Every time I eat here, I'm delighted by how delicious the food is - so much depth of flavor. Don't miss getting the papusas!

Ordered the TaTa burrito Togo. When I started eating it there wasn’t any guacamole or sourcream and barely any meat, Was mostly beans and rice. There was also a dozen flies buzzing around the restaurant. Definitely not worth the 16$ for burrito.

Made a pretty big order of popusas, I made the order over the phone and recheck a verified the details; one of the popusas had no filling. It was plain; the sauces for 20+ popusas was very little, even the cabbage/slaw marinate was not enough. And to top it off the filling inside the popusas was very light, I don’t have time to go back to the restaurant and show them all this. The good thing about this place is the sauces are tasty and spicy and the Surtido(marinated slaw) is very flavorful and delicious- You’ll need to ask for extra sauce and slaw marinate to flavor up the dough because not enough filling inside.

Fresh and tasty! Their meat is always delicious and everything seems very fresh. Fast service too

The food was good but getting upset because I asked for extra salsa is crazy. The young girl working the front counter was not friendly at all. I really try to support small Latino businesses because I'm Latino but it's hard to when you don't even feel welcomed 😞

Nice little restaurant feels and taste home made. I ordered the taco plate in chicken. While the rice and chicken was kinda lacking, the hot sauce that was provided was excellent and very favorfull. Also.. can't forget the sangria

Tacos are pricey but some places it’s worth it. For them they are not they were super soggy and the tacos fell apart , the amount of onion and cilantro was good but the spicy pork isn’t spicy and it’s very liquidy, the customer service could be a lot better.

I love their pupusas! I just found this local gem - hole in the wall and their pupusas are delicious. I have not tried anything else but their pupusas but that is all I need from them!

The horchata saved my life! Reasonably priced papusas to boot. I enjoyed every bite of this meal. The in-house made tortilla chips with a kiss of lime was the perfect addition and the salsas were all fresh and unique. Definitely will order again.

Stopped by to grab food to go and had a great meal! On a Saturday at 620p they were out of a few items, which was a good sign to us.. fish tacos were great, but the veggie tacos were amazing. The pineapple pork was a favorite as tacos and a bowl for our friends. Dessert wise - Churros came in thick vanilla ice cream and the plantains were decadent. Party of 7 and everyone loved their food. Would 100% come back!

Why is it so hard to find good Mexican food in Seattle? Another place that affirms my complaint. I wanted some tacos so I came in. Sophie's is a super cute place that sits right on busy 35th. The Safeway is across the street. Parking is available in the back of the building and its not the best. It was quiet and not too crowded when I went in. I remember it being pretty dark in there. They should brighten the lights. Service was decent, but nothing special. I could tell that this is a family run business, which makes me sad to give a negative review, but the critiques are based on the food. It wasn't good. I ordered an al pastor taco and a pork tamale. The al pastor was dry and lightly seasoned. The best part was the grilled pineapple. The tamale was unrecognizable and mushy on the inside. It couldn't hold its shape and started to break apart. Big disappointment. I won't be back but I am glad that the community supports this place.

Burrito is good. This is the quesadilla :( They could do a lot better with very little effort.

So we.were goimg.to school thing abd was hungry Wenty husband burrito was so good. I.got one al pastor taco wow yummy So got 2 more abd they were NOT the same gard to eat The tortilla the second time was not cooked.good so.disapointed I hate when it's never the same even 5 min later

Yummy fish tacos! I'd been wanting to try this taco shop out for months and finally had the opportunity to order takeout for lunch! So glad I did. My order was ready in about 15 minutes and was reasonably priced! I love that they have such a varied menu full of tasty options, including homemade tamales! I will be back to try the tamales and other menu items for sure!

Sophie makes good tacos. I've eaten there twice and will return. There is more on their menu if tacos don't grab you.

We love Sophie's Tacos! Everything there is super delicious and they're very friendly. Prices are average and our favorite is the Sophie's taco with the marinated pineapple pork. My kids love the steak fries. Parking can be challenging but it's worth it. Great neighborhood spot.

Probably my favorite spot for veggie-friendly, authentic latin food. I adore their pupusas, their taco plate is tasty as heck, and the tamales are bomb when you can get them. I love that I have multiple options for vegetarian food when I go, and they're all fantastic dishes in their own right! The pricing is super reasonable - instead of big combo platters you're more likely to order a few separate things, which makes it easy to be budget and portion friendly

We finally tried this place after driving by it every day for years and definitely regret not going sooner! The food was remarkable and the owner was so sweet. We loved it so much, we ordered Togo food to take to some neighbors so they get hooked on Sophie's asap too. We got the revueltas pupusas, asada tacos and an agua fresca (I'm spacing on the flavor we ordered) - all were so flavorful. There were also plenty of small plate/side options of quesadilla, bean/cheese burrito, rice, beans and tater tots to help us put together some kids plates for our littles. We parked in the neighborhood a block east and walked up, but realized there was plenty of parking available right below their building. There was also more seating inside than I had expected, based on the storefront size. They seemed to have a healthy Togo business rocking while we were there and our food still came out very quickly. Give it a shot if you haven't tried yet or haven't tried again since they first opened a couple years ago. I hope this place gets to stick around Wedgwood for a long time!

Sophie's makes fresh, delicious, and reasonably priced tacos and pupusas. The people that work there are friendly and provide great service and keep a serene and clean shop.They make really yummy drinks too- the mangonada on a hot day is just the thing! Love their bean and cheese pupusas! Sophie's is a great addition to Wedgwood.

SERVICE FOCUSED RATING! They advertise that they're open till 8:30p, I stopped in at 7:45p & the doors were locked, lights & signs were off and they were cleaning up. The food may be great here, it may not - but I won't be finding out today - that's for sure! Be open whatever hours you want, just be sure to be open when you say you're open! Closing early (flex closing?) is the kiss of death for establishments! Whatever you save in the short will undoubtedly cost you in the long run!

I went it to this restaurant today order 8 tacos and one one drink when I got home I I did the math over again and realized she over charged me by 13.50. Not only that she gave my husband a free taco trying to flirt with him. I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone. My total should have been 32.50. Instead it was 46, And some change. Not only that they were talking shit in the back which isn't hard to hear when the kitchen is in the same room as the seating area and no other customers are in there. Also I speak Spanish. Really should be more carful on the things you say very poor customer service. I promise you this is not a joke in anyway.

Fantastic tacos!! No one was in the restaurant dining but my partner and I ate there and they were very kind to us. Nice and fast. We got the gringas tacos that have flour tortillas instead of corn and have been twice now. Tried 4 of the meats at this point. Genuinely some of the best tacos of my life. So delicious and flavorful. Could not recommend more highly!

Updating my review for Sophie's Tacos since I frequent the similar establishments between Northgate and U District. This remains my favorite. All of the food they serve is delicious and seasoned perfectly.

Family-owned little cafe with great value AND delicious pupusas. You can tell the masa and everything is made in house - very fresh and flavorful. Aguas frescas also delicious. A must try if you're in Wedgwood.

Since I can't give a half star review I'm going with a 3.5 star review. The food is pretty tasty and the service is quick/friendly for a small staff, I was just slightly underwhelmed with the Tata burrito in particular. The amount of guacamole was non existent and the steak severely under-seasoned. So I would just recommend getting a different menu item, by all means this is not meant to be a negative review just simply a suggestions to try other items. Specifically the wet burrito and the pastor tacos, but pretty much all other items are great in both price/ taste!

This is a small family business. The way they marinate their meat is fantastic. The chicken is always moist and flavorful! I'm here at least twice a week. Their menu looks simple at first but it has so much to try! Food is made to order and great portion sizes! I over order every time!! This place is fantastic!

Okay, it's a new restaurant, there's still a pandemic, the world is upside down etc. Still, it's been open for a week and obviously they should have done some prep and training first. We ordered and waited 40 minutes, watched other people getting their orders, before finally asking about our food - got a dismissive response and finally got our food with no apology 10 minutes later. the No Cilantro request resulted in twice as much cilantro two out of six items received were not what we ordered Pupusas are greasy and apparently prefabricated taco Salad? Really? food was generally bland "Pan-American" menu is almost entirely food court Mexican food (they do also serve pupusas and tamales) tortillas taste like they came from Safeway They get the second star for having tater tots on the menu - not that we ordered them and why on earth are they on the menu? Chalk it up to creative license....

I want my opener to be about my experience: wow am I so incredibly happy this is in the area, filling a SERIOUS void for good Mexican/Central American food in what is otherwise, a pretty sad neighborhood for those options. Now, secondly, I'm not normally the type to read previous yelpers when I start a review, but I think it's fair to ask... seriously who orders taco salads at authentic El Salvadorean restaurants. It's clearly the menu item for your friend you dragged along with you, it's not designed to be the main feature. Adorable family owned restaurant with family children running amok and amazing food! I ordered the taco plate (basic I know) with asada, and a pupusa, and the pupusa almost made me cry. Really soft, rich, creamy. And already not a super common menu item. To the comment that they were pre-fabricated, the manager even came out to explain to me the wait was because pupusas take some time to prep and make... maybe later in the day is a different experience? But it's great as a lunch time item. They have tamales, enchiladas, etc, all of which I'm really excited to try! Really great flavors, really nice people, and definitely better than any other options between Green Lake to Magnuson.

They are yummy! My favorites are the chorizo tacos but you really can't go wrong with any of the options. We got them to go, and they were still perfect by the time we got home.

We love Sophie's tacos and are regular customers. Highly recommend the Pastor gringas, rice and tamales. A small family run business and a favorite in the neighborhood. Great food, quick, affordable and friendly service!

I ordered takeout and now am eager to try dining in. This food is DELISH! The flavors are familiar yet unique. Try the pupusas, tamales, and flautas.

Had a steak Tata Burrito and a horchata to go. Set me back $19. Didn't bother to check how much the horchata was, but let's say it was a $13 burrito. The meat tasted like it was boiled. I wasn't given any salsa. Overall I would say it was an "okay" burrito. Not even good. Especially not $13 good. Horchata was good though.

The people were friendly and the food was DELICIOUS! Such great flavor. I had Sophie's Plate with chicken and the other party had Pork Pastor with flautas to go.

Great, homey family spot that offers good value for the money! We ordered pupusas and the taco plate - pupusas were great and the taco plate included delicious grilled veggies and beans along with a basket of tortillas. Felt healthy and home cooked. My daughter loved it. It's a casual spot for a quick dinner but you leave feeling cared for. Wish I'd visited sooner - now we know and we'll return for sure!

I ordered a burrito to go. There wasn't any salsa, guac, sour cream, or meat in the first quarter of the burrito. There was too much rice and for some time I just kept eating rice and beans wrapped in tortilla. The actual surprise was when I passed half way through and finally was happy to find some meat and sauce. But there was a catch! A long hair stuck way back that I couldn't just pull it off. Though I was still hungry, that was it. All in all, terrible experience. I keep trying to support local businesses but this is just unacceptable on multiple levels.

By far the best flautas I've ever had in Seattle. I'm born and bred in the NE Seattle neighborhood and am very very impressed with everything we ordered tonight!!!! Thank You!

Delicious food, quick and friendly service and a very reasonable price point - what's not to love? Tried a little bit of everything and really enjoyed it all. The pork tamale was one of the most flavorful ones I'd ever had, with chunks of meat and a delicious sauce that had some heat and was well seasoned. The pupusa was the star of the show - definitely get these if you're here! The pickled veggies served alongside complimented the cheese / dough / protein combination really well and was served piping hot. We enjoyed our Sophie's tacos too - the Barbacoa and the homemade chorizo were a bit greasy but to be expected and the Al pastor was solid. Also recommend the horchata - very cinnamon-y and creamy. We were in the area and decided to check out Sophie's on a whim and were so happy we did. The owner was super nice and answered all my questions / gave me some recommendations on his favorite dishes, which helped make it easy to narrow down what to order.

Bummer. Schedule says they were open on Wednesday night but they were closed. No answering voicemail either.

A total Mom & Pop place and very new when I tried it. My service was excellent, with the predicted wait for takeout right on. Though it would not surprise me if they could get overwhelmed at busy times as they settle in. But most importantly the *food*. The loroco pupusas and the pastor tacos were really special. Wow. This is going to become a go-to place for us.

Excellent Pupusas! Sometimes they have other flavors than listed on the menu so you should ask. Today they had vegan cheese available. They also have a variety of tamales that sound great but haven't tried them, plus burritos and tacos of course.

We love Sophie's! Every Saturday, we order papusas to go, and every Saturday, they are exactly what we want. The salsa they give you with the papusas is also amazing!

Best tacos I've had in the entirety of the PNW. This place is an absolute gem.

I was in the mood for tacos so decided to try them out, and for what I paid I was disappointed and my order was wrong. Plus the lady was kind of rude. We will not be back.

This is a small, family run unassuming place, seats about 20 at most. The staff is super friendly and engaging, kind of rare in Seattle! wanted a small snack really to hold me over and opted for the Sophie's Taco with al pastor and grilled pineapple. That combination along with the grilled veggies was not only a generous portion but the absolute best taco I've had in quite some time and I am kinda of a picky eater...even better than El Camión! I highly recommend this charming place on the corner of 75th and 35th NE! It will become your go to spot, I know it has for me.

Solid Central American food. Great mangonada (spicy tamarind and mango drink). Friendly people. Looks small from outside but decent amount of seating inside. They do have parking in back of building or walk over from Safeway. Support a local business!

I wish I could give more stars, their flautas are unbelievable! I moved up from San Diego a year ago and I've been so bummed with the lack of good mexican food around here, I'd put Sophies flautas and that salsa up against just about any hole in the wall spot in SD. If you like Mexican food come here!

Our family loves this place! There's something for everyone on the menu, tastes fresh, and great service when we pick up. We've only ever done take-out so can't speak to the dining-in experience but it looks to be pretty small and basic. Can't wait to try more of the menu!

The food at Sophie's Tacos is ample and tasty at a reasonable price. However, a really BIG bug fell out of my to go order just as I raised it to my lips. I returned to the place with the uneaten portion. They kindly refunded the money I'd paid, took a look at the picture I'd taken of the large bug, and said, "We don't have bugs!"

Simply the best. Always a must when I'm in the area. Their papusas are the greatest and the family that runs it is so kind.

I've been wanting to try this spot since it's a quick 2min drive from my house! Overall friendly friendly atmosphere and employers! However was a bit disappointed with the food itself, I ordered to go and was told my food would be ready in about 7min, so i was there early for pick up since I'm close. When I got home to dive in to try the food( 2min drive) most of the food was cold/luke warm. The pastor pork was cold and dry.. Only item hot was the corn tortillas! So a bit disappointed in my first experience. Guac and Spicy salsa was really good, flavorful! I just don't know if I'll order again due to this first impression.

I ordered dinner for a backyard get together. Everyone picked what they wanted and I ordered for delivery. I was a little nervous as this was for company, I had never ordered from them, and I had seen some unfavorable reviews. But all my guests were happy and the food was fresh, authentic and tasty. We had the Mexican Tortas, the taco salad, a taco plate with veggies, a tatas burrito, tamales, and revueltas pupusas with sides of rice, guacamole, and chips. I would definitely order from them again.

Happy to have this mom & pop shop in my neighborhood. The food isn't fancy or high-end, but it is delicious. Prices are reasonable, and there's plenty of seating. I love that they serve Mulitas, as it's hard to get those anywhere else and are my favorite.

I was excited there was a new Mexican place in my neighborhood. I placed an order at 4pm for pickup at 7; plenty of time. I got there, no food. They eventually found the order after a couple minutes of confusion and were going to start cooking it. I said forget it and got Vietnamese down the street. The ability to cook does not imply the ability to run a restaurant. Also, no online menu, no website, and the person who took my order didn't listen well.

A new gem in Wedgwood! Tacos Pastor delicious! Salsa is just the right balance of heat and flavor to compliment the food. Guacamole is solid. Definitely a good add on to any order. I tried the cheese and veggie tamale, which had great texture and flavor. I can hardly wait to go back and try the pork tamales! I will definitely be enjoying the food often at Sophie's Tacos in Wedgwood.
