Google
Great coffee shop with a good selection of roasters, including my favorite DAK. Barista was very knowledgeable about the beans they had on hand and didn't mind chatting for a while to help pick a bean for me to buy.

maggie schiltz

Google
one of my favorite coffee shops in west seattle! light, open, and quiet atmosphere. drinks are always 10/10, and i especially love the iced tiramisu latte.

Paige Ponzeka

Google
I love their seasonal drinks, recently got a seasonal foam on top of their cold brew and have been obsessed with it for the past few weeks. It's one of the few coffee shops you can come to if you want to escape people on zoom calls (they have no wifi) or take a break. They also have some pretty good pastries.

Rik Schutte

Google
Incredible floral tea. Try the Sound and Fog Tea Late! It's perfection. Floral and not too sweet. The rose and pistachio cake was delicious as well.

Jingo Mante

Google
Simple, lovely coffee shop with strong and delicious coffee. Their chai latte is insanely good. It’s also cool that you can buy beers and wine there!

lexa lopez

Google
Such a great coffee shop! The atmosphere is cozy, the drinks are consistently delicious, and the people working here make the experience even better. You can tell they put care into everything they do.

Conor Terry

Google
What a cool little place. The tiramisu latte was delish. The no WiFi is a cool choice and the car stickers advertising it were a fan favorite when I went back home from my visit.

Andrea Kyle

Google
Interesting little stop. I don’t see a lot of coffee and wine shops in my neck of the woods. The coffee was the kind of high quality you would expect from a place like this. If you’re hungry, asked to try one of their homemade pop tarts, they don’t keep them on display because I they’re so popular! The guava cream one I had was to die for 🤤

Yelp
Quaint little coffeeshop tucked away in a quiet street away from the busy roads. Never knew this place existed, but apparently they opened about 8 years ago. I originally came in because I needed a place to work on my laptop while my car was being worked on nearby. Unfortunately this place has limited seating and no wifi. Most of the lower reviews I see for Sound & Fog are because of this issue, but I personally don't think this should be the big reason for lowering the rating down. I still wanted to support this small business, so I ordered the butterfly pea drink after seeing so many photos of this mystical blue drink. It's essentially a milk tea with a floral taste-profile, and after the first sip I had already knew this was incredible. The drink itself was a pleasant experience and warmed me up during the cold day. I would come back just for this drink again, and would also be interested in trying out their other beverages.

Yelp
One of my most frequented coffee shops in West Seattle! No wifi, so bring a friend or a book or a hotspot :) You order at the counter and make your way down to the register. They sell ceramics from Copenhagen and source coffee beans from all over. Beans are rotating. Check their IG! They also have a bunch of wine to choose from. Brown sugar nutmeg latte: this is usually my ole reliable because I know it's good. Not too sweet, good espresso, and some latte art
google avatar

Yelp
Good variety of pastries and super cute coffee shop. Plenty of seats indoor and out to enjoy a quiet area. Parking can be a challenge but not too bad. Merchandise and coffee mugs were super cute. Clean and simple. Service was excellent Love the self served water station. Would definitely come back and try the coffee next time.

Yelp
This is a really cute little spot! Very modern and clean and has a small but unique menu. I really liked my Sound & Fog Tea Latte and my partner had a seasonal Brown Sugar and Nutmeg Latte. The barista was friendly and helpful and did some nice latte art on top too. Their space is small, but comfy. They do seem to have a patio area that's dog friendly outside weather permitting but dogs are not allowed inside unless they're a service animal.

Jaycee S.

Yelp
This is such a lovely space and the baristas are always on point and friendly. I love that they have natural wine options.
google avatar

Yelp
Strawberry banana muffin topped with cinnamon sugar was delicious! And the vibe of this place is really cool. Doesn't have WiFi which I get from a business stand point but is unfortunate for an entrepreneur wanting to sit outside a coffee shop to enjoy some coffee and work. The sound & fog latte was pretty powdery which was a little disappointing but I've had other drinks here that were good. Super cool that they also have wine & beer which makes it a fun spot after work!
google avatar

Emily T.

Yelp
A very cute cafe with delicious drinks and croissants! They also have wine and beer which is unique! The barista is very friendly. Seems like the type of place with regulars that come in for a solid cup of joe. They don't have wifi here. Came here in the morning to grab a quick bite and some caffeine. I got the london fog and my husband got a latte with cardamom in it. He said the latte reminded him of holiday ham upon first sip but then afterwards he really enjoyed it hahaha.... We got this croissant pastry with an orange syrup on it and it was so GOOD! omg i could have eaten more than one. Overall, a cute little cafe spot to stop at if you're nearby!

Yelp
It was my first time here in years and it is still one of my favorite spots. I mean.. I place with coffee, beer, and wine???? Automatically the best! Lol They have a wide selection of beverages as well as merchandise and pastries. - I got their matcha and it was delicious! I appreciate them taking to weigh everything out and whisk the matcha powder. I think the water:milk ratio is a little heavy on the water side in my opinion but I didn't mind. fhe sweetness level is perfect and I would definitely come here again for one! - my mom got the brown sugar nutmeg latte and it was so yummy but she couldnt taste the nutmeg - my dad got the white mocha americano and it wasn't his favorite. In his opinion it tasted weak and sour, the white mocha tasted unusual and he couldn't finish his beverage. The cup also had over an inch of room which was interesting There are lots of seating inside and out making it a great place to meet up with friends but note they do not offer wifi so I wouldn't suggest working here-- unless you have a strong hotspot! Service was pretty meh, not friendly or personable. I did appreciate watching them take their time with each beverage though. Overall, I do love this place for the quality in their drinks. I can see myself grabbing-and-going.

Yelp
I love this coffee shop. On my Seattle trip this coffee shop was by far my favorite because of my drink and the ambiance. I told the barista that I would like extra syrup in my latte and while he was making it, he showed me how much syrup he's putting in there and asked if it was enough :) the drink was amazing we almost came back the second day, but wanted to try other coffee shops in west Seattle There's ample lighting in there as well with cute chairs and tables outside
google avatar

Em O.

Yelp
Really impressed by this place, even came back for a second coffee after enjoying the first one while wandering the local market. Parking sucks, but I won't hold it against them as it's worth the fight/walk. Great ambiance, great light, and nice folks working there
google avatar

Kristin M.

Yelp
Great coffee shop open for a Friday evening chat with a friend. As mentioned no Wi-Fi which blows my mind in 2023. Not a lot of indoor seating but some options. Nice drink menu and happy to have stopped by.
google avatar

Sherene H.

Yelp
Delicious coffee! I got a hazelnut latte with oat milk and it was everything I wanted in my latte. I asked for 1/2 pump of hazelnut and it was perfect. Definitely recommend coming here for coffee! Hidden gem!
google avatar

Dina P.

Yelp
I can just for the blue latte which is actually a tea latte called sound and fog. The service was quick and friendly. The cardamon latte was decent and a little watered down. The blue latte however was the best! I will definitely return just for that. Parking can be a little problematic and you will need to parallel park
google avatar

Cyndy W.

Yelp
Sound & Fog is a really nice cafe. I love that it is walkable from my place. There is ample seating inside and out. The lattes are amazing. The beautiful latte art on the surface of our drinks made us stop and take a picture before we enjoyed them. There are sweet and savory offerings to go with your drink order. The baristas were very pleasant and efficient. We enjoyed checking out the selection of coffee beans, chocolate, wine and cute swag. The only reason I couldn't give it 5 stars was because there is no WiFi and no oven to warm the pastries and biscuits. I will still frequent this cafe and I'm pretty sure I will give it a 5 once they get a warming oven!
google avatar

Lauren M.

Yelp
Easily my favorite, and dare I say the best, coffee shop in west Seattle. The coffee is always dialed in perfectly, whether drip (filter) or espresso. The beans they use are from some of the best and most highly regarded roasters in the world. The party selection from Sea Wolf and others has you covered for a quick breakfast carb hit. No WiFi, no proper breakfast or yogurts here, but they do have a nice, small selection of low-intervention wines, even N/A. Really love the high quality of what they're doing.
google avatar

J S.

Yelp
Great location, great coffee, nice and chill. Super friendly barista as well. I like that they have a seasonal menu with rotating drinks as well, and that they also have good decaf.
google avatar

Daren D.

Yelp
I dig the unique name and rather sleepy offbeat location. Spacious few seating options inside or outside. A retail shelf is a neat buffer between the coffee bar and seats. Just a neat spot with staff ranging from indifferent, friendly and subtle curmudgeon. They know awesome artisanal craft coffee and make great oat decaf lattes; nice feel & smooth. If you get your coffee with one of their house syrups - such as the cardamom, that's some cool beans.
google avatar

Hannah K.

Yelp
great matcha! the shop was really cute. lots of bottled drink options as well. i should've tried the pastries as they looked delicious. i feel like the baristas hated me but i think it was just their cool persona lmao.
google avatar

Stephanie C.

Yelp
I would rightfully add this to a list of best Seattle coffee spots in terms of quality. It's quite small and hidden, and appears to be a lesser known spot. You aren't meant to work here, only appreciate coffee, which is why they don't give wifi passwords. And you will, indeed, enjoy the coffee.
google avatar

Andrea K.

Yelp
Interesting little stop. I don't see a lot of coffee and wine shops in my neck of the woods. The coffee was the kind of high quality you would expect from a place like this. Yelp
Sound & Fog stands out to me for two reasons - it's variety and quality for both coffee and natural wine. I wouldn't say this coffee shop is super warm or inviting, it feels more like a retail shop than anything else (although you can drink your beverage there). There's a cooler for to-go beverages as well as shelves with uniquely sourced coffee, merchandise, and curated picks of wines and aperitifs. The staff has been friendly every time that I've come here and the drinks I've gotten have been delicious. Pricing is inline with premium coffee shops in the area.
google avatar

Laurie S.

Yelp
Must stop for anyone looking for the perfect latte. Absolute spot on temperature. Showed up very near close and treated warmly.
google avatar

Leada T.

Yelp
Every time I'm in Seattle (which is very often) I only go to Sound and Fog for my caffeine fix. I am obsessed w their seasonal brown sugar nutmeg latte :)
google avatar

Ashley S.

Yelp
Coffee was tasty but I do wish they had more available SF options for they only had vanilla and no others.
google avatar

Ashley E.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite coffee spots. I've been coming here for 3 years. It reminds me a lot of the coffee shops in San Francisco. My favorite thing to order is the London Fog Latte. My husband always orders a caramel latte. We always get the biscuit with jam and macaroons, too. I highly recommend this sport for authentic coffee lovers.
google avatar

Ananya K.

Yelp
Came in earlier today (Sunday noon) with my boyfriend for a quick coffee to-go and was not disappointed! The baristas were very friendly (wish I got their names) and the drinks came out quickly. We ordered a drip coffee and an iced soy latte 12oz- both were very good and decently priced. I paid roughly $10 in total. The ambience inside seemed cozy and modern, so maybe a great place to study or meet a friend.
google avatar

Jessica L.

Yelp
My hubby John & I favorited this place after he drove cross-country to be with me 5.5 years ago!! He always goes over there usually in the morning to grab iced mochas & squash bread!!
google avatar

Rachel F.

Yelp
Airy ambiance, homemade syrups and outdoor seating! The treats look delish and they even have frozé on the menu! Best coffee shop in west seattle. But note, they do NOT offer wifi.
google avatar

Jane M.

Yelp
Cute little coffee shop here in West Seattle right behind the busy Fauntleroy road. Stopped by and grabbed a spiced chai latte (which I loved) and an apple cider (divine). Both drinks were on point and tasted great. Staff is friendly and they do have some merchandise is store available for purchase. I would love for them to have a loyalty punch card so I can keep visiting them daily if not weekly. Lovely that we have such a nice coffee shop in our West Seattle neighborhood. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Yelp
A cute modern coffee shop that deserves all of its 5 Stars and more! My GF and I have refrained from trying coffee shops in the past since the experience often lead to sour, overly bitter, or burnt coffee. However this place has reignited that desire to explore and discover the delicious treat best served in the morning. We were greeted with a warm welcome upon entry. To be safe we ordered the latte, mocha and cold brew and wow we were surprised! All of them were so rich/bold in flavor and had a smooth finish. This is the experience we had been craving for. The espresso has a beautiful sweet crema that allows them to make gorgeous latte art. You can really tell that these baristas are masters at their craft just by seeing how they prepare each cup. Besides coffee, they also sell some pastries that compliment the coffee quite well like, croissants, macarons, etc. They also sell wine, beer, and some merchandise which was not so common, but very cool to see. I definitely plant to come back and buy some of their coffee beans so I can brew it at home. I'd highly recommend coming here to get your coffee/tea fix. You will not be disappointed!
google avatar

Anthony H.

Yelp
Artisan coffee and friendly staff. Every time i come in, I am greeted warmly and remind myself that the extra walk from my place is worth it. Indoor and outdoor seating provide options but overall very relaxing vibe no matter where you sit.
google avatar

Scot W.

Yelp
A friend used to live in West Seattle, and I have visited Sound & Fog several times because it was her favorite coffee spot. Went there again yesterday to have a cortado and buy some beans. They always have an interesting selection of beans from multiple roasters on offer--I bought beans from Calendar Coffee in Galway, Ireland. In addition to their staple of beans from Heart Roasters (their house espresso) they had beans from Little Wolf and Talor (and maybe one more). I love that these are always rotating--it is a good place to learn about/try something new. The cortado was great, as have been all the coffees I had here. During the pandemic, they do not have any indoor seating but have taken the opportunity to display some coffee related items for sale, including some great cups/mugs. An excellent coffee shop.
google avatar

Ngoc P.

Yelp
There's only one electrical socket below the fire extinguisher despite all the window stools and wrap-around wooden bench. No wifi. Not conducive to studying or working if you plan to hop on the internet to get work done. 2-hr free street parking. Cold brew was fine, but the cup was filled almost completely with ice so I barely got much product.

Piko M.

Yelp
Great service, good drinks, cute coffee bar. The atmosphere is calm and relaxing and you can do a little shopping. Nic place overall.
google avatar

Waldo K.

Yelp
Fantastic coffee spot with friendly service and the all-important oat milk option. Some nice seating inside, and no Wi-Fi means people don't squat. Offers a range of amazing and unique Dutch chocolate bars.
google avatar

Ava S.

Yelp
I had a matcha latte and my husband had a drip coffee. Both were strong and tasted great. I liked the atmosphere and the baristas were so friendly!

Brett M.

Yelp
Their service is attentive and friendly, and their selection of coffee is unique in Seattle. Highly recommend.
google avatar

Joyita B.

Yelp
It's perfect for the winter evening coffee. It's a small cosy cafe with very quer mugs and a wide collection of wines. The barista was welcoming and attentive. We ordered the spiced chai latte and the steaming apple cider. The Apple cider was so on point! I will definitely re visit for the apple cider as long as I am in this location. My husbands spiced chai was a tad under sweetened for him but the barista was very sweet and offered to remake the entire latte for us despite being close to their closing time. Of course we don't make him re do the order but really appreciate the gesture. Amazing for a cafe around the corner.
google avatar

Brenden H.

Yelp
I've heard of this being one of the top rated coffee places I can see why. Looking for more of a coffee, experience, flavor wise and wanting to try something more unique. This is definitely the plan the servers were very nice and helpful and the set up of the shop Was very chill.
google avatar

Ashley R.

Yelp
This is an awesome little coffee shop! It's cute, the staff is super friendly, and our orders came out quickly. This is easily one of the best chai lattes I've had in ages. My husband loved his mocha, and we immensely enjoyed our pastries. We had a blueberry scone, and morning glory muffin, and one of the absolutely massive cookies. We will definitely be back!
google avatar

Dianna T.

Yelp
Sound & Fog is a cute little coffee shop in West Seattle. They have standard espresso drinks plus drip coffee, cold brew, tea, and hot chocolate. They also serve wine and beer plus some small bites (cheese plate, olives, nuts). It was pretty quiet when I was there, but I liked that since I was meeting a friend to catch up. I also thought the barista was friendly and the coffee tasted good. They don't have a parking lot, but you should be able to find a free spot on the street (you might have to circle a bit). They are still open during the COVID-19 emergency order, but have reduced hours (7 AM - 5 PM) and a limit on the number of guests inside (5 max).
google avatar

Paul L.

Yelp
Had the seasonal Brown Sugar Nutmeg Latte. Great balance of sweet, spice and maintains their coffee flavor. They also offer a selection of beer and wine for you to try. Can't speak on their full offerings but their coffee quality was what lured me to try them out. Definitely worth a stop when in West Seattle.
google avatar

Jacqueline H.

Yelp
Stopped in for a coffee on a Monday because it kept coming up in my top searches for coffee spots in West Seattle! The cafe is slightly off California and underneath an apartment building. Not ideal for parking, so I recommend walking over if possible. It is a smaller space with some seating available inside and outside. I ordered the Blue Matcha ($5-$6 for 12 oz), which was honestly not good - it was a tea latte with butterfly pea extract I think, but overall had a weird aftertaste and a shocking blue color. I wouldn't go out of my way to stop in again, but worth giving a shot if you're in the area since I only got to try 1 drink (just don't get the Blue Matcha!).
google avatar

Jamie C.

Yelp
This place is okay. Has some outdoor seating but not much sun to speak of. I ordered some kind or orange cold brew and ended up throwing it out which is unheard of for me. Was hoping for more w the reviews, not sure if I'd return. Service was okay. Nothing stood out to me.
google avatar

Shandelle B.

Yelp
Relaxing coffee shop/wine bar with a clean and bright interior. Very cute coffee shop in West Seattle with bright and clean seating area and friendly baristas. This place is more than just a coffee shop though with their wine and beer menu. Seems like a good place to work for a few hours or just have a relaxing conversation with a friend. It's surrounded by apartment complexes giving it a neighborhood vibe, but with plenty of street parking, you definitely don't have to live nearby to enjoy it. I got a latte this time but I'd definitely like to come back for wine and a cheese plate.
google avatar

Courtney Y.

Yelp
Was able to come back for a cup & found they actually use Maya Devi Chai concentrate. So good! Pricey to purchase the concentrate (I checked), making these even more worth it.
google avatar

Kat S.

Yelp
This is the place for coffee and macarons!!! I usually get an oat milk hazelnut late with macarons or some sort of banana bread. The coffee is super smooth and perfectly creamy, the pastries always fresh, and the service excellent. They also carry a small selection of wines and a few Spanish reds if that's your thing (it's my thing :)) Highly recommend!

ilina s.

Yelp
Really good coffee, the customer service was amazing, the guy was so sweet and welcoming. The plus to this coffee shop? It was CLEAN. The bathroom was so amazing!! Definitely recommend
google avatar

Sarah O.

Yelp
Got my standard americano with cream and really enjoyed the strong but non-bitter flavor. The guy was so polite and poured my cream to my liking (yay, covid safe behaviors). Such a cute shop with some cool Copenhagen ceramics. They also offered a pretty wide assortment of Macrina pastries. A great place to stop while running grocery errands right down the street!
