My friends and I heard really great things about Soulmate and had been wanting to try it for a while. Unfortunately it fell short of our expectations.
We came on Saturday around mid morning. The cafe was very busy. We stood outside and waited about half an hour for a table. Once inside, it was noisy. I don't know if it was the acoustics of the place but the music and the conversations of others was very loud. It was hard for my friends and I to hear each other and maintain conversation.
Service was initially good. Staff were very friendly, warm, courteous and welcoming. Our food and drinks came shortly after ordering which we appreciated. After we finished our food though, we wanted to order more drinks. We asked a waiter for the menu which was promptly brought to us. We waited some time however but no one came back. We did try and call a waiter over but still no one came. We eventually paid our bill for what we already had and left.
I ordered the breakfast burger. I thought it was tasty. I found it to be on the expensive side though, especially in comparison to other cafes I have been to. By the time the weekend surcharge was added, it was almost $20. My friend ordered the Soulmate bae roll and found it to be average. Another friend ordered the avo toast. We all commented that portions were on the smaller side.
