Soon's Bakery Review - Suwanee - Atlanta - The Infatuation

"The Soon’s logo may be hard to spot, so rather look for the "bakery & cafe" sign in this Suwanee strip mall. Though it’s a small space, the bakery has a welcoming bright interior. They are known for their milk bread loaves, and that’s what you should get. The soft and fluffy milk breads have a wide range of varieties, from the blueberry or apple to squid ink-flavored. We also enjoy the sweet potato tapioca bread, which is made to look exactly like a sweet potato on the outside and in. If you’re looking for a more savory option, their sandwiches are all made with fresh milk bread as well. " - Candy Hom

Really cute cafe in Suwanee. The interior is bright, blue and different from others nearby so it’s a nice spot for a day out to enjoy a treat. They also have unique flavors like mugwort peanut cookie if you’re looking to try something new (personally it was not for me, I’ll stick to my cream donuts). Overall had a good time! 🩵

I pre-ordered and got a beautifully decorated, super fresh cake! The whipped cream tasted just like the fresh milk cream I used to enjoy in Korea. The staff were really friendly, and they even gave me some bread on the house. I’ll definitely be getting all my whipped cream cakes from here from now on. The coffee is great too!

Google
Every visit to this bakery has been wonderful! The staff is cheerful, happy to help you and their quality with their food and drinks is lovely. The squid ink bread line they carry is my personal favorite. My partner raves about their Pretty in Pink and Tropical ade drinks, though I personally recommend the Grapefruit Ade. Atmosphere is 4/5 stars simply because the seating area feels unfinished but I can see the aesthetic that they are going for.

Google
This is one of my favorite bakeries to go to. They have a delicious variety of buns, bagels, bread, cookies, and desserts. I haven't had anything I didn't like and I like how they've been experimenting with new items. They are super friendly and the new renovations look nice.

Google
soon’s is my go to spot for studying or meeting up with people! all the pastries are delicious, the drinks are really good (especially the vanilla cream latte), and the staff is so friendly. they make the best bagels in suwanee in my opinion (the everything bagel with scallion cream cheese is kind of life changing). when i say the staff is friendly, i mean it. every single time i’ve gone they offer free samples of a pastry or bread item! i love soons

I hadn’t been to Soon Bakery in a while since it’s kind of far from where I live, but I finally went back recently. It used to be famous for its sweet potato bread and rainbow cake—I had some amazing bread there about a year and a half ago, so I was really looking forward to it. But I heard the owner had changed, and I started to wonder if the taste had changed too. When I got to the cake section, the rainbow cake and some of the other signature cakes were gone. I picked up a few things that used to be their classics, but honestly, they didn’t taste the same. Not bad, just... different. The textures were off. Especially the sweet potato bread—it had way less filling than before, and the chewy rice texture I loved was missing. I get the feeling people are heading over to the nearby Confections bakery not because the bread here is great now, but because that unique “Soon Bakery” feel is kind of gone.

Google
The recently renovated the cafe and it is so much more inviting. The staff is always very kind & helpful, the pastries are the best in the area, and their drinks are delicious. Soon’s is my new go to spot to read, study, chill.

Google
Great food and coffee. Great people. One employee in particular is so sweet. She gives free samples to me and my friends and other customers when they come in. One time, one of my friends was studying for a few hours for medical school exams, and the employee gave this friend some bread because she said “you’re studying so hard”, it was so nice. I love this place SO MUCH. Kindest people ever. Easily one of the best coffee places in Suwanee.

Yelp
One of my family's to go bakery! Went to try their lunch special but feels like the soufflé pancake can improve a bit. Other than that everything tastes amazing! My absolute favorite is their cream donut and cakes! The cream is so soft and smooth like the one in Japan! They got some amazing bread too! Give them a try if can! The owner of the bakery also nice and informative, they have bread tasting and sometimes will give out little treats to each guest!

Yelp
Super cute bakery! I loved the ambiance and service was quick. There are plenty of pastry options to try. I thought the Egg Tarts were alright, but the Strawberry Bing Su was the winner! It had just the right amount of sweetness and a good portion of strawberries.
google avatar

Yelp
What an amazing find! The breads at Soon's is baked fresh in site daily and is absolutely delicious. The doughs have great texture and chew and their creams have so much flavor but are not too sweet. The sausage garlic roll is a must try. The egg tarts came fresh out of the oven and melted in our mouths. To top it off, the space has great ambiance and when we went im, they were a bit slower and took the time to come give my son a small toy which he really loved. Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Found this Asian Bakery in Suwannee that I was very happy about!! @soonsbakery makes EVERYTHING fresh, on location. I believe there were only about 2 items that were pre-made. Damian behind the counter is extremely helpful with helping you choose the right treat so stop by and say hello so you can leave with some delicious baked treats!!! I highly suggest you try their CONDENSED MILK BREAD #rolieats #goodeats #goodfood #suwannee #asianbakery #soonsbakery #freshbakes #iboughteverything

Yelp
Finally got to Soon's after months of trying -- it exceeded my expectations! The service was excellent and the pastries were delightful. The employee at the counter was patient, attentive, and conversational, happy to give us recommendations and get us water when we requested it. It was a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere, and we enjoyed a game of Uno while drinking our bubble tea and eating our cream donuts. The team was even kind enough to bring us out some spares since it was the end of the day! We'll be back very soon!

Yelp
The SMELL when you walk in, it hits you so hard. Delicious, delicious Korean bakery. Pictured is the strawberry cream puff and squid ink bread. I've been back at least 4 times already, and I get a different kind of bread each time. I've tried the pumpkin cream and the apple cream. It's always delicious!

Yelp
The place was nice and a little tucked away in the plaza. I got the hot dog bread which was not bad but also not good. Bread was burnt and hard and flavour was okay. The cream buns looked great but haven't tried it yet. Got the iced caramel macchiato and they had no milk alternatives at all which is odd since many other bakeries would have at least one kind of alternative. So rip to my stomach. Got the drink because I felt bad. Drink was okay caramel taste was light and there was so caramel drizzle which would make it better.

Yelp
Went there after a nice meal to grab some dessert ... there were tiny food flies in the store ... plus the door was open the entire time we were there

Yelp
The positivity I feel towards this gem is overwhelming but I'll try my best to contain it. Soon's stands out from their competitors in a handful of ways. Their offerings focus on half-loaves of novelty or classic bread like squid ink, the savoury stuff (like the egg tart and hamburger bun) are well worth gong back for, and their sandwiches....ummmm their sandwiches!!!! We've tried the egg and potato and chicken sandwiches, and both tasted even better than they looked - fresh while leaf lettuce, tender and chewy bread with just enough sweetness to complement the fillings, and the flavouring of the fillings was just so spot-on. If we lived here we'd probably want to hang in one of the booths every now and then, and maybe we will one day. Until then, long live Soon's.

Yelp
We arrived later in the afternoon and most of the pastries were already gone, except for a handful of items. I'd take that as a good sign! The bakery is bright and clean. They offer plenty of indoor seating and plenty of board games. Based on the labels, they offer a variety of baked goods from macarons and cake to loaves of bread and donuts. They also serve coffee, tea and boba, I believe. I chose three different items. One donut twist, one bread I don't remember the name of and a dalgona candy. The two staff members at check out were pleasant and helpful. They let me know that they replenish the items daily so there would be more of a selection the next morning. I inhaled all three of goodies within ten minutes. The donut had great consistency and although it was covered in sugar, it wasn't overly sweet. The other bread item I got was also delicious. The dalgona was exactly what I thought it would taste. The shapes were fun and were made to look like the ones in the popular Netflix show, Squid Game. I'll be sure to go earlier in the day next time so I can try more items!

Yelp
HANDS DOWN THE BEST KOREAN BAKERY IN THE OTP AREA!!!! I've tried a fair share of Korean bakeries but always felt like they didn't quite meet my expectations. The pastries at other places aren't bad but they usually lack originality and taste factory made. But Soon's bakery is different!! I can tell that their pastries are freshly baked everyday (if you go at the right time, you will be able to see baked goods on sitting on cooling racks). Not only that, they have a good mix of basic pastries like mocha bread and some very creative flavors like squid ink garlic bread and mugwort cookies. And of course they all taste amazing, at least the ones i've tried so far have all been delicious and don't taste overly sweet. The seating area is also clean and spacious, there are multiple seating booths that would be good for studying or just hanging out with friends. I can't wait to regularly come back and try everything!!!! 100/100

Yelp
Would give them 10 stars if I could! Service and quality of bread is consistently phenomenal. Owners are extremely friendly, give out bread whenever they can. Please please try the strawberry donut. I usually can't eat cream breads since the cream is a little too much for me, but I think I could eat a bucket full of this one. The cream has hints of strawberry so it's not too sweet and they did not hold back on the cream-to-bread portion. The bread is another story, so soft and fluffy. All around the best bread I think I've ever had.

Yelp
Smells good when you walk in. The service was great and so was the food! Their Oreo cream donut tasted like a fried Oreo you'd get at a fair
google avatar

SJ L.

Yelp
Although the cake looks beautiful, I can't say the same about the texture and bake of the cake. It's on the drier side. Perhaps their other baked goods are the way to go.

Yelp
Soon's Bakery in Suwanee! Run! Fresh baked goods each morning. No preservatives made with the best quality ingredients. Was greeted by Soon and her husband who told me about about the breads, their process and blessed me with tastings and I left with a box of their best products! Will be back for the custard fill treats! Stay tuned! Run to this bakery!

Yelp
Freshness freshness freshness Stopped at this bakery traveling, while Passing through Atlanta, and heading to SC. I found this small gem, open early (which was a plus ) I ordered a Cappuccino and fresh matcha and a blueberry bread. When I say fresh, she literally just took it out of the oven, in front of me. My car smells like a bakery, still an hour into my drive. Small treat for my girls, but I couldn't resist the temptation of not trying before I got home!!! Both breads are equally delicious Illl def be back!!! Thank you for my making my morning!!
google avatar

Yelp
I tried the blueberry fresh milk cream donut after watching this Atlanta Vlog about must-go-restaurant in K-town. https://youtu.be/I03b9mwdBKU?t=284 The milk cream donut was made with a soft, fluffy, light donut dough, and filled with fresh, fresh milk cream. I loved their red bean paste pastry with a light amount of sweetness. The best in town.
google avatar

Yelp
Absolutely marvelous! The bakery items are fresh and out of this world. The smell when you walk in is pure heaven. Baked bread, baked goods! We sampled a walnut cream chees bread that was fabulous! For lunch we also had something that looked like flat bread with a hamburger patty and another flatbread with sausage pieces. Both were excellent! The nice people there explained that everything is made fresh without preservatives so it has a short shelf life. Please go and support this local business. It was clean inside and the selection of breads and ethnic sweets is worth it!

Yelp
Walk into this spot and you will understand. The toasty comforting aroma, sight of freshly baked goods and a warm welcome. Combination of the three will immediately set you up to a relaxing tone. Get some baked goodies, a drink and have a sit and enjoy. If you have work to do, bring your devices. There is WiFi and electrical outlets. If you want to have a time with friends and family bring them over. There is plenty of seating. If you're solo, even better. Just sit and no need share the seat or the treat. They have an assortment of sweet and savory breads. Try em all, it's all good. However, the loafs are a must. This place is located right next to the Movie Tavern on Lawrenceville Suwanee road. Give this place a shot. Carpe Diem with your taste buds good people.

Yelp
We visited for the first time last weekend and have been talking about going back almost daily since. I had one of their strawberry cream-filled donuts (i cannot remember the official name) and it was DELICIOUS. my husband got a savory pastry with pepperoni and also said it was great. We tried each of their signature coffees and those were incredible too. Even more importantly, the owners were so attentive and kind and clearly passionate about their work and the service they provide. They gave my daughter an extra cookie and sent us home with a free sandwich to try (which they noted they baked the bread for that morning at 3am!). My husband ate it later for lunch and said verbatim that it was "the best sandwich I've ever had." I believe it was a crab salad. They have TONS and tons of selections of pastries, sweets, drinks, sandwiches, everything. We could try something different for probably an entire year before we got through everything on their menu! I am so happy to have discovered this spot close to our home and wish the owners nothing but success. This place is a gem! We will most definitely become regulars, because of the quality of the menu and the kindness of the owners and staff.

Janneicia J.

Yelp
It's in a great location near Movie Tavern in Suwanee. The coffee and iced Madeline's were very good. I will return. The service was excellent and it was a nice cafe to stop and enjoy yourself.

Yelp
We were in town for the weekend and while searching for nearby Korean bakeries, Soon's Bakery popped up. I was intrigued because it wasn't one of the big chains we usually go to, so we decided to check it out at 9:30 am on a Saturday. We were immediately greeted by Damien, one of the owners, and he kindly and patiently showed us around. It is clear he loves his family, his Bakery and his product and I now want to be his best friend! I am not exaggerating when I say we pretty much bought one of everything that was available at 9:30 am, and everything we've tried so far has been a hit! We enjoy more savory foods, so we loved the hamburger bread, the sausage bread, the croque monsieur, and the squid ink garlic bread. That being said, the sweeter breads are still delicious. Everything is so fresh and I think LOVE is definitely the secret ingredient. The egg tart and almond cookies are amazing and remind me of my own childhood. It was a wonderful decision to check out Soon's Bakery and I can't wait to go back!

Brady-Mandy E.

Yelp
Wow! What a pleasant surprise! We were driving around town decided to try this place. AMAZING! I love that they have bingsu in a cup. The perfect sweetness. Love the tea and the bakery item. They even gave us a dessert for free. Amazing service and authentic Korean bakery. Will be coming back for sure!

Usha G.

Yelp
Coffee & cream bun was really good & the staff is very friendly. Love the ambiance. Give it a try!
google avatar

Sabrina K.

Yelp
Super innovative. They are known for their "squid ink" bread which is suppose to be somewhat healthy. They have ALL kinds of bread (mostly regular toast but different flavors). According to my mom, they sell out of the squid ink one so come get them early. The inside is super cute, I think they are going for a Greece/Santorini theme because it's very bright blue. They also have seating and board games!! There's drinks and patbingsoo also. I got the last squid ink garlic baguette ($4.90ish) and it was so yum. I honestly can't tell the difference between regular bread and squid ink bread but it looks cool and it's something different compared to the million Korean bakeries around Gwinnett area. Biggest star goes to service as the owner? lady is super nice and wants to answer all questions. I am all about service as it really is better than the normal curt service you usually get from most Korean joints. Highly recommend visiting

Katrina D.

Yelp
Thankful to have this bakery in this area. I bought a birthday cake from here and it was very good! We loved the frosting.
google avatar

Ryan C.

Yelp
Not a fan of Korean bread and bakery stuff as they are always overly sweet and guarantee diabetes. One day the wife brought home their fresh-baked, piping hot-off-the oven loaf with peach jam and another with sweet potato filling (that I am not a fan of), I had to give them the acknowledgment that they know what is up. Covered in nice, subtle sweet coating with good doughing, they made me into a regular. Keep it up!
google avatar

Sarah M.

Yelp
Stopped in here yesterday for the first time and took home a variety of items to try. Damien, the owner, came out of the kitchen to talk to us and explain some of their more popular treats. We tried the garlic baguette (sweet bread with savory garlic - YUM), the peach loaf bread, strawberry & matcha & blueberry cream filled donuts, the potato & egg sandwich, and my kids had some of their breakfast pastries (ham & cheese roll, hamburger & cheese, and sausage roll). Everything was delicious and the staff there are the nicest people. We will return very soon (yes, pun intended!)!!

Bekki S.

Yelp
The BEST Bakery I've ever had the pleasure to visit! Mouth watering pastries, delicious breads, and cakes. Yumminess throughout the store!!! I will drive back to Lawrenceville just to go to Soon's Bakery!
google avatar

Livie G.

Yelp
Very nice place! The guy who helped us was very nice and very friendly! Very good pastries and reasonably priced drinks and teas! :) it reminds me of Sweet Hut but smaller :)
google avatar

Kathleen P.

Yelp
It was a very cute looking bakery with a large variety of bread, welcoming workers, and spacious seating area. I tried the squid ink bread and blueberry ade and they were both good. The blueberryade had actual blueberries and lemon in it which was nice. I wanna come back here to try there other bread, too.

Louis B.

Yelp
High quality bakery. We got a strawberry cream cake, the cake and cream were good sweetness. The cake was not as spongy as the cakes from other asian bakeries, the texture was in between an American sponge cake and one from the Asian bakeries. A little far out of the way but worth it.
google avatar

Olivia K.

Yelp
Wow! I came across this newly opened Korean bakery after I heard their specialty was (bread loaf/toast), which I thought was very unique! I have nothing but good things to say about this spot -- the owner was super friendly and informative, she really wanted to share about the breads and what makes them special:) I ended up buying their chestnut loaf and injeolmi loaf, and they were super soft and light -- also loved the amount of filling topping in their bread. I also sent the chestnut and apple loaf to my bf's and their family loved it too! Definitely recommend!
google avatar

Sherry L.

Yelp
The bakery (sweet and savory ones), cafe drinks, and the service is all wonderful! My favorites are the savory bakery items. One has bacon and the other is like a Croque-Madame. I recently found a sweet loaf with light frosting. I call it the donut loaf. They have a good range of drink types - iced/hot coffees, boba teas, and refresher drinks. My favorite is how nice the staff and owners are. We always enjoy taking the kiddos and they call out the bakery by name now.
google avatar

Yen N.

Yelp
I've been coming here a handful of times now, and they are consistently great! Their bake goods are high quality and delicious. The service is awesome and the people are informative and sweet. My personal favorite is the squid ink garlic bread and walnut cream cheese bread.
google avatar

Lisa E.

Yelp
We just discovered Soon's bakery a few weeks ago. Their cream filled donuts are wonderful! Really awesome and super fresh breads as well. My favorite item is the mocha bun. It looks simple but there is a surprise in the center.
google avatar

Lulu L.

Yelp
Always a lovely experience! The service is courteous, attentive and thoughtful. The breads are delectable. We especially love the matcha cream, cinnamon and chocolate breads. We also love the chocolate chip cookies and the almond cookies. But the cakes! The cakes are so delicious and also beautiful. The sponge is tender and the whipped crean frosting is fantastic. We have gotten two birthday cakes from here and everyone was raving about the delicious cakes. Get a cake!

Y D.

Yelp
We love this place and always stop in before we go to the movie theatre next door. They have tasty treats and drinks. The bingsu is so good and the customer service is great. Definitely recommend.

Bruse M.

Yelp
very good Bingsu I love their fresh bread always welcoming from the owner. Everyday I go I am getting ice coffee. I love their sandwiches too.

Martha H.

Yelp
We have enjoyed several cakes for birthdays and holidays from Soon's. Light, fresh and tasty. Our favorite is the strawberry cake.
google avatar

Tyler S.

Yelp
The bread is outstanding and fresh - the cinnamon bread especially is fantastic! It's soft in the middle with a crispy crust, and the bottom of the loaf where the cinnamon-sugar is caramelized is to die for! The staff is friendly and it's apparent that they take a lot of pride in what they make, and the interior is clean and bright. Must visit!!
google avatar

Mary N.

Yelp
It's super cute and they are very kind. The bread's offered are different but very delicious. I love it here! They also have SO MUCH space if you need to study and get work done. Definitely will support a neighborhood business such as this.

Mackenzie E.

Yelp
The atmosphere is nice and the baked goods are delicious! What really stuck out to us was how NICE the people are! We certainly loved coming here and we plan to visit again.

Mel W.

Yelp
Had stopped in to grab a few items at a new bakery in Suwanee. Cute decor. All the bakery items were delicious. Had the peach bread which my kids loved. Squid ink garlic bread was new for us and it was delicious. Egg potato sandwich was very good. A little too mustardy for me but it was very filling and satisfying. Will definitely be back to try some of their other items and drinks.
google avatar

Camerin R.

Yelp
Nothing but great experiences homey place ! Very, very friendly and great pastries and Thai tea! Will definitely be tell all my friends to try this place out !
google avatar

Matthew A.

Yelp
Great milk teas. Lovely spot with a good selection of breads. Good option for Korean speakers and English speakers alike.
google avatar

Imran D.

Yelp
Everything we've got from here has been delicious! The baker/owner spent 15 minutes explaining the variety of breads they plan to offer and what his vision for the place is. They are still in a soft launch phase. They plan to offer cakes too. We have tried their mugwort, croque monsieur, hotel bread and walnut cream cheese. Their morning batch of baking gets fully stocked by 10ish. We've requested for a few vegetarian options in the sandwiches. They also have a day-old section that's marked down by 40%. We will be returning frequently!
