SOMS Ristorante

I was planning to visit this restaurant since they joined the Michelin guide and definitely I was not disappointed. The environment was very elegant and modern. During the restaurant renovation (around 2020) the property decided to keep the old historic floor and now you can see this beautiful contrast between the classic floor and the modern environment all around. The menu changes based on season in order to use seasonal products. I chose the tasting menu “identità Soms” which was an outstanding surprise dish after dish. I loved that the food was excellent yet so relatable. Every dish was creative and simple at the same moment where you can taste all the fresh, high quality and local ingredients revisited in a modern way. Some dishes like the “Tavo beans, oysters and wild herbs” can be definitively a one star Michelin level dish. The service was very professional, attentive and polite. Explanations for each dish were delivered clear. In my opinion It is one of the best tasting experiences in the Pescara area. All very balanced in terms of flavors and textures, where all the local products used in the various processes are enhanced and processed very well, keeping an eye on tradition and looking towards to the future.

Truly amazing food here, attention to detail and subtle taste

From the moment I walked through the doors, I was enveloped in an ambiance that transported me to the heart of Abruzzo, Italy. The restaurant's warm and inviting atmosphere perfectly complemented the rich flavors and aromas that awaited me. The interior was tastefully decorated with rustic elements, creating an authentic and charming setting. The attentive staff members, dressed in traditional Italian attire, greeted me with genuine smiles and made me feel instantly welcome. To accompany my meal, the sommelier recommended a delightful selection of wines from the Abruzzo region. I opted for a Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, and it perfectly complemented the robust flavors of my meal. The sommelier's knowledge and passion for wine added an extra layer of enjoyment to the dining experience. In conclusion, Ristorante Abruzzo is a hidden gem that captures the essence of Abruzzo's culinary heritage with remarkable finesse. The tantalizing flavors, extensive wine selection, and impeccable service all contribute to an unforgettable dining experience. Whether you are a dedicated food enthusiast or simply seeking an extraordinary evening out, Ristorante Abruzzo is the perfect destination to indulge in the true taste of Italy. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Despite only the restaurant at less than 10% capacity, the waiters have the audacity to say they're full at 2030hrs, and turned us away. Strongly recommend to book in advance otherwise fancy the disappointment of dismal service and being shoved out the restaurant. Edit: post restaurant reply, we walked around several hours later and the restaurant was moderately full but still had empty tables inside and out. Their lip service reply speaks of their arrogance
