Wow, this place brings back some good memories. This is a hole in the wall, but baked good is super fresh, and really really yummy. I just wish they didn't try to push you to pay and out of the store. Hint: if you see something that looks good, ask for a sample, you might get lucky with the nice backer which will bring you some yummy samples from the back. We were new to the place and sampled a couple of items, which we ended up buying more of ;)

I don't know where to start. This is one of the BEST pastries I have ever had I call myself a home pastry chef so I eat a lot of assorted pastries and this is by far one of the best i have every had. The bread is SO buttery tasting and soft. The filling is perfect, not too much, not too little. The owner of the bakery is SO kind and makes you feel at home. It's easy to miss as you drive by it but it it 100% worth stopping and grabbing something from there! I will be back to try more!!!

Terrible customer service. I politely asked if there were more chocolate donuts, and the owner yelled at me from the back in a very disrespectful manner. When I questioned his behavior, he escalated the situation and escorted me out. No customer deserves to be treated this way. Not recommended.

Popped over here on my lunchbreak to grab a snack and was not disappointed! Got two of their freshly baked chocolate croissants and they were perfect. The shop keeper was friendly and went through all the available baked goods of the day with me, great price for the quality also👍 absolutely delicious!👌

I should give this place one star so you don't go and eat 'MY' pastry! Seriously delicious pastry and great staff that add to the ambience of the bakery! My husband was passing one day and stopped in and got a cinnamon roll and he saved a piece for me to taste how delicious it was. So, now I'm addicted and I'll happily get fatter with this delight of a place in my life. The chocolate rugelach is amazing. I'm sitting here eating too much as I type. There is a constant influx of folks that seem to frequent flyers of this bakery. It seems like the neighborhood staple that's well known. Guys and gals please just go! If you see me please don't make me regret telling you, just let me cut you in line and let me pay for my rugelach. Live & Love! Go eat!

Very warm and welcoming service, with amazing quality goods. The cookies and brownies I bought couldn't have been a bigger hit. And the cinnamon rolls are a must.

Sold challah on offer that in no way could we ever replicate elsewhere. And speaking of incomparable delights? Get the babka. As others might have mentioned in reviews - this is, hands down, the best babka we have ever eaten. Super dark chocolatey with a hint of cinnamon and a wonderful crumble of streusel to round out the flavor. The stuff dreams are made of!

Truly, Sonny's makes the most amazing challahs! They pull apart nicely and taste delicious...never doughy and always with a beautiful color. They are very friendly and even when they are crowded, Stephanie greets every customer like an old friend. Their pastries and cakes are also excellent. Don't look for a fancy place, but who cares about that when you're talking about primo baked delights! Keep up the great work!!

NEVER TRUST THIS BUSINESS!!! ‼ . I ordered special order, ceremonial challahs for my son's Bar Mitzvah and THEY DID NOT FUFILL THE ORDER. Being that the date would be just before Pesach I brought it to the owners daughter attention, and she said it would be no problem. She said they would be open through that Friday before. She insisted I pay in advance and we set a pick up time and date. I put it in my calendar and checked it off my list of important things prior to the Mitzvah. I called a few days before just to confirm and I did not get an answer, I called several more times left voicemails and even drove 45 minutes to the bakery only to discover that it was closed with no notice and no one had called to let me know they would not be making my order. I met up with several unhappy customers at the door who said this has happened to them before and they will stop doing business with this bakery. I simply cannot understand why they did not make a simple phone call to let me know. Apparently they decided to close a week earlier than planned and just closed.. without any concern for my orders placed three weeks earlier. Either they do not keep good records or they don't care, either way it is no way to run a business. It was simply horrible to be left in the dark and have to scramble to find somewhere else to get multiple ceremonial challahs in a days notice one day before the Shabbat prior to Passover. I never received a phone call, responding to my multitude of messages or the note I left in their door, when I called them back AFTER THE BAR MITZVAH and Passover, they left me on hold as if they didn't know who I was and had to look up my order. Could not have cared less that they left me high and dry for one of the most important days in my family's life. Apparently they decided to take an additional week of vacation without concern for any outstanding orders. When I asked for a refund, they told me I had to drive to the store physically which is nearly an hour from my house , when I went there again, she seemed very insincere and just said "oh sorry accidents happen. No one's perfect." I own a small business myself, and if I ever made an error that caused someone so much angst, I would certainly have been more apologetic and sincere. I will take it up with my credit card company and if I can save someone else the trouble of expecting this place to follow through on what they say they will do than this review will have been worth my time.

So here is the story. I have been going here for years. Never had an issue. Always seemed like a nice place with nice owner. I live across the street so I go pretty often here. Today my sister bough a Challah and when she got home and opened it up for shabbat it had a piece of hair in it. Since my sister lives far away I took a picture and went back to the bakery with the receipt and a photo. The owners mom was beyond rude and spoke very disrespectful. She said where is the challah, I told her it was with my sister in Lauderdale. She said well here is your $8 back you are not welcome here anymore. I have owned many restaurants in my life. If I ever spoke to a customer this way they would have thrown tomatoes at my windows.If you want kosher bakery go to Kosher Kingdom or Sarahs Tent. They are a lot more polite then them! DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!!!! Let them Fail!!!

Sonny's is a wonderful Kosher bakery. The pastries are really decadent, delicious, and will absolutely satisfy any sweet tooth. The donuts are the best! If they have them, don't leave without them. I also love their chocolate babka and rugelach. And the black & white cookies are a dream. Sonny is so welcoming and gracious, he makes the visit that much sweeter.

Sonny bakery is a legendary kosher bakery. They have the most delicious chocolate cigars. Also try their challah bread which is freshly baked daily. Come here early to get some tasty baked goods. I highly recommend this bakery if you are looking for baked goods

the chocolate rugelach is amazinggggg! life changing.... everytime i'm in the area i make sure to stop here, i'm a major foodie and i think about this place at least 4 times a week. i love the goodies, the amazing staff, Sonny is such a nice person too it's just great and i recommend to everyone! 10/10 bakery

The best Jewish Bakery in Miami, the smell at the entrance is delicious and the Chocolate croissant IS BEST!!! you won't regret it. Furthermore, the attention is incredible

No mask wearing and improper COVID-19 Safety precautions!! Went there today to pick up pastries, while at the store I saw a baker (don't know the name but wore a blue shirt and had black hair) was not wearing a mask and gloves. This baker kept on shuffling from the back (where the pastries are located) to the front with customers, still without a mask. The gross violations of no mask wearing and touching the food without gloves was disgusting! I walked out without purchasing anything, stay away.

This is the best kosher Bakery ever! The challah is absolutely delicious sweet and moist. The baked goods, rugelach , bobka are amazing! We got souvganiot for Hannukah yesterday and were back for more today. They have jelly, dulce de leche, chocolate. We tried the jelly and dulce deleche. The jelly was spilling out of the doughnut. I actually closed my eyes and felt like I was in Israel! I highly recommend Sonny 's it's definitely worth the drive! Enjoy!

This Kosher bakery is a gem in this section of Miami!!! I mean, wow!!! Their baked goods are insanely delicious!!! Now, my only beef with this place is that their hours are so inconvenient-listen!!!-I understand that they observe the Sabbath-which is cool with me but what about opening on Sunday's for the pagans like me!!! However, this beef of mine can Never take away from the amazingly fresh baked items produced here!!! The service-super friendly, kind and accommodating! The prices-nice for daily fresh breads and cakes. The food-crazy-good...this place is like my Kryptonite!!!! **Note: If you are dating someone who is all about the Sabbath then bless them with breads, pastries and cakes from this place!!! So, check it out...I ordered some Almond croissants, which everyone needs these in their lives-so, soft-full of almond flavor and almond filling!!-Amazing!!! I also ordered the Chocolate cigars and the chocolate croissants-it was so good, it just melts in your mouth-this baker is "Doin' his Thang" with these bakery ovens-this must be his calling-to open an Awesome bakery with fantastic baking skills...and let the people say "Amen!!"..."oh, Lord...this is Tha Yelp Daddy...please, let them open on Sunday's too."

This bakery is top notch!!! They make so many things fresh daily: challahs, rolls, all types of pastries, rugelach, babka, guava challah, palmiers. My favorite cookies are the mamoul cookies filled with date and perfect texture. In addition they have gluten free options.You can tell that the baker does everything with love! Your the best Sonny!

Probably the best bakery i've been to in South Florida. Sonny makes the best Jewish pastries you can get and he radiates love and kindness. The smell of this place will almost knock you out- it is incredible. Do yourself a favor and support this locally- owned business. It is SUCH A GEM, every single person who has worked in the bakery has been welcoming, kind, patient, helpful. Love this place and everyone involved!! I wish I could give this 6 stars. The man is a baking genius and the baked goods are not only the best in Florida... U will not find a better ruggalah or bobka in NY and may have a tough time finding better in Jerusalem. This is absolutely the best. Worth the carbs.. a true treat. I challenge u to actually make it home with the chocolate ruggalah because most likely they will all be eaten en route. Seriously... The best!!!

What a great find! Called this place on a Thursday and placed a order for Shannon's pick up. Let's start with the most amazing guava challah which was absolutely delicious! We had company for Shabbat and everyone was loving it. Extremely fresh and moist. We also had the high chocolate babka which was outstanding! Not dry bit just extremely fresh and delicious. We will definitely be back!

hands down the very best ..i come from Fy lauderdale and I am not kosher but their chocolate croissants and their babka and rugs are worth driving from anywhere to get to this bakery ..did i mention the challah . .the apple and guava filled challah and tear away ...5 stars

Sonny's are the best baked goods we have ever eaten and they're kosher, too! The challah is out of this world, especially the chocolate and the apple. The babka is exquisite, particularly the chocolate. But everything is extremely delicious and reasonably priced. Special orders are also available. The staff is friendly, accommodating, and bilingual. Don't take me at my word; just try anything at Sonny's!

I've lived in this area for quite a while, and I've never heard of this place until recently, so I thought I would go check it out, and wow, I wish I knew about this bakery sooner! They have essential baked goods, such as rugelach, challah bread, and best of all croissants (I'm not 100% sure these are kosher, but they are darn good!). Their rugelach is very chocolate-y without it being overwhelming sweet, and they sell these miniature ones in a box (I think there are 14 of them) for around $7, which is pretty reasonable. Don't let their small size fool you: they're absolutely delicious and very fresh! They are flaky and delectable on the outside while also being soft and packed with chocolate on the inside. Their challah bread is very delicious as well: it is slightly sweet, but also fluffy, aromatic, and almost cloud like. Overall, it's a fantastic bakery (though it is a little pricey) and I would highly recommend!

Petrus, went there for the first an the last time, the prie online for a challah is $ 4.50 than i went and bought one. The old lady shouted to the younger one that i had to pay $ 6.00, what i did for a plain challah. Don't understand why i had to pay more. Will never go back

A long time ago, when I lived in this area I knew of all the great kosher places. As I moved further North, and it off touch to a while. I spent too much time chatting with old friends in the area, and found myself in a bit of a bakery emergency- I had been in my way to a family gathering and wanted to be polite and bring dessert. Without any hesitation Sonny's was recommended, with an aside that if I brought the chocolate bobka I'd be considered a hero. As I didn't have much time, I hurried over. When I arrived, I first walked into the chocolate store next door by accident. Through the correct unassuming doorway into a bakery previously described as "no frills, " the sweet irresistible scent of fresh baked goods flourishes. This is no French bakery full of pomp, circumstance, and 4 dollar macaroons (though I do love macaroons!!) this is the real deal for authentic kosher rugelach, challah, rolls, etc... And of course the chocolate bobka. The baker greeted me immediately and assisted me with my purchase. He was especially nice and welcoming. My favorite part of this adventure was eating the rolls I bought (couldn't help myself) on the way to the gathering. They were amazing!

Ahh, heaven! As I type this, I am lounging in my stretchy pants because I am full of rugelach. The chocolate rugelach is swirled with bittersweet chocolate and glazed with syrup. Sticky and crisp. It is divine. Chocolate croissants use similar flaky pastry as the rugelach. These are big croissants stuffed with more bittersweet chocolate gold. Mine was a little underdone in the middle. However, by Miami standards, it is an excellent pastry and folks in and around my Aventura neighborhood rave about them. Now the challah: I've been eating it unadorned- so good without anything! Pillow soft, toothsome, sweetly glazed. I had both sesame and whole wheat. I have decided that I want my final resting place to be inside of this bread. Please, save on the cremation costs and just bake me into a gigantic loaf of this bread. If they bar me from heaven for the sin of gluttony, that's ok. I'll be buried in Sonny's challah, which has got to be a close second. Notes: they close by 3 PM on Friday to observe Shabbat, and they re-open on Monday. This is purely a bakery-- no tables, coffee service, or bathrooms. I went on a Tuesday morning and the selection was limited. I spotted the babka dough in their workroom. The gentleman working their (I presume this was Sonny) informed me that it is available Wednesday. They also sell Sonny's bakery nearby at La Fruteria. This is an excellent bakery.

I bought few boxes of baked goods and all of them were delicious. Especially the Mamuls!

This Jewish bakery is outstanding. It is purely a bakery. They do not serve coffee, tea, or beverages. But I hope they do so in the future. They make all types of delicious food especially challah. My favorite is the chocolate croissant. But they also have babka, rugelach and many other absolutely delicious things to eat.

Wrong business hours posted on Yelp by the owner, drove there for nothing on Friday thinking they'll be open till 7 and they where close being that it wasn't Shabbat yet. Thank you for wasting my time is 6:15 and you are close.

No frills. Working bakery and the items are in racks in front. Wow! I bought challah yesterday and am finding it hard to eat other food. If you were lucky enough to know Skylake bakery in the day, this one way surpasses and 100% kosher! It's a 10 star, highly recommend.

Yelp shows that the bakery is open. I have been calling for 2 days to place an order and all I get is the answering machine. I have left several messages and no one has called me back. I hope they are okay. It is a wonderful bakery.

Sonny's bakery has delicious pastries and halla. I cant stay away from this place! This is my go to place for every shabat. Sonny takes excellent care of his customers and is extremely warm and caring. He is that way with me and everyone I see who walks into his bakery. Highly recommend you stop in to check this place out yourself.
