Hermosa Beach Chef Returns With Italian Wine Bar Called Sosta - Eater LA

"Luca Manderino reworked Hermosa’s former Casa Vincenzo into an Italian wine bar named Sosta, which opened on October 1. Sosta means 'the resting place' in Italian. Manderino’s Venetian menu is a mix of small and large plates of handmade pasta, risotto, and gnocchi grace the menu, along with a seafood-centric antipasti that includes spaghetti with salted anchovies, and cuttlefish crudo. If smaller plates aren’t ideal, Sosta also serves steaks and whole branzino, but expect that part of menu to rotate with the seasons. As expected, the wine list is completely Italian." - Mona Holmes

I might be biased because am from the North East Italy, but Luca knows the secrets of the real Italian cousine. I had just a couple of his items on the menu and I want to try all the rest. It’s not just the food, it’s the atmosphere, it’s the service, it’s magic. Hands down my number one Italian restaurant in the whole US. LA citizens, Hermosa beach people you don’t know the pearl you have there. Anyone, before you die, you have to go try Luca’s and his team delicacies. If you committed too many sins and you’re not entirely sure of the outcome in the afterlife, at least you will taste paradise before you leave Earth.

Top notch service. A little dark inside but nice none the less. Small and quite dinning area which was very welcomed. Food was great. Octopus salad was quite delicate in flavors, octopus cooked very well. Gnocchi with lobster was phenomenal. Carbonara was a good alternative if not wanting sea food. Bith had a good amount of meat.. The tiramisu was some of the best I ve ever had.

Google
Evening food is INCREDIBLE - like you’re in Italy. People are wonderful, especially the GM and head waiter. They make you feel very welcome. Only complaints - no vintages on wine list, no corkage. Food and wine list is also overpriced. And while I complain about the bill every time I come here, we go back. Because the food is incredible, the people are wonderful and you feel like you’re not in Hermosa Beach, but transported to somewhere else.

As though you're in Italy... exceptional ambiance, perfect music, amazing food, steak cooked perfectly medium rare. Suggestions: allow the staff to choice the wine with your entre choice. ❤️

Google
Not only is this the best coffee in Hermosa (& honestly, one of my favorite coffee shops in the USA- and trust me, i’ve been to my fair share) The dinner here is a true italian experience. You won’t be disappointed by the quality of the food you will eat, but what makes this place the best is the people who are here to give us the best experience ever. A MUST- but be aware, you’ll be hooked once you come here :)

Excellent cappuccino & warm croissants. Staff & vibe are on point.

Google
Very good food and service, just extremely expensive. For 6 of us the bill was $1400 (tip included). We ordered the cutting board appetizer, steak, mushroom specials, wine, but it was still a bit eye opening when the check arrived. The wait staff was phenomenal. Almost out of a movie because the guy told us about the specials like we were in a high end Italian restaurant in the heart of Rome. It was quite impressive. They were very attentive. Everything was delicious. But just know it's going to be expensive.

Google
5 stars is not enough. Luca, the owner has brought a piece of Italy to Hermosa Beach. My wife’s family is Italian, and believe me it is hard to find authentic food in comparison to her family’s home cooking. Sosta’s menu is incredible, and every dish we ordered was fresh, beautifully presented and incredibly delicious. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a truly authentic Italian experience. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
The best Italian food I've had in the South Bay. Everything was delicious, the only downside was the dim lighting--it was a bit hard to read the menu, especially for my parents who needed some help. Other than that, I highly recommend this place--10/10.

Yelp
Wow, seriously some impressively good and excite-fully delicious food. This is my kind of Italian food! These dishes had the technical precision of a Michelin Star chef and the food packed the punch with flavor. We started the evening with Yellowtail Crudo. Perfectly cut and seasoned with olive oil, sea salt, and black pepper. It needs nothing else, it just melts away in the mouth. We then had the Octopus Salad which came with potatoes, olive oil, salt, pepper and olives. Very delightful and wonderful. We then had a pasta which I had the pleasure of trying for the first time, Spaghetti with Mullet Roe. The pasta was perfectly al dente and had a touch of seafood on the palate. Extremely delightful. Next we had some Gnocchi. Perfectly cooked little pillows in the mouth. Last we had the Ribeye. One of the best steaks I have had in a long time. It was as good if not better than any American Wagyu I have had before. And again perfectly seasoned with just what a steak needs, Italian olive oil and rock salt. Overall a truly fantastic meal from a truly wonderful restaurant. The waiters were all super on top of everything and very friendly. I can't wait to return.

Yelp
The restaurant was recommended by someone from Italy so I figured we would try it. NOT SORRY!!! The food here is amazing and having just returned from Italy, I can say it's even better than some of the meals I had there! Friends and I have tried the lobster gnocchi, eggplant parmesan, zucchini flower app, caprese and of course, dessert. All delicious, 10 out of 10! Juan is often there and he is one of the kindest humans. I would recommend reservations. Parking in Hermosa can sometimes be a bit of a pain, but I promise it's worth it!!

Yelp
Small restaurant up the hill from Hermosa Beach. The moment you walk into Sosta, you feel like you are entering someone's home kitchen, and feel like part of their family. The fact that they speak Italian adds to the feel of authenticity and the waitstaff was on point the whole night. The dim lighting with the real wax candles, adds a intimate touch. The food started with a simple Hamachi Crudo, which was simple and elegant. The warm bread that accompanied it is a nice and appreciated surprise at the beginning of the meal. Next up was the octopus, which was served warm, and was not rubbery or chewy at all. The eggplant Parmesan was a little bit on the colder side, but taste wise very sweet, tender, and you could tell each portion was made lovingly. The gnocchi was soft, creamy, rich, and decadent, and the sauce was equally rich and a great pairing. When you were only served five pieces of gnocchi, somehow you feel more appreciative of each bite and that was certainly the case here. You probably wouldn't want to eat a whole bowl of the stuff as it was extremely rich and luxuriously creamy. The last dish was the tiramisu which had a strong coffee flavor. Everything about the night was wonderful and I would highly recommend trying it out!

Yelp
First time dining here. Ordered zucchini blossoms, yellowtail carpaccio, Uni pasta, sea bream, and tiramisu. Zucchini blossoms - tasty, but could have been better if they were served while they were still hot. Yellowtail carpaccio - fresh and good, but found a big bone in one of 4 slices. Uni pasta - delicious. Pasta was Al dente and Uni was fresh. My favorite dish of the night. Sea bream - shared with my husband. Supposed to be deboned, but the piece served for me had a big bone in the first bite and then many more bones in the following 2 bites in a row, I gave up eating it leaving almost a whole filet untouched. It would have been nice if the person taking away the plate (different from our server) would have asked if everything was ok seeing that a customer barely touched a $55 dish. At least there was only one small bone in my husband's, he enjoyed it. Tiramisu - delicious. Perfect size for sharing and it was not too sweet like some other restaurants. Our server was wonderful, and especially my husband was really happy with the wine pairing he offered. The ambient was also nice & romantic.

Yelp
Sosta is delicious. I had been to this location before when it was Bella Vita. The food was terrible but the ambience was always super cozy. Now we get the tasty food to go with it! Yummy things we ate: shrimp soup, squash blossoms, lamb chops (even the potatoes that came with it were addicting!), lobster gnocchi, and lemon tagliolini. I've been twice and I would get it all again. The only disappointment was the chocolate gelato (meh) but I don't care, everything else was so good! The service was amazing too! The manager waited on us and was super attentive and knowledgeable of the menu and every single ingredient! We definitely will be coming back again and again!

Yelp
Good food and ambiance are great, service is nice, but pricing does not match value - we

Yelp
Very intimate little restaurant . White table cloths and candle lit . Service was perfect . The rib eye is amazing . Gnocchi stuffed lobster delicious .

Paul S.

Yelp
Food was pretty good but the prices are outrageous. You can easily get better or just as good for less. Felt like they were always trying to upsell. Only us and another table on a Friday night at 6pm. The restaurant is perfectly fine but the cost should be 30-50% less for the amount and quality you get. We had one small appetizer, two small portioned pastas and one small entree. No drinks and no dessert. Paid $250 with tax and tip.

Yelp
We went for the special Memorial Day menu during the Hermosa Fiesta festival. We had two tramezzini soft sandwiches. One with egg and asparagus (like an egg salad) and one with prosciutto. Both were absolutely delicious! Almost like tea sandwiches. We had two panini sandwiches. One with a salsa Rosa (almost like a grilled cheese) and another just prosciutto. So good! We also got the tuna tartare and crudo (I can't remember if it was yellowtail or something else) I highly recommend the ahi tuna tartare. My friends got aperol spritz and a white wine (recommended when she asked for a Sauvignon Blanc or a Sancerre, we aren't sure what kind but it was an Italian white wine) We finished off with the chocolate and tobacco gelato- which I would go back solely for! And a decadent tiramisu. The ambiance was lovely- we sat outside and the sun finally came out! The service was great, they made us feel welcome and recommended a few dishes. I highly recommend giving this restaurant a try!

Yelp
Sosta Cucina is an unassumingly delicious gem of a spot, tucked away in Hermosa Beach, CA. In a city full of copy/paste beach bar/burger joints, Sosta is a breath of fresh Venetian seaside air. The plain dark painted walls & frosted windows are contrasted by fresh stark white linen topped tables with flickering candle light, creating an ambience that facilitates the perfect environment to talk, drink, eat, and drink some more. Prices are competitive for any beach city restaurant, but if you're a big eater, prepare yourself in advance for "European portions". Take comfort knowing their A+ staff will be around often with offerings of warm fresh bread & more wine!

Sara S.

Yelp
The service and food quality do not match the prices charged. Imagine my shock after paying these prices only to finish my water and read the word "IKEA" on the water glass. IKEA and $95 pasta cannot coexist.

Anna G.

Yelp
Dear Yelp Community, First time visiting yesterday! Wonderful, because of the simple beautiful, coffee venue (in the morning) by the beach; then turns into a restaurant later. I only experienced the coffee component. The owner, Luca, is Italian (from Italy), and I appreciated meeting him. Thank you, Chris, for the coffee! Sincerely, Anna

Yelp
The food was delicious they accommodated us without reservations. The candle lit table and boutique feel was amazing the service was great and the wine was great. Recommend for sure!

Yelp
How does this place have so many 5 star reviews? Have these people not had good Italian food in their lives? Serious question here I dined here outside about a month ago, and i pretty much felt ripped off The place itself is nice, i'll give it that But to charge $45 for an entree with boxed linguini, and only about a handful i might add, with about a 3rd of a lobster claw, in a oil sauce with basil, is just plain ridiculous . Any boxed pasta dish priced over $30 Is highway robbery, i could make better at home.... The entrees here are very small, if they make this pasta fresh, they are not doing it right. Save your money, stick with fritto misto or even better, go to Aliotta's in torrance, great authentic italian food and great ambiance, much better portions and prices...

Yelp
My husband and I have determined this is our #1 favorite restaurant in the world!! We don't know why they don't have any Michelin stars. We have dined at a few Michelin star places in our time and Sosta Cucina is definitely there with them. Our favorite ways to dine here are getting hosted by Christian & Simon (the twin brothers who work with Sosta for many, many years since when the restaurant was at a different location and called La Sosta). They are both incredibly passionate about the food they serve and always talk us into trying something different. And we have never been disappointed. In fact, we are always beyond amazed with the experience. Best wine recommendations here as well. We love coming here for special occasions and when we want to feel happy

Tracey M.

Yelp
We went to their event this month, Feb, and was looking forward to it given my times there for dinner. Unfortunately, I will not be going back...ever! Ended up serving us stale flat bread with a slice of meat on each, a really bad piece of tuna and two items from the first course. When I said something, he finally admitted they ran out of food and tried to put something together. They were not upfront about it and should have simply refunded our money since it was a set menu. Then, proceeded to bring a small bit of tuna poke and a few pieces of cheese & honey as a "make good"- which did not suffice. While complimentary filling the glasses of wine for everyone around us, we went up and bought ours. Hardly an apology.. and a bad situation they easily could have turned into a good one. Sadly, I love their food and glad to have it in the hood, but will never go back and will no longer recommend them.

Keli R.

Yelp
My favorite restaurant. Somewhat expensive, but for a special occasion, worth it. I always take my out of town friends here and they love it. My usual order is the truffle linguini which is not on the menu but super delicious, along with a wonderful salad, and the wine that Juan recommends. Sitting outside during the summer is a joy, sitting inside in the winter is romantic. Magnifico.

Diane O.

Yelp
I love this place!!! I've been here a few times. Tonight we sat inside and it was particularly HOT! Maybe a tan would be nice to circulate the air. But OMG! What a delicious dinner. The first wine we picked, we didn't really care for. I never send anything back. But we let them know we didn't like the wine. They were so gracious and accommodating and found us a PHENOMENAL bottle of wine. I love this! It's what prompted my review. The food, ambiance and service were 5 stars!

Christina M.

Yelp
My absolute FAVORITE Italian restaurant in ALL of Los Angeles. Hands down. This establishment is an absolute gem. You can start your day off with a delicious hand crafted latte paired with the most immaculate cornetto I have ever tasted. The dinner experience is its own breed of magic. I can't get enough of the tuna tartare--it's buttery, fresh and melts in your mouth. The Gorgonzola gnocchi, the filet, the lamb, crudo, literally anything on the menu--won't cease to disappoint!! But the best part is the incredible chef, manager, and waitstaff. Truly an outstanding eatery that leaves you feeling 110% satisfied. If I could give 10 stars I would! ALSO: any and EVERY negative review is because of the pricing--clearly none of those people have experienced homemade fine dining. Maybe they should stick to cheap Italian chain restaurants.....

Yelp
I just love this cute, very cute restaurant. We were seated by the windows, so fresh! Perfect for a restaurant close by the beach. The restaurant is very cozy and dark. Great for a date. My meal was delicious. My favorite was the pasta with truffles so good that I didn't want to share it with my dinner companion. Salad was fresh and yummy. The fried shiitake mushrooms were out of this world and the 8 months aged cheese was good but too strong for my taste. I highly recommend this place.

Yelp
La sosta is an authentic Italian restaurant. Most of the dish have roots from Venice. ( but not only). Flavors, colors and smell bring you in Italy for a moment. I was very impressed by the "cornetto al cioccolato" that we had for breakfast with cappuccino ( I got an espresso). Very good, the best so far I tried in South Bay. Can wait to see what the restaurant is turning after the remodeling.

Yelp
Excellent food punctuated by some of the best gnocchi I've had, matched with a professional yet friendly staff. A hidden gem.

Yelp
I don't even know where to begin... I've been wanting to come to Sosta for about three years now. For some reason I randomly decided to give it a try this evening. Everyone was so kind, and made it a great experience for me. Juan was my server and he was so delightful. Very knowledgeable of the wine and dishes. He also had great recommendations that I enjoyed! The food was delicious! The Caprese I had was nice and fresh! Followed by the truffle fettuccine pasta that was extraordinary and ended with a slice of tiramisu. Which was the best tiramisu I ever had! They have a great selection of wine as well! Their ambiance was perfect for me as I took myself out for a solo date night! Definitely recommend this place for those who love genuine, delicious Italian cuisine. You won't be disappointment!

M J.

Yelp
The ambiance of this restaurant is top notch. It is like being in someone's home, just wonderful. Our waiter was excellent and kind, that part was just outstanding. I think what bothered me the most was the menu prices for what you get. I ordered pasta with lobster, and for $45 I would expect A LOT more lobster than a claw and some tiny pieces in the sauce, which honestly was not that remarkable taste-wise. We also ordered the fish, which was good but also not remarkable enough to pay $50. I honestly debated writing this review because we did have such a nice time. If money is no object go for it. I will go somewhere else next time.

Yelp
My 1st time last night. We got inside seating. Very simple Decor but the light make the place feel romantic. Service was great. Food is well done. I really impressed with the salmon dish. Incredible! Buttery porch salmon with mushroom (unfortunately I didn't have a chance to take a picture) I'll definitely will be back again.

Yelp
Started our morning stroll with some fabulous coffees from this cute little place. The ladies were very helpful so I got something special and just to my taste! Saw on the sign that they turned into an authentic Italian restaurant at night and the girls raves about the homemade pastas. So headed back for dinner later in the evening! Loved the ambiance change! The manager and our waiter were both from Italy and helped my friend and I make some selections to share. The carpaccio was simply prepared and a nice start to the meal. The gnocchi was such beautiful soft pillows with a mellow Gorgonzola sauce. And the carbonara was cooked perfectly al dente with just the right amount of pancetta. The wine pairing was on point as well! The setting was really cozy and we got hugs as we left from the manager and waiter! Made us feel like family! We will definitely go back!

Yelp
They really really take care of you at Sosta and make you feel special. We popped in for our first time not realizing it was a Dine LA week. Glad we got to try to a few things because the food was delicious. Can't say enough... the gnocchi was the best I've ever had. Really where they shine is the excellent service. Rare find these days. Ambiance is also great, my wife kept saying how cute it was inside. Thank you for a great dining experience. We'll be back!

Yelp
Absolutely spectacular! I must admit I was a bit skeptical after reading some of the bad reviews, but my neighbor said this is the best Italian in the South Bay, and I tend to agree. I went here with my brother-in-law last night. We got steak tar tar with white truffles (pricey and worth it), carbonara, gnocchi and branzino. Everything was excellent. If you have a bottle of wine, expect to spend $200-$300 for 2 people. That is pretty much par for the course in the South Bay for fine-dining. The difference is that most of the mid/high end dining in in the South Bay, is well, pretty average. Sosta, however, is far ahead of the pack. Yes, this restaurant isn't cheap and the portions aren't huge, but this isn't Olive Garden! You're getting high-end quality for a reasonable price. We both left very happy and quite satiated, though nobody felt stuffed, and we had a few leftovers to bring back to my wife. 5/5 and can't wait to go back
google avatar

Yelp
Cozy little spot with an unassuming little sign (I had quite the discussion with our server about this lol). You have to really be looking inside to spot the diners at this romantic-themed dinner restaurant and bar, located on the way to the Hermosa Beach pier. Once inside, we were greeted immediately and were offered our choice of seat within the dining room, which was almost completely full, on a Wednesday night. Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu and the wines offered, and made some recommendations which we promptly followed. The white fish (although full of bones, which the chefs did a great job of removing) was tender and served with aromatic and flavorful roasted cauliflowers. Met the owners on our way out and they couldn't have been nicer. Would definitely return here when I'm in the area again!

Yelp
Bummer that we chose Sosta for our 39th anniversary. After almost 2 hours we had to go request a check. Wanted to order dessert and coffee, but there was no one to serve it. The restaurant is run so there is minimal wait staff so they can make a living, but for diner's experience, the lack of attention with the bill wasn't worth it for me. The carbonara was over salted, but food fine beyond that. Just ok. Sorry. Really wanted to like an authentic Italian experience restaurant. Don't choose it for a special occasion.

Yelp
Gnocchi were so delicious. Got tuna tartar, caprese, sea bass and both gnocchi dishes and was blown away. Incredible food. Can't wait to go back.

Yelp
I'm never really around the Hermosa area but wow have I found a gem! I came here with my boyfriend for a dinner date and it was both our first time trying Venetian food. Upon walking into the restaurant, everything was dimly lit giving a very romantic vibe. What we ordered: -Funghi Shiitake al Profumo di Tartufo: this was such a delicious appetizer! The truffle mushroom paired with small cheese cubes were absolutely divine. -Gnocchi All'astice: absolutely loved the texture and flavor of the gnoochi! It's by far one of the softest I've ever had and the flavor wasn't too heavy -Papparfelle al Porcini: loved this mushroom pasta dish! The portion wasn't small but it was the perfect amount so the flavor doesn't get too overwhelming. -Branzino al Forno: the sea bass was super fresh and I loved squeezing lemon on top! We paired everything with two glasses of Roero Arneis: Anterisio 2017. It was the perfect touch to our meal! All in all, everything was absolutely delicious and I felt like I was transported to Venice, Italy. Thank you Sosta we will definitely be back!

Yelp
"Their food is like poetry" I just want to start off by saying that Sosta is my first time having Venetian food. The restaurant is located in Hermosa Beach on the Main Street. There is no sign that says "Sosta" but you know you are at the right place due to the open glass doors that present you a intimate setting. They do not use any lights but opt for candles which gives it a very intimate setting. The night started with two glasses of Roero Arneis: Anterisio 2017 which was recommended to us by our waiter. It was a nice fruity and sweet wine that was not too dry. We had the Funghi Shiitake al Profumo di Tartufo which was mushrooms and cheese. The mushroom had touch of truffle and paired with the cheese was light but savory. My girlfriend and I ordered two different pastas, she went with the Gnocchi All'astice and I with the Papparfelle al Porcini. The Gnoochi was the softest I've ever had, it literally melted in my mouth and was absolutely amazing but the Porcini took the win for me because the way they made the pasta was incredible. The way not one pasta was perfectly-shaped lets you know that each one was hand made. Incredible flavor with incredible texture. For protein we had Branzino al Forno which was a fresh Sea Bass. The Sea Bass tasted fresh and was not over powered in flavor by sauces or spices. All it had was some salt, pepper, and squeeze of lemon. Simple but and refreshing which protein should be sometimes. The portions are not big and they tell you right off the bat that their goal is not to make you feel stuffed but have you feel satisfied when you leave which they accomplished. It is a place that makes you leave with emotions on how beautiful the restaurant and food is. Definitely a nice place for a quiet intimate date.

Yelp
First time coming here! Recently open for coffee in the mornings last week. Victor is the best barista, makes beautiful latte art and balanced flavor. Got a cappuccino with oat milk. Great vibes, will come back for sure!

Yelp
I've been a fan of Sosta for years. It was the first fine restaurant my husband and I regularly frequented when it was La Sosta Enoteca in Manhattan Beach. Sosta offers simple and hearty fare that is meticulously prepared. Over my past several visits, i enjoyed the homemade pasta noodles with mushrooms, the mozzarella with sardines, the shiitake mushrooms (lightly fried and topped with truffle). the ribeye tagliatelle with squid ink and the spaghetti with clams. Every dish is amazing! Now let's talk about Hector. I usually wait to post a review until at least my 3rd visit. Hector is AWESOME and really adds to the experience. I'm not sure if he is a sommelier but he really knows his stuff! He is also charming and professional. Reservations are suggested but I prefer to keep my fingers crossed and eat at the bar. It's s great view Into the magic happening in the kitchen. Thanks for upping the dining scene in Hermosa!!

j w.

Yelp
The food is very good.. The prices are wildly out of line. $55 for a piece of Branzino. If they want to present Sosta as fine dining, the service needs to improve dramatically and please reconsider the pricingt. For two people: shared appetizer, shared pasta and shared entree. One glass of wine. $250. Seriously.

Yelp
My friends recommended this place and I'm so glad they did! Food is far the best in the area, the service is great, they bring back authentic Italian vibes! Highly recommend!!!

Yelp
Fantastic!! I'm Italian and I really feel home! Amazing Tatar's of beef !! Thanks Luca

Yelp
I can't believe that I just discovered this place. We had five different dishes and all were excellent. The octopus was cooked perfectly - tender and seasoned perfectly. The eggplant Parmesan and tiramisu tasted like I was in Italy. The service was very friendly and attentive. This place is such a find. It is like being at a restaurant in Italy. I will definitely be back.

Mona L.

Yelp
I am Italian, and very rarely go out for Italian bc its never as good as I would like...and this place was definitely one I would not recommend- sorry boys. Your prices are ASTRONOMICAL for what you get. When I spoke Italian to our waiter, he was almost offended and answered me in English. Service was fine, except when our waiter came to check in on us with his mouth full, still chewing on whatever it was he was eating in the back. We ordered pasta with black truffle $80 for a bowl about the side of my fist and needed salt-or anything for that matter. Steak with a side of roasted potato cubes $92 and about 1/4 of the meat was so chewy and fatty, I had to spit out much of it out. Potatoes were a total disappointment- bland and soggy cubes. With all the fine steak houses in the area- you should just remove this item from the menu. (not sure if your neighbor Hook & Plow still serve the bone in tomahawk, but I'd take that hands down over what you served us). How you can survive in a town like Hermosa is baffling to me.
google avatar

Max M.

Yelp
Over priced. Tiny portions. No drink menus. This place seems like a really cute fancy Italian place near downtown hermosa but don't let this fool you. It's just another small place where the server laughs at your dietary restrictions.

Yelp
Is my first time with Sosta Taste : gnocchi soft and taste good but refer to my dish(gnocchi lobster), i not feel any lobster on my dish Sever : nice Location : hermosa I would wonder if you can improve with price and the portion of food to make it reasonable. Moreover, as the price i would expect your dish taste should be outstanding than what is it now

Yelp
Consistently excellent food & service. Our favorite local restaurant In hermosa beach. Frequently changing menu, European size portions, interesting great value wine list. Everything fresh, made daily with love on site. Pasta always perfectly al dente, fish dishes are perfection!

Great local authentic Italian place to go to in the South Bay. Perfect for a special occasion. I don't understand the people complaining about slow service. Never did I feel not well attended to. This is intentional there. Leave the kids home. Expect to stay for 2 hours as you slowly enjoy your night/meal.

Yelp
We have been following this fabulous chef Luca for at least a decade. We are so happy he is here in Hermosa . His restaurant Sosta has always had delicious and approachable items on the menu with a gourmet approach. Italian at it's best. His homemade pasta is always cooked to perfection. The dishes are fresh and full of fresh flavors from land to sea. Fabulous wines and nightly specials . Rumor has it he is adding a wood burning oven to his kitchen for pizzas . My favorites are the black ink pasta and the sea urchin. My mouth waters just thinking about it. You will not be disappointed.
