A hidden gem! We did not know what to expect when arriving however this is the most incredible property with the most breath breathtaking views! It was the perfect destination with our two boys as there was so much to offer ( the ranch is located right on the Colorado river with red Mesa‘s surrounding the entire property). We were able to go rafting on the River, horseback riding with Katie (the properties Wrangler, who is amazing with children), we enjoyed an ATV ride with Mike (who is so knowledgeable about the area) enjoyed the pool and hot tub and utilized their complimentary bikes to get around the property. There is a petting zoo and there were three baby goats that we were able to hold! Apart from the Ranch, we enjoyed Arches National Park and walking around the little town of Moab. This is definitely a destination we will return to!

We had a wonderful time overall! The location is absolutely beautiful, and it’s a perfect spot for a relaxing weekend on the Colorado River with family and dogs. The views are stunning, and there are some great amenities like the pool and tennis courts. That said, a few things could use some improvement. The convenience store on-site was closed, which was a bit inconvenient since there aren’t many options nearby for food or snacks. The garden wasn’t growing anything despite being advertised as part of the farm-to-table experience, and while the spa setup was nice, there wasn’t a resident masseuse. The bikes had flat tires and no working pump, and service at the restaurant was slower than expected. Given the premium pricing, I would’ve expected more attention to detail and a more all-inclusive feel. Still, with some attention to service and operations, this place has a lot of potential. I’d definitely consider returning in the future.

Our suite was beautiful and comfortable. The porch had 2 rockers and a swing looking out at the river. All the staff we had contact with were professional and personable. The animals were a bonus. Their caretakers were great. The food was all delicious. Especially the desserts. The location is worth a few minutes of extra time. The amenities were plentiful. There was a big fire pit burning every night with S'mores. I can't say enough positive things about Sorrel River Ranch and have recommended it to several people. We will be back soon!

We can’t say enough amazing things about our stay at Sorrel River Ranch. My husband and I came here for our honeymoon and every member of the staff went above and beyond to make every aspect fantastic and memorable. Our room was wonderful. Very clean, fluffy towels, updated fixtures, comfy bed, excellent WiFi, and great housekeeping service everyday (a rarity nowadays). The restaurant and bar service was top notch. The staff is on top of every detail and always made sure we had everything we needed. We do wish that there were more options on the menus. It’s very limited and QUITE pricey, so we travelled into Moab for a lot of our lunches and dinners. JJ’s was nice to have on-site but also pricey with limited options. The restaurant was not a highlight of our stay. The ranch itself is stunning. The view on the back deck was to die for and we loved sitting out there for cocktails in the evenings after the sun went behind the mesas. We also loved the woodless bonfires in the evenings and the complimentary s’mores. The complimentary guided morning hikes on-site by Erasmus and Mike were a great way to start each day. We also loved the meet and greet with the animals (shoutout to Chase!) We also had an excellent massage at the spa and it was easy to book as well. We spent a lot of time exploring Moab and the national parks and Andy provided us excellent recommendations on unique experiences to take advantage of. We have to give a huge shoutout to the incredible staff: - Summer, Miranda, Johnny, and Nur from the bar/restaurant staff - Andy, Courtney, Paola, Lita, and June from the operational/front desk team - The on-site wrangler, Chase - Erasmus and Mike from the activities team - Charlie and everyone from the housekeeping team - Da’Shawn from the spa We can’t wait to come back again!

Magical experience from the surroundings to the staff to the accommodations. We met lovely people from all over the globe. Took advantage of everything from horseback trail rides to UTV back country experiences. Would recommend to a friend. Serenity at its best. I look forward to a trip back with more family next time!

Google
Our experience was a huge disappointment. There was no alignment between the steep prices, and the service offered or the condition of the resort. The poor team members there were fighting an uphill battle as they were vastly understaffed and undertrained. The resort hasn’t seen a lick of capital investment in years. It was dirty. The quality was very low and the condition was terrible. The staff shared that the owner doesn’t care about repeat business. Please stay away and save yourself the disappointment.

We made a reservation five months ago. Within a week, we found out we needed to change our plan and cancel our reservation. I called customer service to cancel and they charged us a cancellation fee of 10% of the total reservation cost and called it a credit card processing fee. I questioned the fee and the customer service person agreed that it was too much. I asked to speak to a manager and they would not talk to me or call me back. I do not recommend making a reservation here. It’s located far from Moab and there are much nicer, newer and more convenient places to stay (along with better restaurants options). We ended up staying at the Hoodoo Hilton Curio and had an amazing stay there.

Sorrel has a lot of potential - the views are amazing! The grounds are lovely, the minimal staff that were onsite were extremely nice and trying their best. We went in June and the resort was not even half full. Our room was great, clean and a lot of amenities. The horseback riding was fantastic as well. The animals (pig, chickens, cats) that hung around the barn were so friendly and fun to engage with. Here are areas for improvements: 1) Communication - since booking back in the winter, we were given many different answers to questions about excursions, meal times, costs, etc. We booked an “adventure package” that came with two free horseback rides or hikes. The emails were confusing, so I called to clarify. The woman I spoke with, June, was unsure of some details and suggested I call a manager. When I called him, he was confused and answered assuming I was trying to join a zoom call he was currently on. He had to end our call quickly. Clearly he was caught off guard, not his fault. He called me back later and there was still some confusion on this call. For a high end resort it seems that there was a lot of “run around” on my part to get questions answered. Check out was confusing - after waiting at the desk for 15 min for a staff member to come back, she told me I had a balance of $327 but was not able to tell me what that was for and was unable to print me the bill. After we left, I was charged three separate charges totaling over $600. This required me to call the resort back to work through this, it took several phone calls until the questions and confusion was finally answered. Sorrel fixed the error and comped a meal for all the confusion which was appreciated. 2) Website: I hoped Sorrel would help us book tour - the website makes it appear that they do so. When I called June told us we have to book our own, but offered a few recommendations, but I did all the work. Meal times on the website were inaccurate. Breakfast was a question mark. Website said one thing, email said another, front desk said another - Paola (who was so sweet) at the front desk felt horrible for all the miscommunication about breakfast since we were on a time schedule to go meet a tour guide in town- when we returned she had a complimentary cheese plate in our room. Also the farm/community table was not in operation and the garden was not currently active, although prior to our trip the website made it appear as though it was. JJ Mercantile was just opening back up after being closed for a long time and a lot of miscommunication on timing and what they actually served here. 3) Dining: Dining area was lovely - the 2 servers were nice. However, menu was VERY limited and did not change during the time we were there. 4 entrees and 2 salad options which were all expensive. 4) Cost: Although Sorrel is listed as a 4 star hotel, they are charging 5 star prices without 5 star service and amenities. When paying $1200 a night, one would expect more staff available to answer questions and staff that knows the correct answers. There were "resort fees" but not a lot extra included for the cost. There was a 20% gratuity tacked onto everything, including bar/wine. We went horseback riding (Katie the wrangler was fantastic!). I was told by staff via email that gratuity was NOT included for this. I gave Katie a cash tip. At check out, I found out that I was charged for the 20% gratuity. Long story short, Sorrel is beautiful! However, they cannot continue to charge such high prices when their service does not align. We plan to come back to Moab again and would love to stay at the Sorrel again if they better align their cost with the services provided. I felt badly for a lot of their staff that were trying the best they could with what seemed like limited information, misinformation, and not enough help.

Yelp
My wife and I stayed here for 4 days and had a phenomenal experience. This was our first trip to Moab and we were all floored by the natural beauty driving in to Sorrel. The ranch feels like it was carved into the landscape - our room was right on the river, so we woke up to stunning sunrises lighting up the mesas each morning. The restaurant was great and we tried to mix it up each day. Much of the menu was from the on-property garden, which we both loved. And the staff went above and beyond to accommodate our requests and make us feel welcome. From the rooms, to the activities, to the food and beyond, it was a great trip from top to bottom. There's not another hotel/resorts quite like this in the US.

Yelp
DO NOT STAY HERE. This place is understaffed and falling apart. They charge exorbitant hidden fees that you will receive a week after your stay on top of the outrageously overpriced rooms. For over $1000 per night the service and resort should be impeccable - instead everything is broken or falling apart from the water fountains that don't work to the absolutely pathetic restaurant that will charge $30 for burnt eggs. This place is a joke. Don't fall for the 5-star reviews that seem to be fake. Why do they all mention several staff members by name? Doesn't it seem suspicious to you when every single five star review has lines like "Jeffrey was a dream, Jose at the bar was amazing, Mandy at the front desk was super helpful." Who is memorizing the name of the front desk person for a review??? I guarantee many of these reviews are fake. The grounds and location are beautiful but the resort itself is not worth the price. The staff is nice but has no idea what is going on and won't be able to answer any of your questions. You will receive an extra charge of at least $600 a week after you leave.

Karen K.

Yelp
We only had dinner at the restaurant. The view of the Colorado River is spectacular. The restaurant is beautiful. However the scarceness of the restaurant staff was disappointing. The menu is very pricey for the service you receive. It was apparent that the restaurant is understaffed and inexperienced. They were out of the first three things we tried to order. Finally ordered the chicken dish which was delicious. We would not return.

Kimberly S.

Yelp
We stopped here for dinner after hiking. The staff was wonderful and so was the server. The food was just meh. I had the $51 8oz filet medium that was over cooked but still tasted good. My husband had the $40 duck which was dry and overcooked. Drinks were pricey and one was great and other wasn't. The view is spectacular. We didn't stay here. I did see reviews that said the rooms were run down and apparently $895 and up for a night. They do add 20% gratuity on your bill(we were a party of 2) we didnt mind because our server really was nice.

Yelp
My family and I took our first official road trip vacation from Long Beach, CA into Utah this past June. We stayed at the Sorrel River Ranch as our first stop for three nights. Our stay was really great and we had a wonderful time. There's a lot to take in when you arrive. The scenery is seriously something out of a movie and it's nothing short of breath-taking. Our room had gorgeous views of all the mountains and was literally steps away from the Colorado River. Experiencing the sunrises and sunsets was absolutely amazing. When we arrived, we hit the Epic Bar for some cocktails to wind down and settle in. We ordered Old Fashioneds and they were excellent!! Kudos to the bartender for one the best drinks I've ever had! We had dinner at the River Grill one of the nights and it was wonderful. I enjoyed the veal shank atop asparagus and mixed greens. The veal was also a hearty size, which was nice. Of course, I paired the meal with another excellent Old Fashioned. All in all, Sorell was a great place to stay and we enjoyed our stay there. I'd recommend staying with them on your travels to Moab.

Yelp
We stayed for several days at this resort located in Moab, Utah. Unreal scenery and views. The resort is right on the river, and it's just as peaceful as anyone would hope for in a Canyon resort.. They had a great menu of food items. Nothing like eating a burger while looking out over the river and canyon. The staff could not have been more accommodating. Just a wonderful experience full of Jeep tours, jet boat canyon racing and hiking. And did I mention the scenery? HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

Bill S.

Yelp
You ever see a mirage? This surroundings are beautiful, the reality is a sham. Polished turd is a generous statement. I'd mention a dying horse but I wouldn't want you to get that confused with an actual dying horse.

Jerry P.

Yelp
The property is beautiful. We were given a tour of their garden by Mindy. She showed us all the fantastic produce used for the salads we would have later. The bartender was attentive and the drinks were imaginative. The atmosphere at the hotel and restaurant was excellent. We only came for dinner and the beautiful Scenery of the Colorado River, canyon walls and Mesas. . Had dinner here; Kevin Costner sometimes hangs out but not tonight. Fantastic food: Bison Ragu and Pappardelle, Venison Polenta and Wild Mushrooms. Goat cheese and beet salad from their garden. Our server, Nichole, was great, funny and a pleasure. Pro tip: Visit the Eutaw movie Museum at nearby Red Cliffs Lodge just a couple miles away. The Lodge restaurant and ranch look excellent too, but we did not get a chance to die in there

Yelp
This place feels sooo nice! The restaurant was empty when we arrived - we made a reservation for ten people. All the waitstaff were so nice and accommodating. I had the snapper and my husband had pheasant, most everyone had Caesar salads and elk and everything was really good. The potato side tasted like dessert! I wish they didn't have live music because we were there to socialize with one another and it was annoying to have to talk so loudly over the music to be heard. Even my five year old was begging to go downstairs where it was quieter - so definitely would have enjoyed it more without that. Staying here is like your own little oasis - the ranch has everything you need!

Jennifer D.

Yelp
Ate Thanksgiving dinner here, was a great meal, salad, soup, prime rib, Turkey, all the sides were great, especially the sweet potatoes. Only recommendation is they warm the rolls, they were cold, same with the pie, it too was cold, both are better warm. The cocktails were also great, saw deer beer a cabin, and the view was very pretty.

Yelp
Today was day 6 of our 7 days in Moab so we decided to treat ourself to a spa treatment... Tina was amazing and has a special way about the experience. We've love the Ranch and found it on happenstance as we were driving out 128 for a hike and adventure. We've been 3 different occasions as the food and atmosphere is incredible. We weren't guests but everyone has made us feel like we were. Thanks to all the wait staff at the restaurant, to Sade at the front desk, to Tina at the spa and to the folks at the mercantile that make the BEST sandwiches ever!!

Ilse V.

Yelp
This review is only based on restaurant experience. I have been to Moab a few times and have always driven past Sorrel River Ranch, so it was inevitable that I would eventually end up here. I felt that since my mom is visiting me from Belgium, this was the perfect moment. I called up to make a reservation and we were all set. Upon arrival, we parked at the reception and the friendly staff escorted us upstairs to the restaurant. All windows offer a beautiful view on the river. The interior decoration was thought out to perfection; gorgeous combination between barn and modern life. Our waitress, Melissa, took excellent care of us the entire evening. We felt she was genuinely interested in the conversations we had, but also left us some privacy during dinner. The menu is absolutely to die for. All dishes are locally farmed and included a nice, gamy selection including wagyu beef, duck, elk, etc. They also have plenty of scrumptious desserts to choose from such as sorbet, cheesecake, creme brulee etc. We could not have had a more wonderful experience, and we are thankful for all the effort the staff puts into this place. I would love to stay here one day!

Yelp
This place has an amazing setting but unfortunately for our stay that was quickly overshadowed by the lack of service from staff, lack of food services because they did not state their main restaurant that overlooks the Colorado River is under renovation as well as a complete lack of transparency on the website and in communications with the resort about extra charges and fees for just about everything. When we politely and repeatedly asked for clarifications about multiple charges that were incorrect and charges (20% service charge on everything and that is in addition to the 4.57% transient room tax, 6.85% room sales tax and 12% resort fee) - we were given a many excuses, confused looks as they didn't understand. We were very patient but we finally understood that the confused looks they gave us were intentional to make the guests feel silly for questioning their charges. We were charged for the wrong group sizes and activities we didn't even go on. We understand state mandated taxes but the service charge of 20% that was not ever shown to us during booking the resort and adventure is within the control of the resort. At the end of the day you really feel like they take advantage of their guests. We stayed at many 5 star resorts and this by far does not come close to the level of service and transparency you would expect. I didn't even get into the quality of the actual cabins which were average for the price tag. It is a shame for a place that has a unique setting I would highly suggest looking other places. Another family that left the day before we did had the same feedback and experience.

Yelp
Just returned from a perfect getaway in Moab. The ranch was exactly what I didn't know I needed! It has everything to complete a vacation. Stunning views pool/hot tub animals and excellent food and staff! Finished out my stay with 80 minute massage that totally rejuvenated me. I'll be back!

Jill S.

Yelp
I unfortunately need to write this on yelp after getting no response by phone or email from management. I did leave a message with the front desk on Thursday 4/29 and never received a call back. I also submitted the feedback form that was emailed to me and again received no call back. I also responded to an email form them regarding my folio I requested and gave them this feed back and still no response. I was trying to avoid submitting a yelp review as I saw how many negative reviews they had. We travel a lot and have been to fancy places and not so fancy places. Many years ago I drove by Sorrel River Ranch and I thought it was amazing looking. I looked it up and saw the reviews and they were outstanding and I could not wait to go. So this year we had some time and needed to get away and decided on Sorrel River. Unfortunately, our expectations were not met. Let's start with this, I usually do not have huge exceptions when I go places, for the very reason, not to be disappointed. But between the reviews from years ago and the price per night, I had higher exceptions than usual. Whoever hired their front desk staff did a good job on their personalities. I thought every one was very pleasant and wanted to please. But after the hiring, I believe the staff were not supported in their training. The lack of training and knowledge was very frustrating. We pretty much had to figure out when meals were served on our own, where the dining room was, where the spa was. No one gave us an introduction to anything on the property, we basically just stumbled around until we found it. The answer we got a lot was "I just started last week." No one knew about any of the hikes or activities that they had HAND WRITTEN on their chalkboard. No handouts on schedules, everything was supposed to be online, but we had a hard time pulling anything up. The menu was limited. Breakfast was great, but the food in the dining room was average and the staffing was inadequate. First night we wanted to eat and we had a reservation at 8pm because that was all that was available. We went up to dining room to see if we could get in earlier. There was only two tables that had 2 people each and they could not seat us because they were expecting a table of 12 and they only had one wait staff on a Saturday night. The dining room manager was very accommodating and arranged for us to be able to eat our meal in the bar and brought our food down to us. He seemed very stressed. The room was very nice and they did a nice job cleaning, though they did not empty the garbage or refill the coffee. We had to request more toilet paper and coffee. Dianne at the barn was AMAZING! She was very informed and able to share a lot of information and we had a great trail ride with her. But she also was not a seasonal employee and had been there for over two years. I can not say enough about Dianne. If it were not for her and the amazing trail ride we did with her, I would be giving a one star. The real clincher on our frustrating trip was we got up at 4:30am on Thursday 4/29 to be at airport for our Hot Air Balloon ride that we had been so excited for as it was the first time for both of us. We arrived at 6am and they had no reservation for us and the basket was full. I had made this reservation months in advance! I even had front desk email them on that Monday when we were thinking about seeing if could change to Wednesday. The balloon ride was on our itinerary and we had a discussion with front desk staff on when to be at the airport and that we would leave from the airport to SLC from there. I called front desk at 6am on that Thursday as we were left at the airport in shock  and told them all of this and that I needed a manager to call me. Though they were very apologetic and said they'd make sure someone would call, no one ever called to follow up. Actually there was no follow up on anything. Which, again, for  luxury resort that they are trying to be, follow ups to visits should be a norm. I did submit the feedback form with a ONE star and still no one followed up. I am extremely disappointed in the management at this point. I believe the employees try, but without training and support, you will continue to get low ratings on yelp and I would think at some point the owner of the resort will see the decline in the resort and the reviews that you are getting. I hope you take this for what it is intended in helping you structure, train, and support your seasonal employees to create a better experience for your guests.

Liz R.

Yelp
This place is amazing! The views are spectacular. Our room is facing the Colorado River and I get to sip my coffee and just sit and watch the river. Zen to the extreme! Went for a horseback ride last night at 7pm. Stunning scenery and George was a fantastic wrangler. He talked about the history of Moab and was just a really great guy. If you're looking for a serene getaway, this will be right up your alley!

Zachary J.

Yelp
We stayed 2 nights in the Family Suite. It was amazing with our two kids having their own beds and being upstairs. We ate dinner both nights and breakfast both mornings and I can't say enough about how great the service was and the food was amazing. Also desserts to die for. Highly highly recommend this place. Hospitality throughout the ranch was amazing.

Cee S.

Yelp
Costco Burgers, over cooked and over priced at 24. Chicken sandwich is too hard. Soda is $2 per refill. Fries are cold af. Go to Moab instead cheaper and a lot nicer.

Patti F.

Yelp
We stayed here in October 2016 in room C5. Overall, we really enjoyed the hotel- it was relaxing and scenic. Here were our impressions: The positive: -Although not super spacious, the standard mountain view rooms are clean and well-maintained. They have a small kitchen area with sink, mini fridge, and microwave. Each room has a small deck with porch swing -The bed and sheets were very comfortable -Beautiful grounds, with the Colorado River in your own backyard and gorgeous views of surrounding red rocks -After a lot of research, we found this to be the nicest hotel in the Moab area -Private hiking trail for guests only, an easy 1 hour roundtrip -Some fun activities for kids: petting zoo daily at 1pm, s'mores by the fire each evening (both are complimentary) -One of the staff, Freddie, stood out for his excellent service and willingness to share information about the hotel and local attractions -While some might see this as an inconvenience, the hotel is secluded and 30 minutes away from the main Moab tourist area. The drive on 128 to Sorrel River Ranch is quite breathtaking during the day, although it is very dark at night so you need to drive carefully! Areas for improvement: -No turndown service. For a resort charging such rates, I would expect turndown service -Price is high for what the resort offers. We compared this hotel to Enchantment in Sedona, which had more amenities, more polished customer service, and was less expensive -Wifi was pretty weak in our room -My husband noted in the reservation we were celebrating our anniversary, but the staff did not comment or leave a card/note in our room upon arrival -It would be great to have a few activities included in the nightly rate (e.g. yoga class in the morning or stargazing at night) -Breakfast at the hotel restaurant was pricey and underwhelming -Parking area is not super convenient. You have to walk down the driveway to get to the rooms Sorrel River has the potential to be an outstanding resort, especially considering the amazing setting and extensive grounds (160 acres of ranch land with spa, petting zoo with chickens, pigs, horses, etc.) I hope the management takes their customer feedback into consideration!

Yoav S.

Yelp
A great escape!!! We spend a week here and loved every moment of it. You MUST go on a jeep tour (private) with Jeff to "Hell's revenge", do a ATV afternoon drive, a private horseback riding and to top it all - a massage with Alex. Great food, friendly staff and super nice accommodations! We will be back!

Will A.

Yelp
While we can give some latitude for services and staffing due to pandemic related causes, we were very disappointed in the value for the price. There was a general lack of attention to details overall. At this price range, the little things really do matter. Dinners were over priced with poor quality food and preparation. Rooms were tired and need refurbishing and upgrading. Staff was poorly trained, largely inattentive and inconsistent.

Carl-andre R.

Yelp
The setting and scenery of this place couldn't be more perfect. It's absolutely stunning. Almost worth a visit JUST for that alone. We made a Saturday night sunset dinner reservation for that reason, which unfortunately was super disappointing. The drinks list is extremely limited, only a few cocktails and a handful of average Wines by the glass - all around the $20+ mark. Complete rip off The entrees were between $40-$90 and really basic and lacked flavor. The trout was almost certainly cooked in the microwave and had ZERO flavor. The rice it came with was not even cooked properly. Still hard. Tried to finish it as I was starving but just couldn't. Ordered a side of Brussel sprouts which was burnt to a crisp. It was like ash. Lol. The prawn cocktail was so stale and rubbery you could bounce it off the floor. $170+tip for 2 drinks, 2 entrees and an appetizer & side. I'd pay this for quality which was completely missing in this case. The one star is for the scenery alone. Dining experience would get zero. Disappointing for sure.

James C.

Yelp
This review is based on the overpriced restaurant. Absolutely not worth the trip from Moab. We had a terrible experience. Our waitress knew nothing about the menu, the service was very slow, we sent 2 entrees back (cold Wagu steak!), and the wine selection was subpar. Food was not "farm fresh". The restaurant did not apologize for our terrible experience. Save yourself time and money - Stay in Moab.

Tyler M.

Yelp
Like everyone else says, the scenery is almost worth the price of admission. Almost. Wouldn't come back. Nobody knew what the hell was going on and the restaurant staff are really really weird. In fact the whole resort staff remind us of home schooled kids learning to socialize for the first time. Food was meh and sooooo expensive (I'm not cheap). For your trouble they also add a 20% gratuity to everything. Our sense is there are some super greedy and cheap owners behind the whole scene. Cabins in need of repair. Finally, can't prove it, but pretty sure they stole 2 of our jackets. The bright spot was the horseback riding. Great guides and drop dead gorgeous views. Bottom line: when you're charging these prices, your consumers are expecting four seasons service. You're not going to her that here.

Yelp
Amazing wonderful location with wonderful restaurant directly at the river Horses and many other animals that come straight to you Nice spacious cabins Large open view property with beautiful landscape Pathetic customer service , this is very expensive location where Boone greets you or cares you are there Front desk is nice but clueless and when we asked to talk to manager he was at the meeting 2 days in the row .... maybe with his psychologist:) You really need a serious help if you are going to price your salads at $14 and serve 9leafs half tomato and 4 spoons of grains ?? Are you guys kidding me ? People around us was whispering "rip off"

Yelp
A beautiful property!! Had a delicious dinner with the family our last night in Moab. Definitely worth it and will likely stay at the resort next visit. An amazing place!!

Yelp
Ok, this is an expensive overnight stay. Maybe you can find a better stay for less money. But we found the place just "amazing" the kids loved it (petting zoo, complimentary pony rides, tennis court, pool, ping pong table). The river view is great (but the mountain view is even better in my opinion). Mojito at the pool was perfect.

Yelp
Spent three wonderful days at the ranch. It is a stunning location next to the Colorado river and surrounded by towering mesas. Enjoyed our UTV tour with Scout. Lots of fun! My husband loved the horseback riding with Biscuit and Rooster. Food and staff excellent.

Yelp
What an incredible place from beginning to end!! Just the location right on the Colorado looking right at the Red Cliffs!!

Yelp
Yes the location is fabulous and the property and rooms are great. Disappointing were the TV, antiques really blocked from viewing by the bed posts, the incompetent dinner help trying so hard to be upscale. If you're in the country, act country. Please don't be snooty and ridiculous Its also a bit of a drive from town. When this property first opened, it was fantastic, needs a refreshing for sure..

Yelp
Overpriced and underrated property in a beautiful location. Really sad that the prices charged for the service, quality of rooms and cleanliness are completely misguided. Website is deceiving. Cobwebs in the room, wrinkled carpet, filthy pool deck and outdoor furniture falling apart to name some of the obvious shortcomings. I sent three emails ahead of time to the linked email on the website regarding hikes and suggestions etc. Never had one response. I'd rank this as 3 star at best with potential to be 4+ -5 star with appropriate management team.

Yelp
Beautiful resort. Quiet. Setting is tranquil. The entire staff is amazing. They treat each guest as though they are family. The Jeep tour & sunrise horseback trail ride, made this relaxing vacation an adventure. It was my first trip to Moab, UT. We cannot wait to visit again and see all the beautiful ideas implemented of the equestrian management and expansion of the guest cabins.

Yelp
Truly an oasis amongst miles of desert. On a recent weekend trip to Moab, my gentleman friend and I compromised and agreed to one night of sleeping in a tent and a second at a resort of his [impeccable] choosing. Personally, I think I got the better end of the deal. After 24 hours of car-camping, hiking, and general not-so-roughing it, we were thrilled to be back among a seemingly-endless supply of water on the ranch. Dunking in the glorious pool that we had to ourselves nearly the entire time, with a view of the river, followed by a long bath back at the room in our claw-foot tub. The ambiance throughout the entire property and the view from our 2nd story suite was tranquil. Note to self: next time we want to request a porch swing to enjoy the view of the river. I only wish we had more time to enjoy their abundance of amenities and excursions. The grounds are kept well and the staff went above and beyond to suit our whimsy. *Minus one star for a particularly unpleasant blonde seating hostess at brunch Sunday morning. I am guessing this is the same lump of coal that is criticized in a few other Yelp reviews; how she is still on staff baffles me.

Yelp
We came just for dinner. The service was impeccable. Our server folded my napkin while I was using the restroom -- a kind of attention to detail we've experienced at Michelin Star rated restaurants. He was very attentive throughout our meal. The trout was great; the chicken slightly dry but the skin was delicious and crispy. The Chardonnay was good, the red wine overpriced for what we got. I would think the bottle would be priced about the amount we paid for a glass.

Yelp
Exactly as promised, killer room right on the Calorado river. Photography of amazing bluffs, sunrises and stars right Of of the patio. Hospitality was really great, stayed late as our drive in ran long as well as accommodated our 80lbs bulldog with no questions asked. Rooms were immaculate and well appointed. Highlight of the resort is environment and Spa. The massage therapists were professional and technically adept, really world class. Location to hiking, Jeeping activities etc is perfect and the keeps you away from the crowded main streets of Moab. Will 100% be returning.

Yelp
We were a large party that stayed here for two nights. In general it was nice to use as a home base and the rooms across the pool from the lobby seemed to be the better ones talking to the people in our group. Service was okay and the food was mixed. On our first night we had a sit down meal where they placed us upstairs. It was warm in the room (yes, it was summer time) and the odd thing on top of this was the fireplace was on. WTF? Anyway, the second night BBQ buffet was actually quite good. Eating outside along the river front was very nice after the sun went down. WiFi is slow but usable and unless you have better luck than I cell phones are generally useless anywhere on property.

Yelp
VERY expensive and not worth the price. Rooms are okay, views wonderful, but, the costs far outweigh the benefits. For example, the limited dining menu is exorbitant. $85 for a steak! $32 for a salad. $12 wine for $68. Plus at $800 for a room with no river view. Ouch.

Yelp
The ranch is beautiful and family friendly. You can't beat the views. The room was amazing. Bathroom was beautiful! Bed was comfortable! My husband is an early riser so he really enjoyed sitting on the front porch to start the day. When it comes to prices....I think Places to stay in Moab are overpriced in general. I would definitely avoid eating at the ranch.

Yelp
The views are stunning and the staff is very nice. The amenities are a plenty, temps courts, basketball, animals and anymore but Not a 4 star resort. Visited the 1st week into season and the restaurant was not ready for guests. Food is mediocre and slow to come out. Quite a few of staff didn't know about the property or surroundings. Might seem petty but how can no one know the name of the mountain right in front. Yoga wasn't available and no bikes to make navigating the property easier. We paid peak season prices so they should of been fully ready.

Yelp
Unfortunately we have had to cancel our travel plans due to a medical emergency. I have spoken to every other hotel we booked for our trip out west and they have been wonderful in understanding our situation. Sorrel River Ranch, however, told me that no cancellation would be accepted without a doctors note. I just left my third message for Sorrel River Ranch's manager and hopefully I will get a response. The avoiding of phone calls is getting a little old.

Yelp
I had such a fantastic and relaxing experience at Sorrel River Ranch this week! It was an incredible experience! Such a refreshing balance of relaxation and new adventures! My favorite part was touring the garden. Daniel and Melissa were so kind to stop what they were doing to show me all around the garden. I learned so much about growing fresh produce that go straight to the local restaurant! They were both so kind and fun! The restaurant experience was equally as wonderful! I had a delightful, banana bread French toast for breakfast the next day. Delicious! My server, Cassidy was so kind and funny! Although I dined alone, she made me feel so at home and welcomed. I'll definitely come back to Sorrel River Ranch next time I visit Moab!

Yelp
I was so excited to visit this highly marketed resort/ranch on our first-time visit to Moab. It sounded so fabulous in the advertisements and on their website. I had hoped to stay there, but the over $900 room rate with a 2-night minimum was out of our budget so we decided to instead have dinner there as a special occasion for my birthday. It was a long, winding road to drive to the resort, but the 21 miles was stunning as we drove just below the red rocks of Arches National Park. The resort too could not be at a more gorgeous location with stunning red cliffs surrounding the property, along with the slow swirling Colorado River just steps away. When we drove up to Valet, there was no person around to park our car, so we self-parked. A hostess was very friendly in greeting us and took us to the main resort area. This area was rustic and not nearly as elegant as anticipated. We arrived early to have time for a cocktail in the main room overlooking the river. The first thing I noticed was the lack of attention to detail. The windows looking out over the river were spotted and streaked. The cocktail crystal glass my drink was served in had water spots on the foot of the glass. And, there were many flies fluttering around landing here and there on our table, including one beating me to my martini olive before I could get there. After drinks, we went to the second floor for dinner. The wine by the glass list had little to choose from and nothing of interest for such a pricy restaurant so we passed. I ordered trout, my husband had a very large bone-in pork chop. We were further disappointed when our food arrived. My trout dish had absolutely zero flavor, no sauce and although cooked properly, it was tasteless. We ordered a side of creamy polenta and it came full of lumps, and again flavorless. My husband's pork was cooked to his liking and he enjoyed that dish. His green beans on the other hand could not be cut with a fork as they were practically raw. Again, a number of flies were present. The server came back well after the proper time to check on guests and at that point I sent back my entree. She apologized. Then, related that the day before one of the corporate vice president's had visited the resort and sent his food back too, remarking that "the dish had no flavor." During our time there, we observed at least two other tables near us where the customers were complaining about the food quality and saw things being sent back. My entree was removed from the final check. The manager on duty never came over to discuss or apologize for the meal. We were approached as we were leaving by a front desk agent who was sympathetic after we explained what had occurred. In retrospect, I am glad that we did not book a room at this property because based on what I saw, we would have been further disappointed and out a tremendous amount of money. This is a very family-oriented resort with lots of children running around, and very casual attire in the restaurant. With an average bill of $150 for 2 guests, this was not the experience we were expecting. We will not be returning to dine at this overly priced property again. It is too bad as the resort definitely has potential, but it was clear staff had not been trained properly and the pricing structure does not match luxury and expectations.

Yelp
This place is perfection on the Colorado river! Beautiful resort with delicious food, friendly staff, tons of activity options and lots of fun activities for kids! (Feeding the animals at the farm, rafting, swimming, western riding lessons, trail rides, pony rides for little ones, s'mores, the list goes on!) I'm so happy we found this place and made it our last stop on our summer road trip! It is the perfect family getaway. We can't wait to come back!

Yelp
The location is beautiful and there is so much potential. Unfortunately during our stay at 5-star prices, a 5-star experience was not on offer. The facility is in desperate need of some TLC - refurbishments and upgrades to the grounds and the accommodations. The staff was all very pleasant but there were varying degrees of professionalism and attention to detail, which created confusion on the hefty administrative fees that were charged for arranging activities - this was in addition to the resort fee. This was a first for me. The food I had was good but expensive and no meals were included with the nightly rate. In general my biggest issue was value - I expected more for what I paid. Their rates are comparable to top hotels in the world, but the product isn't.

Yelp
The setting is 5+ stars, but the service is staggeringly awful. I had 6 rooms averaging $700/nt and we were all stunned by the consistently poor service. From the moment we checked in and wanted to change to room assignments within our group only to be told that the front desk representative 'spent a lot of time getting the rooms assigned'. We were told the rooms would be ready in a half hour. An hour later they were still making excuses. Four of us went to their restaurant which is set on the river. Truly breathtaking. We ordered off the lunch menu. 45 minutes later, the waiter was explaining that the sausages in two of our orders were taking longer to cook (they were frozen). When we finally got our lunch, the sausages were cold and raw in the middle. The 'Ploughman's Lunch' was pathetic. Several of my colleagues had the same experience that I did with my room - housekeeping only made beds and failed to remove room service dishes and did not service the bathrooms. Service in the restaurants was frustratingly and consistently slow, yet dinner and drinks for five of us was $1,000. I spoke to two different European visitors who were expressing frustrations and disappointments during their stay. I hope that the relatively new ownership learns that the beautiful setting is not enough to keep guests coming back when service is so poor and prices are so high.

Yelp
We booked a room for one night (which they don't normally do, but they made an exception for us). The rate was $429 + tax and fees (?) and totaled $505. We expected extreme luxury for that price. We have both stayed at five start hotels in Aspen, Telluride and other places and had a very good idea of what we would be getting for that price. While this is normally far above our price range, we thought we would splurge for one night and pamper ourselves, maybe do some yoga, etc. We had been mountain biking all day and were filthy and in need of a hot tub soak. When we arrived and checked in, we pulled up to the Valet sign and there was no one in sight. We went in and found what appeared to be two very young employees behind the front desk. While the front desk clerk was very pleasant, she informed us that the hot tub was out of service until the following day. We were disappointed, but thought we could just relax by the pool or the river instead. No one offered to take our bags to our room. We were told we could pull up to the room, unload and go park the car in the parking lot (which was about a 10 minute walk from the room)! We got to our room and were completely shocked. We had stayed in more luxurious rooms at Best Westerns! The room was extremely small. The TV was on with the most horrible music (it wasn't even country and western, it was more like bad old spaghetti western music). The front door opened smack into one of the chairs at the little dinette set. The windows were large and offered great views of the valley, but because the blinds opened from the bottom up (instead of the top down) you could not have them opened and have any privacy at all. I went to take a shower and found that the bath tub and surround in this $500/nt. room was plastic! The fixtures were mis-matched and very low end, as were most of the finishes in the room. You could tell they attempted to make it "look" luxurious, but when you looked closely, you could see that everything was sub-standard. After I finished the shower, I found that the robes were located in a cabinet IN THE KITCHEN! I called the front desk and told her girl (presumably the one who checked us in) that we were apalled by discrepancy in the cost of the room vs. what we got for it. She offered to "upgrade" us to a river view room which was normally $100 / nt. more. I told her that unless it was drastically more luxurious than the room we were in, we weren't interested. She then, very graciously, offered to give us a refund and call a cabin hotel up the road to check their availability. We decided we would rather take our chance back in Moab. She emailed me a receipt for a full refund immediately and we left without having to hassle with going back to the front desk. Again, the front desk clerk was extremely accomodating, pleasant and helpful. The grounds are beautiful, but they have no business charging anything close to that rate for their rooms. Aside from the lack of privacy in the rooms with the blinds open, I would happily stay there for $175-200 / nt. and feel like I got my money's worth. We ended up staying at the Gonzo Inn in a poolside room for $150/nt. and were infinitely happier. We also had a great stay at the Stella Ruby Cottages several nights before. We would go back to either of those places in a heartbeat.

Yelp
I wrote an extensive review of this spa after my husband and I spent our very disappointing honeymoon there. I see that it has been removed. Trust every negative review on this Yelp Page. I thought I was diplomatic about my review, citing both the good and the bad. I even read a response from the manager detailing some of my concerns and improvements they had made since my visit. When I went on Yelp to review the ranch before my wedding, I saw many positive reviews and was surprised when I actually got there. It was not at all what i had read about. Terrible food, service is lacking, outrageous prices including a pretentious rule of adding 18% gratuity to EVERY purchase with additional line for tip, and definitely not 5 stars. Now, I know why since I see that my original review is now missing. Beware of this ranch. It is in need of a major overhaul before it is worth the outrageous money they ask for a stay there.

Yelp
My fellow yelpers are "trippin" on this one. The Sorrel River Ranch has the nicest setting of any hotel in america. It is utterly beautiful. Cowboy sunsets against the red rock and a slowly flowing river while you rock back and forth on your swing in front of your room. The rooms are large, clean and spacious. No details are left to chance. As far as the price I can see where people are upset. The Sorrel River Ranch has the market cornered on luxury hotels in the Moab area. They are the equivalent of the gas station next to the airport rental car return. That being said, I don't think it's outrageously priced at all. The views and the activities make this place worth the price. If you are just stopping in to sleep while you go do other stuff, then it is overpriced. If you take advantage of all the hotel guided activities then it's well worth it.
