Found this place very pricey... given the very slow service, level of noise, and quality of food. We were there at lunchtime, and it was LOUD. Had to yell to hear each other over the racket. Staff were friendly overall, so this was good.. but service was really slow. Tables were sticky, which was kind of gross, but if you're not looking too close, the decor is nice enough. Portions were fine.. for the price, they could have either been more generous or of better quality. Unsure why we needed such massive plates for what was served - I guess to fit the gravy boat on? Best thing I had was the pate. Other folks also had roasts/ribs which were overall fine, but no one was blown away by the food given the pricetag. Have had better lunches in gastro pubs with better quality, portion sizing, or pricing.. not sure I'd recommend this place.

Really really good experience at Sophie’s in May 2025. Service was a team based approach. Many folks ensured we had a wonderful dining experience. Brisket croquettes were delicious. Grilled salad also top notch. Steaks don’t forget about the steaks… cooked to perfection. Oh… and the fries. Fantastic peppercorn sauce. Drinks at the bar and table service were consistent and delicious. Martinis were huge! 12/10 would recommend anyone looking for a steak to venture here for an evening out.

Sophie’s Soho is the kind of place that pulls you in with its effortless charm and keeps you there with its seriously good everything. We originally popped in for “just a drink,” but the vibe was so on point we ended up staying the whole night—and eating way more steak than we planned (zero regrets). The cocktails were incredible—each one beautifully balanced, creative, and served with a confident flair that makes you feel like you’re in the hands of true pros. But let’s talk about the steak: juicy, flavorful, perfectly cooked, and somehow even better with every bite. We kept saying, “Okay, that’s the last piece,” and then another round would land on the table. It was that good. The space itself feels like a perfect Soho hideaway—low lighting, buzzing atmosphere, just the right amount of edge. And the staff? Warm, attentive, and clearly loving what they do. It all just clicks. Sophie’s isn’t just a bar or a steakhouse—it’s an experience. A little indulgent, a little wild, and absolutely worth it. Already dreaming about round two.

Fantastic experience, particularly thanks to Nora! I did some research into some of the best Sunday roasts and this was one I saw pop up a bit so being in central London I thought I’d give it a try. I sat in the restaurant by the fire pit which smelt fantastic, and was served by Nora. She was incredibly bubbly, gave a good energy and was particularly polite and charismatic. She offered some recommendations and I went with the smoked brisket croquettes and the lamb shoulder Sunday roast. The croquettes, as recommended, were great. They had a subtle smokiness, with notes of pepper and some mild spices for warmth, and the tenderness of the brisket complimented the light coating and aioli beautifully! I was unsure how the sauerkraut would pair but it was light and worked well. The Sunday roast was also so so good, the lamb was oozing with flavour from the rosemary and the light gravy worked really well together. The whole plate didn’t look overwhelming, in fact I was initially thinking it wouldn’t be enough, but without a doubt it’s deceptive and I was happily full by the end. I wasn’t sure what Sophie’s was going to be like, centre of London and whether it might be a tourist trap, but actually it’s earned its place and the service was fast and Nora in particular deserves some recognition for her service; I’d very happily return!

Food was delicious! The salad, drinks, and dessert was to die for. The sides was delicious. The steak was a bit lacking and not cooked as much as desired. However, overall delicious meal. Wonderful service and would recommend to friends!

I had the pleasure of dining at Sophie Restaurant in Soho, and it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting. The highlight of the meal was an absolutely amazing piece of meat, cooked to perfection, accompanied by delicious potatoes and flavorful salsas that added the perfect touch to the dish. What made the experience even better was the exceptional service. Rossany, John, and Javier were truly outstanding – they made us feel like we were the only guests in the restaurant. Their attention to detail and genuine care made the evening even more special. Overall, Sophie Restaurant offers not just fantastic food, but also an incredible team that makes every meal feel personal and memorable. Highly recommend!

Very lovely vibe, feels classy but chilled at the same time. The theatre menu is super worth for value - a 2 course for £19 and 3 course for £23! The grilled vegetable soup was delicious and the steak was cooked nicely too! Staff were all super friendly!

Google
Wicked evening out and we enjoyed everything so much. The service was very good in a busy atmosphere. The steak was perfect and all side items matched up. Great drinks and wine list. Very busy spot so reserve ahead.

Yelp
We got the large porterhouse steak to share along with mashed potatoes, spinach, and truffle Mac. Everything was delicious and drinks were great!

Yelp
4.5 Stars Incredible quality food and top notch service in a chic SOHO atmosphere. This place was really, really good. Our server was very knowledgeable and attentive. Our food and drinks arrived promptly. We got the 40oz Tomahawk Steak and split it between 3 adults. Ordered the steak medium rare, and it came out a bit closer to rare but that's OK. The peppercorn sauce was delicious. Steak came with 2 potato sides so we had roasted potatoes and fries. I've been traveling in Europe for 2 weeks and these were easily the best fries I've had the entire trip. Crispy on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside, and well seasoned. They do not offer real/straight horse radish. Only a creamy horse sauce. We had a delicious Bordeux red with the steak and it was a perfect pair. They do have a kids menu, which had some decent options... Squid and chips, burger, Mac and cheese, steak frites. The grilled Tuna Steak almost overshadowed the Tomahawk. We ordered it pink inside, and they delivered. It was perfectly seasoned and served with a garnish of grilled avocado with a tomato salsa. An incredible piece of fish! The building used to be a porn cinema so some of the artwork reflects that time. I'd describe it as tasteful decor, despite the subject matter. I felt like my Negroni cocktail was watered down. Don't miss Sofie's. So good!

Yelp
The food was to die for. I came here for a networking event so we had a set menu of shared plates. Everything was delicious. The main dishes are cook We had : VOL AU VENTS smoked Montgomery cheddar, truffle Chicken Liver Pâté parsley, shallot, melba toast Wood Smoked Mackerel green cucumber relish, sourdough crisp Ash Baked Beetroot goat's curd, bitter leaves, aged balsamic ALL SERVED WITH ROAST POTATOES & SEASONAL GREENS Slow Roasted West Country Beef gravy, horseradish, watercress & shallot salad Grilled Leeks shallot, miso capers, garlic butter Truffle Mac & Cheese gruyere, parmesan, crispy shallot Burnt Cheesecake wood roast berries Dark Chocolate Brownie and Sticky Toffee Pudding My favorite was the appetizers were the beetroot salad And chicken pate. The burnt cheesecake was ok, but the toffee sticky pudding sent my tastebuds straight to heaven- it was so good!! The beef was exceptional (goes without saying) I tried to take pics of the food but their events' room was lit too dimly. Also the glass doors don't really keep the noise from the restaurant out which made it difficult for us to hear each other, it was a bit annoying. Thankfully we were an energetic bunch so we didn't mind shouting at each other. The servers were friendly, but not super attentive. There was a time when we ran out of water and no one came to refill for at least 15 min. Not sure if this is the norm or if it was a one of because they were very busy that night.

Yelp
One thing I really loved about Sophies Steakhouse is the interior and atmosphere. I felt super comfortable and cozy. The food is amazing and staff are very respectful and nice . The steak is always cooked perfectly how I like it. I will definitely be returning . Love it.

Yelp
Fab evening at Sophie's in Soho. Four of us shared large tomahawk ribeye. One of the better steaks on London. Great ambience. Highly recommend.

Yelp
So, one thing we didn't realize is that just because the closing time on Yelp says one thing, it doesn't actually mean that. The restaurants in London close when they want. By the time we found a place to eat, that wasn't closing it was after 10pm. We made it to Sophie's and they said they would seat us but we had to get our full order in right away because the kitchen was closing in 20mins. We were thankful! The vibe/atmosphere was very nice. They sat us in the corner and we had a wonderful waiter. Sadly, I can't remember his name. We both got the ribeyes with chips. It was good, but not great. Add the bearnaise sauce and that made it better. We each had a side of chips (fries) and we shared the truffle Mac & cheese. The Mac wasn't great at all in my opinion. Also, the bread they brought to the table tasted kind of burnt. However, for the most part, the food was good and the service was great.

Yelp
Just a wonderful dinner for our last night in London. Our server was amazing. Steak was perfect. Drinks and desserts were delicious.

Yelp
What an amazing experience in London at Sophie's. Great service throughout the dinner. Great drinks. Great food (the giant shareable 55oz bone in rib-eye was perfectly cooked and I could eat that meal again and die happy). Just a super fun and well executed meal during my time in London. I honestly found the entire thing to be one of the most pleasant places i've dined in my travels. Prices are what you'd expect for a nice chophouse. The menu had plenty of options. Even the salad was superb. The affogato dessert was a delight. Once again...top notch and joyful service too. Highly recommend!!

Yelp
The taxi driver said: "if I was an American, I would never eat a steak in the UK." But, the steak was actually very good. It's difficult to get one grilled in America over an open flame like it is done at Sophie's. The wedge salad was stellar, made with butter leaf lettuce instead of iceberg as is common in the U.S. Dessert was just okay. Service was courteous but very slow: certainly a major difference from an American steakhouse. Overall, the filet and wedge salad were outstanding. This couch very well be the best place for a steak in London.

Yelp
We came here for dinner before seeing the ballet and it was a treat! To start, we had the sourdough with beef butter which was nice and salty. But for the main meal, we shared the Chef's Cut 35oz Porterhouse and it was ridiculously tasty. We both had chips as a side and I would recommend having the bearnaise sauce with the steak as it's a match made in heaven. We also shared a bottle of the Merlot which was good. The restaurant is very aesthetically pleasing and the staff very friendly. We didn't have time for dessert but we will have to give those a try another time. Sophie's is definitely a bit spenny but worth it in my opnion!

Yelp
Sophie's is a steakhouse type of restaurant with a contemporary ambience and very cool vibes. It is located in Soho and a stone throw's away from many major theatres in the West End (Tube: Piccadilly Circus). The set menu (12 - 7pm everyday) is a great bargain in this rather expensive area of London. A two-course set (app + main or main + dessert) costs 15 GBP (about US$19.50) and you can have all 3 courses for 18 GBP. If you don't think this is a bargain, please note that this is an upscale restaurant in an expensive area of London. For the first course we had the SQUASH SOUP which was a blender soup (very popular in Europe) that was refreshing, slightly peppery, and very tasty. The portion was huge for a lunch special - it was almost like a full bowl - and it was served with two thick slices of grilled sourdough bread. The STEAK FRITES (3 GBP supplement) was a good choice! The steaks were perfectly medium rare and medium as ordered. They looked and tasted like a top sirloin cut of beef and were tender and flavorful. Yummy Béarnaise sauce was served on the side and English mustard was available on request. (Yes - steak frites + English mustard = French with an English twist!) Service was friendly and attentive. Food was delicious. Place feels cool and hip. I definitely recommend this set menu (photo attached) for either lunch or an early bird pre-theatre dinner.

Yelp
I thought it was ok overall , the steak frites were a little bland ( mainly the steak) but I did enjoy the steak tartare.

Yelp
An impressive, comfortable and stylish space In the tourist mecca and hussle that is SoHo. We had a good table overlooking the kitchen preparations. For starters, the burrata was simple and delicious, the way it should be. I ordered the steak burger for main and it was excellent. The steak was ground and formed into a delicious medium rare patty. Melt in your mouth. The only issue was various drinks we didn't order being added to our bill. JD and coke isn't my style and the Spritz wasn't ordered. Not sure if this was a simple mistake (x 2) or staff drinks for later.

Yelp
Absolutely incredible experience from front to back. Perfect food, helpful staff, memorable vibes. This place is a must if you're in town!

Yelp
Went here for breakfast and I was surely in for a treat. I ordered the full english breakfast and it packed a ton of flavor. The baked beans were like barbeque baked beans that my dad would cook, so that was a huge plus for me. Egg was fried perfectly. Toast was crisp and fresh. Mushrooms went really well with the beans. Bacon was delicious and not drenched in oil. And the hashbrowns had a perfect fried shell around and a soft, mashed potatoe-like inside. I was very very pleased with breakfast and would definitely want to come here again.

Yelp
I love visiting London - but usually struggle with finding great food. After several mediocre meals - we found Sophie's. It was by far the best meal I've had in London. I had the Sunday roast. The potatoes were crispy on the outside - with a great crunch - yet moist and soft in the inside. The roast beef was well cooked and the vegetables couldn't have been better! I completely cleared my plate. The service was surprisingly good as well. Thanks!

Raymond L.

Yelp
Great steakhouse. Only complaint was we were seated too close to the grill and the smoke was a little much.

David W.

Yelp
Came in last minute with a friend and was provided seats at the bar. We had front role seats to the bartenders making drinks. It's actually was quite entertaining. I had the prime rib / ribeye. The steak was on point. You should make a reservation. Gets quite busy.

Yelp
Sophies was one of the best things happened during our London trip. 3 visits in 5 days, it's seriously THAT good. My boyfriend and I were looking for a cool bar on our first night in London and we stomped on Sophies. I instantly liked the vibe when we got in - music was good, people were happy, it was full of live. It's got a huge bar in the center, tables and lounge chairs on both sides surrounded with plants and flowers! I got two cocktails and tried my bf's drinks too, all were super tasty. Bar tenter knew we were visiting so he suggested a bunch of places for us to visit - talking about British hospitality! Love the ambience too, candlelight and dimmed lights. We went back two days later as we couldn't stop talking about it. This time we discovered: 1) Sophies is actually a restaurant, the bar (huge) we sat in the first night is just the bar for the restaurant, which is owned by Robert De Niro!! And 2) it's got this secretive club downstairs that not many people know about, apparently you'll only be told if the bartenders like you, and luckily we were liked! :) The next thing you know we were sipping on more cocktails and dancing our hearts out in this underground club, music was great too, and if you like people watching - boy there were SO many interesting characters there, but every single one was having so much fun. Even to this day I still vividly remember what an epic night that was. Then fast forwarding to our last night in London, hmm where should we have our last dinner? Sophies of course! We went for their famously known prime rib (see photos!!!), accompanied by a bottle of good wine. Man they delivered 200% - presentation, taste, service, 5 stars all around! Sophies is where magic happens, DO NOT miss this place if you're in London!!

Yelp
fabulous meal. we started with the grilled bread (skippable in my opinion) and cocktails, which were awesome. we then split the chateaubriand - expensive but so worth it. the spuds and fries were equally great sides. our waitress gave us a free scoop of mango sorbet, a refreshing end to the meal!

Yelp
Been here a few times with friends and the food , usually steak, and the ambience were great. Excellent service.
google avatar

Stein Kåre S.

Yelp
Soup was rather plain. No taste. The burger was ok, but not really anything exciting. The big mistake is not making sure that we're getting anything to drink with each course. Begging for drinks makes no sense for me as a customer (and probably not managers as well). Once we get the drinks we're pretty much done with each course.

Yelp
Atmosphere and service was great, but their drink menu left a lot to be desired from us out of towners visiting. Peaches & Cream were too creamy and not that peachy with a note of running alcohol. The Hugo was basically a gin mojito, but not that great. The prices are to be expected, but the selection given left us wondering if we should have just ordered our typical go-to drinks. I'm still allotting 4 stars because I am sure they can do better and the place looks and feela super rad. Hope to come back again soon!

Arlene Z.

Yelp
So, the good news is that my filet was delicious. My husbands steak was not that great. The menu was a little funky and the vibe was very trendy. We thought we were going out for a nice date/dinner, but a little disappointed. The seating is also funky. If you want something more traditional, this is not the place for you. If you are younger and want something more "hip", you'd probably like it. Not "bad", just not my cup of tea.

Yelp
We came Friday night 6:30 before a show - our first time to this restaurant. The inside/decor is beautiful to start off with. All of the staff are so friendly and helpful and really made us feel welcome. We were worried we would be late to our show but they were so helpful and made sure everything came out super quick. The food was SO So delicious. I had serloin - one of the best steaks I have had and my partner had the hamburger with side of asparagus - yum!! I did not know what to expect when booking but it was so amazing and I will definitely be coming again frequently !
