My husband ordered a custom cake for my 30th birthday and I love the quality and the accuracy to the descriptions and examples we've provided! We thought the place was still in Brighton so the drive to get the cake was a bit far, but it was well worth it. Thanks to Solodko I got to have a wonderful birthday celebration with this elegant dusty blue cake. Highly recommend to anyone to elevate their special occasions💕

Solodko is an absolute gem in Boston! Their honey cake is simply outstanding—perfectly moist, rich in flavor, and just the right amount of sweetness. My partner and I were taking a walk in a neighborhood by Oak Square when we decided to stop into Solodko. We were instantly blown away by the honey cake, it's fantastic! We knew right away that that HAD to be our wedding cake. Ilona was very quick to respond, organized, and attentive. Her team drove our cake 4 hours away to our wedding venue and it arrived in perfect condition. It was absolutely beautiful! Just what we asked for. Our guests raved about the cake, delicious, beautiful, and not too sweet! If you are looking for a cake for an event, I highly recommend Solodko, an exceptional local caterer.

I’d been searching everywhere for a honey cake that reminded me of the one I grew up with. That’s when I came across Solodko Bakery, and I’m so glad I did! Ordering it to Cambridge was incredibly easy, and Ilona made the entire process smooth and stress-free. She was super responsive and accommodating. I’ve ordered from them a couple of times now, and they even adjusted the cake to fit my taste—perfecting it based on my feedback! The honey cake is delicious, moist, and fluffy. It's also a very beautiful addition to any gathering you host. Everyone's been raving about it! I’ll 100% be ordering from them again. Highly recommend!

I surprisingly got our Christmas cake made by Ilona and everyone in my crew just enjoyed it so much! The chocolate was not to heavy and even if it didn’t have much sugar it tasted like the best, We will consider them as a top priority and we will ask them to do catering to our business meetings , eat sweet to talk sweet 😊

Lovely little bakery! We only tried the honey cake because we just popped in quickly while headed on a walk, but it was absolutely delicious! Lovely cream and cake and not too sweet! I was also tempted by the cookies and the tarts! They have a few tables and it's very cute inside.

Solodko's beautiful pictures on their Instagram enticed me to come visit, and their croissants did not disappoint. I tried the Rasberry Pistachio one, which was was a great balance of sweetness and tartness -- the cream filling was the star and balanced well with the crunchy exterior. I also tried several of their cookies too -- their smores' inspired one was a lot of fun with a gooey marshmallow center, but I wish their pumpkin one had a stronger pumpkin flavor. Service was fast. I will be back for more croissants and to try their honey cake!

i had noticed this bakery while i was waiting for the bus and decided to go in for some coffee. i also indulged in a raspberry pistachio croissant at the very last minute, which was a very good decision. the raspberry pistachio croissant was delicious! it was tarty and had a creamy filling--it's even better that they make it in-house. the ice coffee was decent, a bit too watery for me. they had a variety of different baked goods and pastries that i'm curious to try. the staff was also very friendly and helpful. i would recommend checking them out and trying their pastries!

These two sisters are INCREDIBLE!!! We needed a rushed order of a party size of macarons for a bridal shower (another place let us down big time) and not only did they have it ready for us in under 24 hours, but the colors were perfect and they tasted delicious! Chocolate, coffee and earl gray flavor - they were a huge hit. To anyone looking for delicious desserts for a party or a cake - come see these incredible women!

I had seen on Yelp that a new bakery had popped up in the no-man's land along Brooks Street - that stretch holds fond running memories for me because I take it every time I access the river, and it's made extra sweeter now that I know there's a bakery to frequent. They opened a few months back and I can't wait to try out more of their options. Raspberry almond croissant: Perfectly flaky, excellent amount of raspberry and cream filling. Could give any of the French patisseries in the area a run for their money and much, much better than the stale offerings at Tatte. Honey cake: A classic Ukrainian dessert. This was excellent and would pair wonderfully with coffee/tea. Rolling out so many thin layers of cake is a master class in precision, patience, and presentation. Pretty sure you have to do all this by hand, so the end product is certainly a labor of love. I really liked the topmost layer of crushed up biscuit-like cake bits and then all the bottom layers that take on a spongy texture with the help of the icing. We also tried the chocolate version and, while I love chocolate anything, I preferred the original honey, which didn't need anything else to elevate it. Raspberry pistachio cake: Amazing creme and raspberry filling, super neat layers, though the bottom layer of cake was noticeably dry and tough. Could be over-mixing or too much time in oven before assembling but otherwise, a fantastic dessert. The whole cakes are very pricey ($60) but definitely worthwhile for a special occasion. Be sure to check the hours before you go. The shop is set up for online ordering, including their specialty cakes in advance. Check out the "About" part of their website, the two sisters who own the bakery have a great story. Parking: Some street options right in front but if you can walk/take bus, that's preferable.

I wanted to try some chocolate cake and decided to try this place out. I read the yelp reviews. Ratings were decent. So I decided to do a pick up order. Rating: 1 Spartak Cake Slice (Chocolate Honey Cake) : 5/5. Not overly sweet and very delicious. 1 Chocolate Hazelnut Croissant: 1/5 Maybe I should have heat it up. Croissant a bit hard for me and bitter for me. Maybe it was made with dark chocolate or something. Took a little bite or two. 1 Chocolate Hazelnut Tart: 3/5 Loved the crust of the tart. Not too hard. Just not my favorite. It was alright. Recommendation: Spartak Cake Slice (Chocolate Honey Cake) Overall: 3.5/5

My SO brought me a piece of Spartak cake so I cannot review service or ambiance, but I know he was impressed with the bakery.The many layers of this unique chocolate cake are separated by a cream cheesy filling. Overall flavor was delicious, but the cake was a bit dry. It would probably be good with whipped cream. I plan to check out Solodko the next time I'm in Brighton.

I'm so excited to have a bakery in the neighborhood! It's been tough to get over here since they're not open in the morning or on Sundays, but I finally walked over on a Saturday. They had several varieties of croissants, baklava, and cake slices available. They also have drip coffee and some bottled iced coffees. I got a chocolate hazelnut and a strawberry poppyseed croissant. The person who served me was friendly and boxed them up for me to take home. The chocolate hazelnut was the favorite at my house- it oozed filling when I bit into it and the pastry was delicious and flaky. I will definitely be back soon to try some of the other offerings!

Beautiful place with super nice girls and Delicious cake, do I need to say more? Cake that we bought here was called "medovik" and was better then any cake I tried. This particular cake was: fresh, perfectly shaped and not too sweet, basically melts in your mouth. Girls were efficient and super friendly.

Decadent desserts and pastries. Friendly and hospitable owners. Worth the visit to get some amazing and pretty desserts. They also do custom cakes which are a fantastic option for any celebratory occasion!

Walk past this cute place all the time but only just went in today for the first time. I got the chocolate cherry croissant and it was sooo good!! The croissant itself was super buttery and flaky, and the chocolate and cherry fillings were very light and perfectly sweet. Amazing flavor combo and executed so well. 10/10 recommend!!!

SUCH good pastries!! The honey cake was beyond delicious--a great texture, and flavorful without being overpoweringly sweet. Everything is so beautiful, too! The croissants have an elegant look, and the one I tried (chocolate cherry) had a lovely mousse inside.

Amazing Macaroons and eclairs! My coworkers at Boston Children's and friend from College all raves about the amazing presentation and taste of these desserts. Also, very friendly service and just overall a very bright and happy atmosphere which makes you feel great about supporting a local business. My personal favorite flavors are pistachio, chocolate hazelnut, and coffee macaroons

Wonderful little bakery. Welcoming, accommodating staff. We showed up late on Saturday when most things were sold out. They didn't hesitate to cut two large cakes up so we can buy individual slices. The cakes were delicious! We especially loved the birds milk cake. We will be back!
