SORIMMARA Malatang & Hot pot Shoreline (소림마라 쇼어라인점)

Went here on a Sunday around noon. Place was nice and clean, and it wasn't too busy at all. You scan the menu on the table. If you want to get the "malatang" and it's variety, either the normal with broth, the dry stir fried, or the black bean sauce style, you will be able to pick out the ingredients that you want for it. They provide a bowl where you can put all the ingredients that you want from all the fish cakes, tofu, meatballs, meat, and veggies. They have a good selection to choose from. You pay by the pound but they have a minimum of 1 pound for one dish. For kids, they can make a non spicy broth, just let them know that you want no spice at all. They also serve rice cake dish, rice balls, hot pot, and some fried pork, chicken, or shrimp with some sauce. The creamy shrimp one is good! I've not tried the other ones, but they look good. Plenty of parking on their lot as well I recommend coming here if you want to be able to customize your malatang bowl and have it made to order. Flavor is good and worth visiting, especially on a cold day where you are craving something soupy and spicy

Such a lucky find. Staff was great, food was out quick and everything was delicious. Highly recommend & we'll definitely be back. They'll warn you that the spice heat is dialed up a bit so depending on your usual level, go down a notch.

I love that you pay by weight and have so many ingredients to choose from – great variety and good prices too. The mala soup is delicious, and you can pick your own spice level. For me, level 2 was plenty spicy! The service was great as well. It was our first time, and they were super helpful in explaining everything. I’m so glad this restaurant opened near my house! There are so many other menu items I want to try. I might’ve visited on a slower day because some of the veggies weren’t super fresh, but I’m definitely coming back to try the dry pot next time!

Absolutely delicious hot pot or hotpot! The servers welcomed me in, explained how it worked, and answered any questions I had. The price was great, the ingredients fresh, and atmosphere modern. I got the spicy Malatang (soup) and 3 star spicy and it hit the spot for lunch. It's a smidge more spicy than Shin Ramyun. I'll get the 4 next time and maybe the 5, depending on how spicy it is. Definitely coming back again!

The food is delicious, with a well-balanced flavor and expertly prepared. I really like that you can choose the ingredients you want. However, be careful not to take too much. Otherwise, you might be shocked by the price when you pay.

I recently decided to visit a trendy restaurant that has been popular on Instagram. Initially, I had low expectations for the taste, but I was pleasantly surprised. The variety of fresh ingredients displayed on the shelves was impressive, and the staff were remarkably friendly and well-trained, especially for a newly opened establishment. The clean and neatly arranged interior made me feel satisfied even before the food arrived. To my delight, the food was outstanding. My husband enjoyed the rich malatang broth, while I loved the rose mala xiang guo, where the creaminess balanced the spiciness perfectly. The thick sauce paired well with the ingredients. We also ordered the Cream Shrimp Guobaorou as a side dish. Its sweet sauce complemented the spiciness of the other dishes, making it a great option for those who can't handle too much heat. I can see myself visiting this restaurant frequently in the future, and I hope they continue to maintain their high standards!

This place was absolutely delicious! Everything was clean and fresh with lots of surprising options. A variety of rice cakes, dumplings, and noodles. My husband got the soup base while I opted for the rose dry mix. Both our bowls were perfect. Sauce bar gives recipes for popular flavors. Cold carafes of ice water were provided to each table. Ice water with actual ice cubes! You know Asian restaurants usually serve room temp. The ice water was perfect cooling for down from the steam and they even offered milk if the bowl was too spicy. I cannot wait to go back.

So glad we have a Malatang spot in shoreline! Love the concept of paying per pound, makes it so easy. Their minimum was $16? It was satisfied with my meal service was great, sauce bar was nice, quality of meats and other items were good. I’d come back!
