"Pronounced “salt,” this airy Bryan space’s menu is all over the map. Though much of it takes its dish cues from pan-Asian countries, it makes stops in France for a duck a l’orange and Louisiana for Cajun fettuccine. Takeout and delivery orders can be placed online; there are indoor and outdoor dine-in services." - Brandon Watson

Eat here! Drink here! Celebrate here! The home infused spirits make for wonderful cocktails. The service was great. My kids enjoyed some mock tails. The food was good, I had a vegan wrap and added shrimp. I was shocked by how much the addition of shrimp cost, but they gave me my moneys worth.

Celebrated a birthday lunch with ten ladies today and the food was good and the service by Lauren was great. But when it came to dessert, where most places offer a complimentary dessert for the birthday girl, the manager charged a $2 upcharge per person for the cupcakes that we brought in. An extra $20 for no extra details they were troubled for. That one thing will cost them quite a bit of business as we all would have probably returned for another meal, but felt that was not necessary and most likely won’t be back.

When I travel, I love to visit locally owned restaurants and have a taste of the local food and culture. I was visiting my daughter in Cypress and we went to the Texas A&M football game. There, I shared a sausage with my girlfriend. For ball park food, it was okay. When we left the game, I decided to stop by a place in town before we drove back to Cypress. College towns often have great food. We decided on Solt based on a picture of the creme brulee and the decent reviews. There weren't many reviews but they were good. The restaurant is nice and the staff greeted us when we came in. They seated the four of us at a small table, gave us clean menus and water in clean glasses. I checked the menu and was perplexed. I felt like it was all over the place. Cajun, Asian, French, American and Mexican seafood. Then, I saw the word truffle oil in the ingredients of several menu items. I love truffles not truffle oil. Truffle oil is actually just olive oil with a lab created synthetic flavoring of a truffle. I find it a cheap way to add a unique flavor in a bad way. I should have trusted my instincts and left. We started with the Asian Steak Carpaccio. Unfortunately, I didn't read all of the ingredients because it included spicy truffle oil. They brought out less than 1/2 ounce of tenderloin in a watery sauce. The truffle oil and salt overpowered the flavor of the meat, which it should complement. After that we waited, and waited, and waited. I then heard another waiter apologize to other customers because they were short staffed and the kitchen was backed up. This is something they should have said as soon as we were seated. Our waiter came up and said our food was almost ready because two items were up. I imagined some of our food sitting under a heat lamp as the rest was completed. But that is not what happened. The food he alluded to, was for other customers that were seated before us. Good for them and us. Then we waited, and waited, and waited. I then heard another customer complaining about waiting for a long period of time for food. That group left after waiting about an hour to eat. We were about 30 min into it and had water and a ludicrous small amount of tenderloin. The manager approached us and apologized for the wait and suggested we order drinks that would come out rapidly. I was taken back by the suggestion. I should pay you more money for poor service? I asked how much longer? She did not give me a time just that she would bring it out as soon as it was ready. I started thinking that we were going to be like the other group waiting over an hour. I discussed it with my family and we decided to leave. I asked for the check and was getting ready to leave, then our food came out. Okay let's see what we get. I ordered the black cod, my girlfriend ordered the calamari tacos, my daughter's boyfriend ordered the burger medium with fries, and my daughter ordered the pat thai. The cod was cooked perfectly but the sauce was extremely salty and it again overpowered other flavors. Black cod being a light flavored fish doesn't need copious amounts of salt, catfish okay add the salt. My girlfriend received the calamari appetizer, not the tacos. They were thinly sliced rings, over cooked, rubbery with again to much salt. My daughter's pat thai noodles were undercooked and crunchy, and yes I know what al dante noodles are supposed to taste like. Her boyfriend's burger was overcooked and dry. This was definitely one of the worst dining experiences I've had in a while. They made no offers to take care of anything and just apologized for the delay. If you eat fast food everyday and have a desensitized palette for salt, you may consider this fine dining. We talked about it later, and all agreed the sausages at the football game were better and less salty. I'll also compare this to eating too much salty popcorn to the point that your lips start swelling because the salt is attracting all the moisture in the environment to your lips. That's what it was like. Oh, I never ordered the creme brulee, just wanted to get out of there.

Google
Exceeded our expectations! We ordered the Sweet and Spicy glazed salmon, shrimp Fresca wrap, and baked goat cheese. The food came out hot and we were very pleased! The cocktails were delicious as well, I ordered a French 75 and the bartender made a special cocktail for my friend , which he calls the strawberry shrub. 10/10 experience! Also our waiter Kirk was great, very attentive especially with our allergies.

L Curtis

Google
BE CAREFUL! 5 shrimp would cost you 10$ here after ordering, the waiter asked do we want shrimp on my pad thai, i said yes but was surprised by the bill. i know i didn't ask the price, my fault, so be it, but 10$ for five boiled shrimp added on a 15$ pad thai is just INSANE (they called it grilled shrimp lol) and this is not mentioned on the menu

My husband and I got the snapper and duck for our entrees and the steak carpaccio for appetizers— all recommended by our wonderful server, Nathan. This is probably one of the best meals I’ve had in a very long time. I cannot wait to come back.

Went for a quiet and late birthday dinner with just the wife and I. Atmosphere was very low key yet slightly upscale. service from both bar and waitress was impeccable. We had the baked goat cheese appetizer, Filet, miso crusted Cod, truffle mac and cheese, and crème brûlée to end it off. All of the food was incredibly well prepared from start to finish, steak and cod both perfectly cooked. This was a first time for us and we will definitely be back to sample some more of the menu.

First time at this restaurant, what a wonderful experience . I tasted a couple of things from the menu and all were wonderful. My favorite dish was the brussel sprouts appetizer. It was amazing and a pleasant surprise. Attentive, professional service, nice ambiance in the restaurant. Put it on your list.

Ruth M.

Yelp
So great to go to a restaurant where you can have conversation while you are eating the delicious goat cheese. Then the Kabobs. My most favorite place in B/CS Ruth Maxwell

Yelp
Incredible food, incredible drinks, and incredible atmosphere!! The staff here are some of the best I have encountered here in town, they are super attentive, and very personable! Overall an incredible experience and I can't wait until next time I get to come back here!

Mark J.

Yelp
Great service Bit pricey for this college town food was well worth the price though

Christopher C.

Yelp
What a lovely meal. In town for a week with co-workers and we'd had our fill of BBQ, Tex-Mex and box lunches. This was a great find! Great service, an interesting menu, nice wine list and all around great scene. People were very nice and for a fairly spare decor, I expected it to be loud, yet it wasn't. Next time through town I could see eating here multiple nights. My asian inspired cod was really top-notch and everyone else enjoyed what they ordered. Brussels sprouts and calamari appetizers were both winners. And funnily enough, our hotel was literally across the parking lot from this place. I asked the front desk for a restaurant recommendation and (wait for it) she handed me a coupon for Papa Johns. I said 'what about Solt?' 'Don't know anything about it.' Well, they do now as I am telling them to send people there. Can't wait to eat here again.

David K.

Yelp
Amanda and her team killed it tonight, and I'm talking on a whole other level! Best cod I've ever had, and I eat at some amazing restaurants. So tender, flaky, honestly all the words that are so misapplied to many dishes because once you have this cod you'll be so much more careful with your word choice in the future with other restaurants. Truly one amazingly inspiring dish! Amanda, thanks you for being able to relate to my African adventures! Cheers to you all, and for my readers please tell them hi from Dave! Yelp
My daughter and I had an early flight out of CLL, and no rental car (we stayed at the hotel adjacent). THere were several restaurants within walking distance, and Sôlt had the best reviews. It was good, but not great. I'm guessing better than other options nearby. Several menu items used truffle oil -- we had both the truffle mac-n-cheese and fries. The fries were forgettable -- though the mac-n-cheese was pretty tasty. My daughter (who is 13) liked it enough that she has tried putting truffle oil on her own mac-n-cheese at home, lol. We also had the calamari, which was... fried well. The dipping sauces weren't amazing, and the breading picked up quite a bit of oil making it feel a bit heavy. But, with a beer, it was enjoyable. We also shared the Pat Thai, which is like pad thai but with wheat noodles. If this had been better, I might have gone 5 stars. As a menu item, it wasn't amazing. I definitely prefer more traditional rice noodles. The flavors were quite sugary. My daughter was OK with it, but it definitely felt like eating the americanized version of a take on thai, rather than the nuanced flavors of the real thing. Despite being busy on move-in weekend, our service was friendly.

Yelp
Haven't been but a handful of times but the food and service were on point. The atmosphere is somewhat sparse and loud imo but to each his own.

Whitney B.

Yelp
SO GOOD!! Tried this place randomly & so glad we did! Fantastic service & drinks!!! I got the goat cheese appetizer which was amazing, with a mango habanero drink. Will def be back & will def order those 2 again!!!

Jim S.

Yelp
Great food, had the crispy calamari, and Pat Thai with shrimp, and was wonderful! GRE place for lunch, or dinner.

Yelp
Solt is a PHENOMENAL restaurant, with consistently quality food, service, and atmosphere. And I can say consistently-- I come here almost every week! I've had most things on the menu and been able to meet several of the servers. Amanda, Christina, Nathan, and Max to name a few have been detailed with their attention, kind, and incredibly knowledgeable. As a past server, I have been very impressed. They are part of the reason I keep coming back! From a practical standpoint, Solt is a very good option because of its wide range of options. There's something for everybody - burgers, wraps, steak, seafood, even a wonderful vegan peanut wrap that I order often. You can get a solid entree in a very nice place for only $15 -- or you can splurge on a date night and get that $30 steak, your choice! Top menu recommendations from a regular that doesn't want to break the bank: - Bahn mi - Goat cheese appetizer (they bring fresh bread again and again; it can work great for an entree) - Vegan peanut wrap - Spiced carrot soup - Six onion soup (get the cup, not the bowl) I wish I had more pictures, but the one time I really splurged I got their lemon butter shrimp -- and they did NOT skimp on the shrimp like most places would. They rotate the menu, so it's not longer available, but check out their new herb lemon snapper instead!

Yelp
Good food but a bit pricy for the quality. Service was attentive and suggestions were helpful

Cathy W.

Yelp
Perfect dining experience! Delicious food, interesting craft cocktails, excellent friendly service and very relaxed, peaceful, higher end ambience. They refer to it as "polished casual." Not fancy enough to make a first time or casual diner uncomfortable, but nice enough to feel like it's a treat (no Oreo shakes-not fancy like that!) My dessert was in fact a smooth, creamy cheesecake. Pomegranate Orange Cheesecake featuring candied orange, chantilly and pomegranate surup. Oh yeah, fancy like that! No judgment-I ate the whole thing! I started with a delicious carrot soup and followed up with a Thai Beef Salad. Great summer meal. Loved the mint ginger dressing and the tender beef. Would love to go back sometime and try the Vegan Peanut Wrap which sounds delicious, vegan or not. Or maybe just pop in for dessert. They have creme brulee too!

Vicki N.

Yelp
Solo lunch today so I decided to try out Solt. I love the decor in this place, it looks on the upper scale, would be a good place to go on a date. I was seated immediately with no reservation. I already knew I wanted to try an espresso martini because I have never had one. It came out in what seemed like seconds. My opinion of it was that it taste like iced coffee but it did not taste like it had alcohol in it. The first thing that caught my eye on the menu is the baked goat cheese. This also came out quickly and it looked amazing and I was not disappointed in the taste either. It has cranberries and candied pecans and honey and came with little bites of grilled bread. Delicious. I considered ordering the vegan peanut wrap but that goat cheese gave me all that I needed. This place is nice.

Jake H.

Yelp
Sôlt College Station was a pretty good place. I got the brussel sprouts and sweet & spicy glazed salmon. The sprouts I'd get again but the salmon had too much glaze. There was a lot that looked good on the menu.

Nami K.

Yelp
Quality find in College Station! Enjoyed cocktail, entrée cooked to perfection and dessert was scrumptious.

Klemens T.

Yelp
Ate here for the first time with my wife celebrating our 13yrs wedding anniversary. We ordered the Pan Roasted Salmon and Pan Roasted Blackened Chicken. Both dishes were delicious and flavorful. My salmon dish came with a dehydrated orange slice which was sooo good especially with the whip cream that was also on the dish. We also ordered the Crispy Brussel Sprouts and Truffle Parmesan Pommes Frites (truffle fries lol). Both appetizers were amaaaazing. And for dessert, we had the Crème Brûlée which was also yummy. Overall, portions and flavor on point for a decent price. Fancy little restaurant with great service by our waitress (I think her name was Christina). A lot of available parking near Razoos and the other establishments.

Ana M.

Yelp
Parking lot- Shared large lot but so much space its not an issue. Service- Nice but had to flag down our server after dinner to get our bill and no refills Atmosphere- dance location, stylish, modern Value- a little on the expensive side but I think it's worth a try Overall- I'd try it again the next time I'm in town.

Olga R.

Yelp
Disappointed with my experience at Solt. The cod lacked flavor and the Thai salad tasted like it came straight from a bag. Red ridges on your romaine is never a good sign. The overall dining experience fell short of expectations especially after spending over $170.00. Drinks were above average and the 6 onions soup was good. Nevertheless, for that kind of entree prices you would hope more effort from the kitchen. Hoping for improvements in the future.

Abir C.

Yelp
This place is a must try! Chef Tai has done it again. This used to be Veritas. But it was rebranded and restructured to be a bit more casual. The service was great, and the food was phenomenal. I got the Mexican mule with mezcal and infused with smoked rosemary, and the Pan seared duck breast, red wine poached cherry reduction, roasted potatoes, onions, spinach for dinner. The mule was easily the best I have had in CS. The duck was perfectly cooked to a medium, and the combination with the cherry reduction and the veggies was excellently executed. This place is highly recommended!

Magda M.

Yelp
Charming wait staff. Solid fare. While we arrived at 8:55 and left by 10:01, and the waitress sweetly ensured there was no need to hurry, the hostesses reminder that the kitchen closes at 9:30 felt more like a reprimand than a welcome. We enjoyed our evening and will return when I can have a cocktail or two. So go early, I guess?

Cassie G.

Yelp
We had never eaten here but found the food to be excellent. We had a large party and a variety of dishes and everything was loved by all.

Vanessa C.

Yelp
SO GOOD! Solt is super cute and I had THEE best martini I've ever had! (so good I ordered two) Shout out to the bartender, the goat cheese and bacon stuffed olives were the perfect addition *chefs kiss* we ordered the goat cheese appetizer, the duck and steak kabobs for dinner- everything was really great! Would've loved a candle on the table to add to the ambience. Altogether it's a perfect date night spot.

Aurora L.

Yelp
Very nice ambiance and the service is very good and attentive. The food was pretty good but I wasn't totally blown the way. For the table we got the Brussel sprouts appetizer - interesting with the bell peppers in it. I got the shrimp tacos with the side of elote as my main. The shrimp tacos were pretty standard with some bacon as the twist but the elote was delightful. I'll give Sôlt another try another time.

Colin F.

Yelp
Duck was awesome! Great flavor! Brussels sprouts for the app was delicious. Great spot for dinner.

Andrea M.

Yelp
Didn't find the food, service or atmosphere more than average. It wasn't bad, just wasn't what I expected for the price. Might try it again, but not in a rush to do so given all of the options in B/CS.

Brianna W.

Yelp
The service is also different but great. My favorite thing coming here is the duck. But this time I think they changed the menu. I would still come again. Love it

Janet T.

Yelp
I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and experience at Solt. Our server Amanda was a delight. She gave great recommendations and provided excellent service. The ambiance gave good vibes. All the food was delicious but the carrot soup was my favorite! If it was socially acceptable I would have licked the bowl.

Tricia B.

Yelp
This was a delightful find that was walking distance from our hotel. The cocktails were creative and delicious. The crispy Brussels sprouts were delicious with a hint of heat. The lamb was great, but I would have preferred it a little less done. Fantastic evening!

Stacey E.

Yelp
Korean BBQ wrap was delicious and my dining partner raved about the burger. Cute atmosphere!

Jill L.

Yelp
The waitress was very helpful. The food was fresh and perfect portions. Really enjoyed the mocktails!!

Mark Y.

Yelp
Being a high rated spot in College Town amounts differently than where I'm from and while this place got rave reviews here if it was anywhere else it wouldn't go on the high rating. My blackened chicken was a bit dry and the seasoned rice was well, over seasoned and on the salty side but the grilled veggies of zucchini and squash were good. I also liked the pear salad which has wedges of freshly candied pears with a vinaigrette dressing. The calamari was good as an appetizer. My wife's slow roasted pot roast was awesome and sat on top of a bed of mashed potatoes. We also had cheeseburger and fries.

Phyllis R.

Yelp
The Brussel sprouts were excellent! My Pat Thai was really tasty as well. Enjoyed my meal. The wait staff were dressed very casually, but were friendly and nice. Not much ambiance, but food very good. Plenty of parking.

Mrs. T.

Yelp
We visited this restaurant while on a work trip to College Station. We loved the food but could not give it a 5 star because I was disappointed that our server was not completely honest with us about the specials. We had our children with us and it was on Monday. The kids meals are suppose to be free with a meal but we paid for ours and I didn't notice until leaving when I used the restroom and we had already paid. Our server was obviously preoccupied in his mind go bother letting us know about the special. That made me feel really disappointed because I was really excited about leaving a good review.

Sammi G.

Yelp
Great food and great service! The whole place is so chic. Will definitely go back! :)

Wendy D.

Yelp
I went iso crab cakes only to find that that hasn't been on the menu in a long time. I enjoy trying new places and new dishes so I stayed and ordered the Asian Steak Carpaccio, the portion was smaller then expected. The steak was tender and the flavor was pretty good. I then tried the Banh Mi Steak Sandwich and it was a delicious surprise. I was cautious but curious after reading the description but the ingredients blend beautifully. The fries where great. I'll definitely be back. Rated a 4 because the service was good but a bit much. I went to relax and felted rushed.

B R.

Yelp
Good place in CS for a meal and drinks with an upscale feel but relatively modest prices. They don't have a full bar but can make most basic cocktails. Staff are friendly and attentive. I've visited twice and look forward to trying out more of the menu.

Patrick B.

Yelp
The reason for this review being 5 stars is solely because of Hannah. Yeah, the food was good. It was totally awesome. But what put it over the top was the curly red head, who, by the way, has an amazing vocabulary and a larger-than-life personality. Just go there. Try it. Ask for Hannah.

Kim G.

Yelp
My husband and I do a fair amount of dining out in the Bryan College Station area. It's always such a delight for us to find a new place to eat. We had heard mixed reviews about Solt, but we were happy to give it a try, as we had heard. It was owned by the same person that owned Veritas, which we loved. Sorry to say, there was not much I can say about this place that provided a nice dining experience. In my opinion, the food was mediocre, the wait staff stood around doing nothing and did not dress appropriately and the ambience seemed very cold, and almost sterile, like a cafeteria. I hope they can make some changes because as I said, we like to find good places to eat. They need to step up their game. That being said, the staff is nice.

Karen R.

Yelp
The food wasn't good. It wasn't nearly the quality I expect from a restaurant of this caliber. The service was good, the place was clean and neat. The food just wasn't up to par, especially the salmon. I liked the location and the parking was fine. I won't go back though.

Beth M.

Yelp
Such great food with variety and quality. The mid century modern vibe is right up my alley.

Tiffany C.

Yelp
Love love love the cocktails!!! The fish dishes are amazing. Ahi tuna is slightly over cooked but worth it!

Laura O.

Yelp
This restaurant was fantastic! Great service & amazing food! I can't wait to go back to try more!

Tuana B.

Yelp
We loved the tuna tartar and liar liar! Great ambiance and very relaxing for us. We will be back.

Irina F.

Yelp
Great restaurant. We made reservations for dinner, were seated right away. They have great drink options and good food! I had miso marinated black bass. It was delicious, light dish, you don't feel too stuffed after you finish. My husband ordered shrimp wrap with mango salsa and truffle fries. Very good! Great place!

Stephanie T.

Yelp
Yummy Thai Beef salad. Good ambiance for business was lunch - not too loud, waitstaff not too invasive. They over bilked, but caught and corrected the mistake before I even realized the issue.

Kristi F.

Yelp
Super nice wait staff. Very clean. The cocktails were so good. The food tasted fresh and delicious. Would be a nice place to take a date or have a ladies night. Menu offered a lot of variety.

Mike C.

Yelp
Decided to try something different and I'm really glad I did. The food was excellent and the service was every bit as good. Amanda my server was wonderful!! I had the spicy carrot soup, the cod for my main course and almond cake for dessert. All three were so delicious and perfectly prepared! Just a fantastic restaurant that I will definitely be returning to again!

Lance W.

Yelp
Aggie Class of 2011. Stopped in here Friday night for the first time, coming in for the Miami game. Got the chef's specialty--the miso marinated black cod. Best meal I've ever had in College Station. Also had the candied bacon, which was great! The High & Dry cocktail was a great spin on a Negroni, and the crème brûlée was fantastic! It was so good, I brought the full family in town for the game back early Saturday night for a repeat before the game. While many options on the menu sound delicious, I had to go with the black cod again. Family loved the blue cheese crusted steak and steak kabobs. Overall, a great time. We'll be back next home game!!

Jordana G.

Yelp
Update. Group dinner, very enjoyable. This is still a slow food experience so don't come if you want to be out in an hour. Great cocktails, good wine list, excellent carpaccio appetizer. Carrot soup was great. Goat cheese was great. Unfortunately, my duck sucked. I asked for medium rare and extra crispy skin. I got medium with burnt skin and fat that wasn't rendered. Ick. The desserts were awesome, the almond cake even better than before. The bread pudding was terrific and not so heavy as many of them are. I still enjoy this place but it isn't perfect.

Gail W.

Yelp
Really nice find in Bryan College Station. Great meal, well presented. Airy, nouveau setting. Would certainly return. Recommend Solt for nice dining with a small party.
