What to Eat (and Expect) at Pharrell’s Major Music Festival in D.C. This Weekend | Eater DC

"Set against a monumental backdrop along Independence Avenue, I see Something in the Water as a three-day Juneteenth weekend festival in D.C. (June 17–19) founded by Pharrell Williams that will host 50,000 permitted attendees, 50 major artists, and a tightly curated food row; service hours run with the festival and ticketed attendees can enter and exit as needed, though road closures and Metro track work make public transit and designated rideshare points the practical ways to get there." - Tierney Plumb

Came here after a soccer game last Sunday and had a lovely time with friends. The place was packed (as expected for a sunny summer afternoon) and admittedly a little understaffed for the volume of customers that were coming in but the bartender Keith handled it with grace. He remembered my order every time and made a KILLER spicy marg. I only wish I could have bought a case of the peanut butter white stout to go (shocked it’s not a regular offering - best beer I’ve ever had). Will definitely be back!

Something in the Water is a wonderfully, kitschy brewery! Expect quirky decor, solid beer, and a super friendly vibe. It's the perfect spot for a fun, laid-back time with friends. They even adjust the lighting as the evening goes on. I really liked the sour beers. I think one was blackberry vanilla and another was a gose. Quick tip, there tends to be a few dogs brought by patrons. Which can be great, but I know some people are timid. If you like your breweries with a side of fun, dive in!

Fantastic experience! The beers are super fun and have a wide variety. The food was fantastic. Our bartender was lovely and really seemed to care about the beers. Only noticed the cool merch as we were dashing out, so will need to come back!

We like to stop at this great brewery before attending concerts. Great selection of beers. We prefer IPAs. Last night the place was hopping!! A line up to order beer, that continued for the time we were there. The line moved quickly even though there was only 1 employee! Keith went above and beyond to ensure everyone was served quickly while smiling the whole time. Already looking forward to the next time.

Before I get to the review of the actual brewery, I want to let you know that this isn't the easiest place to find if you're walking. It's not visible from the road. You will have to walk past the BMO bank and make a left at the Wings Up. It'll then be on the right side. Now, the brewery is absolutely worth visiting. The beers are great, the service is friendly and it's just an overall nice location. Their Pale Ale is the one I would drink again if I went back. Smooth, easy drinking and no after taste. The person I went with had a sour and they liked it, which is nice. The kitchen was closed the day but they do sandwiches and wraps if you are looking to eat. There are seats inside and seats outside too. There aren't a whole lot of seats inside, but the area feels spacious. They've also got tall cans to go.

An ideally located brewery with the friendliest staff! I'm not typically a beer person but some of their fruity beers are actually so good 😍 I must say I miss the sandwiches they served last summer but the food from Aloette is always great and I can't wait for other options to come ! A lovely space and their weekly events (especially trivia) are always a great time !

The service is incredible! Keith always has a smile and a joke putting all the patrons at ease. Ian is phenomenal at setting up the events and theme nights; see and a huge Raptors fan. Tea is constantly dropping beer knowledge. The banter with Chaili is hilarious. Itzel is the sweetest. Matty constantly brings the energy. An establishment like this is built on the people that work there. Excellent work!

Yelp
Something in the Water Brewing Co. is a new brewery that opened four months ago in Liberty Village. We've been a few times ... it's a cute spot and we like their beer. Thursday night they had their first ever guided beer tasting and it was led by Steve, one of the owners, and Tea, who is a Level 3 Prud'homme Beer Sommelier as well as one of the brewery's founders. They started us off with tasting included 12 beers of to try ... lagers, IPAs and sours. It was fun to try beers I wouldn't usually drink. They sent everyone with a six-pack of beer of their choice ... lots to choose from! It was a fun night and I hope they do it again!

Yelp
I prefer dark beers (including stouts) & really liked their Pancake Bay Sweet Brunch Stout. It has similarities to the Mocha Stout at Left Field. I bought a 6-pack that also includes the Lee River BlackBerry Vanilla & Nitro Dublin Bay Stout, so will be trying those.

Yelp
This is got to be my new favourite brewery in liberty Village. Living here for the last five years, it's been amazing to find new establishment that actually cater to their community I appreciate that they've mailed all the residents a token to come in and check their place and that's what got me here and I'm gonna keep coming back because their beer is delicious

Yelp
Yesterday a friend and I met at this newest Brewery in Liberty Village. It's small and has several tables and chairs outside in front but they were pretty much filled with other Customers so we sat inside. According to their website, they currently have 8 beers on draft and 5 available for purchase from their onsite store. Both of us ordered the same 4 beers for a flight; the tasters are 4 oz each and cost $3/per. I enjoyed all of my choices and my prevailing sentiment was that they exhibited fresh flavours. The venue doesn't take cash but the service was friendly. It's nice having a new Brewery in LV and I hope to return before long.

Yelp
Great little brewery in liberty village and easy to walk to if you live in the area. Came here for happy hour after work on a Friday - staff are friendly and the drinks were good. Unfortunately they don't serve any food (hope this changes in the future) but they allow you to bring in food from other nearby spots! Drink wise: I enjoyed the Continuum IPA and the Red River Japanese Rice Lager - both were great! $4 happy hour drinks.

Yelp
I first came across Something in the Water when they first just opened their Liberty Village shop in 2022, happened to be in the area at the time and picked up a few of their offerings. Was immediately won over by such brews like their Peach Crisp Berliner Weisse (refreshingly light, sweet and lightly tart like peach ring candy) or their mainstay Blackberry Vanilla Sour. I've been back a few more times to stock up more of their fruity sours and other wares. They made it a mission to be an everyone-welcome space, and the vibe certainly speaks to the young adult Liberty Village crowd. I never actually found a chance to sit down inside however, until a friend needed my car to help transport some furniture he bought from a guy who lives in the neighbourhood. "Well alright, but we ought to have a drink or so because I'm not trekking all the way to the west end just to help haul some old-ass furniture." And so we got caught up sitting at a table outside under the tune of lovely staff service and a few flights of let's-try-everything-they-have-on-tap. Absolutely a refreshing addition to Toronto's craft beer scene.
