Sora by Hotel Collection - Review - Wynwood - Miami - The Infatuation

"Sora is a sushi restaurant in Wynwood with omakase options that start at $95 (you can also order a la carte). On Wednesdays, they do champagne and caviar (one ounce) for $59. We’re curious, but not optimistic. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Mariana Trabanino

WOW! Freshest sushi I’ve ever had. Better than nobu, better than Matsuhisa, anywhere in vegas, LA or nyc. I haven’t been to Japan but this made me feel like that’s what it would taste like. I love wasabi and soy sauce on everything but these need nothing. So good. We both did the 12 piece sampler and I loved them all. Their espresso martini and lychee martini are great also. They also offer a blind dining option at the bar that a couple was doing which seemed super cool! The atmosphere is lounge vibes and dim lighting so it feels like you’re at a fun club but on an intimate scale. The service was immaculate, everytime we got up to use the restroom our server re-folded our napkins. She was French so the attention to detail was so nice and she was so friendly. The crowd was beautiful too. Great spots for photos and video opportunities for IG also. 10/10

The Sora tuna cutting event was incredible! The ambiance was electric yet refined, and getting to sit at the bar made the experience even better. Our bartender, Julian, was absolutely outstanding, attentive, precise, and the perfect balance of friendly and professional. The food was phenomenal, every bite exceeded expectations. This is the kind of place and event that leaves you excited to return. Highly recommend!

Google
Tuna cutting experience! The experience is cool! Watching the chef and his crew to cut and debone a big tuna and serving it direct to us! The taste was really fresh and delicious! We got some champagne while waiting for the ceremony which took an hour from the starting time so don’t come very early if you don’t want to wait. The place is really cramp and there’s not enough table so most guests were standing. The people who stands near the bar area got most of the tuna. Most people near the bar table where the tuna cutting ceremony was performed stayed on their place. Although there are waitresses and waiters walking around with some food you’ll be lucky if you get a sashimi. The crowd mostly is the concerned, space is tiny and it’s hot inside! They should have a better way to serve the tuna equally so everyone can taste the best part of the meat and also worth of what they paid for!

Please do the ceremony earlier, or setup good artificial light to appreciate the art of the Tuna proffessional cut. A colder setup could be appreciated in the Miami heat. Service was good. Drinks were below average. The Tuna plates creativity enriched the experience. With a few changes, the experience could become a great overall.

Sooo Sora was a beautiful experience ☺️ from the outside to walking inside just stunning. Our waitress was Glorina “I might have her name wrong 😑” however she was amazing. Explained the menu clearly and assisted with our order. Everything we was tasty and quality chefs kiss 💋 the drinks were great as well. It’s on the $$$$ side but worth every penny and the experience. Will go back again ☺️

Google
Amazing food. Definitely fresh toro. Worth the money. Would come back any time just for this. Staff was great. The Chef was super nice and down to earth. Anyone who doesn't give this event or place 5 stars can not be pleased.

Google
Fantastic restaurant with an experience to match. The Chef goes to infinite lengths to ensure that the food quality, aesthetic, and taste are all top notch. No expense is spared when you dine at Sora By HC. Between the Omakase, the Tuna Cutting Ceremony, Sushi Classes, and the weekly Caviar event there is always something going on to break up the monotony of most dining experiences. I highly recommend Sora.

Yelp
I had the pleasure of experiencing one of the most unique dining concepts I've ever encountered--an intimate, blindfolded sushi tasting Sora. Without sight, every bite became more vibrant. The texture, temperature, and flavor of each sushi piece felt amplified. We weren't told what we were eating--just guided through a beautifully orchestrated mystery of tastes and sensations. Some bites were buttery and rich, others had a tangy pop or a hint of spice that lingered. Every piece was a surprise, and somehow, that made it even more delicious. It was more than a meal--it was a sensory experience, and it made me appreciate sushi in a whole new way. The chef's creativity and the attention to detail truly shined. I walked away with a greater appreciation for flavor and for the artistry behind every roll. I enjoyed the service, company, atmosphere, drinks, sushi & the dessert after the matcha cheesecake was amazing. If you're looking for something that's bold, interactive, and memorable, keep an eye out for this kind of tasting at Sora. It's an experience you won't forget

Yelp
I attended the tuna cutting ceremony back in May. Though there were a few kinks in the sense that it was still a new event, the event itself was fantastic, and I am sure they have been able to perfect this event. The only thing I did not like was you did not have a seat, so really hope they fixed this. This was some of the best tuna I have ever had! The chef was so kind, and for $125/pp for unlimited tuna, I thought it was a great event! The restaurant itself is very small, so it would be worth going back to see if the event is now not oversold, because, again--such a fun and great event! I receive emails all of the time of different events, so definitely worth checking out!

Yelp
Hey Foodies, I have your next date night idea! It's the perfect Thursday plan: UNLIMITED WINE + SUSHI MAKING CLASS at SORA in Miami. Grab your apron and you welcome glass of champagne, and get ready! You start of the experience with some rice crackers and miso soup. The miso soup was suprisingly flavorful with some extra veggies you don't traditionally see. As the sushi kits are delivered you are taught by a very welcoming staff the art of making handrolls. It's a total vibe. Might it have been the unlimited wine but I was quickly starting to feel like an expert. You then try to make some nigir and same, you almost feel like you should start applying to become the next omakase chef. It was such a great experience to share. The perfect way to unwind and learn a new skill in a fun sexy place.

Yelp
We went to the tuna cutting ceremony which is ALL OVER my IG feed. From the minute we walked up something was off. There was no explanation to how the event worked. The host handed me a hot plastic cup of champagne and led us outside to the patio area where we waited for an hour flagging down servers trying to order. They had two types of passed apps. Salmón hand rolls which were ok, really nothing special and a hamachi crudo served on a RITZ cracker of all things. I had to walk to the bar to order my drinks because the server forget and never came back to check on us. When I asked what time the event was going to start they responded with idk were behind today. Several people didn't get seated since they over sold the event. The tuna was sitting out for at least 3 hours before the ceremony even started and from food safety stand point is kind of a nightmare. It honestly felt like I was living in an episode of kitchen nightmares. The concept is cool but they need some serious work, maybe dial back on the marketing and focus on training staff. We did get a little gift bag which was nice.

Yelp
Horrible experience. very far from being up scale, you just hurtle around the tuna and stand there the whole time. I couldn't see anything because there was so many ppl. I left right away.
