UPDATE: Went back tje next day and they redid my order. Forgot to get the managers name. But. He was very nice and understanding and the food was fresh and delicious. So, i think the people the day before just werent having a good day. I ordered my food through the app. I got a kids corn dog mean and a double smasher burger meal. Both were gross. Smasher mean was dry and the buns burnt. Asked for mayo + ketchup, they just put Hella mayo on it instead. The kids corn dog and the fries were literally overcooked or probably just old. Because I could barely bite them myself. I was wondering why she didn't eat the fries. The corndog was literally so small and sad. I get it's for kids but goodness. Do better. Because the only thing worth it in what I bought was just the drinks. That's it. Just not it at all. Oh and I ordered it on the way here which was only 4 minutes away. Got here and still had to wait another 10 minutes before I got my food. Mind you it was empty when I got here. Also, none of it was got or remotely warm when I got it. So it was just dissapointing

Heed these reviews. Avoid this business. You'll waste an unacceptable amount of time waiting for food that will be very disappointing. Sun. 12:50AM. I waited 20 mins for them to clear the four cars in front of me. When I finally pulled up to the pickup window, I was the lone customer in line. Despite this, I waited another five mins for a chicken sandwich and a milkshake. The chicken sandwich was tough and unappetizing. The patty appeared gaunt as if it had been sitting for ages and the buns were lifelessly flat. Regrettably, I was forced to dispose of it after a mere two bites. One may assume with wait times this long the food would at least be made fresh, but it's simply not the truth of the matter. I'm completely nonplussed by the level of incompetence displayed within this restaurant. Keep your distance.

They can’t get the simplest order right, first time I asked for the #1, the double meat, I wanted everything just no cheese and no onions. I got my order and it had cheese and onions. Second time I asked for the same thing and I got a dry burger with cheese. I will never go to this sonic location ever again. They can’t follow instructions or they just don’t care how they prep your food. Never again ……..

Ordered online. Gave me an ice cold All-American Hot Dog. Gave my fiancé food poisoning. Would not recommend!

Ask and paid extra for a sausage burrito with extra sausage, easy egg, and add jalapeños. It came with too much egg regular amount of sausage and a ton of jalapeños. They just made it with normal amount of sausage (even though I paid for extra) more than plenty eggs but they did add jalapeños (honestly that’s the only change I could find from a regular one) tooo many peppers. Really disappointed. I order these all the time but I know when I get cheated and that’s how I feel today. I have NEVER finished one of these burritos at one sitting but I did today because the extra sausage was NOT there. I guess I will have to open it up and make sure before I move out of the line. Bottom line super disappointed!

This business should shutdown and rethink their business model. They only operate via the drive-thru. Tear it down, rebuild and offer indoor dining service so more people are able to be served and increase your potential profit.

It would be nice if they came back with the booths. Sometimes it's a bit of a wait at the drive thru. Foods good.

This place has really gone downhill. Yes, I give them that they are young, but that also falls on management. They need more training. And I don't know why they got rid of the stalls there's only like 5 stalls that they use, and they need to be updated.

Second time coming here and still the same. We waited in the drive thru for over 30 min there were only 2 cars in front of us! The slowest sonic I have ever been to!

Every single time I go I have issues. They are ether out of food or their computer is not working or they get my order wrong. Worst sonic I've ever been too.

I would give it fewer stars but I can't everytime I think I'll give this place another chance they remind me why they should just close their doors 30 mins waiting then they forgot half my order !!! Do better or close your doors

I ordered three drinks from there just now and they didnt tell anyone they only had the drive in opened they could have at least shut it down on the app!! Never going to that one again!!!!!

They messed my food and i found hair in my burger. when we first got there was no customer so it was fishy but then they had wait a couple minutes then we pull forward and the lady had attitude. once we got our food the bag smelled really bad. *DO NOT RECOMMEND*

Service and food were both horrible so at least they keep it consistent. If you're in the Carlsbad area I'd run as far away from this place and not look back.

We had a trailer so parked and walked to the front and pushed the button. After waiting 5 min we decided that one didn't work so we went to a parking spot and pushed the button. After waiting again we realized it didn't work. Then I noticed everyone in the drive thru. We walked back to the truck and decided to take the trailer through bc I really wanted that vanilla cream coke but guess what? The sign when we finally got to the order spot said "No Sodas" ummmm what?! So we spent about 15 min for nothing. If there aren't car hops or sodas I'd suggest a pretty big sign. Worst sonic everrrrr.

Need to get Carhops back! The drive-thru is super slow and you can't even order ahead. Nothing against the employees. They do the best they can, this is all management decisions.

I have never experienced such horrendous wait times in my life! Don't waste your time!! After 25 min I left my paid for meal, I couldn't take it anymore. By far the worst Sonic I've ever been too!

You can be guaranteed your order won't be correct. I ordered a SS cheeseburger. It's supposed to have double meat. I got single. You literally have to unwrap and check everything.

Irma I believe is her name. She's the ONLY good thing I've experienced at this establishment. A car boo with NO CAR HOPS, always a ridiculously long line wrapped to canal street and the last two times I've got my food, I've received burned tots. Needs drastic improvements or to be closed down.

So I come to Sonic daily and I can tell you no matter the time or day your waiting longer then 20 mins more times then not. All that is ever open is the drive thru which is backed up past the sonic building. They have an app to make it quicker for you but yet they still never have it up for customers to use. Over all the customer service at Sonic is terrible...

I don't understand how every time I go to this restaurant I end up with cold meat and cold fries. This spot is consistently busy! Everything should be hot. I use to work at a Sonic and I know exactly the standards a Sonic should up hold seeing as how your original restaurant got nailed for giving out raw meat. Get it together!

I went 2 days in a row and they closed early i know it's not that hard to make a damn drink.

Long wait time 20+ minutes, food taste like a banquet microwaveable meal, bacon on my burger was as hard as a toothpick, I Literally thought but into a toothpick,

Half the stalls are out of order and half of those out of order signs are missing. If you are lucky enough to be in a stall with a working panel the employees will ignore you It amazes me that places like this can stay in business.

Went through the super SLOW moving drive thru to get 1 meal and yet the food was still cold as if it was just setting back there waiting for someone to want it. The ladies whisper at the order menu making it impossible to hear them then they get mad if you raise your tone in order to increase vocal volume. The manager lady appears to be on meth you couldn't even tell what she was saying because of how fast she tries to spit her words out and her face looked.. Well it liked like meth. Never going to sonic again it's HORRIBLE.

We were staying the night in Carlsbad New Mexico. Got a craving for a sonic blast. Ordered 2 small sonic blasts which according to the sign said $3.59 each. Our bill came to $9.24 Which we questioned. The girl at the window when asked just shrugged and said sorry that's what it come out to. she handed us the receipt to look at which came to $4.29 each. We advised her what the menu said. She just shrugged and said I don't know what to tell you this is what it rings up as. She made it clear she could really care less and wasn't going to do anything to check it out. We left. It was a small amount of money but it became the principal and her really lousy attitude.

Came here on vacation - this was near our hotel. We were impressed with the service times and portions. Drive-in experience is something to definitely try out at least once. Carlsbad is not exactly a diner's paradise (the other nights we ended up at Chilis) but this Sonic is very close to hotels.

Horrible service do not go . I learned before and still for some reason think they will get better . Takes an hour for any order . No customer service skills .. placed order on app and employee just comes and puts paper on window saying need to go through drive thru after already sitting there for 20 minutes and placing order 30 minutes before online . Will ever get another dollar from me !!

This sonic is in disarray. Half of the stalls have signs telling you to use the drive-thru. The drive-thru had at least 10 cars waiting in line. The car hop could not tell us why the stalls were shut down.

Should be closed or at least have the franchise taken and given to a new owner. All I wanted was a hot dog and yet again, line around the building that never moves. It's typical to wait 15 minutes and never even get to order.

STAY AWAY!!! I wish I could give this piece of crap zero stars. This is by far the worst Sonic location I have ever been to. Hardly any of the ordering stations work, and if you are lucky enough to find a working one no one answers it to take your order. Whoever the owner is should be ashamed of themselves. Whoever is the manager needs to be fired. They are obviously to incompetent to run anything close to a functioning business. I can't even rate the food but if it's as good as everything else there it ain't worth a damn.

Idk why I give this location the benefit of doubt... they disappoint every time. I ordered a route 44 drink on the Sonic app before I get there... it's taken them 20 minutes or more to bring me my drink. It's just a drink. Seriously, should've gone across town to the other location!

Stopped here a few times upon passing through for drinks and had a relatively good experience.

Ordered, then sat in the car for 20-30min. Finally went in to ask where our food was. When they finally acknowledged by presence the realized they misplaced my order. OK. Mistakes happen right. I went back to the car thinking they would rush out the remake. And waited another 15 minutes. Really? A sit down restaurant would be faster than this. When they finally brought out my order they had forgotten the sauce. In their defense. They did give us a token for a free drink. But honestly. Pretty poor. for what they put me thru they should have given me a refund.

It was ok. Communications was an issue as the microphone thing was clear. I ordered a sundae and for $4.85 they could use ice cream and toppings. At least the person taking my money was friendly.

We are frequent patrons of Sonics and have been to many across the country. Can I give this one 1/2 star???? Stood out front on patio waiting for someone to answer 5+mins and no answer. Went inside and asked about ordering. Manager said they couldn't take any orders until they got the food out that was waiting. Was dying for lime slushes so decided to wait it out as we were on long road trip with few stops in between. Pulled into a stall and again 10 mins before answering. As we waited pulled up Yelp comments...... oops. 15 mins before our drinkscame out. Waitress was friendly but a bit clueless. My 85 year old mother stepped out of the car into a pile of vomit on her way to use the restroom. Positive note: bathroom was open unlike previous comment and it was clean.

I know there are a lot of bad reviews for this place but I have to give them 5 stars. I was having a hard time hearing them over the intercom order system and the young man (wish I would have gotten his name) actually came outside and took my order for me. I actually ordered a low carb option and made a special order and it was done perfectly! The wait was around 5 minutes (at 8 in the morning) and it was really good.

Oh my goodness this crew needs a lot of training! Everything we ordered was made wrong. Except the French toast sticks were correct. The triple chocolate only had 2 chocolates. The Heath bar vanilla blast was incorrect, good thing we liked Oreos in our vanilla. The chocolate shake was vanilla ice cream with a splash of chocolate syrup not spun very well. Glad I didn't order much more than dessert

Driving through, thought we could use the bathroom them eat. No! Bathroom was locked! Supposedly it's being used as storage!!!

I would like to use this review to rate the food, but considering I never got a chance to order I will base this on the service I received. My husband pulled up to order food and the lady came over the intercom and told him to wait just a minute and she would be with him. He proceeded to wait 15 minutes, and then instead of her coming back to take his order they shut all the lights off and closed.

We stopped here on the way to Roswell, 60% of the stalls had signs on them saying they were temporarily out of order. The drive thru was packed so we went to the station outside in the front to order. We ordered two hotdogs and drinks, it took 30 minutes before they were delivered. We watched at least 10 cars leave because they weren't being waited on. On a good note, the food was good but not worth the wait.

Worst service ever. Sat for 45 min. Called back in. Waited another 10 min. Carhop said they gave away my food to someone else. Made my order in about 3 minutes. Brought it to me and said the total is ???.

The waitress was so rude! And my cup was severely sticky and she didn't get me a napkin. It wasn't even the right drink. Go to the other sonic!

Don't do it! I wish I could rate them less than one star. My order has always been wrong from this place. You will wait a LONG time for your order. Much longer than is reasonable. It doesn't matter how small your order is, expect to take a minimum of 20 minutes and upwards of 40. I ordered a cheeseburger and they asked me if I wanted mayo and mustard. Yes, please put both of them on there. So what do I get? I cheeseburger with ONLY mayo and mustard! Who in their right mind would think that is all I want if I ask for both of those? Time passes and then I get the false impression that these guys can't be as bad as they were last time. There is no way! I justify it to myself. But in all reality they are always bad. ALWAYS! I deserve it honestly, I know better. I feel like a dog who has returned to his vomit.

The slowest Sonic I've ever been to. Take the extra few minutes and go to the other one. It'll save you the time you spent waiting here. I ordered one drink 10 minutes ago and I still have time to make this review.

Doesn't matter if it's one car or its full the service is always soooo SLOW! The food is never that good.

If there's one thing I hate is cold food and that's what I got here! Could hardly understand the person taking the order, they need a "press #1" for English! Ridiculous !!!

First of all I went to the Sonic my order was messed up I was very patient and waited I was told I could get my order remade so when I showed up the next week the manager came outside and told me that he had never spoken to me when he knows damn well he did he was very cocky and gave me the wrong number to his general manager I'm sure you remember me but I really wouldn't go to the Sonic people just can't even hold their attitude right at working at a sonic you don't deserve a job

This was my first experience at a Sonic. Everyone should go to a Sonic at some point in their lives. It was so fun! We pulled in, checked out the menu in our individual drive-thru, hit the red button to order and bam! The food came pretty quickly although they forgot the cup of water we ordered. Recommendations: the malts and breakfast burritos. They were gracious enough to let us use the bathroom despite it being an outdoor restaurant. I had to walk through parts of the kitchen in order to get to it, but the bathrooms were fine.

I have been warned to not order food from this restaurant because of health code violations. Have gone twice for the happy hour discounted drinks. Love their drinks and ice cream.

Came for lunch and all of our orders were perfect. The very best hamburgers, hot dogs. The service was so fast too. We had a BIG Order. The shakes were excellent. Quick. Accurate. HOT. GREAT FOOD.

Went through drive thru for the new philly cheese steak. More jalapeños than steak or cheese. Old fries and no ketchup! To top it off, wasn't given a napkin or a fork. How am I suppose to eat this in my vehicle? Will not be back to this Sonic.

Just had an after 8:00pm half price milkshake. A great shake and a great price. Ordered a large, most of it is now in my freezer because it was huge! 25 flavors, you will find one you can not refuse

Passed through on our way back to north Texas and it was great! Fresh food, fast courteous service! One of the best sonic's I've been to!

The worse customer service ever! They are rude and slow. They mess up the orders a lot and every time I come here, I leave angry. I went to place an order in the dine-in area and the guy yelled through the mic something ineligibly so I pressed the button again. He again shouted rudely and hung up. He did this 3x so I had to go through the drive thru. They said the were closed even though they took someone else's order and still had 1 hour left to be open

It was a ridiculous wait time. Perhaps there are reasons why. However, I've been to this location four times and each time was a long wait. The service is so-so.
