Inside the Levha Sisters’ Culinary World: Their Go-To Spots for Dining in Paris

"Best tackled around 11am, this very authentic, very small Vietnamese spot, set in the oldest building in Paris, serves only one kind of pho—beef—and, for them, it’s the best in Paris." - Sophie Friedman

Bon Bun is awesome. Totally worth the wait. There are only three 6-seat tables and one 4-seat table. Sharing a table is a cool experience.

Very nice place, only 2 types main dishes as options. Very good taste , feeling even better than Vietnam Pho. Recommend for visiting again.

Song Heng - A Solid Vietnamese Spot in Paris Every time I visit Paris, I make sure to stop by Song Heng. Their pho is simple, comforting, and full of flavor-exactly how it should be. It's not fancy, but that's part of the charm. The restaurant is small with limited seating, and you might end up sharing a long table with others. The vibe is quick and no-fuss: people come, eat, and go. There's usually a line outside, but it moves fast. I always go for the petit pho, which is already a big portion for me. I love adding extra meatballs —it's delicious and still very affordable.

Google
Pho here is the best in the city, it really is. Beef ball was really tasty. Beef sliced was also chunk but yet tender. The downside is that the restaurant is a bit small with limited seats, so you have to wait for the Q. Card payment is accepted

Google
Pho is with thai basil (no cilantro was visible, but I guess it‘s in it too). Meat in the pho were very tender, soup was flavorful. Bo bun was very refreshing and stuffy. Both were very authentic food. So food in general, i recommend. Big disadvantage was space. Too small, you gotta sit with other group of people, and waiting is around 30mins. But even though, I will visit here again.

Google
This place is great. I eat a lot of pho and this is my favorite in the city. The people working here are also very efficient and even if there’s a line it will move quickly. It was kind of funny sitting at a table with a bunch of strangers but I enjoyed the experience.

Tessa C.

Google
The broth here is on the sweeter side, the beef in pho is not the thin sliced one (just stating a fact not complaining). The menu is simple and perfect for those who don’t like to choose. Worth the line, this is what one needs for the cold rainy windy days in Paris.

Google
Place for a quick bowl of pho with affordable prices. Menu was simple with only two main dishes. The sitting was a bit squeezing as the place was small and crowded, usually have a queue of around 10-20 minutes

Yelp
On my last trip to Paris, I was able to hit a lot of the food spots I wanted to. But I lamented not being able to try some French-Vietnamese pho. Made it a point to find a good place in Paris to come to for some pho and that's how I ended up at Song Heng. The menu is super straightforward. As in, there's literally only two items on the menu. The options are either pho or bun bo hue. Obviously I picked the pho, which was a combination bowl. Since the price difference was €1, I also went with the large. Kinda surprised to find thick rice noodles here, as I think I have only had that once before. But they were good, didn't stick together and held the flavor of the broth well. The meat quality was definitely better than what I would usually find back home in the U.S. Pretty quality chunks of meat. And the broth was quite exquisite. I was actually surprised that drinking the soup didn't make me feel super bloated...makes you wonder how much MSG they use back home! Staff here were really friendly. They keep a very efficient churn on the place since it is quite small. And the guy running the counter spoke French, English, and Chinese (at least, that's what I recall hearing). Definitely want to try some other spots when I come back to Paris, but happy to note that my pick was the right one!

Yelp
Came here after reading great reviews and recommendations from friends. If you like pho on the sweeter side, you'll like it here. If you prefer more meaty-flavor like we do, you won't like this. The meat also was just ok. Also, the vegetable plate only comes with mint as the greens. No culantro, basil, and even the green onion and cilantro in the bowl was sparse. Be prepared to sit with others at the same table and get friendly. There are literally 3 6-person tables and 1 4-person table. Go to Pho Banh Cuon 14 instead - our fave in the city.

Yelp
Tbh originally I had low expectations for a pho place in Paris as I grew up in NYC and have eaten at so many restaurants that serve pho. But I have to agree with the reviewers that say this is one of the best pho restaurants I have ever tried. The soup was so flavorful yet light, usually I feel like pho noodles are often heavy feeling and oily. Also the beef balls were chewy and you could tell it was made in house. I feel like more people should know about this hidden gem! The only con I would say is that they don't have a lot of seats and you might have to sit close next to some strangers but that is kinda expected for a small hole in the wall restaurant.

Yelp
I'm a little confused about why this place is so popular. I feel like people really hyped up this place. Maybe I should have trusted my gut because the ones who were hyping it up and saying this was the BEST pho they have ever had weren't Vietnamese at all. Anyway, all I have to say was I WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED. Don't get me wrong the broth was good, I think that was the only yummy part of the pho. I've had better pho and the cut of meats wasn't anything special either. Idk. It was just ehhh. The bo bun was also nothing special. I've also had better. Honestly trust me, just pass on this.

Yelp
Taste wise I give it a 3. It is average. It's raining in Paris & a warm pho sounds amazing. Unfortunately, we had way better broth at BMC in LA. (A Vietnamese Franchise) This place opens at 11:15 not 10:30. The place does get packed fast! Service is good so I give it a 4! But I wouldn't come back here. Plus you can't take out if you can't finish..

Yelp
Every single time when I'm in Paris I do come here at least 5 times. This place has a real good broth and noodles for you. It opens at 11:30 for you to know

Yelp
Whilst studying abroad in Paris, my friend introduced me to this hole in the wall. Despite there being some drawbacks (limited menu - only two food items, cramped seating, wait time, lack of decor and finesse), this place earned 5 stars from me because they served consistently delicious pho to my poor little homesick, freezing from Paris rain and lack of California sun, Asian-food craving soul. The tai was always tender and fresh. The broth itself was flavorful and piping hot. They also served hot tea! With real leaves! Never a fan of coffee, and always an avid tea drinker, I had difficulties finding places that served actual tea rather than using a tea bag or serving me a can of "iced tea". Imagine my great pleasure when I poured myself a cup of tea, and some leaf fragments came pouring out. Also, they do serve chili peppers - which also made me happy as it was difficult to find truly spicy cuisine anywhere in Europe.I never did try the Bo Bun, though it appeared quite popular, as observed by the others in the restaurant. Compared to other Parisian Asian eateries, the prices were fair - about 8 euros for a large bowl of pho with steak, meatballs and toppings. After discovering this place, I quickly became a regular for whenever the cravings hit me, despite it taking 45 minutes to get there via metro..yeah, it was that good. Like most places in Paris, the eating area is crowded and small. You will be seated next to strangers to accommodate for the long line that accrues during popular mealtimes. Besides the lengthy line, the exterior looks rather unassuming but it is warm and cozy inside. If ever I return to roam the streets of Paris, I will most definitely return here. In fact, I have already told several of my friends who live in the area to check this place out. Though it may have been biased by the desperation of my homesickness, Taing Song-Heng's bowl of pho has claimed the title as my favorite bowl of pho to date. Highly, highly recommended.

Yelp
I can still taste the broth from my pho at this place, months later. My husband and I had spent 75% of our Europe trip looking for a hot, comforting bowl of pho after long flights and train rides. It took our fourth country, a lot of yelping, and speed walking, but we made it here at 3pm one brisk day in Paris, happy and starving. I loved that this place is so busy that it can offer just two dishes - pho and bo bun. The best part is that you really can't mess up your order regardless of what language you speak or read when there's only two items on the menu. The shop is super tiny with only enough seats for about 10-12 people (there was a steady stream of people for take out) and it took a few winding streets through a small Asian/Chinese neighborhood before we arrived at our destination. Prices were pretty reasonable but to be honest - we just didn't care anymore once we realized we had stumbled on real pho. Seating is communal so be aware. We sat next to very nice French gentleman who was interested enough to ask how we managed to find the place (score for finding hidden gems in the city!) and allowed us to chat him up on the finer delights of pho and bo bun. As I mentioned, this place is crazy small and difficult to find. Let's add crazy limited hours as well. We couldn't understand how a shop with a Parisian address could afford to be open only a few days a week and only for 5 hours. TOTALLY GET IT. They are good enough that we witnessed a couple being turned away at 3:45 pm. The shop closes at 4 pm. HOLY. MOLY. That was legit crazy. We just looked at each other and realized how lucky we were. We have our go to pho place at home but this was right up there and we were so glad to find it and in the nick of time. Anyone looking for pho or bo bun in Paris should take the time to wind their way here - try to ignore the looks you get from the locals and be confident in your bad self that you are headed for a foodgasm. Oh, last bit of advice - make sure you have cash!!!

Yelp
Would I reccomend - yes. Would I return - yes I have. I've visited Paris twice and both times I visited multiple Pho spots. Due to logistics I've been able to come here both times. Although they do not skim the fat this is still a decent and consistent bowl of pho. It's interesting because this pho has elements of Northern and Southern style pho. If you are in the area I highly suggest a stop by. *Communal tables *Sometimes there is a wait outside (no room inside to wait)

Yelp
First time we tried to eat here, the line was about 20 people deep, so we decided to return next time we came to Paris. This time we arrived early. Very tiny place with 4 communal tables necessitating getting up each time someone came or left from the table. Very small menu: pho or bo bun the salad. Small or large. But soooo delicious!! We will be back soon!!

Yelp
To be fair, I have a high standard for pho. I've tried and had amazing bowls of pho in NYC, LA, Vegas, and most definitely Vietnam. The pho here was really just ok. Why, you ask? Broth: The flavor was amazing. This was the highlight and kudos to them, because the broth is the most important part of pho. It was clean and flavorful. I remember thinking: wow! Beef: there were different cuts. Beef round, brisket, and beef balls. The brisket was ok, but it was just... Ok. It didn't taste as if there was any seasoning and flavor to it. More like it was just boiled in plain water. The beef round was too chewy and cut too thick. If it was just a slight thinner, it would improve it overall. Beef balls were good. Since it's probably packaged, hard to mess that up. Noodles: I've had pho with the thicker cut rice noodles, like how they served it here, and the thinner rice noodle. Both were amazing. Somehow, the noodles here were a miss. It soaked up the broth too quickly and was a bit chewy. I left the bowl with mostly the noodles and beef (minus the beef balls), and drank what was left of the broth. Needless to say, I was a bit disappointed.

Yelp
4 stars for having really high quality roubaix meet and pretty good tasting meatball and a very clear broth. I thought it was working on flavour overall and not worth the wait.

Yelp
The only pho I've ever tried outside of New York, but also the best pho I ever had. Limited menu, tiny restaurant, a wait outside, and fake sriracha - but so worth it. Feels really home-y and the owners are so cute. I had no problems communicating with them even with my non-existant knowledge of French. 8.5euros for a large pho. Delicious broth, thick noodles, meatballs, onions, and semi-raw meat. Yum yum yum gogogo

Yelp
Hubby and I were craving a hearty bowl of pho on a cold day in Paris and after finding this hole in the wall on Yelp, we Trekked our way here and it really is a small space- they cram every possible patron in here, only serve two dishes: bo bun and pho. But, omg, the pho broth is heavenly- really authentic, like the broth your mom or aunt used to make them at home or in Vietnam. The beef slices are so delicious and hubbies Bo bun was delish as well! Extremely cheap relative to Paris prices : 8.50 euro for large pho or large bun. Highly recommend if you don't mind waiting or crammed spaces. Cash only. Limited hours.

Yelp
Awesome bo buns and pho, huge portions and fast service. Not a huge choice in the menu, but I prefer less choice and more quality which here is clearly the case. The restaurant is really small, so don't be surprised to be seated with strangers. Also, not a great choice of beverages, so take to go and buy litchi juice someplace else!

Kae S.

Yelp
Tiny hole in the wall that only has two items in on the menu (pho and bo bun) in small and large. There are like 5 tables at most. You will be seated with others. The space is tiny you may accidentally bump your neighbor but worth the wait.
google avatar

Gwen N.

Yelp
One of the great Yelp finds during my trip to Paris! The menu is pretty simple, Pho or Bo Bun, then small or large. But, that's why it tastes so good! They really know what they're doing and you're getting what they make best. It's a pretty small setup and there's usually a wait to get a seat, but it's worth it. Since they only make two dishes, you'll get your order within 5 minutes of ordering. The tables are small and you'll definitely get to know your table-mates REALLY well (whether you knew them before or not).
google avatar

Christopher G.

Yelp
Perfect. Two options, Pho or Bo Bun. The Pho is good, though not outstanding. However the Bo Bun is simply brilliant. Bursting with fresh flavours, generous portion, brimming with authenticity. I'm not going to say much more. If you are willing to wait 20-30 minutes to get a table and don't mind bumping elbows with strangers, then this is the place to come for authentic, friendly, fresh, brilliant Vietnamese food.

Yelp
Couple of days in Le Paris and you'll be like us...yearning for a bowl of PHO! Friend recommended us to try this place and sure glad we did. After the museum, we hopped into an Uber and landed in this little alley(was it Chinatown?!? I am not sure). Wait was about 20min so wasn't not too bad. It's really a small joint so naturally you have to wait. Just hover over people and pray they slurp faster so you can take their seats. The servers are friendly and food came out fairly fast. We ordered three bowl of the large pho and a bowl of dry vermicelli. Perfect, on a cold day. Beef was fresh and their fish sauce, very tasty and authentic. Prices are low compared to the cafes. Patrons are a split between the locals and tourists. Must Must Try!

Greg B.

Yelp
It was pretty good here, but we did quite a few pho places while on our trip and this was about in middle but a bit better. I'd say it was 3rd out of like 5 or 6 that we had. I'd totally go again though, as everything in Paris that is "just ok" is really actually "pretty good". They're only open for lunch I believe, so get there when they're open :-)
google avatar

Cillio O.

Yelp
I have dined here on two occaisions for Bo-Bun, and received the same result. Complete satisfaction. The noodles are properly cooked, and the proportion of peanuts, greens, veggies, and meat is sensible and pleasing. For those who enjoy a little spice, the sriracha is never far of reach. Despite its small interior, it is possible to feel very much comfortable. Though I tend to eat in near silence (due to the deliciousness), you can certainly enjoy a conversation with a friend. Arrive at early or late hours, in order to avoid the lunch-line :)

sarra H.

Yelp
Hands down, best broth ever!! The meat was tender and noodle was delicious. Small cozy restaurant. Perfect meal when you are missing your moms home cooked noodle soup, but it's actually better than your moms.
google avatar

Wendy T.

Yelp
Lovely place! The woman who runs it is charming and the pho and bo bun are delicious. Get there early as a line will form. Fast service and nice ambiance.
google avatar

Jonathan C.

Yelp
One of the best pho I had outside of Cali. Really clean yet flavorful broth. Not surprised it's so highly rated in Paris.

Jared B.

Yelp
My main problem with this place is my inability to decide between the 2 items they have on the menu, Pho or Bobun. Both are excellent, authentic, and fresh. The pho's broth is always on point. Large portions and inexpensive. It is super tiny and there is normally a wait, so that is not fun. But if you are lucky you sit right away and the food comes out fast.
google avatar

Jin J.

Yelp
Very simple menu in that you order either large or small pho. The portions are very good. The pho is very good overall. I would come back here if I'm in the neighborhood again. Keep in mind that it is small and you may be sitting next to a stranger but I'm from New York and many of our restaurants are like that so it's not foreign to me.
google avatar

Valeria F.

Yelp
This was the best pho that I ate in Paris. It's cheap and delicious. I ordered the big bowl of pho for 9€50, my friend ordered the small bowl of pho for 7€50. It's opened from Monday to Saturday. My suggestion don't order the big bowl if you aren't really hungry and they only accept cash payment.
google avatar

Loudes L.

Yelp
Pho was good but not best I've had. Better options in 13 arrondissement. However the Bo Bun was the best. The regular size is big and no doggy bag is allowed. Very crowded - best to go early or late for lunch.
google avatar

H H.

Yelp
It's really really good beef pho. A bit of wait at a tiny place that only offers two dishes. This place really speaks to me when they just focus on making two delicious dishes and worry about nothing else. Bravo.
google avatar

Colin M.

Yelp
Delicious Phô, served in giant bowls. Highly recommended by a London friend. It's very near to the Ars et Métiers metro stop and eponymous Museum. Make an afternoon of It and see both. There are very few seats inside. Come at off-hours (they are open continuously, till 10pm).

Katniss B.

Yelp
It was late (for lunch) and we were hungry and wanted something asian. Found this place on yelp and thought we'd give it a try. Got there and there was a long line. The place is tiny. You'll most likely be sharing your table with others. I really didn't want to line up because I was hungry but my husband insisted. Fine. Went to a nearby bakery (you can always count on finding a bakery nearby) got a croissant and sat across the street (while my husband stood in line). Waited for maybe 30-40 minutes and we were in. There were only two items on the menu. Either pho or bo bun - small or large. We went for the large since we were starving and it wasn't much more. I didn't have high hopes but the pho hit the spot. The bo bun was good too. Easily better than anything you can find in San Francisco. San Jose - probably not. Vietnam? I've never been. But if you're looking for a really decent bowl of noodles - grab a snack and come stand in line! People working at the restaurant were very friendly as well.

Yelp
Oh that was so good ! loved the bo bun so much! The price is more than correct, and the food was delicioud !

Jo K.

Yelp
This place only has 2 different kinds of pho- small and large and 2 more type of Bo Buns. We were greedy and got the large and I barely finished half. The pho was delicious and the broth has depth, the noodles have a chewiness to them that I've never had in any other pho place in the world and you get a lot of meat! By the time we were leaving there was a line outside and it was barely noon on a hot summer day! I would definitely come back.

elissa k.

Yelp
BEST PHO AND BO BUN EVER. Never tasted pho so rich in flavor, and the meat was soft and good! Tried two other pho places near by because this place closes early, but the others don't compare! Go! You won't regret it.
