. I decided to put 100 down and pay along until it was paid off. I would go every week and pay on the mirror. I had bought a very similar but much smaller version several years ago so I knew the quality was there. So on delivery day the mirror actually arrived early. The delivery guy had the mirror wrapped really well but I noticed that the frame around the mirror had chips on it that hadn't been there in the store. I called the store and after speaking with the owner of the store she gave me some paint to use to cover the chips. The paint did the trick you really have to look closely to see where I painted it. I checked the mirror I had bought years ago and the frame was trimmed in metal this mirror is trimmed in something else but definitely not metal. Over all I would still shop here they have beautiful items and great sales.

Soleil carries an eclectic assortment of home decor products- from furniture to vases and clothes. There's a good assortment of gift items too- coasters, gewgaws, jewelry so it's best to take your time and look around slowly. The stock changes fairly often, too so if you see something you like- GET IT! It may be gone the next time you visit.

I visited the store on Saturday, June 30th in the morning in hopes of finding a formal gown for a gala. The sales people welcomed me in with open arms and provided excellent customer service. I also indicated I had a strict budget and they assured me they had a gown for me. We settled on three gowns for me to try on and the very first gown I tried on looked amazing! I didn't think it would be that flattering on me; however, he said 'trust me' it will fit. There was no need for me to try on any of the others! The price of the dress was within my budget as promised and I walked out a very happy and satisfied customer! The store has lovely gowns and I'm sure there is one waiting for you to take home!

Another charming, eclectic store on Austin St. The staff was patient and very helpful. I had to buy Mother's Day gifts and they made me look like a star.

This is a great store and I believe it is reasonably priced. Regarding the merchandise There is a wide assortment of home decor, jewelry, and clothing but don't get confused you will mostly be shopping to dress up your home. Great quality furniture I have purchased a few items such as a coffee table, a wall mirror, a side table along with various other items. The point is I go back and everything I have purchased I take with me during a move. Regarding the staff They are extremely helpful, whether you're shopping for yourself or someone else they take the time to guild your selection if you need the help; this does not mean that they hover over you waiting for you to shop, they're just friendly and helpful. I am generally always pleased with their selection however it is not everyday one needs to make major home purchases, but it's always good to look around. They do have sales and offer drop off services but I believe a fee is involved, they also hold your items if you would rather pickup.

Very nice shoppe with a wide selection however I was there for one thing in particular and fortunately I was able to acquire them. I will be returning in the foreseeable future. Very nice customer service, I had a good experience.

Best store ever! I went to many stores looking for a dress and i found a great dress for a good price at Soleil's. Jose and Sandra were the best! They helped me every step of the way. Must come to this store if your are shopping for a wedding dress. I love you guys.

This store does have an array of items- the only problem is the staff is incredibly RUDE. This is not just from 1 visit- this is EVERY visit - and it's been like that since I moved into the area back in 2002. The management really needs to monitor how their staff speak to customers. Better yet, the owner should do a staff training on how to property assist and speak to customers because they have lost business from me and probably many others. I wish I had a better perspective of this store- the problem is their staff. And it's a major problem and it's not just me saying it. I've heard it from many other residents.

Worst customer service ever. I bought a dress just few days ago. After I opened and showed to my friends and we spot some broken part all over the dress, it also doesn't fit that well. Therefore, I went back within a week and asked for an exchanged (NOT EVEN A REFUND.) Their answer is : NO they couldn't do it at all. Everything goes out the store we don't take it back. No one said a word to me about their "no exchange" policy throughout the whole time in that day. It's a sale item, but they DID NOT mention a word about their strange rule before I left the store nor on the receipt had said anything about it. I never experience anything like this in New York's business world. It is ridiculous and unacceptable. I truly hope I am the last innocent person who doesn't know this local store is just try to take advantage of residents and treat their customers like idiots. This is the worst shopping experience in this beautiful holiday season. Please, don't let yourself be the next victim. Thank you.

I visited Soleil on October 17th,2015 at 5:45 pm in a rush to buy a dress for a sweet sixteen I was attending that started that same day at 7pm. I walked in and was immediately attended to and told the woman what I was looking for. She found a beautfiul beige dress that fit my price range and fit my body exquisitely! All the workers were kind and long story short I arrived to the sweet sixteen fashionably late( 8:30ish) lol . Everyone complimented me on my dress and the birthday girl even told me I was stealing her shine. I definitely reccomended Soleil to any girl/woman who's looking to break necks for a special occassion.

My absolute favorite place to shop!! Whether it's clothing, jewelry, furniture, or gifts, this place has it all!! The employees are amazing and incredibly helpful. Everything in the store is reasonably priced and amazing quality. Never had a problem here. It can't get any better than this

Never again!I recently moved into the area and checked out the furniture side of this boutique. I needed quite a few items and saw something that interested me. One of the owners of the store was so incredibly rude once I old him I wanted to buy the piece in a couple of weeks not at that moment. He waved his hand at me basically dismissing me from the store. You know if you're a small business owner you should know that customer service matters! I am pretty much refurnishing a 3 bedroom apt and I will never step foot in that store again. They just lost a lot of business.

This store has the most AMAZING unique, chic furniture, imported vases, knick-knacks, candles, silk pillows and jewelry........I can't say enough about this store, I AM IN LOVE. It;s filled with one-of-a-kind type artsy/mediterranean trendy things. I've practically furnished my whole apartment from Soleil, including my solid walnut bedroom furniture (amazingly gorgeous and different), my iron bed, my iron coffee table which is old/weather beaten, my wall mirrors....vases throughout my apartment, planters....I've bought gifts for friends here....everything here is GORGEOUS!! So fantastic to find a place like this right on Austin Street, where most of the shops are boring chains stores.

I went there with a friend to browse for a gown for a wedding. It was 7:25, the doors were open, there were guests already inside. I went to grab a dress a minute later to try on. Google says they close at 8PM and we called and confirmed this. The salesperson of hispanic/latin descent told me that I have to hurry up and try on because they are closing. I knew that but I didn't know it was within a matter of seconds. She then changed her mind and said, "actually let me ask my boss if you can try on." I'm super confused and me and my friend are standing there like whats going on. She asks her boss by raising her voice across the store and her boss, some rude jerk of the same ethnicity, yelled, "NO WE ARE CLOSING! WE ARE CLOSED! NO! GET OUT! CLOSED!" In the most scariest manner ever. Me & my friend were scared for our safety and ran out of there. How dare someone, if indeed it is the boss, treat an employee, let alone customers like that. Along with the store next door, Chez Moi Studio, this boutique lost a great client because I went down 2 blocks to OZ Boutique and purchased a beautiful gown. Unlike the others, OZ Boutique valued the $800 I spent with them. EASY. SIMPLE CUSTOMER. IN A RUSH. EASY $800. I went to OZ and got out by 8:00pm. Shame on this "Soliel" store! DO NOT GO HERE! BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Very cool store. take a nice stroll down Austin Street and you will walk in to cool music, unique home furnishings and that most have something.
