"Sophia’s, an Italian supper club, has closed and is being redeveloped into a new restaurant and bar called Devil May Care. The restaurant, described as a 'sexy Italian-American supper club,' opened in July 2016 and was owned by BDG Hospitality. It took over from Bess Bistro, which was partially owned by actress Sandra Bullock." - Erin Russell

Wow the lobster bucatini was crazy good! Pricey but their food is done very well. Their bread rolls were also some of the best we'd ever had. The lighting is minimal so be prepared for an intimate meal and ask for a few extra candles! Ha!

Lots of great food options. We were here with a big party and I liked almost everythibg I tasted. The Brussel sprouts are amazing and the chicken is the best I've ever had. I had the bolognese, which is good and has a little kick. The prices are a little high for the portion sizes, but not terrible. I think the small plates offer the most bang for your buck.

I used to come to this place under a different name (Bess) and finally got around to heading over here for a dinner. I went with a Meatball, wondering if that might be enough. It was, and it was delicious. I’d forgotten how good they can be! Great service and cozy atmosphere. Not certain on parking as I live downtown and could just walk over. It’s easily seen driving west on W 6th St and right next to a nearby wine place and Little Woodrow’s.

This place has a beautiful terrace. AND everyone needs to try a Trenta cocktail🍸. Perfect way to beat the heat. Happy Hour prices are sweet too. Skip traffic in style.

Great pasta and service. I really like the shrimp pasta I had. It was simple but had a great kick from the spiced olive oil it was cooked in. I will definitely be back in again.

No words can describe what an amazing meal we had at this restaurant. To begin our evening we had Chase as our bartender as we hung out for a while. He helped us select a great Italian wine to start the evening right. When we were ready we were seated and promptly met by Floyd our server. He had several suggestions and was extremely helpful. We had the bread...which was probably the best I’ve ever had and I have traveled the world. We also had the meatball and lasagna. I have to say the meatball was outstanding. Highly recommend all of the above. The manager Eric was the best! He came over several times to make sure we were happy with our meal and service. I’m telling you this is a great restaurant and the service was extraordinary!!

Sophia's served the best meal I have had this year. We all had something different and all of it was wonderful. I had the pork chops and veal meatballs. It was the best pork chop I've had at any restaurant, including any previous specialty steak house I've been too. The service was great and they had a great cocktail menu. Austin has a lot of fantastic restaurants and this one is a must visit. I will definitely be returning to try some of the other menu options.

My husband and I used to enjoy eating here, but last night was a rude experience. We normally like to "dine", no rush, we start with cocktails then order a bottle of wine and appetizers, after eating appetizers we order our entree. Last evening when we ordered wine, the waiter informed us "the chef demands you order everything at the same time". and he refused to just let us order just the appetizers. After arguing with him I asked to speak to the manager who was at the front desk. They must have discussed it a while and finally the manager came over repeated what the waiter said, but finally said he spoke to the chef and explained to him we were not going to order everything at once. I have never, ever had a restaurant demand how I order, that was just crazy and rude. The chef does not own the restaurant, a restaurant group from Chicago owns it. This experience really ruined dinner for me. The food was still delicious though, but I don't want to go back and spend $280 and have to argue again or be told what I have to do. RUDE!!
