Alrighty, I don't typically write hotel reviews but there are a number of glaring faults that I believe the owners should be aware of:
- We called at least twice to ask if they could provide a crib for our son. We were assured on both occasions (by different representatives) that one would be provided. We were then supplied with a urine soaked pack and play. We would have brought our own, but if the hotel was willing to provide it made packing easier.
- Maintenance is obviously neglected. Below are some of the highlights:
* Lack of caulk in shower and slight smell of mold. Stained grout around tile. Likely lots of water ingress behind shower insert due to bad installation. I suspect stuff is rotting from the inside out.
* Bathroom door opens on its own.
* Breaker box is within reach of a toddler and the door swings open on its own. Latch mechanism is missing. As an engineer I understand that it *should* be safe (no exposed wiring) This cannot be to code and is unacceptable.
* TV is held up with plywood and drywall screws. Doesn't appear to have a proper TV mount. Kinda a hack job even if it works.
* Fridge sounds like it has a bad bearing in the compressor. Impossible to sleep with it plugged in. It screams in the night.
* Sprinkler is falling out of the wall in the master bathroom and is being held up by drywall.
* Outlets by master bedroom arc internally if you wiggle them. Fire hazard for sure.
* Shelf by master sink is falling out of the wall. Drywall anchors? In a hotel? What kind of fly by night contractor did you hire?
- Cleaning crew needs more attention to detail. Or attention in general.
* A ball of hair was left in the shower.
- Curious design decisions:
* Rooms are spacious, I will give them that.
* Smoke alarm activity light is... well, reminiscent of a lighthouse in the night. A bright green strobe that shines directly downward into your soul whilst trying to acquire some shuteye.
* Sound dampening - There is none. Stomping in the room above us, discussions in the room beside, you can hear it all. Not an easy thing to fix but worth noting.
- Breakfast
* Everyone who ate breakfast here spent the entire day throwing up. Everyone in our party that ate breakfast elsewhere was fine.
* Even if breakfast didn't give people food poisoning, it was kinda sad, even being free.
And to close it all off, we were put in a ADA compliant room. (I guess it was the only one left?) If this is how they take care of the "special" rooms I fear how bad the rest of them are.
Additionally, the bad reviews seem to harp on all the same issues so it isn't like this is a surprise to management.
Thanks to management for the response, I believe it was room 112 but I don't remember. I know it was first floor. Entering from the parking lot I walked down the hall and made a left and it was the first door on the right. Door had a doorbell buzzer (for ada/fire alarm I guess.)
