Google
Probably the best soft serve ice cream in town. Better than nana’s, yes. My favorite is mango peach swirl, but the ube and macha are very good, with the ahboong (the pastry fish) full of custard, Nutella, taro or sweet red bean, at $6.45 a piece we got a good size of ice cream and pastry of excellent quality with a sweet ending. We ordered to go and it looks like this, Highly recommended!!

Google
This is the best place for taiyaki in Vegas! I loved the Ube and cookies and cream mix; also tried other favores and all were delicious. Definitely recommend for you to enjoy inside away from the heat. They have a nice spot (stairs) for you to sit down and enjoy your ice cream with company! Coming back for sure!

Google
This place is known for these Korean based desserts where the waffle cone is in the form of a fish and it is served with ice cream. The fish waffle can have different fillings inside them based on what you order. I ordered an Ube and Oreo Swirl with a custard filling. You also get a free topping. Quick recommendation, on hot days, just order the fish waffle upside down with a cup. So even if the ice cream starts melting, it wouldn't be messy as it will all be collected in the cup.

Google
I had this ice cream today for the 1st time and it was very good. It’s not as sweet as American ice cream but it still has a nice taste to it, just a lighter version. I had a strawberry upside down ice cream with custard fillings with coconut flakes. It was $6 and some change . The price is just right.

Google
I had the matcha soft serve and my friend had chai tea & milk tea soft serve. SomiSomi has their own signature goldfish-shaped waffle cone that is stuffed with your choice of filling & soft serve. I chose the soft serve in a cup and the Taiyaki filled with matcha custard on the side. They did not disappoint.

I was just with you. I bought an order of five stuffed fish for my son, who suffers from autism. When I got home, I found this disastrous product, and now I'm dealing with my little one's meltdown. Please, you should have competent people in your establishment. It might not be a big deal for other customers to receive what they bought so poorly made, but for some of us, it creates truly difficult situations. I hope you take this comment into account.

Google
So, Im not exactly sure what this is… but it’s pretty tasty. Kinda like soft serve in a fish shaped waffle cone with filling on the inside of the fish… Anyway, it’s a nice little sweet treat after a good meal at one the restaurants next door.

Google
This was the highlight of my trip! I got the upside-down with cookies n’ crème with Nutella. I will definitely be coming back!! It not too expensive either; Paid 6.99 for my upside-down.

Yelp
The treats here are extremely delicious! First time here and I definitely will be back! We had..... Ube Upside-down ah boong with custard filling in the taiyaki and a matcha upside-down ah boong with matcha custard filling. Their signature goldfish-shaped waffle cone stuffed with choice of filling and soft serve is perfect....not too sweet. The service was fast and nice. The place was extremely clean and busy. We didn't have to wait long. Everything was made fresh.

Yelp
Went around 2pm on a Monday. The two young man were attentive and quick at making the waffles. The ice cream choices were very good, not overly sweet. You get a choice of macaron or strawberry which is a nice touch. I enjoyed being able to watch them make things from scratch. This place is always packed as well as the parking lot so come prepared to spend some time there. There is not much seating inside so be ready to hit the road.

Yelp
SomiSomi offers rich frozen custards with assorted fillings, fish shaped fresh made waffles, stuffed fish waffles called Taiyaki, and special beverages. The Chinatown location on Spring Mountain Road is a casual order at the counter type place. They have a community table that you have to stand at. They don't have traditional tables but there is a wooden structure that you can sit on. I enjoyed the rich Ube Custard. I picked Nutella Filling. Somehow they painted the inside of my waffle fish very lightly with Nutella. So my custard wasn't filled. I only got a taste of Nutella if I ate the fish. My husband always hopes for chocolate custard but that was not an option here. He settled for the cookies and cream flavor. He didn't like that this custard was all smooth without cookies. He didn't want a filling so he didn't get a waffle fish. Both of us skipped the extra topping that you can get. Worth a try when in the area.

Yelp
Shanghai Plaza on a Saturday night was busy as always. trying to find a parking spot is a game of cat and mouse. My preferred spot to park is along the road behind the plaza. Luckily a spot opened right away. It was a quick walk to the entrance of Somi Somi, where there was a short line, but it moved quickly. The upside down ah boong is pretty large with a swirl of soft serve, the nutella filled taiyaki and graham cracker crumbs. I loved the strawberry and ube combination. Not super strong on the ube flavor, but something I'd gladly get again. The interior is fairly spacious. There are some counter tops to eat at or stadium seating to sit and enjoy your food.

Yelp
After having a delicious meal at Yummy Rice, I wanted to get some ice cream. SomiSomi came up as a great option at Shanghai Plaza in Las Vegas. It was our last stop for the evening. I couldn't be happier as the ice cream and taiyaki we got were just so yummy. First time ever at SomiSomi. Very yellow and bright ambiance... quite welcoming with a sea or ocean theme! No sit down tables and chairs available, but they do have wall counter tables for standing and stadium style seating for sitting... just a little unique layout compared to other ice cream shops. Only one register for ordering. No kiosk option available. Lady behind the register was okay. I think she may have been annoyed at my indecision on what flavors I wanted. Sometimes we just want to get the best flavors especially when we're a visitor from another state LOL. Anyway, I ended up getting 1 cup of Horchata & Strawberry ice cream, 1 cup of Cookies 'n Cream & Ube ice cream, and 2 taiyakis - 1 nutella and 1 custard. Both ice cream flavors were spectacular... if I had to choose, Horchata & Strawberry was better because I can really taste the strawberry flavor. Their taiyaki is the best I've eaten... it had a crispy crunch to it on the outside and the perfect amount of filling on the inside. Nutella is better than custard which was surprising to me because I normally prefer the custard. Overall staff was very nice and helpful. The young gentleman who placed the toppings on the ice cream was very polite. I asked for his recommendations on toppings... he said oreo crumbs and biscoff crumble and I said let's do it. Great complement to the ice cream. Thank you sir! I don't know if SomiSomi is in So Cal... I'll have to Google it and seek them out for my future CA visits. I'll be back here the next time I'm in Las Vegas for sure. Happy SomiSomi'ing!!!

Yelp
Located at Shanghai Plaza, I feel like this place does not need any introductions. I love going here for ice cream. They are always so busy and sometimes there's a long line but that just goes to show It's good here!. They change the ice cream menu every week to give us new flavors to try. My favorite combos have been milk tea with black sesame. Thai tea with strawberry. But honestly, all of their flavors is great. I also love their Matcha and taro. I love to get my ice cream filled with Nutella. This is one of the best desserts I've had. I will definitely continue to come here no matter how long the line is. But it does move fast! Also the seating arrangements inside is very unique. It has a nice vibe and the staff is also very nice. Thank you somi somi start for a great experience always!

Yelp
First thing when we walk in, they greeted us, they're actually super friendly. It was clean in there. It's not so good and they were fairly quick. I ordered a iced coffee. My nephew ordered a fish comb with Ube and Nutella inside the cup along with Oreo, cookies on top. Next we ordered taiyaki, we chose the 5 piece, the fillings were Nutella, red bean, cheese, Ube, cream, they were very good when fresh!!! As they were cooking they smelled so yummy!! The setting is real simple. It has like that under the sea fee or yellow, submarine theme and ocean like theme. Haha

Yelp
This our new dessert spot while shopping in the Plaza. We stopped in mid week- so we had easy access to parking. Im sure it is this area is booming over the weekend. Service was super friendly and counter attendant was very patient with me. I asked so many questions about the flavors because they all looked delish! I love that this Korean dessert spot features lactose free based desserts giving us more options than regular dessert shops ! We chose three different flavored desserts that were all generous. I specifically ordered Taro flavored with custard in my waffle fish and a little macaroon. LOVED ! Have fun with the seating and space as it gives you a different opportunity for photo ops that makes it fun! HAPPY SHOPPING !!

Yelp
The ice cream portions are always so big I could never finish one by myself. I wish they would let you combine two different flavors of your choice instead of being limited to the one that is already mixed with the machine. Cute place to go for dessert after dinner in the area.
google avatar

Deanna N.

Yelp
SomiSomi is located in one of the most popular shopping centers in Chinatown. You'd strictly come here for dessert, but it's worth it! It's like a soft serve ice cream with the option of a fish shaped waffle. You can pick if you want your ice cream in a cup with the cone on top, just ice cream, or in the fish cone itself. Once you select your flavor, you get to pick your toppings and a choice of macaron or strawberry. Very unique flavors which makes this place so good! You order at the counter and can sit down. They have decent service and a chill atmosphere.

Yelp
Slowly expanding via franchising, now with two locations in Las Vegas, SomiSomi specializes in Taiyaki with or without Soft Serve and thanks to fair prices the shop inside Shanghai Plaza has performed well with lines present from open to close since its debut. Best known for AhBoong, Soft Serve in a fish-shaped Waffle with filling, guests place their order and wait briefly amidst colorful décor before digging in as up-tempo pop plays overhead. A "do one thing and do it well concept," the Taiyaki made fresh-to-order, "Upside Down AhBoong" are prudent for those who wish to enjoy more slowly and whether one selects Strawberry or something more original like Black Sesame the flavors are mild yet pure with homogeneous creaminess.

Yelp
Their ice cream is amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And they have such good scenery and good places to sit also my old review got like deleted somehow so this is why this one is not so long
google avatar

Yelp
I love this place! My grandma loves this place haha Its a nice treat any time of the year! The only thing I would change is the strength of the green tea for their Ice Cream

Yelp
Get the ube soft serve! Its sooooo good. Like a vanilla nutty flavor! With the lil baked fishy on top. Its heaven

Cara B.

Yelp
Definitely my go to place for dessert if I am in the area. I equally love matcha and ube, so I am glad I have the option to mix it. We got our ice cream quickly, so the workers are pretty on it. I do love that there's a place to sit inside, especially when it's super hot outside. We of course always need to order some Taiyaki before we leave.
google avatar

Michael G.

Yelp
Upside down Ah Bong filled with Nutella is my favorite. There are days where the swirls are just perfect. I had gotten a Matcha & Ube swirl and that was perfect for me. I don't go too crazy with the toppings, I get matcha powder and Oreo powder. In Shanghai plaza, this place is connect with Sul & Beans. They do have a place to sit down but if you want a table it's a standing table. Definitely a must try if you're in the area.
google avatar

CiCi C.

Yelp
Location: Shanghai Plaza. Parking can be crazy here. Food: Soft serve with taiyaki. Tasty and good portions. Just a little expensive for what it is. You can customize the smear inside the Taiyaki. We did custard. The taiyaki is tasty but the soft serve was pretty ordinary. Prefer Maido's Matcha soft serve.
google avatar

Lawrence C.

Yelp
I've been here twice now after dinner in China Town, it's definitely a great quick dessert option. I love that you can customize the ice cream to your liking and the swirl combinations are interesting. I am a sucker for any Taro/Ube flavors, so definitely a plus that they have that here. The cone is also very cute and very tasty! This is another one of those restaurants that have that weird staircase seating fixture that I'm starting to see pop up in a lot of cafes and dessert places. I'm not a fan of it, but people really utilize those spaces. I prefer sitting in a chair. So I end up standing every time I'm here. It also gets really busy here at night, so be prepared to wait for parking and to wait inside, although service is pretty quick. I definitely recommend the upside down option, as it is the cleanest way to eat without getting drippings everywhere. My husband had the cold brew mixed with the ice cream and was not a fan, so that is something not for everyone. I thought it was okay, but not a lot of the flavors go well with coffee. Other than that, the ice cream itself is very good!
google avatar

Alfonso D.

Yelp
By far the best ice cream I have ever tasted TRUST me you won't be disappointed the flavors on the ice cream so delicious , I recommend everyone to come here the service was fast and easy .
google avatar

Lin G.

Yelp
When we were done at a dinner, we stopped by here per the birthday friend's request. Somisomi? Sounds tantalizing and naughty. It turns out it's soft serve ice cream, or Korean dessert waffle fish with various fillings. I first heard of this waffle fish business from Costco (yes I am cool goddammit), and got their frozen pack of red bean filled waffle fish, which you can microwave and I actually highly recommend. So I decided to try the "real deal" here. I got a pack of 2 for $4.50. The fishes are bigger than the frozen Costco ones but filling wasn't particularly impressive. It wasn't horribly skimpy either but didn't leave me impressed. But these days $4.50 is virtually 45 cents from 3 years ago so I'm not expecting much. Kudos for having places to sit, and a spacious, brightly lit space. The soft serve ice cream was presented nicely and everyone seemed to enjoy it. It's a fun place to stop by for a fun little snack.
google avatar

Taylor G.

Yelp
My favorite soft serve ice cream shop in town! The ice cream is always soft and creamy and the taiyaki is made fresh! The staff are always friendly and service is quick. The shop is so cute, lots of different places for pictures and seating!

Stephanie D.

Yelp
My son said it was the best dessert he's ever had. He wants to go back already and get more. The store is nicely decorated and has cool stadium seating with tables and chairs in the back.
google avatar

Grace W.

Yelp
Love Somisomi soft ice-cream! I am from NYC and we don't have one there. When I see it, I always get one when travel :)
google avatar

vita f.

Yelp
Love this place! It's always crowfed though so prepare to wait for your order. When you walk in it's smells so good and once you get your item it's heaven. The music is catchy and loud it sounds like you're in a night club. The staff is nice bathroom sort of small they share it with another vendor which sort of is bad because you have to wait in line. I think they need an intercom to shout your name because the music playing is so loud you can hardly hear the person shouting. The decor is simple and it's a great desert place. Located in Chinatown.
google avatar

Cristen S.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I always love stopping by this place for an after dinner treat! They serve soft-serve ice cream with a filled fish-shaped waffle cone (Ah-boong)! I always love filling my fish with custard filling but my boyfriend also loves the Nutella option! The soft serve is pretty good but the ah-boong is what makes the dessert worthwhile!! You also get to add whatever toppings you want on top! I love the fruity pebbles option. They also top with a macaron or strawberry! I always leave full because it's a good size portion. The place inside is small, similar to most ice cream shops you go to but always smells good. The service was decent as well as it never takes too long despite always having people there. Prices seemed pretty average for specialty ice cream shops in Vegas. Would definitely recommend checking it out if you haven't and will definitely be back!
google avatar

Brad D.

Yelp
Place is great. Feel like some food you can get grilled cheese, taro or redbean toasted for a starter. The selection of flavors for ice cream vary not sure how often they change
google avatar

Remy G.

Yelp
PROS - Easy free parking in front of the plaza with a variety of other businesses to visit - Chewy mochi dough in the shape of a cute fish for the taiyaki - Reasonable pricing for the taiyaki (2 for $4.50) - Seating inside for customers - Bathrooms available for customers TIPS - May be a bit of a wait (10 minutes) depending on crowd ADDITIONAL NOTEWORTHY MENU ITEMS - Oreo flavor is a cookie crumble flavor - Hotteok is a peanut crunch with a very sweet cinnamon-flavored syrup-like filling
google avatar

Andy C.

Yelp
Tyler is EPIC He served the best Taiyaki and ice cream. Will come again just for Tyler
google avatar

Becca H.

Yelp
Yummy yummy! I always recommend SomiSomi for their delicious ice cream and Taiyaki. The rotation flavors are always so good. This time I got half cookies n cream and half red bean!! So flavorful. I always recommend getting the Taiyaki filled with custard as it is so good!
google avatar

Melissa R.

Yelp
Omg I'm so excited I finally tried this place! My friends and I were craving dessert after dinner the other night and this place popped up. I got the Oreo cookie with a waffle fish and cookie butter crumble... it was SO good! There's lots of other choices and combinations to choose from & the menu made it very easy to order. The service was great & all the employees were smiling and enjoying their job. They had a cute area with bleacher-like seats to sit with your group and eat, as well as a couple tables to stand by. Definitely can't wait to go back and enjoy more flavors!
google avatar

Jonathan K.

Yelp
Taiyaki + Froyo can never go wrong. And this place does it so well. The Taiyaki is made in front of you, so it's always fresh and hot. The Froyo flavors are also always changing, to keep you on your toes. Employees are helpful and welcoming. This is a great place for all ages to enjoy a late-night dessert, and go with some friends to chat, eat good sweet, and have a good time. Tip: Ask for the froyo in a bowl + taiyaki on top, because they give you more froyo that way.
google avatar

Courtney R.

Yelp
Ohhh maaaaan, this is the cutest little ice cream shop! The staff was very friendly and helpful with explaining all of their options. They had a lot of different soft serve and filling flavors. I believe I got the "upside down Ah-boong" I went with the Ube soft serve and had the goldfish waffle cone filled with Taro! You get to choose your toppings and I got the toasted coconut and a macaron - It was sooo yummy. Such a cute little Korean-inspired shop! We'll definitely go back :)
google avatar

FoodiesRwe ..

Yelp
Came here on a late night wish the portion sizes for the cup was bigger but it definitely hit the spot on a late night run. I would definitely come back shop is nice and clean, service was fast and friendly.
google avatar

Scotia L.

Yelp
We came late at night and it was still pretty busy which gave a good sign, we ordered the matcha & cookies and cream swirl soft serve and it was creamy and smooth and taste like the real deal, it was delectable. We also ordered the Taiyaki which is a filled waffle in the shape of a fish which I thought was so creative, I got the Nutella filled and my boyfriend got the custard filled and both were immaculate; had a crunchy outside a chewy creamy filled inside, warm and fresh made right in front of you.
google avatar

Kristine N.

Yelp
I love somi somj and I've been a handful of times to the eastern location and it's spotless in there. But the China town location was a let down. The inside is just dirty and not clean at all. If you go sit down at the weird benches they look like they haven't been cleaned in years and have dust/ dirt every where. The bathroom had the worst smell ever and looks like it hasn't been cleaned in a while. The soft serve was good but the actual taiyaki was falling apart maybe because it wasn't cooked enough Next time I'll just stick to the eastern location :(
google avatar

Shaheen K.

Yelp
Nutella filled somi somi is so delicious. It was my first time and they were amazing helpnping out which flavors to get. The ambience was nice and calm. I want to go again because it's so delicious
google avatar

Hanna S.

Yelp
This place is amazing! The waffles are super fresh and crunchy. It's nice that they don't charge extra for toppings and that they have Biscoff crumb as an option. The interior is cute, too. My only complaint is that I couldn't taste the Oreos in the cookies and cream flavor. Skip it and get ube or strawberry.
google avatar

Jennifer T.

Yelp
I used to come here all the time back when Somi Somi first opened. It was always very packed and it felt like they didn't really have a system to handle the crowds. It also just took a very long time to get through everyone's order and I felt really bad for the staff as they looked stressed. Other than that, the ice cream always taste yummy as well as the taiyaki is so good!
google avatar

Julie C.

Yelp
Definitely a MUST!! My family and I always enjoy stopping by for an Ahboong (upside down) and some Taiyaki to take home (Tip: if they get soggy on the way home or the next morning, put it on a light toast in the toaster oven and it's perfectly crunchy again). It's a super cute place, some seating is available, BUT at times it does get super packed, especially in the summer. Service is great but when they get busy it can take a bit to get your order.
google avatar

Lorenzjay C.

Yelp
Such a cute place to grab some delicious ice cream! Always love visiting when I am walking around Shanghai Plaza. The store smells lovely, adorning cute decals on the wall. There is a unique seating area towards the back that I always love hanging around in. The staff are quite friendly and definitely energetic. All the flavors of ice cream are great, with my favorite being the Milk Tea. So sweet and delightful. The Cheese Taiyaki also always hits the spot for a savory bite. So delectable!
google avatar

Danielle S.

Yelp
Don't come for me because I really don't like cones or pastries or anything like that. I just wanted some soft serve! SOMISOMI is in the same plaza as Pepper Lunch, so we came here after having dinner. There were four or five people in front of us, but the line moved quickly. Most people were getting the taiyaki so we got ours pretty much right after ordering. The space is very cute, with bleacher style seats and photo-ready wallpaper complete with hashtags. I got the cookies and cream and chocolate swirl topped with Oreos, and my boyfriend's daughter got matcha and milk tea with fruity pebbles. The soft serve was really great: not too heavy or rich but still full flavor. I couldn't finish mine because I was stuffed but they do have tops that allow you to take it to go.
google avatar

Nicole Z.

Yelp
I was nearby so I finally got to try this place! I got the upside-down with Cookies and Cream, Nutella, and gram crackers as a topping. Service was fast and tasty! Will try more when I'm in the neighborhood!!

George E.

Yelp
We were in Vegas for the weekend and were told about an amazing Japanese ice cream shop with homemade cones. Somisomi was packed with kids and family on a Saturday night. Soft serve ice cream with multiple flavors and in fish shaped cones are their specialty. You can add toppings, filling injected inside or mixed ice cream flavors fused together in a twist pattern. The prices are reasonable and the facility has bleacher like seating. It is definitely a youngster hangout. The presentation was good, glass windows so you can visualize them constructing the cones and tons of toppings. I did not find the ice cream to have any flavor. It was very bland. I am excited we tried Somisomi, but don't feel the urge to return.
google avatar

Helen Z.

Yelp
Loved this place in LA and were glad to have found it in Vegas too! I got a twist with ube and Thai tea which was delicious, and we also got a pack of taiyaki which were perfect and had mochi inside with the filling. There was only a small line which went fast. I also got a cute pin for my sister.
google avatar

Cristina G.

Yelp
We decided to get a late night treat so it was nice to know that this place is open late. The experience was pleasant and the servers were kind and helpful. The Somi Somi fish was fresh and baked very good. The ice cream flavors were good as well. The counters needed more attention so a quick wipe down near the stairs area where you wait for your order could have been addressed but we found a cleaner spot. We enjoyed our ice cream experience and will be coming back for more. Yum!
google avatar

Irv W.

Yelp
In Las Vegas, there's always a good time for a cold dessert. That's why we couldn't resist stopping by the vibrant SomiSomi shop in China Town for a special Korean treat. SomiSomi sets itself apart with its adorable fish-shaped waffles, famously known as Taiyaki. But there's more to it than just the shape! Our Taiyaki was filled with the delightful combination of Nutella and Oreo soft serve ice cream. What's truly unique about SomiSomi is the Ah-Boong combo treat. Imagine cutting open your Taiyaki and using it as a flavorful ice cream cone. It's a delightful blend of tradition and innovation. We must mention the excellent service and the bright, colorful atmosphere at SomiSomi. If you're a foodie looking for something extraordinary, give SomiSomi Ice Cream a try. We promise, you won't regret it!
google avatar

Mary Y.

Yelp
The ice cream was really good. The inside is super cute. The matcha and ube beling together! The service is good and fast! Definitely would come back and try more of the fish bread. The nutella inside was good.
google avatar

Charlie T.

Yelp
I finally got a chance to try this place out. I've been meaning to go, but something always comes up. The place has some really good soft serve flavors and also taiyaki snacks. The soft serve was very well made and not too sweet. I enjoyed the Thai tea with cookies n cream swirl inside a ube filled taiyaki. I also tried a bit of the ube and strawberry swirl and that was also good. Overall, good place to grab dessert after dinner.
google avatar

Anida M.

Yelp
All I can say is, HOW HAVE I NOT GONE SOONER? We stopped by for a cool treat for the kiddos after lunch and tried the Ah-boong and taiyaki, both with Nutella because the kids are obsessed. It was fun watching how they make the waffles and see them add the fillings. We got it with cookies and creme soft serve, and the kids were so excited to pick their own toppings. I love how they have the option to put it in a cup with the waffle on top for those extra hot days where things melt too fast. The waffle is the perfect texture, and slightly sweet. I still crave it now so I have to head down to San Diego to get my fix soon! I can't wait to try their other flavors of fillings!
