Line was wrapped around the building and I’m not surprised due to the launch of their new pickle meal and that’s why we were there. The line moved pretty quickly which is the only good thing about this visit. I didn’t get the right side I asked for tater tots got french fries not a big deal both potatoes I asked for the ones that come with the pickle meal didn’t get those got the plain french fries couldn’t even really go back around or knock on the door because it was so busy you couldn’t park anywhere because the parking lot is so badly done that you’d get blocked in no matter where you park. got home burgers are a mess. I loved sonic growing up this sonic has kind of ruined sonic for me because every time I go there there seems to be some type of issue. most of the issues are little or not a big deal. The only problem with this time is that I was really looking forward to trying these items and I probably won’t go back just because of the distance and the inconvenience I keep having.

I either have great customer service or I’m waiting on my ONE slushy for 15 minutes since I’ve checked into my stall (not exaggerating). It really sucks because I love using the sonic app, and getting the deals. It’s happened one too many times with peace and love please fix the problem or atleast show a sliver of remorse when I have to go to the drive through for my order.

Awful location. Waited at the drive thru for 25 minutes! No one was taking orders. Then went to one of the parking spots with the screen to order, after 20mins of no one answering I just gave up. The employees here are not working. Please choose a different location before considering coming here.

I rarely write reviews, but this experience demands one. On July 4, 2025, my wife and 22-year-old son visited this Sonic location. After my son accidentally entered the exit lane, an employee in his personal vehicle aggressively screamed and threatened them. When my wife tried to speak with a manager, the same employee physically blocked her from leaving—an act that legally qualifies as unlawful restraint. The manager then joined in yelling and threatening my family. The situation escalated to the point where 911 was called, and police had to intervene just so my family could safely receive the food they had already paid for. Despite reporting this serious incident to Sonic corporate (Ticket #250704000680), I have yet to receive any follow-up or acknowledgment. This level of unprofessionalism and disregard for customer safety is unacceptable. I urge Sonic to take immediate action to investigate and hold accountable the employees involved. Until then, I cannot recommend this location to anyone.

Took forever to order and then they gave us the wrong order had to go back and wait again. Very aggravating especially when you have children in the car waiting for their food. Location is always good though.

This place is hit or miss. I like the breakfast burritos but not when they are the size of the sauce packet. It isn’t expensive but when you get more tortilla than eggs & sausage, it seems like it is.

This is the slowest place, it takes forever just to get them to say something thru the drive thru speaker . Today after a 10 minute wait and still no one to take my order I just left. Even when ordering thru the app it is difficult to get order. Says they open at 8am I have been there and no one is taking orders.

I pulled into one of the stalls and ordered my food through the app because of the deals. The stall screen updated the process of my order. I waited probably 5 minutes after the screen said my order was completed and on its way out to me. Food was excellent for the most part even though I didn't receive napkins etc.

Update: Complaint Summary: Threatening and aggressive employee behavior at Sonic Drive-In (1799 Stringtown Rd, Grove City, OH) escalated to the point my wife had to call 911. Company has refused to provide transparency or outline corrective actions despite repeated follow-ups. Complaint Details: On July 4, 2025, my wife and son visited the Sonic Drive-In at 1799 Stringtown Rd, Grove City, OH, after placing an order through the Sonic mobile app. My son made an innocent mistake by entering through the exit lane. An employee responded with verbal aggression and threatening behavior. When my wife attempted to address the matter with the store manager, the same employee attempted to block her inside the store. The behavior was hostile enough that my wife called 911 for safety. We immediately reported this to Sonic Drive-In and its parent company Inspire Brands. The timeline of their response is as follows: Two weeks passed before any acknowledgment. After receiving video evidence from us, another two weeks passed before a vague voicemail stating that "appropriate action" was taken. Despite multiple follow-up emails, they have refused to clarify what measures have been put in place to ensure this does not happen again. I have clearly stated that I am not seeking monetary compensation and do not need to know specific personnel actions. My request is for operational transparency -- specifically, what policies or training changes will prevent future incidents like this. Given the seriousness of the incident and the lack of meaningful communication from Sonic Drive-In/Inspire Brands, I believe they have failed to address a legitimate safety concern for customers. Desired Resolution: A written response from Sonic Drive-In/Inspire Brands outlining what operational or policy changes have been implemented as a result of this incident. Assurance that staff have received training to handle customer interactions without escalation to threats or physical intimidation.

Ordered a couple burgers, corn dog, fries, tater tots, onion rings. The burgers didn't have the jalapeños, they were definitely smash burgers ( like they sat on them before they put in bags) forgot the corn dog, had to press the button again, took another 10 minutes for them to bring it, now everything else is cold. No receipt. The girls delivering to the cars got the first order wrong, gave me the neighbors order. She then took it back to the right car. They all look sloppy, hair all uncombed. I'm sorry but when you're working with food, present yourself with dignity. Never will we come here again!!

This might be the worst sonic ever. I've been here a few times at different times and it's always bad. The customer service is consistently awful no matter what time of day you go. The food is a gamble if you get the correct order you probably had to wait a long time and even after a long wait it's probably the oldest piece of food they could find. The only thing that this place is good for is drinks but with service this bad you have to wonder how clean the inside is...

Ordered a #1 combo with no cheese on the burger at the drive thru. Got home to find a bun with no cheese, but also NO MEAT! So $9 for a few cold fries and a soft drink. Tried to call restaurant only to get a message saying they are unable to take calls at this time. Called the corporate number to file a complaint, but doubt I'll hear anything from this location. It should be shut down.

Ordered coney and chocolate shake at drive thru. Took a good ten minutes to get past speaker. At window, received Coke and pretzel. Told drive thru attendant this was wrong order. He then told me I DIDNT ORDER A SHAKE. Had to go to "employees only" door to get correct order, but was only offered refund. Save your time and go to Dairy Queen next door.

I always have high hopes for Sonics food, as they advertise some good looking food. But, when we ordered the last eat cheeseburger double burger, it was just average. At a price tag of almost $6 with tax you'd hope it would be a little better. They didn't have onion rings available, so had to go with the tots and they were about as enjoyable with no ketchup (even though we asked for three packs) as one could hope. The only thing Sonic does really well is Drinks. If you're thirsty- then this is your place! Their milkshakes are really tasty and flavorful.

to start with, it took forever for tge staff to answer after the buzzer was pushed. They were out of three of the items we wanted. We needed a dressing and it took them 15 minutes to resond. By then, we were done. Oh, and the tater tots came out cold. you would be better off going to DQ next door.

What a joke. I have not been to this "restaurant" in two years. It took me 15 minutes to remember why. Came here on what appeared to be a slow Sunday evening and after pulling into the stall and PRESSING THE RED BUTTON we sat waiting for someone to take our order. 15 minutes with two cars at drive-thru and ZERO CARS At other drive-up Stalls. 15 MINUTES! Why be open if you're not gonna take orders from people?

I hate to pile on, but this location is absolutely terrible. It likely starts with upper management - understaffed, underpaid - but you, as the potential customer, should be aware. This is my local Sonic so I've given them many tries. At least 50% of the time - perhaps more - the food has been wrong in some way. Usually it's something missing, but I've also had scenarios where the food I order has been replaced by something else, or the requested modifications (plain burger, for instance) were not done. I haven't been there in over a year, so today I decided to give it a try. Slow service, cashier in the drive-thru was not wearing a mask (for anyone reading in the future, this is right after the COVID pandemic has opened things back up...all food service workers are still wearing masks and it is REQUIRED. Not here!). Food was on the cold side. Never again...

This sonic should be removed honestly their slushy machine is always down all year round which is crazy because that's basically all sonic is known for is there slushy's and especially during the summer time when everybody wants something cold to drink they can't even provide the cold drinks which basically makes them useless so I don't know how this place is still doing business. Also their employees are rude and unprofessional. They must be hiring people off the street at this point. This is a embarrassment. And I will have to take this up with corporate to see that this gets further action

20 minutes for a corn dog and lemonade in the drive thru I understand staff shortages but they were also rude. Common sense might be to have someone with a huge order to pull ahead and wait on their 10 milkshakes to be made and let customers with smaller orders advance through the line.

The kitchen area is gross and the corn dogs were not fully cooked. Seriously raw batter that made me sick the night and next day. Not sure if it was a bad day or not for them but no matter how busy you get the health and safety of your customers shouldn't be neglected.

Terrible, terrible service. I just sat there for 25 minutes without getting any help. There was only one other car parked there. I would love to review the food, but this is the second time I've tried to go and have left because no one ever greets you or takes your order. Really really awful location with terrible employees !

This has to be the worse location I have ever been to. When we got to the window, the cashier was vaping. I mean seriously, took my debit card out of my hand after he was done with his puff. I wish I was over exaggerating but I'm not. Disgusting!! I didn't even want to take my food however he passed me the food before he took my card. That was my last time going there. I can't even tell you how the food was because I am so upset about the service. I don't know his name however I will be posting the receipt with the cashier number and location.

We go for the ice cream most of the time. I think t price of a cone could be a lil more reasonable but the happy hours old and quality of ice cream is worth it. Recently we tried the new oreo waffle cone. It was delicious. I was disappointed that the regular waffle cones aren't available currently. B/c my son isn't a big oreo fan like myself and he wanted just a vanilla waffle cone.

So slow. Just today, I waited over 10 min for someone to take my order and there was no one else in line, all to be told they didn't have my order. If this was once and awhile, it would be no big deal, but this is consistent at this location. Also, half the time you'll wait forever in line just to be told they "system is down" and they can only take cash. No one under 65 carries cash anymore.

When my food was messed up I got an online 50% discount for a sandwich if I purchased another sandwich. How is that fair? My food was messed up why couldn't I just get another sandwich at no additional cost? No thanks I don't want to pay for a second disappointing sandwich.

If I liked greasy, fattening, bland food more than I do, I'd probably like Sonic much more. It's not a horrible restaurant, it's just not that good. Don't get me wrong, I love fast food just as much as the next guy. I do need to avoid it more often than I do though. I wasn't very impressed with their food or their menu selection. The hamburgers are mediocre at best and their fries should not be purchased. I'm not a big milkshake fan either, so I didn't bother trying one although they're probably the best item on their menu. In addition, I appreciate the "drive-in" venue. It reminds me of "Happy Days", but I'm not impressed by this attempt at nostalgia. I think that I'd rather walk up to a counter or order my food through a quick-serve drive-thru window than sit in my car and wait for a waitress on roller skates to serve me. We had a serious problem ordering our meal through the electronic menu board and had to wait what seemed like forever for the waitress to stop by. That wasn't fun. We couldn't resolve the issue by walking up to a counter like every other restaurant. I don't recommend Sonic. Not only does the environment remind me of the '50s, the food tastes like it was made back then! I won't be back anytime soon.

Let me start with their drinks, OMG are they good! That what sonic is known for is the fantastic drinks they offer! Now it has been awhile since I have been there, but everytime I went I was pleased. The food is good for fast food, the drinks are great which can make the meal all so much sweeter! Staff is kind, prices are decent, burgers are good. Hands down one of my favorite places for fast food. Wish they had more locations. If you're in the grove city area near stringtown rd, check this place out.

I've been here twice. Where are the employees? I waited 10 or more minutes before someone took my order and when I finally received it, cold. I haven't been back for a year now. I am tempted to get food but with no service and cold food why waste my money and time.

Used to be a favorite of ours. We haven't tried it since their famous entire team walkout that was all over the news. THINGS HAVE NOT IMPROVED. We visited tonight, pulled into one of the drive in order stalls. After pressing the button and waiting for a while, a person finally answered and said you can't use the stalls, only drive through. There were other customers in the stalls equally upset because they were getting the same message. There were no signs anywhere saying you couldn't order from your car. When I told the staff member they should have signs up, she really couldn't have cared less. We won't be back.

12:45 pm cold under fried tots, dry Luke warm fried chicken. Thought all's the fast food joints had software to tell them how much food to prepare and when. This has nothing to do with COVID. Weak , explains why there is never a line. Same reason I haven't got food from Rally's the past 15 yrs was cold like 10 times in a row. I expect dry chicken at 3pm not lunch time.

I wish I could give the zero stars because thatnl is the amount of customer service this management has. I drove up to the drive thru on a Tuesday afternoon. There were only 2 cars in the parking lot. I sat at the window for about 3 mins. I started to say "HELLO!" and I HONKED my horn. So I drove up to the window. NOT A SINGLE SOUL TO BE FOUND. I thought they were closed. So I drove around to the drive thru speaker and another customer pulled up. They took her 2 long orders. As the customer pulled up to the window, I again pulled up to the speaker. NOTHING! I was saying hello honking my horn, nothing. I almost pulled away, but by this time I was pissed. I just wanted 1 soda. So when the customer got their order I asked the manager where everyone was. She rudely told me that she was washing dishes. I asked her if she could hear me at the speaker and she said no then quickly said Yes! WTF?!?!?! I am calling the regional manager tomorrow. So super livid. And you want $15 an hour?! I will never come back. Sucks.

While the food and drinks are up to par with the Sonic standard I've come to expect, this location is obscenely slow. I have never once gotten through the drive-thru in under 6 or 7 minutes - even if just for one drink. It's absolutely ridiculous. There is just no need for that. When I worked in the area, I was at this location a lot because the diet cherry limeade was a great pick-me-up on a bad, but I'm not going to be making any special trips for such bad service.

First off I have to say after reading the comments about slow or poor service and after dining with this location weekly for the past 2 years I think I've sorted out just exactly WHAT the issue is. Several weeks ago the wife and I were on a little 3 day vaca in the "deep south" and needed to grab a quick lunch. We stopped at a Sonic location and I was shocked at how fast the service was. As my wife and I ate our lunch I took advantage of my view and watched the employees working. There were no LESS than 9 people working on a TUESDAY AFTERNOON!!! So when our carhop came back by with shakes I mentioned that I noticed they had a LOT of employees on the clock. He replied that they always ran with 9-12 employees during peak hours and NEVER less than 6 at ANY point in time!!! Well upon returning to Grove City and heading for my usual Wednesday mid week lunch treat at Sonic I got a chance to chat with my carhop. Out of sheer curiosity I asked the young lady how many people were working and to my surprise she said 4. 4!?!? I asked her how many people would be working on a typical friday night and she said they try to have 5 or 6 but often only have 4 as well. Shocking!!! After doing a little research on the Sonics here in central Ohio I found out that they ARE ALL franchises and owned by Houchens SaveALot grocery or something or other. And after reading reviews of the other Sonics in columbus I have come to the simple conclusion that it's simply an upper management problem!!! They aren't staffing these locations with nearly enough workers. If a corporate Sonic staffs 12 people on busy shifts and NEVER any less than 6 people HOW on earth does SaveALot even begin to think that 4 people would be ENOUGH??? I feel sorry for Columbus management. I do have to say this HOWEVER and in coming here weekly the last several years I have talked with the manager Laurie on ocasion and I have to say that she is a shining example of what a manager should be in any business. In all my visits I believe I HAVEN'T seen her working maybe twice?!?! I considor myself a regular and whether or not the staff recognize me or not I always try to joke around with them whenever I do interact with them. Everytime I see Laurie I say "Don't you ever go home???" She probably thinks I'm goofy or annoying BUT she always greets me with a big smile and asks how my lunch was. I've witnessed her interactions with her staff and with other sometimes angry customers and she handles issues with grace and class. It's clear she's got a big heart and I hope SaveALot knows what an asset they have in her. My service has always been decent honestly. Sometimes it is SLOWER than usual and sometimes I have had mix ups or mistakes with my order. Nobody is perfect. I do not particularly care for any of Sonics chicken products. The fingers are often old and miscolored and chewy. The grilled chicken takes an especially long time and is pretty bland. Wendys grilled chicken is much better. But Sonic's dogs are where it's at, especially the pretzel bun dog with the whiz and bacon and grilled onions! I wish they'd bring it back permanently! I suppose that being understaffed is NOT a reason to forgive poor customer service or rudeness. And what staff there is working should always work with great sense of urgency as it will go a long way in appeasing an upset customer. So I'm not trying to make ANY excuses for ANYONE'S poor experience. I just happen to eat here frequently and have always had good interactions with management and upon finding out how the business is actually run my heart goes out to the management and the staff. So at least as far as I'm concerned I'll continue my Wednesday lunch breaks with Sonic on Stringtown Rd and I'll be happy to see Laurie and staff even if it takes a few extra minutes to recieve service.

This was the worst sonic I have ever been too. It took about an hour to get our food and when we got it he hamburgers were all smashed and looked disgusting. I wish I could give this sonic 0 stars. It was slow, gross, and the employees weren't even friendly. After spending $15 at sonic I threw everything away and went over to give guys across the street.

I only give it 1 star cause 0 isn't an option. After sitting in the drive thru for several minutes because the parking station were closed, they opened. Went to a parking station, pressed the button and took at least 7 minutes for someone to acknowledge with a welcome to sonic we'll be with you in a moment. 7-8 minutes later someone came on and finally took our order of 4 milkshakes and a family cheese stick. 20 minutes later NO FOOD. We left. I will never return to this location and I suggest you don't either.

Went to Sonic just before 6pm this evening. After waiting at least 5 minutes to order, we finally got recognition of the wait (the car behind us already left) and then had to wait another few minutes. We were getting frustrated and almost left when the guy taking our order finally took our order. Once around to the pick up window, we realized the problem-he was the only person taking care of EVERYTHING. We were shocked that only one person would be on shift, but oh well. So we paid and then had to wait even longer. While looking through the window, we suddenly saw FOUR female employees show up and Jack (we saw on the receipt) trying to get an order ready for the cars that were parked, while trying to get our order. These ladies didn't have headsets on (well 3 for sure) so we knew they weren't working. One lady gave us one of the 3 items we ordered and said thanks. We told her of our drinks that were neglected. She gave us the one and asked what else we ordered. We received our receipt so we know there was an order ticket created. We told her it was a milkshake and she just then made it. While she was helping us, at least one of the other women looked lost. That sonic is hit or miss. Felt bad for Jack. It's impossible to cover that drive through and the car hop orders. OH-and just had the milkshake that's supposed to be chocolate and it's like vanilla with a hint of chocolate. Very disappointing.

One bad experience after another after another after another. So keep in mind that I have tried multiple locations in multiple states, and I can say that these people just don't care. From the folks in North Carolina who charged me for food I didn't order, then said all they could do was give me a gift card that was good anywhere, but it was only good at that location. Or the one closer to Ohio that left huge chunks of frozen bananas in my smoothie. Or the location in Grove City that kept getting my order wrong and took forever to fix it. I swore it off completely. But then I had a really bad hankering for some ice cream, and they were the only one around, so I figured they couldn't screw that up. It was terrible, almost mealy. My son hated his too. Do not bother with this one!

I live in Grove City, and honestly I frequent this Sonic more often than I should... for sure. I'd have to say that 9 times out of 10 I'm left disappointed. I generall run through the drive through for a quick half off slush or soda and no joke have never made it out of there in less than 15-20 minutes. It never fails! Even if there is only 1-2 cars in front of me, there's just something about them that makes it impossible to be fast! I don't order their burgers and they got rid of the popcorn chicken which was AWESOME. I have ordered their hot dogs but they are always cold in the middle. Finally, one day when I ordered two hot dogs and onion rings and got home and had cold hot dogs and dripping with old, gross oil onion rings that were reaaally gross, I called. I was told to bring my receipt in and they would make me new ones. I went a few days later and was harassed by the manager in the drive through and told that people lie all the time to get free food. She finally agreed to remake my order and told me that the toppings on the hot dog make it cold.... so I again received a hot dog that wasn't heated thouroughly and the onion rings were at least edible. Any time I've ever gone through and ordered more than 2 drinks, one is always wrong. Every time I have ever ordered a cherry limeaid with extra cherry FLAVOR I end up getting a cherry limeaid with an extra cherry. I don't know what their IQ level requirement is there but I will not be spending any money there any time soon.

This is by far the worst Sonic I've ever been to in my 35 years. Today is my 5th trip as I keep hoping the service will get better...I've been severely disappointed again. There are way too many choices for employees to be this rude and service so slow. The young lady that took my order does not need to interact with the general public. This will be my last time to come to the Sonic on Stringtown road. I would suggest the management team screen their employees better and learn how to treat their customers with a bit more respect. Here's an idea...hop in your car and drive down to the Chick-fil-a and see how it's done. Peace out Sonic...it's been slow, rude and still slow (waiting over 10 min now for a sonic blast...!). My six year just said "it's taking them forever"...he's a smart kid!

Wow seriously these girls on are some happy pills! (I mean that in a good way) I went here yesterday to get my friends daughter some fries and the chick at the drive through window was so happy, and friendly. Most of the time people smile at you and your like yeah yeah it's your job but here I felt like she was genuine. I will definitely go here more often now!

Cherry lime-aid. Yup that is my go to. Don't have Sonic's where I live. So when I saw the sign, I had to stop. Hard to get to, if not from area, but worth it.

This Sonic location is awful. Ordering at the drive-thru is a nightmare because you can sit there for several minutes before an employee even acknowledges your presence and the speaker is impossibly quiet so you can't hear/understand what they are saying. After you order you will wait around forever to get your food and drinks because despite how many employees are in the building, nobody seems to be doing any work. The fries are always cold and the beverages are made differently depending on who is working. They do not serve all of the foods that are listed on the Sonic menu online so don't get your hopes up for anything specific. Also, they will refuse to give you the happy hour special or to use your coupons for special deals because they "already rang up your order".

Literally the worst restaurant experience of my life. I ordered a cookie dough blast. They only filled the cup halfway, had no whipped cream, and instead of adding cookie dough, they added cookie flavoring and DID NOT STIR IT AT ALL. It was like a spoon of ice cream with a puddle of flavor at the end!

We ordered from the drive thru and the speaker was bad. They messed up two of the sandwiches. Bacon double with just cheese and ketchup and a bacon cheeseburger single with lettuce and mayo. We got a double cheeseburger with mayo lettuce tomato and onions and a single cheeseburger with bacon and mayo. Not happy at all... Long wait to get the food and then it is wrong.

The burgers are burgers but for the love of peanuts don't order breakfast! Everytime we do it is always cold or the bread is hard. Not to mention the shells for the burrito things are stale. They've got great drinks though, the tea is good and they have good flavors for it. Overall ok as long as you stay away from breakfast you should be ok.

Service was slow. Multiple sandwiches ordered but no way to tell the difference between them without unwrapping them and looking inside of each individual sandwich. Milkshakes are okay not as thick as other locations.

Fast friendly service at this sonic. The Stringtown road area is fast becoming my favorite "run shopping errands" place, due to it having a lot less hassle than the easton or polaris areas, and it's easier to access than lennox and closer (from german village) than Brice road. I always thought you paid a bit more at Sonic for what you got back in portions; but with innovative menu items such as a frito chili cheese wrap, and an awesome beverage (with fruit) selection I think it's justified. The tots were perfectly crunchy, and our other food (also recommend the corndogs) was well prepared. Note the entrance to get to this sonic is off an access road that runs parallel to stringtown, not off of stringtown road itself.

Been to this Sonic location many a-times. We were just at this location twice last weekend. You cant go wrong with their real fruit slushees. Yum. I get the strawberry one every time. Last weekend I thought I would change things up a bit and get their caramel milk shake. not bad. Its a smaller size compared to what you get a Steak N Shake, but it was ok. We've tried their food (hamburgers & fries) and we werent fans of their food at all. No thanks. The service there is quick and friendly.

I love sonic. & this sonic is prob my favorite one food is always hot & service is friendly. The only down fall and why I do not give it 5 stars is due to the fact it takes a little while to receive your order. But totally worth it in the end.
