Tried the Kimchi Ramen at Sonoma inside LGW.
For airport food, this was actually a solid option. It arrived quickly (around 10–15 minutes), was filling, and felt like a much better choice than the typical pre-flight fast food. I paid around £18, which isn’t cheap in absolute terms, but fairly reasonable for an airport sit-down meal.
The broth was spicy and warming, and I liked the variety of vegetables included. It felt fresh and substantial, and the portion size was generous. I left full, which was exactly what I wanted before a flight.
That said, it’s not a traditional ramen experience. There’s no real aroma oil or richness to coat the palate, so it lacks the depth and mouthfeel you’d expect from a proper ramen shop. I wouldn’t recommend it to food-focused diners looking for authenticity.
However, as a convenient, filling airport option with quick service and plenty of seating in a pleasant, airy space, it does the job well.
Good airport comfort food — just not destination ramen.
