"Sorano, a glamorous new Italian joint in town, occupies a 4,500-square-foot spot on the first floor of the century-old Harrington Residency, a mansion turned hotel that also houses the iconic Harrington Street Art Centre. Within months of its inception, the restaurant built a glittering reputation on the strength of its Neapolitan-style pizzas, hand-rolled pasta, and funky cocktails. Sorano is named after a small town in Tuscany, and the menu explores different regions of Italy. But the kitchen sources ingredients from select vendors and farms outside of Kolkata to make fresh pastas, breads, and cheeses in-house. When they’re not busy admiring the large mosaic-clad wood-fired oven next to the bar, guests can watch their pasta being kneaded, rolled, and shaped through the “Pasta Fresca” window." - Priyadarshini Chatterjee

Well. This is definitely one of the finest dining, serving Italian food in the town. In love with their pizzas (Neapolitan style). The bruschetta was finger licking good. Sorano has suggested us a cocktail and a mocktail and I must say we were very impressed. Obsessed with the ambience. The bar menu and food menu seems sorted. Everything was just perfect. Would love to visit again. ❤️

Had a wonderful evening at Sorano. The staff was friendly, the ambience was good. We were waited on by Mr. Shuvasish who was extremely well versed with the menu, sharing every detail about the ingredients and effort that went into creating a culinary delight. Also, kudos to the mixologist for coming up with a wide range of cocktails. We ordered Mushroom Forest and Calamari Fritti for starters. Calamari is an all time favourite, but the Mushroom Forest requires a special mention for being exceptionally palatable. We also ordered a platter of Cold cuts and finished off with a Deconstructed Tiramisu. Needless to say,all the items were delectable. For drinks,we preferred to try their cocktails: Truffle Agrodolce, Lonely Traveller, A Sicilian Message, Mind of A coconut, El Diablo. Now,some may find the items a bit pricey, but the dining experience at Sorano is definitely worth it. I would recommend this place for a quiet romantic night,or probably for a brunch with friends or family.

This place is located at about 15 mins walking distance from Maidan metro station Gate no. 2. It is one of the prettiest, most aesthetic places in Kolkata, the dim lighting and the music added to its beauty. The service was fast and the staff were efficient and polite. We tried their: • Smoked Chicken Pizza (priced at Rs 765) • Lime Blossom Refresher (priced at Rs 395) • Cappeletti Di Pollo (priced at Rs 795) • Deconstructed Tiramisu (priced at Rs 595) The pricing was on the higher side considering the portion size. We wanted to try 2 types of pizza (of same price) so they gave us the option to customise our pizza with half of each types. Overall a great experience!

They had a rough start but boy have they glown up now! Food is very nice, not authentic Italian, almost authentic with a Kolkata twist, which is totally understandable. Cute place to bring your date for a lunch and enjoy the beautiful atmosphere here.

Very poor service. Staff didn't quite understand what was even printed on the menu. Cocktails weren't too bad but the serving was laughable. It almost felt like 2 shooters. Food was extremely overrated. Tried appetizers, pizzas and pastas, and it was just, okay. Desserts were highly disappointing. Tiramisu was substandard and death by chocolate barely had any chocolate. The decor might be appealing for some (you find a lot of people visiting only for pictures) but I didn't find anything special about this place. Best to avoid.

Very much posh 'Ristorante' located in a posh area! The decor, ambience, soft lighting & suitable background music, staff behaviour are top notch. Your taste buds will thank you for choosing their veg options as well. Go and enjoy their exquisite menu along with clicking tons of pictures for your Instagram!! 😜 . Highly recommend🎀 . P.s- Inshaallah, I'm gonna make them write "happy anniversary" for me too, soon! 💝

Wanted to try Neapolitan Pizza that kolkata has to offer, ahead of my visit to Naples, and this place delivered. Started with a classic Margherita, tried Sicilian Pollo Puttanesca also. Both Pizzas were really flavourful and the wood fire roasted bread was amazing. Continued with a pasta, Tagliatelle Bolognese which had minced lamb in it, tasted really good. In dessert, tried the famous deconstructed tiramisu and yeah it has its reasons for being famous. Service was really good. Ambiance is one of a kind, you have to be there, I can't explain it in words. As a whole it was a really good experience.
