Casual restaurant serving authentic Cambodian food such as beef skewers and sour flower salad.
"Sophie’s Kitchen is a go-to for specific types. Type one is The Wing Hunter: someone who knows an order of crackly, sweet chili-glazed wings can make a bad day great. Type two is The Lingerer: the neighborhood folks who take up half of the tiny dining room and add orders of chicken sour soup and shaking beef as the night goes on (don't worry—there's a larger room upstairs). And type three are The Lovers: couples on low key dates that longingly stare at a plate of curry chicken and, occasionally, at each other. Whatever type you are, Sophie’s has the herby papaya salad, bubbling noodles soups, and lemongrass lacquered meat for you. photo credit: NICOLE GUGLIELMO photo credit: NICOLE GUGLIELMO photo credit: NICOLE GUGLIELMO photo credit: NICOLE GUGLIELMO photo credit: NICOLE GUGLIELMO" - Candis R. "South Philly’s Sophie’s Kitchen might have the crunchiest options on this guide. The Cambodian spot serves jumbo wings that stay impressively juicy even though they have such crackly skin. And you should douse and dunk them in any of their sauces, like sweet chili sauce, lemongrass, or curry dips." - candis mclean
"Formerly the family-owned restaurant Khmer Kitchen, chef and owner Sophia Neth opened Sophie’s Kitchen in 2020 with the same zeal and determination as her parents’ original restaurant. Here, the menu showcases a mix of traditional and modern Cambodian dishes, ranging from sticky tangy tamarind wings and lemongrass beef skewers to cha la prov (a chicken and pumpkin stir-fry) and cha kreoung samout (a seafood-based green curry)." - George Banks-Weston
"Sophie’s Kitchen on Washington Avenue serves Cambodian-style wings with a sweet chili sauce, lemongrass, and curry. This BYOB comes from the same family that ran South Philly’s popular but now closed Khmer Kitchen." - Ernest Owens, Eater Staff
"Try nom bunch-jok, a homey Khmer green curry noodle dish, at Sophie’s Kitchen in Little Saigon." - Diana Lu
