Sonoma Wine Bar + Bottle Shop – Katy

I’ve been a big fan of Sonoma for years, but only recently made it to their location in Katy. Beautiful spot, great environment, and family friendly patio with a spot for everyone to enjoy. Great wine selection, I love the pizzas and charcuterie options. Small snacks if you just want to do a wine tasting. The ‘by the glass’ menu has a range of regions/varieties to choose from and the bottle list is expansive. They also have seasonal options if you’re in the mood to try something new. Highly recommend any glass of their fine red wines with a charcuterie board where you can choose your meats/cheeses.

Absolutely phenomenal! Jose makes the best food! The wines are unique and to die for! I’m glad we finally have a good spot in katy to unwind and enjoy a meal equally as tasty. Everything is GREAT! Service is top tier. It’s laid back, music not too overwhelming, all kinds of people, races, cultures all relaxing enjoying the vibes. I stumbled across this place leaving a baby shower next door to union kitchen. I’ll be purchasing a bottle to go home.

We were here for the first time, and the experience was great. The waitress helped us choose the wines with the pairings which we ended up loving. We even took a bottle home. A simple date turned into an experience. Thank you

Loved every bit of it. Charcuterie was perfect, beer selection was decent which I wasn’t expecting, they had enough wines for my picky wife to find a flight she enjoyed, and the service was some of the best I’ve ever had in my life. They were so kind and attentive. We’ve been a few times and will continue to return. Love this spot! It’s also fun to watch the kids run around and play, but keep your eyes out for a flying ball every now and then!

I like finding new places to visit for food and beverage and I like it even more when the new place is close to home. Here in Katy, TX we have a respectable number of bars and restaurants from which to choose, but we don’t have many wine bars. One of them happens to be Sonoma Wine Bar, the newest of three Sonoma locations in the greater Houston area. Upon entering Sonoma Wine Bar Katy, the first thing that got my attention was the size. It is larger than the outside would lead you to believe, with a seating section in front, a seating section in the back, and a bar with seating in the middle. There is room for about 40 people inside. There is also an outdoor patio, which holds another 20 or so guests. The seating is varied, with tables and chairs, bench seats, and individual upholstered chairs, so you can select the comfort and arrangement that suits you best. There are racks of wine on display, too. Large windows let the natural light brighten your experience and there is soft lighting for the evening hours. Music plays quietly in the background so that you can converse with the people around you with ease. Sonoma Wine Bar Katy serves a wide array of wines, both individual glass servings and full bottle servings. If you are unsure which to try, ask the wait staff and they will help you select. They serve several beers also, plus soft drinks. If you want to snack while you drink, I recommend one of the cheese boards. They have several fancy cheeses from which to choose, all served on a board that includes crackers, almonds, bread, and honey. If you’re a little hungrier than usual, they serve flatbread pizza, plus a few sandwiches and other foods. With the wines, Sonoma Wine Bar Katy serves flights, which is perfect when you want to sample several different wines. Depending on your taste preferences and/or if you want to pair with one of the food items, there is a wine to match. The service is helpful and friendly, too, and they will assist you in finding the best wine for your taste preference. If you find a wine you really enjoy and it’s offered in full bottles, you can purchase a bottle wine to go, at a cut rate. Katy is somewhat lacking when it comes to wine bars. Sonoma Wine Bar Katy is one of the few, and it’s an excellent place for wine, light bites, and good conversation. I recommend arriving before 6pm and taking advantage of happy hour deals. It’s a nice place to drink, dine, and chat, and it’s a wine bar to which I am certain to return.

Not sure what people are talking about with the service. Maybe it gets really busy? We had a great time. Server even gave us a great rec for a new wine to try. We had one of their cheese selections and the cheesecake mousse, both of which were great and the cheese selection came with nice bread and a bit of honey. My only complaint would be the tasting flight setup. It’s $25 for three half glass pours. So that’s $25 for 1.5 glasses. Would definitely rather have 6 quarter glass pours and get to explore more wines to find one I like. No one wants to be forced to drink a half a glass of wine they don’t like. The patio area is nice and interior is stylish. Presentation on everything was top notch.

Our favorite local wine bar - really one of the best in Houston!

Hosted a party for 30+ here and it was great!! Everything was organized, service was fantastic and the wine was flowing. Definitely recommend for any occasion!

After lunch my wife and I were out just getting out of the house for a while and I surprised her at Sonoma Wine Bar. She's a little wine girl and knew she would like this. She later said she was familiar with their other location as she once took customers there, pre-pandemic. We were greeted at the door and offered any seat we wanted. Menus and water brought over and the mgr explained their offerings, wine and food. He asked about what we like, Cabs for her and Malbec for me. I selected a flight (great deal) that he tailored to my likes and wife had a glass tailored to her likes. This is helpful as not having had any of there wines, not sure which direction to go. I wish I had taken a pic of my flight, but it was perfect. After she finished her glass and me my flight, we got a bottle of our favorite - Cocodrilo - a red blend from Argentina. Awesome place and will certainly be back. They have outdoor seating and when it cools down a bit, will make a great evening.

I visited this past Friday at 3:00 p.m. I have been to the River Oaks location and loved it so I wanted to try out their other locations. This location was nestled deep in Katy surrounded by some other businesses but close to the neighborhood . This location is perfect for those who live in Katy. I ordered the $15 Somm Flight. One major difference between this location and the other is River Oaks had a sommelier on staff so in addition to the flight you get information on the wines. I'm used to getting the names, region and notes. At this location I was just told there was a Chardonnay, Rosè and a Cabernet Sauvignon and was only given the names after asking. The wines at the other location went well together these not so much. The quality and freshness of my wines were different as well and my wines tasted like the bottle had been open for days. I must admit I'm pickier than most and I'm wine certified so these things do matter to me. One other thing to note is pizza is not served at this location. Service was great and everyone was friendly and attentive. The staff made me feel very welcome. They have a nice patio out back which would be great at night. This spot would be great for date night or when you don't want to be around a large crowd because it wasn't super crowded. I can see myself working remotely from this location. Overall I would definitely go back but it would not be my first choice. I prefer the River Oaks location.

They have plenty of outdoor and indoor seating. The back patio is on the green so can kinda get loud if kids are out there playing. We started outside then came in when kids were getting rowdy. We tried the flights and really enjoyed the malbecs they had. My friends and I shared a board and everything was delicious. It's a cute place on the inside, very quiet and quaint. Definitely will be back and they give great recommendations!

I really enjoy having a neighborhood wine bar! We opted for a less expensive bottle of wine but they were out and offered us a price match in a better bottle- great customer service!

Savack and his staff keep us coming back for a fantastic experience. The warm and gracious greeting makes you feel valued and at home. Everything is always presented beautifully. The wine tasting is a fantastic way to enjoy with friends. Words don't do it justice.

It's been a minute since I've visited. I've missed coming here. Note to self: come. Relax and have a glass of bubbly..

My husband just hosted a retirement party at Sonoma for 16 people. Everyone from Sonoma was so helpful with throwing the event. We've hosted these parties before at other restaurants and those other restaurants are never set up well for our events. Sonoma was great! We were set up on the patio during a beautiful night. Wine was amazing and the food was delicious! Inside was clean, inviting, and well decorated. We look forward to going again.

This is the best new place in Katy! I love coming here. It's beautiful on the inside, and has a great patio. It has the best wine selection this side of Houston! The charcuterie boards are amazing too. Highly recommend Sonoma!

Stopped by on a whim several weeks ago. Headed back soon. Very nice people and decent selection of wines.

Highly recommend Sonoma!! Great ambience - perfect for date night or girls night out. Location is great for kiddos to play on green turf while adults enjoy their wine.

This is Sonoma's third Houston area location and it is just a fabulous as the rest! Amazing wine list and charcuterie. Great atmosphere and beautiful outdoor patio. With this convenient location, you will probably find me here at least once a week! High recommend!
