What a great dinner!!! The Pueblo taco with shredded beef was a real winner. The combination plate was delicious and the chiles rellenos we crispy We enjoyed our Sopaipillas with real honey are outstanding. Our waiter was friendly and had a great sense of humor. We loved it!!

Google
The salad was spicier than anticipated for my wife. I had the flautas and I was not impressed, plus I did not like that you could not customize the sides that came with them. It took quite awhile for the food to arrive. There were two of us and the server only gave us one of the puffy deep fried bread. Everyone around us got a full basket of them.

Decided to try this place on our way home. I would say this place ranks closer to a 4.5 than a 4 but I cannot give it a 5 star rating. The food was good and the service was amazing. The Red Chili was the star of the show. We both got stuffed Sopaipilla and both were tasty, I got shredded Beef and my wife got Chicken. We also both got Michelada and were also really good. We will try this place again.

Hello Hello

Google
The sopaipillas are like a crackers dry not good at all the pueblo taco was just okay the red chili was like water the taco salad was the best of everything we ordered. I have to say the food would not be memorable overly priced and we probably would not return.

Google
Decided to give Sopaipilla Factory Restaurant a try after reading their reviews while stopping by this area while road traveling. Exceptional service - food is pretty decent. The margarita was on point 💯 We ordered Chicken Quesadilla ( which is basically shredded boiled chicken with cheese ) What makes it appetizing is their red and green chile. Chicken and beef fajita was good too. Sooaipilla with honey butter was nice 👍🏻

Google
Best of the best 👏👏👏💪 Incredible Green Chili Stew and we have never tasted better Sopapilla! Tender and tasty with real honey! We are from Australia and are over the moon we found this joint. Filled with locals you know it’s the real deal! Thank you to Candice for an excellent service!

Google
Consistently excellent customer service and great food. I love everything about this place! I haven't had loaded nachos in ten years due to a corn allergy. They made me killer nacho fries off menu. I would give a ten if I could.

Google
This restaurant was in walking distance of our hotel. The staff was friendly and service was prompt! Our food was delivered hot and delicious! I had the shredded beef stuffed sopapilla and my spouse had the hamburger and fries. Portion sizes are generous!

Yelp
Plenty of parking available, the lot is level with plenty of handicap spots. They were busy, we were greeted and sat immediately. The stage is pleasant and cheery. We sat for maybe 5 minutes when our waiter came to our tablet, took our drink order. He came back with our drinks and took our food order. 8 minutes wait and our food was brought to our table, two stuffed sopaillas, and two additional dessert sopapillas. The food was as we ordered, my husband had a stuffed sopapilla, beef and bean with green chile. I had a stuffed sopapilla with refried beans and green chile. Tasted like home made to us. The sopapillas are fresh, great size and so tasty. The Chile was not too hot, had a good flavor. We drank iced tea it was fresh brewed. They offer 9 vegetarian entrees. The price is fair, the portions are great, you won't go away hungry. If your hungry and want to leave full, this is the place to eat.

Yelp
Came in on a Thursday night for carne asada. Was not overly impressed. Turns out to be strips of beef laid on top of tortillas, as if they were meant for tacos. And although they refer to their beef as only the best quality, it really didn't taste that great. Almost had a liver taste to it. On the plus side, it did come with a side of hot sauce that killed the flavor of the meat and made it a bit better. Daughter got a chicken quesadilla, which was huge and packed full with cheese and meat. We had two margaritas, that were okay, but not great. The house made chips were excellent, salsa was just so-so. Also tried the signature sopaipilla. Now that was interesting and good, especially with their honey butter. Our server was friendly and reasonably fast. Could have had a second margarita, but never got the chance. The ambiance looks like this place used to be a Denny's. They do have some nice decorations inside that make it homey.

Yelp
Came here for dinner twice during our visit to Santa Fe. It has a diner vibe with large sections on the menu. Breakfast served all day and every thing Sopaipilla . If you're not familiar with sopaipilla, it's like beignet or fried bread... that sorta thing. Don't get bent out of shape if you don't like my explanation of Sopaipilla. Anyway, we never had to wait for a table and service was good. We had steak salad, chicken salad, menudo, tacos and their special dessert Sopaipilla with ice cream, strawberry and whipped cream, yum! That was the reason for coming back the 2nd time.

C G.

Yelp
I personally didn't care for my sopapilla or the salsa, I found both to be very bland and the chicken tasted watery to me. The salsa tasted more of tomatoes than anything else, I probably would not go back to this restaurant. The atmosphere was nice and the service was great, I can't complain there.

Robin M.

Yelp
Good food. Many vegetarian options. Tasty chile. Well managed. Quick service. There is an outdoor dining area.

Lisa N.

Yelp
Friends were craving Sopiaipilla and we thought this was an actual factory, but it was a restaurant. The staff was friendly. We were able to enjoy some desserts for the kids. Their favorite was the sopaipilla with the cinnamon sugar.

Roger P.

Yelp
Food here is pretty good but for me, it's all about their desserts and the Bloody Mary. Bloody Mary is nice and spicy. Fried rice cream and ice cream stuffed Sopapilla are amazing. Good place to stop on your way between Española and Santa Fe.

Robert C.

Yelp
Would you drive 30 miles round trip just for stuffed sopaipilla? Place is listed as in Santa Fe , but is actually 15 miles out of in Pojoaque , in the boon docks, halfway to Los Alamos. In a shopping center, with plenty of parking, lots of windows, clean and open ambiance restaurant. Meeting a friend of my wife when she worked in Los Alamos 18 years. We each ordered the $13.75 stuffed sopaipilla, while friend ordered beef enchilada. Service is on the leisurely side. The stuffed sopaipilla was filled with chicken, rice and vegetables. Looked like a square enchilada 5" square. Combination went well together, especially when adding green chile to give it more spice. Ate it with a knife and fork as the sopaipilla was covered with a layer of melted cheese, and chile sauce. Dish came with a very small salad and cornbread. Friend's $13.75 enchilada dish came with two beef enchiladas, Mexican rice small salad of tomatoes, and pinto beans. Wife and I ate everything on our plates, but friend, lifetime New Mexico resident, still hasn't gotten used to pinto beans, leaving most of it. Dessert was fluffy sopaipilla with butter and honey. Loved the dough but not what it did for my waistline.

Jennifer H.

Yelp
I ordered stuffed sopapillas with beef and red and green chile and combo with chile relleno and enchilada with red sauce. Food was solid! Also enjoyed a side of sopapillas with honey butter. They were delicious, fluffy and light! It's more of a casual establishment, but I would definitely come here if I'm in the area in the future.

Mike B.

Yelp
I've been coming to New Mexico all my life... Nearly 50 years and this place was a huge disappointment! We ordered stuffed sopapilla "Christmas style" and I have to tell you they did not use New Mexico chilies. In fact, the red tasted like tomato sauce and the green had no flavor. Visit El parasol instead, which is just a few doors down much better quality and taste like New Mexico. They have the best breakfast burritos you've ever tasted!

Amadeo D.

Yelp
Sopaipillas come with every entree. Puffy and soft and just a little bit salty. Delicious with some honey on top. The big combo plate was full of winners. Comes with a Chile Relleno (spicy, gooey and crispy all at once), a tamale (exceptional flavor and texture with a good heat), and a cheese enchilada (delicious blend of cheese and Chile). The pinto beans on the side were full of flavor. The rice was soft and moist. The Pueblo Taco was a delicious balance of flavor and textures. The chips and salsa were pretty good. The salsa was not spicy, but had large chunks of tomato and onion. Decor is family friendly and casual. Service was a bit rough when we went but they were short staffed so I won't hold it against them.

Daniel H.

Yelp
The service was slow. The salsa was not hot at all and not much flavor.( it tasted like store bought salsa from a jar). I overheard a customer also complain about the food. The green chile was good.

Sky G.

Yelp
The fluffy, crispy sopaipilla did not disappoint. Plain, with butter, honey, sugar, or cinnamon... All are warm & uplifting!!

Jon S.

Yelp
The food was very good and the staff were very nice, accommodating our large party (4 adults and 6 kids).

Frances R.

Yelp
We had awful service. The server disappeared for a long time and took forever to refill our waters. The food was BLAND. The meat and beans had no flavor whatsoever. The sopapillas were not great either. The server never checked on us or brought us the check. The only reason I gave two stars instead of one is the one lady who bussed the tables. She noticed we were sitting waiting for our server so she brought us the check so we could pay and leave.

Victoria M.

Yelp
Stopped in for what else? A Sopaipilla at the "Sopaipilla Factory." I ordered a stuffed shredded beef Sopaipilla with green chili (beef was very, very dry) should have stuck with ground beef with chili. My man ordered a breakfast burrito Christmas style, he said it was good but should have stuck with all green chili instead, and a side chili relleno, very bready and very little cheese. I don't get the rice in any restaurant here in New Mexico, this one as well. It seems like they steam it and put red tomato sauce on it, its always clumpy and soggy with tomato sauce, NEVER fluffy, YUCK!!. The best part of the meal was the plain sopaipillas with honey. Atmosphere was good, very busy on a Monday morning, service was great, food just ok. Had to try it while here in Santa fe.

Dennis S.

Yelp
Definitely a find! It's a hole-in-the-wall place with authentic Mexican/New Mexican food. The chili relleno was outstanding, the chicken enchilada could have had a better balance in the placement of the chicken, but it was great too! The guacamole was one of the best I've ever had. Don't look for tourists here unless you're looking in the mirror. And don't be surprised by the innocuous interior. Inexpensive, a bargain at twice the price!

Harimander K.

Yelp
This restaurant has been our go to for sit down New Mexican food for many years. They have a great vegetarian menu section and have always been very friendly.

Elena C.

Yelp
Had lunch today at this wonderful treasure, the food is great, the atmosphere (we sat outside) was relaxing and quiet. The service was a lot of newbies that were doing a great job and will be excellent once they have some experience under their belts. The manager was aware that is going on, so no worries. The food is the attraction here and well worth any wait in the land of relaxation. I cannot wait to go back and try other dishes.

Linda S.

Yelp
Service was good. I ordered the chili relleno. They were hard to cut through. But the cheese was very tasty. I'm not sure how the batter is made but I like it fluffy.

Jon P.

Yelp
I am in Albuquerque visiting my wife's family. I've been here twice before. We started the day at Meow Wolf and this was the stop after it. We also had the green chile and cheese fries, along with guacamole. As always, I overate and it was magnificent. The sopas are light and airy. I wish I knew the recipe so I could make them. As we left for our next stop I mentioned to my mother in law that I was glad I didn't live near here. Truly I would be here two to three times a week

Kim B.

Yelp
Bland. Nothing special food. Service was fine. Nothing special about this place. I would go somewhere different next time.

Alejandra C.

Yelp
Very cute and kind of kitschy ambience, I loved it. Shoutout to Nery and Julian for the nice service :) Food was yummy (especially dessert) and definitely worth the trip to Pojoaque!

Gim T.

Yelp
Great food. We thought their enchiladas n stuffed Sopaipilla were really good. Prices were reasonable. Good parking. Friendly n helpful staffs.

Lester S.

Yelp
Lunch with my family while passing through. Sopaipillas were the largest I've ever seen. However they were served at the beginning of the meal. So by the time we got around to eating them, they were cold and tough. My wife ordered cheese and onion enchiladas with red sauce. The sauce looked like watered down ketchup or tomato sauce. Either way it was nasty and tasted worse. Needless to say, she took one bite and no more. When we asked for the bill, the server (Cynthia) asked if she wasn't satisfied with the meal. My wife said it tasted terrible. Her answer was I'm sorry. And here's your bill. Any reputable restaurant I've ever been in. The server would have gotten a manager and removed it from the bill, as it was basically untouched. Needless to say, we won't be back and wouldn't recommend it to anyone passing through. I'm sure you can find better!

Sue G.

Yelp
I had chili relleno plate and it was really good, the sopaipilla served with it was fantastic, so soft and fluffy and flavorful. Service was good and the ambience in the restaurant fine

Mitchie B.

Yelp
We drive through Poquaque often. Had no idea this hidden gem existed! Good Friday and made the stop on the way home. The place was filled with locals and very busy. We ordered right away as our waitress mentioned a large group had just come in. Cheese enchiladas for me, tacos for my son and tacos for my husband. Food was brought out quickly and ready to eat. The chili had just enough heat! Our meals were perfect and the servings were just right. After our meal, we each had a sopapilla with honey butter. Nice end to a meal!

Monica V.

Yelp
We ordered takeout, but will definitely be dining in next time since they are open with socially distanced tables. I think the food would've been more delicious if we had eaten it fresh, but it was still really good. I've never had a sopaipilla before, so it's been on my bucket list after living in New Mexico for several months. A Sopaipilla is like a beignet and is fried if you've never had one before. They serve it with honey butter and honey - so good! I also couldn't decide on my entree, so I got The Big Combo. This came with a chile relleno, pork tamale, cheese enchilada with green and red chili and rice and beans. I also tried some of the burger which had a nice sized charbroiled patty. Everything here was really good and I can't wait to try more stuff!

James V.

Yelp
Ok, well this had came across our radar ever since we have been in town, little did we know that it was only half a mile up from our Hotel, Cities of Gold. We stopped in after a day in Albuquerque as we did not want to fight the wait in the city. Small joint probably seats less than 50 or just about that. Pretty popular place though as I seem to notice alot of hugs when ppl were leaving. This place is not fancy but not a dive either. Somewhat of a small menu but something for everyone. I had the Carna adovado which I never get, but I did not want to pay $30 for a 10 oz. steak. We had ordered a sampler plate whicho came after our entrees arrived so they went ahead and comped them and gave them to us anyway pretty decent quesadilla and flautas on the sampler plate. They do not roll thier enchiladas but stack them which I think is really a NM thing. My wife asked the waiter if my meal came with tortillas and he stated that the sopaipilla took the place of the tortillas. All though I didn't use it as such I saved it for my dessert. Each entree comes with a sopaipilla as to do with what you will. As far as would I recommend sure. It's a little out of the roughly about 15 minutes out of Sante Fe but on your way to Espanola or Taos.

Brittani M.

Yelp
Omg the sopapilla butter!! So smooth and airy the seasonal portobello salad was great, even with bleu cheese which I asked for on the side but the person taking my order didn't understand me. But very friendly and out quick.

John T.

Yelp
The restaurant is OK, but I've been stopped by tribal cops arbitrarily in the parking lot for no reason and I recommend that people not from the area not stop here because interacting with law-enforcement here is upsetting and again they will stop you for virtually any reason and hassle you endlessly steer clear not a good place to stop!!!

Amy S.

Yelp
This review is based solely on the Sopaipilla! We got three regular ones, and two cinnamon sugar ones. Both were soooooooo good. Love putting the butter and honey on the regular ones. Really great price, too.

Blu M.

Yelp
In Colorado, the only place we know of good Sopaipilla is where the worst Mexican food is, which is Casa Bonita. Anyways, I wanted to go and try this restaurant because they're specifically known for their Sopaipilla and based on the reviews it looked delicious. The waitstaff were very friendly and helpful with the menu. I chose to get the carne asada and it comes with a side of Sopaipilla. The carne asada was reasonably priced, the meat was tender and flavorful, very enjoyable to eat. They have honey on the table to drizzle the Sopaipilla in. The Sopaipilla was hot and fresh and probably the best one I've ever tried. I also got the dessert version that was sprinkled in cinnamon and sugar, with a side of sweet butter! Such a treat. If you're visiting the Santa Fe area, I would highly recommend trying this place out.

Renae K.

Yelp
This is a hidden gem on the side of a highway between Sonics and other Sonics. My husband and I sat down after hiking and had a heavenly meal with excellent service in 25 mins. Get the jumbo combo platter w the tamale, enchilada, and Chile relleno and don't feel bad about gobbling it all up. WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW.

Steven O.

Yelp
Don't know how I've missed this spot over the years but found it this trip (through Pojoaque) and won't ever forget them. Seriously near perfection for (northern) NM food....chile (normally don't but was happy I got Christmas) was spot on, had simple cheese enchilada and bean/beef burrito...both perfect. Got a lime (not a lemon) with my iced tea like I always ask for...even the pintos and Spanish rice were totally amazing (I normally take a bite or two and leave the rest) and yes the sopa after was delish too. Don't miss this spot....they GET NM food yo.

Gordon S.

Yelp
Awesome food. Had huevos rancheros very good. Love the sopapillas are fantastic. For the qualities of food is very affordable. Breakfast burritos, huge, with green chili and lots of cheese.

Maithili S.

Yelp
Sopapillas here are amazing! Chille relleno and stuffed sopapillas were bomb. The waitress was very sweet.

Patience B.

Yelp
Great service and good! This place was PACKED and the team helped our group of 11 get seated because we had called in advance.

Shwetha B.

Yelp
Wow! SO many vegetarian options! I had such a hard time deciding on what I wanted. We finally decided on vegetarian combo and tofu fajitas. The combo comes with a chilli relleno, tamale and blue corn enchilada smothered with red and green chile. Their rice, beans, red and green chili are all vegetarian. The chilli relleno was fantastic. The crust, filling and the green chile it was smothered with were all so tasty. Their red Chile tastes wonderful too. The fajitas were also great. Oh let me not forget the sopapillas, SO good with the sweetened butter! Service was very good. They were busy but our waitress was friendly and attentive and the food was out pretty quick. How I wish I could keep going back!

Stan H.

Yelp
On our way from Taos back to Santa Fe, we had a chance to sample the Sopaipilla Factory. The margaritas were great although somewhat expensive. Chips and salsa and Chile Riano's were on the menu. And everywhere we go we sample the Riano! We have yet to find a betterRiano than our local Ricos! This restaurant is traditional yet the scene next-door was very much worth the luck!

Ashley Q.

Yelp
Very good food and the best sopaipillas both stuffed with shredded beef and the cinnamon sugar ones!

Vaughn F.

Yelp
Recently spent time near Pojoaque and made a couple trips to Sopaipilla Factory with my girlfriend for lunch. This restaurant serves a range of traditional New Mexican dishes, along with salads and a dedicated vegetarian menu. On our first visit, we sat at a booth and shared an order of green chile chicken enchiladas, fried egg on top, and a side chile relleno. Everything was delicious, and we left smiling. We came back today, a little bit hungrier. She ordered the rellenos plate, which comes with two smothered rellenos, refried beans, and rice. I chose green chile enchiladas again, this time with cheese inside. Once more, I requested an over-medium fried egg on top. Our food arrived quickly, which seemed great, until my girlfriend started eating her rellenos. They were undercooked and doughy, like they could have used a couple more minutes in the deep fryer. We scraped off the batter and made the most of it. Shame, since the relleno last week was crispy and delicious! (We would've told our waiter but he was off the clock eating a shift meal; a different waiter didn't check on us until long, long after we finished, and only to drop off the bill.) A couple other small but important things: we asked for our sopaipillas to arrive at the end of the meal, the waiter nodded and said okay, but the sopaipillas came out with our entrees anyway. We also asked for extra lettuce/tomato garnish and never got it. Still, the enchiladas were good, and I liked the rice and the whole beans that came with them. My experience today was not at the usual standards, and that's a little disappointing, but this is still one of the best places to eat in Pojoaque.

Banjo U.

Yelp
The parking is easy. The food is excellent, especially Sopaipilla, even with butter or cinnamon sugar. The Carne asada that I ordered was also delicious, with soft and tender meat; the portion of the food was reasonable, as well as the price. I highly recommend this place.

Michaelene K.

Yelp
I have heard good things about Sopapilla Factory so was excited to try it. And I was disappointed. I went with a friend who ordered chile rellenos, and they were spicy and delicious. I ordered the carne adovada and the red chile was very mild, flavorless, and weak in every way. The pork was cubed and cooked but not at all tender, it wasn't simmered in the chile. It was like eating cubes of pork chop in chile. So not bad but not recommended. I would go back only if meeting in Pojoaque was the only option but I'd still struggle not to go to El Parasol or one of the food carts. The service was friendly and the outside was lovely. It was great to be able to park and see the car and truck to be sure things were safe (my friend was moving things in a trailer). If I go back I'd try something with green chile, but never again red.

JemuelnleAnne M.

Yelp
I love this place. Th flautas are amazing. The honey butter for the sopaipillas is great! The wait was long but always tasty and a family favorite. During Covid the lines has been long.

A E.

Yelp
Not a single tourist inside. That's how you know (follow the locals) Fresh ingredients and delicious concoctions. Will def eat here the next time I'm in the area.

Jordan O.

Yelp
Wonderful lunch here with great service for an insanely cheap price (to us at least). The sopaipillas were awesome, the sauces were great, and for 3 of us to eat fully, with dessert and leftovers being under $40...wow. Even the chicken which normally I don't like if it's not grilled, was delicious. Would highly recommend this place!

Mala C.

Yelp
The soup was delicious and GF. A great side of the road restaurant on the road to Espanola from Santa Fe. They had amazing GF options, unfortunately the sopaipilla was NOT gluten free.

Holly M.

Yelp
Good food and service. Portions were generous and flavors were great. Would recommend. The kids liked their meals, as well. Good sopapillas.
