Solstice

"If there are "writers' writers", then there are chefs' chefs. A Meilleur Ouvrier de France, a mainstay of the Ferrandi gastronomy school, promoter of culinary design, restaurateur in Tokyo, Éric Trochon is that sort of chef – admired and yet relatively little known. He and his sommelier wife preside over this modern, intimate-feeling restaurant with a decor that blends designer furnishings and unfinished walls. The menu also errs towards minimalism, with just two on-point proposals (one is an omakase menu). The dishes showcase French cuisine with Japanese and Korean touches, such as volaille du Gâtinais (PGI poultry) with wild cinnamon leaf and its succulent juices with white miso. Two places with a view into the kitchens are available at the counter." - Michelin Inspector

What a wonderful dinner and wine pairing. Im willing to return to Paris just to have dinner here again. Thank you Chef for the experience. I had the 8 course omakase. It’s hard to pick what stood out because it was excellent from start to finish. Do yourself a favor and book a dinner here

Great meal! I went with the shorter menu, and it was still very filling. The cheeses, the soup, and the beans were my favorites. It was my first time eating pigeon, but when in Paris…

I understood this as French classics with a Japanese and Korean touch, and was hoping for much more at the end of the meal. Because French cuisine with its heavy use of butter and cream gets very satiated after a few dishes. Service was attentive and excellent as expected from a Michelin starred restaurant. But at the end of the meal, nothing particularly stood out. Ingredients were fresh, cooking was fantastic, flavours were good and well balanced. Perhaps I expected more excitement with more twists with Japanese and Korean elements. All in all, a really good restaurant to visit.

We sat in the beautiful garden for lunch. Started with a lovely glass of 19’ benoît, then moved on to a crisp leflaive. Food was delicious. Highly was the super buttery lobster and monkfish. Will definitely go back!

Solstice is an exquisite restaurant with delicious food, gorgeously plated. We were politely welcomed in, and all of our questions were patiently answered. As it was a lunch time, we had the brunch menu. Even though we went with the short menu, it had a lot of dishes. My description would be a pale memory of what we were served and how it tasted. So I recommend just to leave any doubts, and enjoy the cuisine and the experience. I'd mention that besides the amuse bouche, we had three appetizers which included tofu in dashi brot, sashimi dorade and more. Then we had poultry and pollack as main dishes but this is bluntly speaking without giving real credit to how the dishes were prepared and tasted. The dessert had rhubarbes as a main ingredient. It was ingenuily matched with the other ingredients and beautifully plated. Besides that we had two more dessert on the house, which included french macarons and basil sorbet. Definitely ask at least for a glass of wine - they have perfect matchings for the food. It's expensive but it's worth it!

My husband and I were in Paris celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary. It took me some time to narrow down a Michelin Star restaurant for dinner. Solstice did not disappoint! We were welcomed by the Matre’d, Chef Trochon and his wife, Mi Jin Ryu their sommelier. Forgive me because I cannot recall the name of the Matre’d, but he was very friendly and knowledgeable about the restaurant and the food. He guided us through our dinner journey. We opted for the Summer Solstice, five course menu with wine pairing. We stared with the tofu and trout eggs. Next was the Brocciu with fermented wild garlic leaves, peas & mint with olive oil. Following was green asparagus. Then the sea bream with. The next course was pork. For dessert their pastry chef made something with porcini mushroom that was unusual and quite tasty. I do believe there were more than five courses. The wine pairing with each course was exquisite and only enhanced the food and wine. The food and wines were amazing and watching the chef at the bar from our table was quite a treat.
