The Cocktail Heatmap: The Best Places to Drink in Denver This Summer | Eater Denver

"Rest assured this place has got nothing to be sorry for. From the posh decor in hues of green and blue to the rooftop deck with views for miles, it’s indeed gorgeous — and so are the classy drinks, be it a martini riff with manzanilla sherry and pastis or an original creation like the No Left Turn with mezcal, Suze, celery soda, lemon, and hibiscus salt. Fancy snacks like truffled popcorn or chips with crab dip, pistachio guacamole, and salsa roja complete the picture." - Eater Staff

The Best Denver, Colorado Bars | Eater Denver

"From the plush emerald banquettes beneath moon-like pendant lights to the views from its 12th-story balcony, this penthouse lounge in the Novel RiNo building is a stone-cold stunner — and the drinks live up to the vibe, whether infused with saffron gin and rose water or honey gin and bee pollen, alongside luxe snacks like truffle-parmesan popcorn and flatbread with creamed leeks and Castelvetrano olives. (For a similarly sexy experience, check out Sorry Gorgeous’ two Cherry Creek siblings: the Latin-themed, rum-soaked Ay Papi and Forget Me Not, where a party’s always waiting to happen in a former florist’s shop.)" - Ruth Tobias

I recently celebrated my birthday at Sorry Gorgeous, and it was truly unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel like VIPs. They were welcoming, attentive, and went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect for me and my guests. The rooftop views of Denver were absolutely stunning—especially at sunset. It was the perfect backdrop for a special night out. We ordered a custom charcuterie board that was beautifully done and perfectly portioned for our group, with high-quality meats and cheeses. The cocktails were spectacular—crafted with care and full of flavor. The DJ kept the energy up all night with great music, and the vibe was lively but classy. Everyone at the bar seemed to be having a great time. If you're looking for a stylish, fun, and elevated place to celebrate a special occasion in Denver, Sorry Gorgeous is it. Highly, highly recommend!

Google
Such a co rooftop bar in Denver. Loved the space, loved the vibes, the staff is helpful, and they have great music there. All the drinks are amazing and they have tasty snacks. Def would come here for the view too. This is a must visit place is you are on the area.

Went for a cute date night with my boyfriend on a Thursday night and it was such a vibe! They were playing r&b, and of course some 90 classics that night. Dee served us and she was amazing! She answered any of our questions and recommended the sparkling diamonds which was delicious! She did say during the weekends it’s more of a club vibe which I can absolutely see with a dj. Definitely coming back here again!

Google
Denver, Colorado, boasts one of the best cityscapes views, and this place offers a chill vibe. Weeknights are relatively slow, but Friday and night can get packed with a DJ. They serve food, but I haven’t tried it yet. The staff is very friendly and kind. I discovered this place through a social group because I’m in Denver. If you’re feeling adventurous, check out “TimeLeft.” You can have dinner with strangers, then have an after-party and an after-after-party at this bar. I’d give it a solid 10 out of 10 and hope to see you there! **Please Note: at night they are STRICT about having proof of identification 🪪 or the MyColorado App For your 🆔.

This rooftop bar is for the baddies run by baddies!! An amazing vibe to get together and have great consistent drinks and good food. The view is unique and incredible.

Great drinks, the staff was above and beyond. The dj when we went was amazing! But barely anyone was dancing. I’m not from Denver, so I’m not sure if that’s just the vibe in there or if the people there are averse to dancing. But overall great time!

Visited on a dreary day so the view was not the best (oh Mother Nature!) but super friendly service, fantastic bites…and vibes even for an afternoon. Crispy tacos were fab!!

Went with my friend and we had such a fun night! This place is perfect if you’re looking to grab some drinks, dance and enjoy the beautiful rooftop view. The music is always great. One of my favorite spots in Denver for a night out!

Yelp
A cool rooftop bar with a great view of the Denver skyline!! I will say that I only stopped in for 1 drink, saw the skyline, and then left - so take my opinion with a grain of salt. I thought the service was "okay" - the staff was very interested in their own conversations. They're clearly friends, which on one hand is a pro, but on the other - I was trying to ask a question and get a drink. The ambiance both inside and outside was great! I also thought the drinks were good. Would still return!

Yelp
I really liked sorry gorgeous, it's a lovely rooftop bar! I came on a Friday evening for happy hour and had two drinks, both of which were stronger than I really was hoping for after a day of hikes BUT they were still pretty good. I was checked in on frequently by the waitresses, and they were helpful with recs. I had a nice table right by the window so I had a gorgeous view of downtown denver and the mountains in the distance. The bathrooms here are immaculate too! The parking situation was a little weird but I ended up in a lot just to the right of the actual entrance. There weren't any pay signs but I went into the attached upscale apartment lobby and two of the staff told me it's ok to park in that lot for sorry gorgeous. I had no issues there. One thing that was a little odd is when I got the receipt there was a 20% service charge that says it all goes toward an even split for all the staff, but my waitress immediately told me that charge actually is kept by the business and not a tip? I left a tip because of that but after I read the fine print later I'm not quite sure that was right... but maybe I misread the receipt or something. In any case, overall I dug this cute little upscale rooftop bar, it's lovely for a solo drink, or of course a night with friends/date. Would def come back :)

Yelp
My friends and I were excited to try this new cocktail bar but we were in for a rude awakening. When we made our way to the host stand we had asked for a table, unfortunately there wasn't a table available due to reservations - okay no big deal, so we made our way to the standing room by the bar. When we make it to the bar, they immediately try to collect all of our barstools. We had asked the worker if we could keep one stool for our friend who is on crutches with a torn ACL. She had the biggest attitude and told us there was room for him to sit outside. Mind you - it was 40 degrees. The bartender was also extremely rude when we had asked what was in blank cocktail and she told us to open the book in front of us. Unfortunately this will be our first and last time here. If you're thinking about going here - think again!

Yelp
Cool view - vibe is neat but drinks are overpriced. $20 for a drink (base careful they tack on an auto gratuity but don't mention anything about it) in a rooftop bar in Denver. That being said the drinks were solid, surprisingly potent and the view was great. Service was a little slow though- I am imagine it was a function of how busy the space was. Feels like a quasi bottle service joint with tables and limited menu for ordering, think small plates. This would be a cool place to do a bachelor/ette party.

Yelp
Drew, Nick and especially Nayeli, but not to mention the hostess Reyna are really great in customer service. Recommended. Not only for the view, but you'll get treated right.

Yelp
I'm a fan. This is a rooftop cocktail bar with one of the best Denver Skylines. It's not a huge place but there have a lot of outdoor seating. I would opt for the velvet couches but the bar was lively too. It's a small menu with N.A. options without me asking with a very very small snack menu. I don't know if all the pairings of cocktails and food make sense but I like the vibe. Tips: 1) Park at the novel garage bc it's for shops too 2) It's in the Novel building so do not be thrown off from the residential exterior 3) make a reservation if u want a window seat view 4) great for medium size groups and date nights Put on something sexy and take yourself back to an art deco decor.

Yelp
Excellent rooftop view from the northern most point of RiNo. Its a ways up at 40th if you're in the RiNo area having drinks. 3p open most Frii-Sun evenings and they do take reservations. We got in without a reservation but was only 3p and worked out in our favor. The waitress was very knowledgeable on the menu. Hipster fresh vibe with most of their mixers being made in house. Drinks focus a lot on clear alcohols made in a speakeasy style craft cocktail fashion. Great view of downtown as well as the mountains. A place thats worth going out of the way to try with a less busy vibe than areas of downtown.

Yelp
I like the vibe and views, definitely will be a hot spot in the summer. The stools seem very uncomfortable so definitely go for sofa or chairs. The staff were nice but inexperienced and now that places decided to add automatic gratuity they need to earn it.

Yelp
This is one of the prettiest rooftop bars in the city. It's bougie and glamorous. Be sure to dress your best and be ready to spend a little extra cash for a little extra strong cocktails/mocktails. I really liked the vibe. Good music, fire pits beneath the stars and city views, with a younger crowd dancing to the beat. The light-up standing tables on the patio gave it a romantic feel. I would recommend this bar for special events or romantic date nights!

Yelp
One of my favorite bars in Denver! Gorgeous space with even better drinks. The music is great and so was the service! Highly recommend.

Yelp
Came here on a Sunday afternoon without a reservation. View was amazing - Denver skyline and the mountains. It's at the top of an apartment complex but has its own entrance. It's definitely trying to be a scene, with bottle service menus. Service was ok, no offer to show menus or warm greetings (that's 20% auto grat for ya). It had a lot of people working but very transactional and it's a fancy cocktail bar, I want to see a menu ‍ but the drinks were reasonably priced for the view/club like ambiance. There was a DJ playing and the patio was full. If it were not patio weather, it's definitely tiny. Check the times because they closed at 5 pm the day we went (weird because it was a "Sunday sunset" menu and it says midnight online - but closed well before the sun went down.

Yelp
I feel like it's rare to get the view, bomb cocktails, and a server who is attentive and lovely all while the place is filled with people. Wonderful spot for a cocktail on a sunny day. Don't tell anyone.

Yelp
The space is amazing and the drinks were great! I came for opening night and the music was too loud, but I trust they'll figure this out. I'll be back once they're settled in.

Yelp
Wow! Phenomenal space with a fantastic view of the city. Did not enjoy any of their speciality cocktails, but I believe the menu is seasonal, so maybe next time I will find something I like. Shared the mixed olives as a snack and they were delicious. Download inKind so you can save a bit of money. They are part of CCG, which can be a turn off for a lot of people.

Yelp
Slept on and i hope it stays that way. The moody chic 60s vibe with the bubble couches and aesthetic lighting, plus the view can't be beat. Such an amazing place. Can only imagine what the patio will be like when it's warmer out. We had a reservation but it wasn't thay busy on a Wednesday night and we got a great table. I can't remember our servers name but she had short curly hair and was great. We tried the queen b, the journeyman and tried to go for the frozen aperol spritz but the machine was broken, so my friend opted for a standard one instead. Honestly the drinks were incredible. The journeyman tasted so light and refreshing and was easy to suck down but the queen b was the real winner, especially with the frothy egg white on top and unique mixture of flavors. We also got some appetizers, the truffle popcorn and burrata - delicious. Mixing a burrata with pickled onions and soft beets, i never expected to love this flavor combination but it all fit perfectly together. The popcorn was yummy too, the truffle was tiny shreds of seasoned cheese, also delicious and light. I still can't believe how beautiful the vibe was, once this place blows up it'll be hard to get a reservation. Will def be back.

Yelp
I had heard about this spot from a friend and decided to check it out one weeknight evening. First of all, I had no idea it was on the roof so I was blown away by the amazing view. It was chilly, so outdoor seating wasn't open, but I bet it's going to be awesome in the summer! The décor is sleek and sexy, and the was friendly and helpful. I got an old fashioned which was great. Looking forward to coming back for an outside drink!

Yelp
This is a fun location with great views. The staff were really nice. Not sure I would go again as it was quite pricey (almost $20 a drink), and the space is small. If there is any wind the outside patio is almost unusable.

Yelp
Location was new and beautiful, but about everything else needs improvement. They seem to be confused on what kind of establishment they want to be. An uncomfortable combination of a rooftop cocktail lounge and intimate date location. Service was lackluster and very slow. Prices were average and what you would expect from a cocktail bar.

Golf S.

Yelp
"20% service fee" that doesn't go the bartender or servers. Feel bad for the service staff they were great. I had to ask them if the 20% service was fee was for the service team. Thank god we asked. It's not. It's for the house. The manager said the service fees go to "equitable" places for their business, what a joke of a place. Cool spot for a proper team to run.

Honest M.

Yelp
Lousy drinks even lousier food and even surlier servers - oh the view is amazing other than that skip this place
google avatar

Courtney H.

Yelp
The best part about this place is the views but other than that I was underwhelmed. I did not think the drinks were anything special. Also, this is not the place to go if you are trying to have a conversation as the music is super loud. I think they are still technically in their soft opening phase so I hope they work the kinks out before this place officially opens because unfortunately I think they missed the mark.

Yelp
The spot had a great vibe. Loved the view and the decor. The drinks we had were decent. One particular bartender was rude. She did not seem to be a fan of recording our surroundings. We made sure not to record her or others without their consent but she still made a big deal about it and kind of killed the vibe. Thought that was weird since it's a new bar and you'd think you'd want people to post about it.

Gacha B.

Yelp
the place is stunning, the the server was terrible! he severed a table that was seated after my group and then proceeded to take a 4$ tip for himself after having my group wait to order our drinks. absolutely terrible and would not recommend this place because of the disrespect in the treatment!

Efeturi A.

Yelp
Loved the views and the vibe, It's a new place, great for a light night out! My friends and I enjoyed our hours here and the staff was friendly!
