The first time I came with my brother I had a great experience and the food was amazing, however this time was incredibly disappointing. I had booked a table for me and my partner to eat for my birthday and it took over an 1hr and 20 minutes to get our food. I work in a Michelin star restaurant and I am very understanding of the results of a kitchen overwhelmed with orders, however this wasn’t that. A family of three were able to come in 20 minutes after we had ordered
and : sit, order, eat, pay and leave whilst we had to wait an additional 30 minutes to receive our food. Another three couples who had come in after us were served before us. Again, I understand not every business has a perfect and orders may sometimes have mishaps especially when there are takeaways as well as sit in orders, however this wasn’t that. When our food finally came we just asked to have it boxed to take home due to how unwelcome we felt. I then expressed my grievances with one of the waitresses who was very polite and understanding when I told her that due the wait, we wouldn’t be paying, as again, I work in hospitality and as a rule of thumb making any sit down customer wait upwards of an hour to eat their food deserves some sort of compensation to satisfy the customer. However the second waitress I spoke to when trying to explain why we weren’t going to be paying was incredibly rude and told us we could have ‘at least left the pizza’ as if we didn’t wait the time that we did and miss out on the plans we had. She then told us to just take the food and not come back. I understand that it was a busy night and it was possibly understaffed, but that is not an excuse.
