How a Bike Crash Forced Eater’s Critic to Grapple With Dining in a Wheelchair | Eater NY

"Friends ferried sandwiches from a terrific sub shop called Sorrento’s in Long Beach, and those sandwiches were a reliable bright spot during my stay." - Robert Sietsema

Small, intimate, and fantastic. The food is fresh, flavorful, and top notch! Deliciousness at its best! The portions were gigantic as well. The service was amazing. Taylor was outstanding. She gave fantastic recommendations, and it was obvious she loved working at this very special place. Brianne and Kelly were wonderful as well. All three made it feel like they were fully invested and that it was their family restaurant, even though it wasn't. The pride that they had in this establishment was genuine and so terrific. I hope the owners know what gems they have. I loved this dining experience and can't wait to return! Btw....it's bring your own alcohol....

On Long Island, if there’s one thing we don’t have a shortage of its Italian delis. Some are good, most are decent, but Sorrento’s blows them ALL out of the water. This hidden gem in the west end of Long Beach is serving up some of the BEST sandwiches I’ve ever had. The steak sandwich special is unreal and probably the best steak sandwich I’ve ever eaten. We also got the chicken francese hero on garlic bread, which was equally as mindblowing. The line may be long, but don’t let it scare you. Everyone that works there is SO kind and so helpful. The owner is so chill and a great guy! So personable. We also tried their sweet chili chicken tenders, which were so delicious and flavorful, as well as their mixed vegetables and rice balls. Everything was delicious. You must try it!!

Very authentic Italian restaurant. We loved everything that we tried. Service was excellent. Little odd working hours.

Verrrrry good chicken Parmesan I got over here. It was like $18 but the size of a football. I ate half and kept the other half for later. Very good sauce, cheese, chicken cutlet, and bread. Highly recommend trying this place as the quality of everything looks to be pretty incredible.

After recovering from a fire sorrento’s moved a few blocks over and closer to the beach. It has expanded and the pastries are back. The pizza was better than i remember. I look forward to trying the entrees next time.

I got an italian hero! It was very good and very balsamicy! No veggies besides peppers which felt odd but actually wasnt really missed. The meats all tasted great and good quality! Planning on trying the pizza next time

Can't wait to go back! We had 2 slices of pizza and they were Z-best. They had an amazing counter of prepared food, including cutlets, eggplant, pizza etc. Apparently, they are also known for delicious sandwiches and heroes..We are looking forward to going back next time we're in Long Beach.
