Spare Ribs, Sea-Bass, Hawaiian FlatBread! OH MY! These videos don’t do justice. Chef Isaac makes absolutely phenomenal food. Everything from scratch, including the cheese & Seitan! The flavors brought back memories.. can’t even do justice of the hospitality! Allan, the waiter was absolutely awesome. Silvia and Reina are fantastic. This place is absolutely so much different than any other Vegan restaurant in the Chicagoland area. Do yourself a favor and grab some friends and go! It was my boyfriends birthday and they brought out a phenomenal cake for him to celebrate. Everything is made in house and you can tell the love that was put into each plate. We cannot wait to go back!! If we could, we’d eat here everyday.

Actually my perfect restaurant. Everyone we spoke with was so nice and kind. There was awesome music playing and a cute movie silently on in the background. Everything I ate was delicious and everything I drank was to die for. Absolutely immaculate vibes, the setup is so pretty. I can't recommend this restaurant enough.

Wow! It's vegan, and it's amazing... coming from a meat and cheese person. Super impressed with the commitment to the food, presentation amazing. I had the tacos. So yummy... would have never known they were meatless. And they made gluten free bread that tastes great!!! Price was on point, and the restaurant is beautiful. Get reservations, cuz it fills up fast.

YUM!!! My 7-year old and I enjoyed a delicious upscale meal in a space that wasn't pretentious at all. The kid sized spaghetti was HUGE and she raved about it. Everything was so delicious and beautifully presented, especially the Chicken Marsala Cassoulet I ordered which was pure Umami Magic that even my kid loved and kept stealing bites of. Fun Mocktails and beautiful desserts rounded out our mother-daughter date. We'll definitely be back whenever we have something to celebrate!

I was treated to bday lunch here and we shared two dishes(one savory, one sweet) which they didn't make a fuss about (some places do). They welcome you with refreshing cucumber infused water. The server was super helpful at explaining ingredients. The ambiance was nice, we loved all the plants, and it was a chill spot. I look forward to coming back to try other dishes.

Lauren was absolutely phenomenal. There was no wait at this time which was so peaceful and enjoyable to me. The menu had a lot of amazing options. Lauren helped me pick the quesadilla and it was small but super filling. The guacamole was flavorful. The chorizo was cooked well. The music playing wasn’t too loud and had good hits. I will definitely be back. Thank you Lauren !

The best vegan food I’ve had in the Chicagoland area. Clean environment, friendly staff, and lots of choices. Drinks were creative and delicious, and food is good home cooking artfully presented. I’m so excited this is finally open, and I cannot wait to come back!

This place is absolutely amazing in many aspects. Front of the house staff were welcoming, knowledgeable, and overall, excellent. Back of the house excelled in preparation and presentation. Highly recommended for vegans, vegetarians, and carnivores alike!

Yelp
Good vegan restaurant with a weekend brunch menu with too many likeable options. I had the vegan bacon side and the savory crepe. The vegan bacon, made in house, is very good. One order is enough for two or three people. The vegan crepe itself is good, difficult to tell from a non-vegan crepe. The sauce was slightly sweet and mostly savory. The vegan chicken left a bit do be desired. If they would add some mushrooms and shallots and sauce to the filling, and perhaps a white-wine garlic sauce or reduction the crepe filing, they might hit a five. The vegan chicken may be house made. It's ok but I have had better vegan chicken bought at grocery stores. Definitely plan to come back here for dinner. It's a somewhat small place so I suspect it could be crowded sometimes.

Yelp
Soli Grill is a new all-vegan restaurant just outside of Chicago with an incredible and diverse menu. The service is friendly, and I love the fruit-infused water you are served upon arrival. With a menu featuring a little bit of everything from sandwiches to sushi, we had to try a bit of it all: the Roca Roll, Plantain Roll, Calamari, Short Ribs and Poached Pear Flatbread. Everything was pretty good, but that Roca Roll was the winner of the table: no crumbs were left, and I was so surprised at how realistic the roll tasted. My least favorite item was probably the Short Rib plate-it was good don't get me wrong, but it was just a bit lacking especially in light of the price. Drinks here are also solid-my partner loved the Raspberry Lifesaver, which tasted very tropical.

Yelp
I discovered Soli Grill off of a newly followed yelpers page, NaywriChi W, a yelper out of Chicago who I continue to discover restaurant reviews of throughout Chicago, and Chicagoland. I bookmarked Soli instantly for a future visit because I am always looking for alternative vegan restaurants to visit and order from. The restaurant itself sits within a strip of businesses along Benson Ave in the city of Evanston. Parking is pay by the plate, shared, and there is plenty of it including spots directly outside of the restaurant. After walking in, I was greeted by the waitress, who at the time was training another waitress. She asked me if I were looking for Soli because at the time, I imagine that I looked flabbergasted at the appearance of Soli which was fancier than I imagined. The interior design was very unique! If you are vegan, vegetarian, or someone who enjoys plant-based foods you would feel in your element as it appears as a sanctuary place for vegans. Due to Soli being near empty inside, it put me in the mood to dine-in in order to make the experience worthwhile. During this visit, the mood was set with songs like Nelly Furtado (I'm like a bird), Miley Cyrus (See you again), and Christina Aguilera (Genie in a bottle). And the restaurant itself has the appeal of a contemporary casual style of an ambiance in my opinion. Atmosphere: 5 (Great) After being seated, the waitress (Lauren) brought over a laminated card, with a barcode on it that I had to scan in order to get to the menu. She gave me time to look at the menu until I looked up, giving the sign that I was ready to order. I would have preferred the fried chicken and waffle, but I missed the opportunity since it was no longer brunch. So, I settled for the BLT (vegan bacon, lettuce, tomato, mayo, sourdough) w/ a Poppi Orange since it was now lunch being served. Since being a vegetarian, it has been a very long time since I have had a BLT sandwich. It used to be one of my favorites to order prior to becoming vegetarian, so best believe it was one item I wanted to try along with the fried chicken and waffle which I will surely have to try on a weekend for brunch. Service: 5 (Great) As the waitress brought over the BLT, I said to her "I do not think I will be able to finish that!" because it appeared bigger than I imagined. The French fries were the first thing I started off with, and Oh my God, they were delicious, and fresh! Once I finished off the fries, I had a smirk on my face prior to taking the initial bite of the BLT in anticipation of something good. And surely, the BLT was that, as well as satisfying. I also want to point out that I really loved the Poppi Orange! It had some amazing things inside of it, like prebiotics for a healthy gut, immunity benefits, and apple cider vinegar. And not to mention that it is low in calories and sugar. Food: 5 (Great) Being that I had a great experience, I would gladly visit and order from Soli Grill again when in the area. I must say that I felt very valued as a customer at Soli. Service: 5 | Atmosphere: 5 | Food: 5 Recommendations: BLT, Short Rib Hash, Fried Chicken and Waffle, Chocolate Chip Pancakes, Grilled Cheese, Fried Chicken Sandwich, Pineapple Mojito, Apple Cider Punch, and any of the Poppi drinks. ~Live life daily. ~ Thomas G

Yelp
As someone who was vegetarian for 8 years, I was not impressed with this restaurant. My partner and I dined here because I really wanted to try it. I got the short rib, he got the burger. The burger was alright, nothing to write home about. The truffle fries were delicious and cooked perfectly. The short rib was unappetizing. It was what I'm assuming was a seitan-based meat substitute slathered in bbq sauce. The mash and vegetables paired with it were unseasoned. I should also mention the vegetables were blanched but it seemed to be a weird choice for carrots and asparagus in my opinion. I'm a big believer in vegan/vegetarian food being the future. However, this food is missing the mark when it comes to seasoning. If you're going to make imitation short rib for example, maybe try a wine reduction. The burger should be treated as nicely as the fries were! The vegetables on my plate could have sung if cooked with a sauce... Overall, I would not recommend. However, our server was so sweet and so accommodating, I know that this place's intentions are good. There just needs to be more thought put into the dishes--especially if you're charging meat prices for imitation meat.

Yelp
The al pastor tacos were delicious and had just the right amount of crunch. The side of beans were not spicy but complimented the tacos. My friend got fries that also had the perfect texture, and they enjoyed a salad as their main. I like the earthy decor and vibe inside.

Yelp
My wife and I went to Soli on a Wednesday night. We were both excited because their menu looked so interesting and tasty. The waitress was great and the fruit-infused water was delicious. We ordered the plantain sushi roll which was very tasty and the chicken wings which were just okay. They were not crispy and kind of fell apart after the first bite. Pretty good flavor though. For our entrees we ordered the scallops and the trio of tacos. The scallop dish lacked flavor even though it had a good amount of soy chorizo. I felt the use of king mushroom was very innovative. The tacos looked tasty but again two of them had very little to no flavor. The fish taco was very tasty. For dessert we ordered the apple tarte which was extremely dry and the apples were undercooked. Very underwhelming end to the meal. Overall, we really wanted to like this restaurant and the dishes look so inventive but there is a major lack of flavor and/or sauces on the dishes we ordered.

Yelp
Ahh! This used to be Bat 17 Deli, remember that? Also, this is from Bat 17 folks. I had their Waffle Fries. This is an all Vegan cuisine. The staff and service is very good.

Yelp
We dined in again tonight and had another wonderful experience. Our waitress, Anastasiya, was so kind and helpful! 10/10 service! This time we got our favorite jerk wings appetizer again but also branched out and got the crispy rice and tuna appetizer, along with the scallops and chorizo and a plantain sushi roll. All were outstanding and so creative! We pretty much had the place to ourselves and had a nice, relaxing date (the decor and lights are so pretty and lend great ambiance)! Definitely show this place some love and try it out- great for vegans and non-vegans alike.

Yelp
Amazing service and great food. Definitely recommend this place to those who are curious about trying vegan food( will not disappoint). Also if you are vegan and haven't been, it is a great place. Many different flavors, all on point. The decor is beautiful as well. Nice bar with great mock tails if you're into that.

Yelp
Should be called SOLID Grill! Solid brunch - we had the corned beef hash and bread pudding french toast but everything on the menu looked great. Full bar and great service, too! Cant wait to go back.

Yelp
The ambiance is very pretty. The food was very slow to come out, but it's a new restaurant, so it could just be growing into their business needs. The wedge salad was really good. The vegan bacon on top was my favorite part of the entire meal. It was sweet and smokey. It makes me want to try the BLT next time. The seasoning on the potatoes and fries was great, but the potatoes were labeled as hashbrowns but seemed more like dinner potatoes. The Ruben was good. The seitan wasn't super flavorful, but the dressing and bread were so good it made up for it. The tres leches was superb. The chocolate cake had rosemary and mint in it, which was a nice twist and added a lot to it. I'm excited to try it again.

Yelp
I wanted to like this vegan place . But most dishes consisted of vegan meats or fish or chicken. It would of been nice to have more tofu and salads

Marissa P.

Yelp
remarkable!!! our server Quin was a doll, indoor ambiance was adorable, but above all the food was absolutely superb. the crab cakes were balanced, filling, flavorful, and executed to perfection. the tres leches cake was god tier. it's difficult to find a vegan tres leches and this one really shined. creamy, moist, light, and expertly balanced by the acidity of the strawberries. the kitchen could very well be staffed with michelin star chefs. we will be back soon!!

Yelp
My wife and I were very excited to come here for the first time for my birthday this week, but left incredibly frustrated. We arrived at 7:30pm on a Tuesday, which we figured would give us more than enough time to enjoy a birthday meal before they closed at 9pm per their posted hours. However, the lights were mostly off and the door was locked. After a couple minutes at the door, we found an employee to talk to, and it turns out that they closed early because there were no reservations that evening. I had already paid for parking and was not happy to learn that this restaurant just takes it upon themselves to close well in advance of their posted hours just because there aren't any reservations. As we got in our car and left, we saw 3 employees in the empty restaurant just staring at us--what's up with that? I reached out to Soli Grill to give them an opportunity to make this right before posting a review and haven't heard back from them. Very disappointing as I was looking forward to another exciting vegan restaurant in Evanston, but I won't be coming back unless something changes.

Yelp
I just had lunch here and it was AMAZING!! I had the Roca sushi roll and loved it. I cannot wait to try more of the items on the menu. Soli Grill is such a great addition to Evanston's restaurant scene!

Allison W.

Yelp
Fantastic! Dont miss this place! Outstanding food, drinks, atmosphere and met some new friends. My fav was the sushi but so much more to come back and try!

Margaret M.

Yelp
Was SO excited to try this place and visited with two friends on a weeknight for dinner. First thing that hit us when we entered was the smell; it smelled like stale water or maybe cleaning solution that had been used to mop the floor and left out? Whatever it was it wasn't pleasant. The menu looks absolutely delicious online, but it's frustrating as there are no food allergy indicators for each item (tree nuts, gluten, soy) which gives a false impression. One of our party is gluten sensitive and honestly the menu is like a smorgasbord of gluten. Since their options were limited (really salad with lots of stuff taken off), we opted for burgers and fries (even the burger has gluten as a binding agent). Sadly, the food was "meh" which is such a shame because Evanston needs more vegan restaurant options. For us, we will stick to Spirit Elephant in Winnetka and Elephant & Vine.

Yelp
I do not recommend this restaurant. I was eager to try a new vegan spot. We ordered a small soup of the day when we were served the soup it came out cold. They also overcharged us for a large soup after the nice server told us we would not be charged for the larger soup. When the bill came out they tried to dispute it. That is horrible customer service!

Katherine S.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious! And I'm not even vegetarian or vegan. My sister and I split the plantain sushi roll and the carne asada wrap. I would get either of those again, for sure. But I also want to try everything else on the menu, other sushi rolls, other wraps, and some great sounding sandwiches. Yummy french fries, too! Our server was super nice, getting us extra plates and napkins. Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
My husband and I are both vegan, so we are absolutely THRILLED to not only have an all vegan fine dining establishment in Evanston, but one that also has amazing food and service! We have been here three times so far and plan on trying everything on the menu. Some of my faves so far are the lemon curd pancakes, which taste like lemon meringue pie filling on a pancake. It's not too sweet, and the pancakes are big and fluffy. The "calamari" made out of hearts of palm is spectacular! Even better than the real thing (from what I remember, I've been vegan a long time). The house made bacon is smokey, a bit sweet, and crispy. Everything we have tried so far has been great as well as the drinks. The atmosphere is cozy, clean, and well decorated. The servers are all very friendly and attentive. We even took my carnivorous father in law here and he loved the place. Whether you are vegan or not, I highly recommend Soli Grill!!!

Jill K.

Yelp
Delicious upscale inventive vegan food served in a casual cozy restaurant. We LOVED the sushi rolls! Probably the best vegan sushi we have had in Chicago. The burger was great but not heavy- it's made in house and you can taste the difference. The chicken wing app and shoestring fries were also pretty incredible. We are going back this weekend to try a few other things we didn't have room for. The service was also great. Everyone was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. This place is a great addition to Evanston and vegan or not, there is something for everyone to love.

Katy B.

Yelp
Went for lunch. Fabulous vegan sushi!!! We also really enjoyed the Glorified Avocado sandwich.

Alex K.

Yelp
WOW! Run, don't walk! The best vegan food I've had in the Chicago area (and I've been to them all)! The food is high-quality with a home-cooked feel. The restaurant is clean, and the drinks are excellent. The servers were very attentive and pleasant. This place deserves success!
