Songgang Freshwater Eel

Ordered and finished a whole eel, songgang red pepper paste style. So so yummy. My top 3 meals in Seoul over 3 weeks. Every dish was authentic, perfect, prepared with heart and love.

A unique experience. Staff were friendly and helpful explaining the menu. Portions were reasonable. You have to take your shoes off to enter the restaurant. More importantly the food was delicious

First time trying korean style freshwater eel. I’ve had a lot of eel in Japan so was excited to try the Korean version. Really liked all the side dishes and the veggies to wrap the eel with. The eel was very meaty and I liked the variety between the salted version and the marinated. The middle section did have some small bones so just be aware in case you feed to kids or you are not a fan of small bones. The restaurant is traditional so you will need to remove your shoes before entering the restaurant.

Absolutely delicious eel, love the texture and the taste. The managers were very nice, and would definitely recommend to others.
