Beautiful stop right on the water. We sat outside at the rooftop. Our server was very attentive and friendly - she knew what she was doing! The food was delicious and I highly recommend the pirate punch. Will stop back by here again soon!

So nice we ate here twice! Their pesto is to die for so you should definitely order the pesto gnocchi (not pictured). We got pizzas the second time and they were good. They have a nice salad bar too. My only complaint was the wine I ordered tasted like it had been open for awhile and it was pretty flat.

Staying at a hotel in town and placed a first time delivery order. We ordered the Old Chicago deep dish pizza and requested added onions. Delivery was timely. The pizza arrived hot and just as ordered. I was blown away by the weight of this thing, though. It was the heaviest restaurant pizza we've ever received!! And the cheese!! So cheesy... look at the pictures! Definitely will order from them again when in town 😋

Rude manager and young staff who lacks training. Would not recommend. They advertise online that they have vegan options, I’ve been going for years and told many of their crusts including the Neapolitan were dairy free. Went in a couple days ago and now the only dairy free pizza is the gluten free crust so you have to pay 4 dollars for the gluten free sweet chewy gross crust AND for your vegan cheese. We had some back and forth with the kitchen because of what we’d been told in the past and ended up speaking with the manager. Instead of trying to solve our problem the manager shoved a frozen shrink wrapped gluten free pizza crust in our face. It seemed nobody actually knew why we had been told 2 months ago that the deep dish, Neapolitan and NY crusts were all DAIRY FREE, they just wanted us to pay the 4 dollars for a frozen gluten free crust. Nobody could tell us if these other crusts had dairy and the manager kept insisting the Sicilian crust has powdered milk. The staff and kitchen both had no idea, they all need allergy training. I have been told by many other servers over the years that many of the crusts are dairy free, they no longer are or never were. They desperately need to train their staff in allergies. I luckily do not have an allergy, but I have been told many of the crusts are dairy free not just the gluten free. I would not recommend this restaurant for someone who is vegan or dairy free or who has any allergy.

Energetic atmosphere - Loud. Very busy place so service and cleanliness were lacking. I don't think they have much time when its busy, as it was on our trip, to keep up with the dropped food under tables and such. Our pizza was really good and we got the big pretzel, well, just becuase. Its huge! Drinks were good. Our waitress was friendly enough but was less then attentive. We had to call to her/ stop her as she was going past our table to get water refills and order drinks. Views from our table were lovely and on the deck was live music. Hard to hear each other talk but totally expected with a large crowd and live music. Mix of ages including families and people with their dogs. Overall enjoyed the experience.

This was the best gluten-free cauliflower crust I've ever had. I have alpha-gal and I'm celiac. Eating out is such a struggle. I can't thank you enough for making such a delicious pizza. Our waitress was great, too!

We’re from Chicago, and we’ve been away for almost a week. My wife was craving pizza, and since we’re from Chicagoland, we have our favorite pizzas there. So, going outside the area for pizza isn’t always satisfying. I’ll start by saying that I eat my entire half of the pizza. But I need to be fair. We ordered one of their signature veggie pizzas. The crust was tasty, well-cooked, slightly crisp, and slightly soft. There was a lot of flour, and the sauce was okay. It was more like a purée with small chunks of tomatoes. They put a decent amount on it for my wife, but I needed to order extra sauce. Our very young server, who overall gave us excellent service, brought the sauce out cold. 🥶 The cheese was your standard mozzarella mix, and it was plentiful and served at the perfect temperature. My biggest problem was that for a signature pizza, there wasn’t a lot of signature ingredients. It was pretty much missing the mushrooms, very few tiny pieces of green peppers and onions, and it looked like one very small Roma tomato was cut up on top. My wife is a meat eater, so she got pepperoni on her half, and there was plenty of that. It was tasty and not greasy. I suppose if you’re coming from Idaho, this pizza would be absolutely amazing. The ambiance was great, and we had a beautiful view of the bay. The staff is mostly very young and probably just making some extra money for the summer. everybody was very friendly.

I really enjoyed the pizza. The pasta was alright. We had the private room and the definitely took good care of us. Lovely attitude and good food.

Yes hardly give 5 star. This place is phenomenal with food is amazing. I'll give them score to 0-10 I'll give them 11. Service is excellent from the moment we walk in with Heidi's guidance with the worker, from Nick our server. Ambiance is full of LOVE sunset is a must to try. We sat on roof top. Very busy place on a Friday night in tourist season. We couldn't find a parking spot in their lot, but we were able to steal one across the street. With it being so busy, we figured it would be a while. They did tell us it would be about 30 minutes to get a table (we requested outside specifically), but we had barely sat down to wait at the bar to wait before our buzzer went off. Our seat was outside technically, but more in a sun room area. It was not what we expected at first, but we were glad for the windows as the sun went down and the wind picked up. I ordered a Vodka Cherry Lemonade because when in Rome. It was delightful, no notes. For soft drinks though: Pepsi. As basically everywhere around Door County. My Margherita pizza was good, but the crust was not as thin as I would expect for a neapolitan style. The salad bar is included with entrees but not with pizzas. I added it to my order, I think it was $5.99 or something like this? The salad bar was small but it served its purpose. We were there during a really busy time and they were struggling with keeping it fully stocked with the lettuce selection, but we got what we needed. This seems to be mainly a spot for tourists. One local we met made a face when we told her we'd dined here, and said we could have done better. But as a tourist, I thought it was a perfectly nice enough place to enjoy a waterfront dinner on a Friday night.

First evening in Door County, and we headed to Sonny's for some waterfront dining to kick off our weekend. The parking lot was packed when we arrived, but we managed to find a spot nearby. We were greeted cheerfully and added our names to the outdoor waitlist. We grabbed seats at the bar and were about to order a pre-dinner drink to pass the 25 to 30 minute wait, but before we could even get a cocktail menu in hand, our buzzer went off. We asked if someone had canceled, but the host just smiled and said they had "found something for us." That "something" turned out to be a table in the sunroom. It was covered, enclosed with clear glass, and had a breeze coming through. It was not quite the open-air, al fresco vibe we were expecting. Still, after a full day of travel, we were more than ready to sit down and enjoy a meal. We ordered Door County Cherry hard lemonades and waters to drink. For food, we chose the Neapolitan-style Margherita pizza and the porcini mushroom and rigatoni pasta. The pasta dish came with a salad bar, and my friend added one to her meal for $4.99. The salad bar was not the most impressive. The lettuce bin looked a little picked over, but we managed to cobble together decent plates. The cherry lemonade was absolutely delicious and refreshing. Honestly, it helped me forget all about the lackluster salad. Our pizza and pasta came out quickly and were hot and fresh. The pasta was flavorful, and the portion size was huge. We both ate from the bowl, and it still looked untouched. The pizza was light, fresh, and exactly what you would hope for from a classic Margherita. All in all, it was not quite the breezy patio experience we had in mind, but the food was tasty, the drinks were great, and the service was friendly. A solid start to our Door County weekend.

Excellent pizza. We ordered 12" pizza for the two of us and had lots of leftovers. The bloody was really large and OK. I didn't know it came with so many garnishes. Way too many. Service was good. We go during off hours as this is a very popular place. Rightly so.

Location. Location. Location. If you are going to be in Sturgeon Bay, especially in the summer, Sonny's is a solid destination. With views of the marina, bridge and water, it has tremendous views. We went on a weekend with a large tour group. We had been given a paired down choice of menu options including salads, pastas, pizzas and Nashville Hot Chicken. My dining partner and I each went with the Nashville Hot Chicken. The sauce was appropriately hot and was served on the side. It was a really good sandwich. The fries were pre-frozen crinkle style fries. Unfortunately, they were not great. We finished up with a piece of cheesecake with cherry sauce. They must have run low on the cherry sauce, as it was about a teaspoon of sauce on top of the cheesecake. Others in our group liked their salads and pizza. Our servers were efficient. They quickly took our drink orders and after delivering them weren't really seen again. I would attribute it to a busy restaurant and us being part of a large group. Overall, I'd give them 3.75 stars; however, Yelp doesn't trust us with half stars, so we definitely won't see 3/4 stars anytime soon. Go for the location, stay for the food.

Decided to try it again. Didnt have something on the menu that I had ordered asked what could be replaced and asked what said item was and they had no clue. If you have something on your menu the staff should know what it is and be able to articulate it to the customer This is the last time ordering from there. Plus its super expensive They never took the item off the cheque. So had to call and still doesnt reflect the changes. Be very careful and check your receipts

Great service. Nice outside seating. Pizza was very good. Fried Cheese curds were delicious Wings were amazing and that says a lot when you're from Buffalo and get them out of town and they are that good! Pineapple margarita was huge and very good. Great spot on the water.

Extensive pasta menu (the stuffed gnocchi pesto is amazing) with nice views of the water, and good service. Seems to be popular with families, so if potentially noisy kids at the next table are not your jam, maybe go a little later in the evening.

I stopped here for a beer and appetizer after a bike ride from Algoma. I would say that this restaurant's ambiance/location is the main draw. The restaurant is located on the water and has great views of the Michigan Street Bridge. Additionally, Skipper Buds Marina is connected to the Pizzeria's property. Regarding the food and drink, we had bruschetta which was good. The presentation was ascetically pleasing. However, the bread was harder than I would have liked, and the bruschetta fell apart after my first bite. Sonny's Pizzeria has an excellent ambiance, good food, and friendly wait staff. If you are in Sturgeon Bay, this is solid choice for Italian food.

We were disappointed to find that the Sicilian Mediterranean style pizza was quite small. However, when reviewing the menu, we noticed that it did describe this pizza as serving 1-2 people. Oops! The flavor was nice, very garlicky. We also enjoyed the combination of toppings on this pizza but the texture of the crust was the star of the show.. chewy, crunchy, and airy. Our only complaint would be that the pizza was quite salty. Would we try another pizza from Sonny's? Sure. The inside of the restaurant was basically a maritime tavern, very cozy and inviting. We ordered pick-up but would definitely opt to eat-in for our next visit.

We have now dined here twice, and each meal has been quite good, the service very good and friendly. We also visited the Brewery downstairs several times - good beer and friendly service. The place has a nice, chill vibe with locals and tourists frequenting the place. First visit we each tried pasta dishes - both very good. Tonight, we arrived at 7:30 pm knowing the kitchen was shutting down at 8 pm (Sunday night). We were coming in from out of town and we were hungry for some pizza. Host was very nice and said he could have a table for us in 5 minutes. Waitress was prompt and super friendly. We made sure to order quickly - the place is staffed with lots of high school students and we didn't want them working late because of us and the three other tables that came in behind us. Pizza was out in 15 minutes, piping hot. Server checked in on us twice to make sure we were doing ok. Bill presented with a "no rush, take your time." Only (small) complaint is the wine list - no real selection and the wines are listed by varietal (Chardonnay, Cabernet, Pinot, etc.) but no winery listed. Otherwise a nice selection of beer, cocktails, soft drinks, etc.

The pizza was probably 6/10, but the service was great and the views were pretty along with a nice trail right outside of the building surrounded by the lake and the Michigan bridge. The food isn't the main appeal of this restaurant; though, it was certainly still good!

Good pizza but "gluten free" cauliflower crust was not gluten intolerant friendly. The location is great and lots of seating both indoor and outdoor. Beautiful location by the water. I don't know if they gave me the normal crust or if the cauliflower crust is still full of gluten but it upset my stomach all night. Be careful when ordering that crust if you have any intolerance. Other than that the pizza was good. The meat seemed to have lacked flavor of which I would expect from a cheaper pizza place. For the price I was hoping for a better tasting pizza. Lots of cheese used on the pizza though so that was yummy. We ordered the boneless wings and those seemed to go over well. Good bbq flavor.

I ordered the Shrimp Diavolo via delivery, it was delivered in about 30 minutes and hot in temperature. That's where the good review stops unfortunately, I was just completely disappointed with the sauce, it was watered down and kinda bland, not even that much spiciness to it. I was also very unimpressed with the whole dish having just 6 shrimp in it. If I had the option for it, I'd "maybe" make the review 2.5/5. But it certainly doesn't deserve 3 star review. I've had many other pasta dishes of theirs and they were much better. I'll DEFINITELY NOT be ordering this one again. Photo doesn't really do any justice to show the watery sauce, this is after I ate about half of it. I'm not even looking forward to eating the rest of it.

Sonny's Pizzeria sits right on the canal of Sturgeon Bay. This great location is paired with amazing outdoor dining views. The menu had a good selection. The waiter was attentive and friendly. The pizza did not disappoint!

I'm from Chicago so I know good pizza. This pizza was ok. Thin crust not too thick no5 too thin but also not a ton of flavor either. Ordered half cheese half mushroom and tomato. They did a cute little crust pinch to show the middle of the pizza. Too bad they didn't put the ingredients up to the middle. What I really got was a 3/4 cheese pizza and a 1/4 toppings pizza. Again dough very bland and sauce nothing to write home about. I am hoping sturgeon bay has better pizza available to the locals that I just have not found.

Had pizza and wings delivered. Pepperoni and green olives must be very expensive. There were hardly any of either on my pizza. The Nashville hot wings were greasy and nasty.

Speed pizza nothing good. Kinda costly too. We had delivery and was surprised at the size of the pizza. No fancy sauce ingredients were meh.

Thin crust pizza with sausage was good. Very disappointed with the cherry pie which is Door County's specialty- crust was soggy & fruit was tasteless & mushy.

Return visit this time with my 80's yo friends! Sonny's is situated well for viewing the activity at the Michigan St. bridge. The Saturday lunchtime hustle was fine as we were guided to our table. "Protected Outside" (Covered, in the shade and airy) was perfect for the group. As for the food. Excellent choices and decent prices. The small deep dish pizza hit the spot. WARNING! The portions are HUGE! Definitely consider splitting. Saw a few small dogs as well so... pet friendly? Definitely worth the price/effort and is high on my list to recommend.

Cute place with great service and water views. Do you love Alfredo sauce? Then it's the place for you. Rigatoni with v tomato vodka sauce and fettuccini Alfredo were good, pizza okay, chicken tenders not great. We ordered Linguine with clams in white sauce. We were served fettuccini Alfredo with clams. There were more shells than clams. We should have returned it or asked questions about the sauce. Would go back for drinks and appetizers to watch a game.

One bite everyone knows the rules. The restaurant offers beautiful outdoor seating with views of the water, which enhances the dining experience. Order a "Nic's" Pizza. It's not on the menu. 8.0 solid. 8.3 with the story. Just ask for Nic. You're going to be golden. So much food for the money. Huge value here and it tastes amazing.

I was only in town for a night and the hotel recommended this place. And bruh...the Old Chicago deep dish is by far one of the best (close #1 in my list) pizzas I have ever had the pleasure of eating. Chicago deep dish crust, with a thick layer of cheese topped with what seemed like a single large patty of sausage, red sauce, and tomatoes. Shut the front door!!! If there was a way to get this delivered to my home in NC, I'd gladly pay the shipping. Don't bother trying any other pizza while in town. Pay the Uber driver an extra $20 to get you to this place and completely disregard the speed limit. Then be prepared for a post-pizza coma as you attempt to tackle this perfect pizza pie.

Been here several times in the last 5 years! Always worth returning to. This time we had to wait about 30 mins for one pizza, but it was Saturday and they were busy with a waiting line. Food is always amazing, as I've said, this is a repeat place for us!!! Always nice to sit outside for the views and bay feels.

What an amazing location Sonny's Pizza has! Overlooking the marina and draw bridge in Sturgeon Bay - this place is a focal point! We try to stop here for a drink or meal every time going to Door County. Great architecture and a couple outdoor areas to choose from when the weather allows eating outside.

It was not bad. But it was not good. It was not good pizza. But it did the trick in a pinch and I was glad something was available for our hungry kids. We had the thin crust. It was fantastic that they delivered out to our hotel which was several minutes outside of Sturgeon Bay.

We were traveling through town and found Sonny's on Yelp and I'm so glad that we did. I cannot understand how anyone could give this wonderful place a bad review. The service was absolutely amazing, as she was very attentive and on top of things. The food? Let's face it, pizza is a common thing anymore and they nailed it. The views of the bay are outstanding. Nothing like this even exists where we live and if we lived closer, we'd be regulars. Well done!

Walked in on a Friday night to order and pick up, as were sitting in town. Hostesses took our order and let us know our order would be ready in 30 minutes-enjoyed a beautiful walk on the lakefront until our order was ready- Hot, just as ordered, and oh so delicious!! Was even ready a few minutes early!

A little underwhelming. Stopped in for lunch and ate outside. The outdoor area is pretty being right off the water but the food is mediocre. We split a pizza, cheese curds and a salad. Everything was ok. Wouldn't go somewhere else next time!

My rating of 3 stars means I would not come back on my own but if I was with a group who wanted to go I would not object (much). My experience with Sonny's was take out pizza on line. They have an enormous range of toppings, styles, sizes and customizable options such a one half pepperoni and one half sausage. All of this looked good when we ordered on line although it took a while to make all the choices. But when we got the pizzas they were dry and not very tasty. Since we were hungry we ate them but next time I would try another place. Although we did take out I noticed they have a nice dining area on the water. Our food came right out when we arrived and the person who handled our order was friendly. We also ordered a couple of large salads which were good.

Food, I had an online order. Ordered 2 medium pizzas. 1 thick and 1 thin crust. The end edge crusts on both were so hard you couldn't even bite them as they just broke apart. Toppings were generous and tasty. I also ordered a garlic cheese entree order. They stacked 5 pieces on top of each other in a medium styrofoam take home container (maybe they should try a pizza box where they can lay on one level). Which made them all melt together except one of the bottom pieces as it had no actual cheese on it ( bad quality control).

The food was very good, the service was great, and the overall ambiance was very pleasant and had a vibe of a older restaurant.

Nick was fantastic. Funny, accommodating and kind. We were here as a group of six - a small wake to celebrate my mom's life. She graduated from HS and got married here. Food took a little long to arrive but was good. Varied from pizza to salads to pasta

Great location! Atmosphere was good! The pizza was delicious and we substitute with cauliflower crust really good choice. The mussels were delicious and the cheese curds as well. Our server was right on point with keeping the drinks coming,removing plates and bringing the food at a reasonable time.

We are local. Pizza keeps getting worse. The host sits us at a table next to the kitchen. The entire restaurant was empty. We asked to be moved and were and served great. So much cheese! Great views but pizza was pretty gross

We had a really nice meal - thin crust taco pizza and a beautiful and fresh Caesar salad + some cold beers. Shout out to our waitress, McKenzie - she was friendly and really served us well!!! We ate outside on the deck and the scenery was an amazing backdrop. We will go back to try some other food here - lots of things in the menu and the pastas looked yummy!

5/5 stars Mercedes is an attentive and responsive bar tender who makes phenomenal drinks... came into town for a bass fishing trip and it has been the highlight of the trip. The specialty drink she made was to die for and she went above and beyond to make our experience perfect! She also provided great conversation and was quite easy on the eyes. Will be back!

Our family loves Sonny's! I can have a gf pizza, my husband can have chicken and my daughter and grandson were pleased with the lunch buffet. They did wait a long time for the pizza to be replenished but all was well in the end since in the end they have ice cream with the buffet!! We also love that this restaurant is on the bay by a draw bridge.

Quick service and no frills eatery. We ordered the Nashville hot sandwich and supreme pizza without olives. Both were good for what we needed, something to soak up the booze in our stomachs. The Nashville hot didn't have a pickle and was a little hotter than I would've liked. The personal pizza was good, nothing to write home about. They seemed to have a good beer selection but were out of the beers I had a taste for at the time.

We just arrived in Sturgeon Bay and really needed to eat - we were so hungry! Just near our hotel, we saw this restaurant right off the water. Surprised, we found out it was an Italian not a seafood restaurant. The building was beautiful and the views were as well! Busy- we asked to sit outdoors, where were were sat in an enclosed, outdoor spot - interesting right! Glass separated us from the outdoor elements but gave us that outdoor feeling! We ordered a small pizza and the Chicken Marsala. An unlimited salad bar came with the entree' - which was nice. Food came pretty quick - bit we really didn't pay much attention tot eh time since the view was so beautiful. Irv loved had a veggi pizza which had sun roasted tomatoes and cheese. My Chicken Marsala was a ginormous portion with a huge amount of mushrooms. The sauce was plentiful and creamy, and covered all of the noodles. The meal must have given us two-3 cups of noodles and made me nervous that I wouldn't be able to finish it ( which is always a requirement for me) so I began sharing it with Irv, which caused him to stop eating his pizza. (Hehehe) He remarked how flavorful the tomatoes were before he closed it in a to-go container. Before long, he only ate Marsala and we both finished my Marsala pretty handily - hahahaha. He packed his pizza to go! Haha- I won! I also ordered a frozen Pina Colada. It was a pretty nice size and garnished with two skewered cherries. We are very glad to stop at the Sonny's Italian restaurant - we left very full!

Service was good. Food was delicious! Definitely recommend if you want Italian. They have a mini salad bar which was okay; not a lot of veggies but still good.

Pretty good service - very busy, great food. On vacation, stayed next door at Bridgeport great location just walked over. Very busy for dinner on the weekend but that attests to how good it is. A couple of us had the buffet and a couple had just pizza. 1 kid had the pesto pizza, big branch out for her too but she loved it! I made my own with vegan cheese it was fantastic. Other kids and husband did the buffet everything was great - potatoes, fried chicken, bread sticks and more pizza of course! Ordered more pizza for lunch a few days later.

We really enjoy the Chicago style Deep Dish pizza. The sauce is really the most authentic Italian with delicious flavors. The crust is medium thickness and equally as delicious. If you're a fan of mozzarella cheese- this is your pie!

Presentation and service were great, view was amazing. However the food was.. meh. Spent over $100 for 2 margaritas and one pizza a piece. Buffalo chicken stuffed pizza looked great but was served on a bed of grease. We also got the pollo cream pizza that was pretty good! If we came back it would be only for the amazing views (:

We came here two nights in a row and it's clearly a hot spot where the crowd congregates, tourists and locals alike. We tried one pizza each night, one meat and the other vegetarian and both were solid choices. The pizza crust is quite thin and has almost a cracker-like texture. Their chicken marsala pasta was rather good. The chicken was juicy and tender, and the sauce was very rich and creamy. I didn't finish the pasta and it heated well the next day, a perfect dish to have for leftovers. We also tried a baked marinara pasta but I would skip that- it was rather dry for us.

I'm not sure why this place only had 3.5 stars but the pizza is absolutely delicious! I had take out but the atmosphere walking in was welcoming and relaxing.

Up for the weekend & chose this near our hotel, cuz it's Fri. night! Very, very happy with the whole meal! Great service, hot cheese curds & really good thin crust pizza (meat lovers)! Will definitely return next time we're driving this way. Give them a try!!
