A Running List of San Francisco and Bay Area Restaurant Closings | Eater SF

"I learned Soon and Soon, the small souvenir and coffee shop from Mister Jui’s Brandon Jew, closed per an Instagram post; the shop sold coffee and pastries alongside merch like water bottles, hoodies, hats, and tote bags." - Paolo Bicchieri

I like the decor of the spot, which drew me to it in the first place. I got the eye of the tiger latte which had orange zest in a mocha and honestly, it just tasted of orange and not much else. The flavors didn’t blend together well or harmonize in any way. Everything else on their menu is really simple latte or drip coffee. Would like to see a bit more variety on their menu as well. Service was nice but a bit slow since it’s only one person taking orders and making drinks

Definitely a hidden gem in SF Chinatown. They used Equator beans and the latte was delish. Obsessed with their stylish storefront and cute cup!

Tiny coffee Stand in Chinatown. Some interesting Latte flavors but overall great spot.

Awesome! As an Australian I appreciated a coffee that wasn’t just black. Tiger mocha was very good, perfectly balanced tasted like a Jaffa but not too sweet.

It’s a cute spot and they have great beverages. I had their you tiao hot dog which I think was poorly executed coming from a place attached to Mister Jiu’s. The sausage was more of a German sausage and I think it would’ve been better if they did a Chinese sausage and made the you tiao bigger to accommodate the sausage

Yelp
Grant Avenue is more of a tourist corridor in San Francisco's Chinatown. The residents and locals do most of their shopping one street uphill in Stockton, where there is a transit line, or on the hilly intersecting side streets. I was surprised to walk by this cheerful bright stand and find out it is part of Brandon Jew's energetic revitalization of his past childhood haunts - the Mister Jiu's Cookbook on the pastry box gave it away. The menu has a well made latte using the latest Equator collaboration blend - mine was Year Of The Tiger. There are also a selection of cookies, tart or pie slices, and bao treats from the Grand Opening Bakery pop up by Melissa Chou. You can also get a milk tea or coffee/tea drink, and unopened bottles of beer or wine if you prefer. Don't try to walk and consume you treats. Go around the corner to cheerfully decorated Waverly Place and plant yourself in one of the green parklets on front of Mister Jiu's and enjoy your bounty.

Yelp
Soon & Soon is a souvenir shop that sells everything from apparel to stickers to lattes. I ordered their newest menu item-a Black Sesame Oat Milk latte! At a first glance, the top looks like an oil spill and the latte is definitely an acquired taste; they add black sesame concentrate to oat milk to froth and pull an espresso shot. The branding of Soon & Soon is cute, however the pricing feels contradicting to its purpose.

Yelp
New coffee shop from the people behind Mister Jiu's! The double happiness latte, which has quince, ginger, and secret "duck spice" (I think mostly fennel and cinnamon?) was phenomenal and had a great depth of flavor. The buckwheat oat chocolate chip cookie, which was their only food item when I went, was very tasty but a bit salty for my taste. Overall I'll definitely be back though! Pro tip - go around the block and enjoy your coffee in the beautiful Mister Jiu's parklet
