The food here is incredible and drinks are well crafted and delicious! The tacos are a must try, ask for their house salsa, you won't be disappointed! Can't wait to go back and try more!

Eclectic new vibes here with some great comfort food. Drinks were on point.. we loved the brussel sprouts and burger.. upgrade to the truffle fries if you're a fan! Wish I ordered the late night noodz, it looked like everyone else enjoyed them. If we ever come back to the area we will return!

Great drinks, fun atmosphere and yummy fries. Definitely a favorite late night hang out. They have the best fries you'll find anywhere and probably the best burger you'll find in the L/A area. It's a bar why am I not talking about the drinks? Alright, the drinks are great, the specials are awesome. Honestly, I don't have a single bad word to say about this place.

My husband and I stopped in on a Saturday night because we wanted to listen to some.good live music, have some drinks, and a bite to eat. This place was just what we needed to have a fun date night. The food was on point, the staff were laid back and friendly, and we listened to Jay Larkin doing live music and he was great. I watched the staff carefully put together some great cocktails with all the fine details. We were comfortable sitting at the bar conversing with each other and others and we will definitely be back for some more live music and food.

Here for a business trip not to far from home. Second time here for a business trip and found this place to be way better than the last time I was here. No need to mention the last place I ended going to at this point. I had originally did a search for "whiskey bar near me" while sitting in my room across the river in Auburn, Maine. Sonder & Dram came up as the third or forth option... So I dived into the website first and said to myself, "Self"! Let's try this place! I like my bourbons and food that pair well without saying anything either. I ended up parking on Canal St. Didn't pay for it but that could be a different story if my company gets a bill, maybe. I started off with a "Bourbon Renewal" and it was good yet a bit on the sweet side. Moved on to an "Old Fashioned " along with my meal, "Pork Carnitas Tacos" Absolutely a great choice! So flavorful and filling! Ended up getting another Old Fashioned and had a quick convo with the bartender, sorry I forgot his name🤔. Asked him his preferred bourbon and what drink he would make with it... Whatever the hell it IS... I'm still here and savoring the flavor! I don't think you can really go wrong here. Small yet simple joint for excellent drinks and easy going food with great portions. You will more than likely be sharing with others! @Sonder &Dram - keep up the great work here! Unreal. This place is truthfully outstanding. Every bite and every sip was delectable and it was so impressive how quickly everything came out, especially when it didn’t compromise the quality of the food. I had the bourbon reveal and old fashioned- both were perfection. My husband and I then shared the bacon cheeseburger with truffle fries. The truffle fries were the best truffle fries either of us have had. The burger was cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. We also shared the summer squash and corn quesadilla which we added BBQ chicken too- delicious! Lastly, we had their one dessert which was by far the best ganache either of us have had- topped with the perfect touch of salt. Beyond the food and drinks, the atmosphere was incredible. Friendly staff, unique design, amazing lighting and a killer playlist. Couldn’t recommend this place more.

Been going to Sonder and Dram since they opened in 2018. Absolutely one of my favorite places in Lewiston and surrounding areas. They have flourished and adapted so much as a small upscale (still casual) bar. Cocktails are some of the best I've ever had. Shout out to the bartender Katrin and all the staff, food is amazing and fresh. Forever will love this place, worth every penny. Love you guys

So... I work at Bates college and there I saw a nice flyer about this new place in town. Since I am a burger lover I decided to go and take a look. The place is cozy, warm and it's well decorated. I loved the vintage Lewiston collage they have on the wall. The bathroom also has a nice decorated wall and it is clean, but its mirror looks old and kinda dirty (wicked unhygienic). So I would give maybe 3.5 stars to the place. On the other hand, the burger, yummy! It was amazing. As I said, I consider myself a burger lover (my contributions and reviews are 80% about burger places) and this burger has one of the best breads I have ever tried! It's so crunchy and tasty. I loved it. I didn't like the home-made sauce, but the burger itself was great. The service, though, wasn't that friendly, I think they were a little bit busy, we ordered our food and after 15 minutes they asked us if we had ordered yet... So we ordered, but they never told the chef, so we waited a long time. I highly recommend this place for a good burger. The price is fair, taking into account the quality of the burger.

The first thing we thought walking in was... dive bar. The menu is limited and we thought oh no. We tried the Brussels and poutine fries as well as an old fashioned. Everything and I mean everything tasted awesome. The poutine was so rich and flavorful but also not over whelming. With the crunchy fries cheese and pulled pork it was an amazing dish. The Brussels were sweet and a touch of savory as well as being slightly charred. Reminded me more of collard greens but very tasty. The old fashioned... If your not a whisky drinker then it's probably not for you. I enjoy my whisky neat so sweet drinks aren't my thing however my better half likes those sweet drinks so we tried one. Then two then a third waiting for the pots de crem. The old fashioned a were a perfect blend of whisky's and syrup or whatever they used. Very smooth, very good. The desert, pots de crem, is some of the best chocolate cream I've ever had. Really truly didn't expect this little place to be worth it but I cant wait to go back. You really should stop by and get something to eat. You won't be sorry.

This small bar in Lewiston has prosecco on tap, always a good sign. The beer selection is good, the wine selection is limited but acceptable. The bar tender knows his stuff. The food selection is a bit limited but we have liked everything we have tried. The tacos and popcorn are current favorites. Staff are friendly and competent. Make sure to check out the bathroom wallpaper.

Me and my husband have been coming here since the place opened. They always have a fun rotation of season drinks and specials, with an ever expanding menu. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. The bar itself is super cool, with a very unique vibe for the area.

Why oh why was Sonder not open when I attended Bates? So many rough nights at the Goose, struggling through Beast Light, when I could have enjoyed the amazing creative cocktails offered here. This is easily the best cocktail bar in the Lewiston area, and likely the whole region. It has a cool vibe, but even my naturally stiff and awkward self felt at home. Extra props to the cocktail menu labeling the flavor profile of each drink, utilizing annotation in a manner that puts my college thesis to shame. I did not try the food in my brief visit, but the pub-like menu would be ideal comfort food. The staff was also some of the nicest in recent memory. The area around the bar might be a little sketchy, but who knows, maybe the gentleman in the alley was just buying sugar from his friend? Baking emergencies are the worst. I really really hope this business is doing well, and can't wait to come back!

If you're looking for great food in the area, drive south and go to Flux in Lisbon. Their chef has 100 times the talent. If you're looking for local food and beverages go to The Pub at Baxter Brewing in the Bates Mill Complex in Lewiston. Sonder and Dram is a drag. I recently lost my father, the morning after the Lewiston Shootings. I took a group of friends there - a military veteran, a teacher, and a nurse after burying my father up the road to order some french fries because after treating 30 of my family members to a celebration of life, I myself had not eaten a thing. The bartender made a rash decision and decided not to serve me food or beverages. After asking him where my drinks and food were, I was told I was "cut off." He had mistaken my, yes, very emotional state, for intoxication. Instead of taking care of your community and simply asking what had happened, or, can I just get your fries, the bartender determined his decision-making was righteous above all. Unfortunately, he was wrong. I'll not forgive him and I will not return to Sonder. In fact, I'll be sure to tell this story, over and over again. Bartenders used to be there for you on your worst day. This pretentious establishment should take a look in the mirror at who they hire to represent themselves and their community.

Servers turned out to be just a bunch of chill guys. Cocktails are fantastic and anything from the kitchen will be delicious

Great food, tends to be fancy delicious pub fare, amazing craft cocktails, nice beer and wine selection. Service tends to be a bit on the slow side, kind of their niche though. Good things come to those who are patient. Ambiance is giving a sheik speakeasy vibe with a vintage meets modern decor.

The environment is unique and warm and encapsulates some of the local history of Lewiston /Auburn Maine. The staff was welcoming and kind. The waitress that we had was genuine and knowledgeable. Sonder & Dram offer a 3 course meal with starter, main course, and desert options for a sensible price. Every course of the meal came out in a timely manner and was DELICIOUS and well prepared. And how could this place be better... Oh Yeah! The cocktails were flavorful, simple, and light and well mixed. I will most definitely be revisiting this establishment and telling friends and family to go there for a premiere meal in Lewiston, ME.

Although this place has been around for a couple of years this was our first trip. This basement pub has a very trendy vibe. They had a great specialty drink list. The beer list was small but they had a few very good selections. I guess that's all you need really. We were here pretty early in the evening And had most of the place to ourselves, but they seem to have a few regulars hanging around. The waitstaff and bartenders were very attentive and happily answered questions about their menu and their place. We opted for a snack of hand cut french fries with garlic aïoli mayo. These fries were divine! Their menu is pretty small overall, though. Free Wi-Fi. Lots of outlets. If they were open earlier in the day I might try to work from here sometime.

Ok ok.. I AM SORRY. I started this review months ago and after dropping my sister off (designated driving saves lives y'all!!!) I finally decided I needed to write my review. Yelper Fail!! First of all, the place is cute - in a very Wednesday Addams kind of way. Like, don't we all wanna be dark and moody and witty and well crafted? Even for a little while? Well if not, just don't go. Because that's exactly what this place is. A dark, moody, witty, well crafted... I wanna say bar- but it's more. Not quite a full on restaurant. Not a night club, but they do jam at night. A gathering spot. A watering hole. This is a small place. Quality over quantity. The kitchen is basically open to the bar. The bar is basically the whole joint. The whole joint is in the basement of a building. You could easily miss it. But, don't miss it. Go with a laid back crowd. Enjoy the heck out of their fabulous drinks. Get a bite to eat. My sis goes all the time and gets grilled cheese and booze. What a combo, amirite? I can't even remember what all we got to eat when I went, but the fact that I have repeatedly said "Al, write that dang review!" It's enough to make me go back and get more food and take good pictures and write good words. What I DO remember: chef: SUPER attentive. Hand delivered LOTS of food to LOTS of tables. Delivered silverware and napkins. (If you know how kitchens work you know that DOESN'T HAPPEN. He's a UNICORN.) bartender(s): well rounded, a loud one, a quiet one. Both knew the drinks without looking at the menu, didn't need to use a recipe book and made multiple drinks at once all while tending the whole joint. atmosphere: it reminds me of a deep conversation, does that make sense? If not.. just go see. It's kinda like.. the Addams Family meets the Central Perk, minus the coffee and the tv references. Just go.

place charges $25 a drink. The group I was with was mortified, none of us will ever return. The place is clearly struggling.

We stopped in for a drink on a Saturday evening and were immediately greeted by a friendly doorman. The overall atmosphere was welcoming and felt like a place you could grab a drink and talk with your friends. They had a nice selection of local brews and drink options. I look forward to going back for the food as it smelled and looked delicious. My favorite part - the barstools. That's right, the stools. They are comfortable and have foot pegs placed in such a way that you don't have to be 6 feet tall to sit comfortably while maintaining the blood flow to your feet.

The atmosphere is very chill. An easy place to make one's "spot". With laughing hosts, a very capable bar tender, and a small but stellar menu, Sonder and Dram will definitely be my new drink and dinner spot!

Food and drinks were expensive and gross. The popcorn is 5$. I definitely won't be back.

Maine native here who moved to the big city. Love coming back to visit and trying new places and supporting business in my home state. Had a wonderful meal here. The service was pleasant and attentive, the drinks were fun and well balanced and the food was incredible. Someone cleary put some thought and effort into providing a memorable experiences for their guest. Wish them the best and will be back soon!

I love everything about this place! It's like the hole in the wall, but really a hidden gem. The staff is terrific. The food amazing, the drinks - it's alcohol, but not bottom shelf, so GOOD. What sets this place apart for me is the atmosphere! Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra play in the background as you enjoy a terrific vibe, food, drink, and the company of friends! Love this place.

Yes. It's a new shiny toy in Lewiston. Door man-I am over 40 & you can tell so let's have a laugh as you card me. Yes. Mr Personality, you are the first face people see when they come through the door. Your sour face was a sign of what was to come. Bartenders-so you run a seating chart where each bar tender gets every other party. Let me tell you. I wish the guy with the apron was our bartender. We saw you checking on our drinks and need for service. Wish you could have helped me. Sour face girl w the glasses-you took too long to take our order (the bar wasn't full). You never came back to ask how our $10 drinks were. Waitress 101 hint: when you hand someone menus, come back to ask if we want food. We were half way through our drinks before I had to call out to you. Food-Damn I wanted the cauliflower to be good. "Fried" on your menu should say pan fried. Buffalo sauce should say "tastes like we soaked it in spicy sauce overnight." It was sauced so heavy that I couldn't taste my drink (that the waitress didn't ask for a refill). That joke of a side of Bleu cheese. Hahah. Give us a real side. I hope you aren't another flash in the pan of Lewiston. Step up your game. You could be a good thing. You aren't that good so lose the attitude and fix your food.

This is an interesting spot in downtown Lewiston. We visited this establishment early on a holiday. When we walked in, we said it felt like we were in Portland. As the evening went on, our experience turned more sour. The beer was really good. There were decent local, craft draft and can/bottles available. The prices for the beers were reasonable. Unfortunately, the food was just passable. The service was okay. We had the fried cauliflower, but it was a little greasy, maybe the oil wasn't hot enough? Not crispy, but the sauce was quite yummy. We also had the grilled cheese. The bread for the grilled cheese wasn't homemade, we saw it come out of the freezer. Also, it was burnt and they tried to hide the burnt side on the bottom instead of making a new one. When we pointed out the problem, there was never an apology offered. They did make us a new grilled cheese, but it tasted like butter more than anything else. We love to see interesting restaurants come to L/A, but they need to pay attention to the quality of product that they're putting out. For now, if we want friendly servers we'll go to other spots in L/A and if we want great small plates with great beer we'll head in to Portland.

(We came after dinner just for drinks so, didn't try the food this time but will definitely be back again.) Definitely worth a look see ...

Just what Lewiston needed. Pretty cool little spot. Good diverse beer selection, and the drinks were creative and strong. Could use more seating, maybe get rid of the "shelf bars" around the room and replace them with more high top tables. Ended up not getting food here due to no place to sit, so we had to go somewhere else, which is unfortunate because the food we did see coming out looked good. The volume of the music was a little loud to try to have a conversation without yelling. Will be back.

The dirty martini is a must have along with the toasted cheese sandwich! Loved the vibe the restaurant had. Great addition to the Lewiston area!

Saw an invite for a wine tasting. Decided to check the place out prior to attending an event. Definitely a pub with many high end alcohol choices with an extremely non typical, very limited, food menu. Definitely a worthwhile stop for a drink or two alone or with a friend. Comfortable, well padded, bar stools with foot rails populate the bar, the six high top two person tables, and section of mini counter along the wall. Was a little put off by having to provide a credit card in advance to get a drink and then dinner. Found out at the end of the meal that this is a bar service only establishment. What appeared to be a server dropped off menus, returned after a LONG time took our order and did serve it only to be told by another associate while waiting for dessert, you do realize this is a bar service only establishment. Perhaps a sign saying order here or the person dropping the menu indicating the process would help. We had burgers and fries. Both were excellent. They double fry hand cut fries,they are hot and crisp! They serve them with some garlic aioli on the side, very tasty. The burger was served on a nice bun, was cooked to order and delicious. Their pickles and sauce are very nice. The New York cheese cake was excellent, the trifle with chocolate moose, brownies, strawberries would have been much better without mint mixed in. I doubt we shall ever go back. When I go out, I prefer to be served. I have no desire to get up and place orders at the bar, to have them delivered. If you sit at the bar, this is not an issue. The place is clean, the drinks and food were all very good. I enjoyed the Crown Royal Flush, and my Wife enjoyed her Cosmo. While they did serve us, it was made clear that is not how it is typically done.

Great bar! Fantastic drinks, made with quality ingredients, top shelf liquors & friendly knowledgeable, passionate bartenders. The food is fantastic too. Even the other customers are friendly! THIS PLACE IS VERY, VERY GOOD.

Excellent artisan drinks, amazing burgers, Brussel sprouts to die for. A fantastic addition to the Lewiston drink scene. The bartenders are tru mixologists. A fantastic night out all around!

Great little place. More of a bar than a restaurant, but the food was still very good. Had the burger and the chicken tacos. Both hit the spot. Expansive drink list with about 8 beers on tap. Staff was funny and helpful.

This place is specifically for upscale mixed drinks, a really well up-kept rotating 8 tap draft list, with the old "classics" (schlitz, tecate, pbr, etc) available in cans. I cant comment on the food as I don't personally go there to eat. The draft prices have gone up since they opened over a year ago, I paid $12 for an 8oz draft one time (was unaware until i got the tab and saw the price, as nothing is listed on any menu). Sure the beer was "hard to find" and all that hipster lingo, but $12 for 8oz...cmon now. If you like trying different craft drafts from what everywhere else has to offer, pop in. Tom is also an (i think) award winning mixologist too, so go snag a snazzy bevvy from him and watch in awe as he showcases his wizardry. Craft pours are mainly $8-$9 for a 12oz, with a 22oz Substance always available along with Utica Club. Pint cans run around $4-$5 for the "cheap beer", and mixed drinks are roughly $10-$14 depending on how much booze/toppings you get. Atmosphere is a mix between prohibition era speakeasy and Lewiston as she was at that time too. Always has a good music selection bumpin

From someone who has only lived in cities, I've found the food scene in Lewiston/Auburn diverse but sparsely so. When I walked into Sonder & Dram last Saturday night, I knew I had found my new favorite corner in town! The gentleman at the door politely checked me and my partner's ids, much to my delight! The place was busy, with a funky, cozy atmosphere, vintage lights hanging above the bar and small tables around the edge. The place isn't big, it was intimate and lively. We found two seats in the middle of the bar and waited a couple minutes to catch the busy bartenders attention. We started with two local beers on tap, an IPA and a sour, both were excellent. We ordered a burger, fries and the cheese board. The cheese was good, albeit a little overpriced for what you get. However, the burger and fries were delicious, perfectly cooked, a great value. When we had finished we prompted ordered another. For our next round of drinks, after seeing the bartenders making a couple of masterpieces in front of us, we knew we had to try. My partner ordered the red sangria and me, a drink called The Bee's Knees. A honey, gin concoction that was to be added soon as a seasonal cocktail. It was delightful! Highly recommended. The music was great, loud enough to be heard throughout the room but not so overpowering that we couldn't have an evening of conversation and laughter. 5 stars Sonder & Dram. This town needed your contemporary vibes. I can't wait to come back!

I so badly wanted to fall in love with this place, but it sadly missed the mark. The atmosphere is great, but the service was less than exceptional and the food was sub par. I waited at the bar for nearly five minutes before any of the bartenders made eye contact with me or approached me. Mind you there was a male bartender standing next to me the whole time! When I was finally approached by the female bartender, I asked about the sour beers on tap and she had no knowledge on how to explain their flavors. She got me a sample of each and then never came back to take my order!!! I waited for another five minutes before she made eye contact with me and told me to wait one minute. I waited and finally she came to take my order and get my drink. I then returned to my seat waiting for my food to arrive. A few moments later, I look to see all of the bartenders just standing around the computer trying to figure things out while the cook is ringing the bell to notify them that an order had been completed. None of them looked up or acknowledged the chef as he did this multiple times!! Finally an individual from my party approached the chef, got our food and returned to the table. No one at the bar even noticed this had taken place! So, how long would I have really waited for my food? On top of that the food is nothing to rave about. The burger bun was over cooked and the burger had little to no taste. Plus, everything is far overpriced. Sadly, I don't think this is a venue that I will be returning to again.
