Sorano

A great choice for anyone who enjoys exploring flavours beyond the usual Indian taste profile. The dishes have that authentic Italian depth — subtle, refined, and very different from what you’d get at regular places. It is on the pricier side (expected from a five-star setting), but the overall experience makes it feel worth it. The ambience is absolutely stunning — elegant, warm, and extremely photogenic. The food itself was unique, beautifully presented, and genuinely delicious. A lovely spot if you want something special, different, and memorable.

It's a great addition to Kolkata's restaurant scene. An Italian inspired menu, some great cocktails and a nicely done up decor. We had gone for lunch so it was relatively easy to get a table, i have heard it gets crowded in the evening/night.

Vibrant atmosphere with authentic and flavorful Italian fare. All the dishes we tried tasted awesome. The servers are very helpful, knowledgeable and ready to offer suggestions and customisation. The spread offered is extensive, and is a perfect mix of traditional and experimental dishes. I would love to visit again!

We were looking for authentic Italian cuisine for our special day and we found this gem (Apparently not 'hidden'). As far as the atmosphere is concerned , the place has a very cozy dreamy vibe thanks to the interior and excellent light design which takes you to another world away from the chaos of kolkata just outside. Coming to the food, We ordered 4 dishes 1. Classic margherita pizza - Its Neopolitan styled pizza here. On top of that they said its made with 150 year old sourdough starter from Italy and no commercial yeast used. The pizza shows classic neopolitan style , very thin base with airy and fluffy edges, leopard spot, crunch outside and chewy inside and excellent proportion of mozzarella cheese and tomato sauce with fresh basil. Its in top two in kolkata alongside fabbrica we tasted 2. Classic Caesar salad- Excellent representation, with perforated designed potato crisp, parmesan cheese, olive oil, garlic with romaine and iceberg lettuce. We found a bit over in salt but overall excellent 3. Spinach Ricotta Rosette - We expected small dumplings but got one huge one (Green colored in the pics). Spinach and ricotta cheese stuffing is awesome and the sauce it was served in was heavenly 4. We asked for deconstructed Tiramisu but that's not available now. They have introduced 'Heart of Espresso' Tiramisu which was in ball shape with chocolate crisp on side and espresso poured over it tableside . Excellent balance of mild sweetness of tiramisu and mild bitterness of espresso. Exquisite.

An exceptional dining experience. A perfect gem for a date. The inner decor, the ambience, the vibe totally takes you out from the busy streets for a while. We ordered the Chicken garlic skewers- soft tender skewers marinated in garlic with lettuce on the side. Perfectly blended with the spices. Next the Country Chicken Cappellacci-stuffed pasta drowned in parmesan broth. A dish with such rich flavours yet subtle. To complement took the Blush Bloom mocktail- refreshing with its fruity flavour profile. To conclude, we had the The Chocolate Play- with a lot of things going on the plate- sorbet, caprese cubes, mousse, smoked aerated chocolate. A bit costly but was worth the total experience. Definitely gonna comeback someday later.

Ambiance- A total 10/10, it’s perfect for date or to spend quality time. Very calm & cozy environment Food- I didn’t like that food much. The taste was very bland. Tried their pizza, a starter, and drinks. Too much costly but not that good. But one thing I liked is the dessert. Very unique desserts are available. Overall a 5/10

The ambiance and service were excellent. Relaxing background music created a nice atmosphere, and it was easy to have a proper conversation. The quality of the food was outstanding. I ordered the lamb, which was very tender and tasted great. For me, there was too much vegetables on the plate, and the presentation of the dish could have been better. Otherwise, it was a great experience. I will definitely come back.

If you’re in Kolkata and craving a slice of Italy with a touch of elegance, Sorano is where you need to be.Nestled in the heart of the city, this charming Italian restaurant beautifully combines refined ambiance, top-notch service, and mouthwatering cuisine that leaves a lasting impression.Coming to the food — I tried the Neapolitan Chicken Pizza, and it was nothing short of perfection. The crust was thin, airy, and beautifully blistered with just the right chewiness, topped with a generous layer of juicy chicken, fresh mozzarella n feta cheese, and tangy tomato sauce. To end the meal on a sweet note, I opted for the Chocolate Raspberry Tart, and it was divine. Rich, velvety chocolate paired with the tartness of raspberry created a decadent contrast.In short, Sorano isn’t just a meal — it’s an experience. With its beautiful ambience, amazing quality food, and genuinely warm hospitality.
