Somisomi

Stopped by after dinner for dessert. My usually go to is the soft serve. You can get this different ways this time around I got the upside down Ah Boong (served in a cup). Many flavors to choose from but I like the basic vanilla with Nutella fill. Ice cream is soft and not too sweet, the Nutella adds that extra sweetness and the Taiyaki balances the two flavor profiles with soft and chewy. The rest of the family prefers the Taiyaki Nutella 5 pack, which is their go to. I went during the grand opening a while back and they use to have the chairs but the place is so small there’s only stand up counters. We usually just hang outside because there’s one of those city container park right up front.

I tried somisomi for the first time with my best friend the other day and I had heard a lot about it from other people but omg I didn’t expect it to be so good!! I got a limited time swirl i believe, matcha and milk tea with a matcha filling inside the fish and matcha powder and biscotti powder on top and it was so delicious. Normally I don’t like ice cream but i seriously enjoyed this so much and would definitely come back again and get the same thing, just maybe not the fish waffle as I feel it wasn’t that great nor the filling. The inside was super simple, nothing too much, I wish it had seating as my friend and I had to sit in the car and eat but i understand since the space is small. The worker that helped us was sweet and very quick with our order aswell! Overall a super great soft serve spot!

Such a unique dessert spot! The service was great - Char was quick, friendly, and her smile was infectious! The restaurant doesn’t have any seating which I found odd but it’s open and airy. Enjoyed it!

Our first time here. Cool, different atmosphere. There is no sitting (no chairs) to eat inside. Only a long standing table. The ice-cream was good. Less sweet than what we're used to. The fish part is basically like a waffle. I got the cookies and cream with crushed oreos and graham crackers on top. You can get it, in a cup or the fish as the "cone".

SomiSomi is hands down my favorite ice cream spot in Sugar Land! Their soft-serve is incredibly smooth and creamy, and that adorable fish-shaped waffle—so cute and delicious. The combo is just perfect. Swear I’ll be back again and again!

The ice cream tastes great, though there aren’t many options, but the real issue is the service. The staff are very pushy, rushing you to order without giving time to decide. Since they wear masks, it’s hard to hear them, and when you ask to repeat, they seem rude or impatient. The soft serve is worth a try, but they seriously need to improve customer service, space, and overall experience.

Tried a few Ahboong desserts at SomiSomi in Sugar Land, and they were amazing! The sweet corn and matcha flavors were standout favorites. I especially loved the black sesame filling—so rich and flavorful! The texture of the taiyaki was perfect, and the ice cream was smooth and creamy. Great spot for a unique and delicious dessert experience. Definitely recommend for anyone looking to satisfy their sweet tooth!
