Soup 'n Fresh - Chino Hills

First time visiting since the old Souplantation closed years ago. The salads were okay, but both the soup and the bread/baked goods were improved from the old Souplantation. The cheesy flat bread was quite good and as was the mushroom soup. The claim chowder was on the watery side with the claims that had gone MIA. The service was pretty good as the tables were clearly fairly quick. Seniors (55+) receives $2 off on lunch and dinner.

Food was great!! I enjoyed it, love the clam chowder, love the cheese garlic bread, and LOVE the ice cream! However, if you prefer to go to the bathroom and come back to still see your food on the table, this place isn’t for you. I went to this joint after a hike in chino hills with my family. Multiple family members left to the restroom with very full plates on the table, and came back to an empty table, despite other family members being there. Staff did not ask if these plates were still being used, and simply snatched them off the table. Otherwise great establishment! However if you would like to keep your head attached do not go here. My aunt that I was engaging in conversation with was sitting down as one does in a restaurant. An employee walked by, viciously bumped her head, couldn’t utter the words “sorry maam”, and went about on his shift. All of the staff was quiet, no welcoming hospitality, I felt like I was being judged, and I felt unsafe. Great food though! I enjoyed the pickles.

I visited on a Sunday and experienced an incredibly long wait time to get inside the restaurant. It would be greatly beneficial if the business implemented a reservation system, especially during busy periods, to alleviate the lengthy waits, particularly when accommodating large groups of 20 or more people. I found it quite frustrating to wait for hours, especially when I noticed that two large groups were seated ahead of us, which significantly delayed our entry. While the food was decent, it’s important to note that the menu selection is limited to soups and salads, which might not satisfy everyone’s taste preferences. Overall, I believe that improving the reservation process could greatly enhance the dining experience for all patrons.

This place was great! There was a wait to enter the restaurant, but once you’re inside, you forget about it. The food is food and fresh. They pick up your plates once you’re finished, so the tables aren’t cluttered. I enjoyed my visit here. I will definitely come back!

Everything was clean and tidy. Selections were well stocked and table cleanup service was efficient. Didn’t even realize this location existed. Will definitely return.

Ever since Souplanation shut its doors during Covid, life has been but a sad saladless journey. But then we came across this gem, and well, Souplanation who? While somewhat similar, Soup n’ Fresh offers all the same great options— salad, soup, pasta, dessert, and more— but with FLAVOR! We’ve patronized both their Rancho and Chino locations, and the consistency is what keeps us returning. The lines are a bit long, regardless of location, but it’s well worth the wait for some delicious, fresh, soup and salad.

The wait for the restaurant varies between 1 hour to perhaps 2 if they’re really busy. The two times I went we had to wait in the sun for a long time, but I don’t think it’s that bad if you’re going for the nostalgic food. While waiting, I noticed groups of people walk in without waiting in line. When I asked the employee later, they said some people are allowed to walk in because their group has already gone inside. However, there is a sign that is posted outside the door at the front of the line stating, “To ensure fairness and keep service running efficiently we ask that your entire party be present and has waited in line together before going in.” That seems very contradictory. While inside, we were seated near the middle of the restaurant where the walkway is. While the food is amazingly nostalgic and the price is very affordable, I felt very unsafe eating inside because people kept walking around with hot soup hovering over my head. I think things could be better with the layout of the restaurant and the way dishes are picked up. I worry that an accident could happen where someone gets hurt with food or broken dishes that fall and/or break. I will definitely return, but I hope things can be improved for the future. Regardless, I loved Souplantation and now Soup n Fresh!

Missed the soup plantation era and happy to see somewhat reborn. However they aren managing the operation well for scale with demand and that’s a business that runs a risk of crashing. Longggggggg lines, lazy staff, unsanitary conditions during peak times, empty stations with no staff to refill. If the owner is listening, fix it! We love soup plantation and spent tons there. If you guys fixed scaling issues you would be way ahead. Taut me the long lines isn’t a good look and doesn’t help. Especially in the cold rain waiting for over an hour. Can’t you attest get space heaters and chairs like the Rancho location?? Come on guys

Loved this place since I was a kid back when it was Souplantation, and honestly, everything looks and feels the same with the same layout, same food, and all the nostalgia. It brought back so many memories. Service was really friendly, but the line is still long. We waited about an hour around 2pm to get seated, though it was still better than the Rancho location. Parking is easy, and the plaza has a lot of places to walk around afterward, which is nice. Overall, it was a comforting throwback and I'm glad it's back.

I love coming here since Souplantation is no longer around. Everything is similar to Souplantation. I wished they would open up some locations around Orange County. I am docking one star since it has less beverages compared to the Rancho Cucamonga location.

Drove a lil ways from SGV to be SO disappointed. Comparable to Soup Plantation, ok, sure. But the value for the money, just not there. What I did like was: they have Kidney beans and good honey mustard dressing. Decently clean place too. The whole time, I'm comparing it to another buffet place we go to in SGV....and there is no comparison for the price charged. At the SGV place, you have MEATS and SUSHI and theeeee best fried chicken and a REAL dessert bar including freshly spun cotton candy!! Needless to say, when comparing, and using price point as the bar, it's just not worth it. Sorry Soup n Fresh, but if the other place can feed me much better and have a huge variety for nearly the same price, so can you!

I heard about Soup 'n Fresh for some time now, and as a Souplantation fan, of course I had to try this place out. Thought it was going to be a quick walk-in to this restaurant, but nope. They still have a canopy outside and THERE IS A WAIT OUTSIDE. It's still a popular location after eight months since this location opened. The wait was about 30-40 minutes when we stopped in for lunch. And also in the sun, so bring your sunglasses and hats! But once we got inside, the memories of a long row of that star-studded salad bar vibe was once again facing us. The metal tubs of tossed Caesar Salad welcomes you with open arms, then the Asian Chicken Salad, then the Asian Salad but-please-hold-the-chicken salad follows. The corn, beets, mushrooms, toppings, and the dressings also shows up. You pay your $17.99 admission fee and get seated at a table. You can then go grab some soup from the soup station, or pizza, or maybe even some pasta. And after stuffing your face, you get some soft serve ice cream to make your feast complete. But hey, it's nice to be surrounded by folks who willingly want to load up on vegetables! My only thing is I question a bit on the food and serving utensil handling here - EVERY HAND is touching EVERY SERVING UTENSIL. Wish they had a hand sanitizer station or their staff person behind the salad and hot food stations switch those serving utensils more frequently. I only mention this because I did get a small stomach bug later after my visit and the last thing I ate was from here. So, something was not clean along the preparation or serving lines. Will it stop me from returning here? Probably not. But maybe this location can be a little more OCD on cleanliness. Doesn't hurt, nor hurt our future stomachs! Restrooms were fairly clean, but was also not managed too frequent while we were there. There was trash, toilet paper, all around the women's stalls. Parking can be tight, but you'll find a parking spot either way. Definitely still miss the old Souplantation more, but guess Soup 'n Fresh is the closest thing to it today.

We came about 5:30p on a Tuesday and there was no wait and plenty of seating. The soup and pasta selections were very tasty and I appreciated the regular baked potato and sweet potato options. Self serve ice cream was also very solid. Only complaint is the the Asian chicken salad and Caesar salad could use more omph in flavor. Service was good and the place overall was very bright and clean.

Finally got to try soup n fresh! We waited in line for about 1.5 hours. It was exactly like soup plantation. I loved their broccoli salad, blueberry muffin, and clam chowder. The Asian style salad and the chicken noodle soup both lacked flavor for me, so I wouldn't get it again. But, overall, this place exceeded my expectations! I wish I lived closer so I can keep coming back!

Oh how we all miss Sweet Tomatoes...but wait there's a Soup 'n Fresh?? We drove 30 miles while visiting Anaheim out to Chino Hills on rainy Christmas Eve to eat here and I'd do it again! Due to the rain and it being Christmas Eve, there was no line to eat yay! The restaurant was still busy and almost all the tables were still full but they let us seat ourselves. We arrived around 1:30, they were closing at 3 for Christmas Eve but had plenty of time to eat. On to the food, same concept as Sweet Tomatoes, you get your tray go down the salad bar line and pay at the end of the salad bar. It was $18 I believe for lunch and they have senior price I think was $16. The food was similar to that of the old chain but not completely the same. In the salad bar they had the broccoli salad and tuna tarragon that were similar, slightly different but still tasty. There were about 10 soups to pick from. The cream of mushroom was yummy. The chicken noodle broth and chicken were really good, the noodles not as soft. The pizza bread and garlic cheesy bread were good as well as the blueberry muffins when they came out fresh and hot! I only tried a little of the pasta but it was ok. Could use a little more flavor. Their soft serve was creamy although dairy free so what is it made from? Probably soy? They also had baked potatoes and sweet potatoes, the sweet potato was cooked just right. There's also a small dessert bar with rice pudding and yogurt I believe. Service was friendly at the counter, however nobody came by our table to clear dishes. We just put them on the tables next to us of the people who left. The bathrooms were clean and food stations clean as well. They refilled items constantly. Overall, is it the same? Not quite but very similar and I enjoyed it! Prices are a little more but to be expected with inflation. I'd be happy to drive back out again when visiting SoCal. Hopefully there's no wait like this time but we probably just lucked out with the rain and holiday.

I was hardcore craving Souplantation (RIP) so finally I decided to try this place out to see if it would satisfy my cravings. We came a little bit after opening and while there was a line, it wasn't completely full yet and it was still at the stage of free seating. If you don't know Souplantation, the process is buffet style where you get food from the salad bar first, pay and then take your table, and then go to the other bar to get other items like soups, breads, etc. They also have cards at each table that you place to tell the workers that you're either done with your meal or will be coming back so that they don't completely clean your table. For the most part it's pretty close. The soups and breads are very similar however I wish the dressing on the salads was stronger since I could barely taste them. The soups were slightly different (they use egg noodles in their chicken noodle soup here), but as far as flavor and texture it's about how I remembered Souplantation's to be. The bread is also similar to what I remember, if not a little bit saucier. The bussers come by pretty frequently to clear your plates and bowls from your table so that's great to make room for more. The food at the bar is also continuously stocked so I haven't seen empty trays for long. While the salads fell a bit short for me, the whole experience was great and very familiar and definitely satisfied my craving. Now I know where to go for these things! But definitely come before the rushes. By the time we left even before noon, the line was already waiting outside the door.

Food - 4/5 - If you grew up on Souplantation/Sweet Tomatoes, this is basically the same. The recipes are close and you get to enjoy all the soups, salads and breads. I like coming here when I want to do AYCE but healthier. Price - $$ - The prices are not what they used to be so it is roughly $17- 21 per person depending on the time of day. For unlimited soup, salad, and bread...it might not be the most worth it for some, but I feel like this is what I have to pay for nostalgia (iykyk). Service - 3/5 - There's pretty limited interaction besides cashier and the wonderful staff working with food areas and clearing the tables. I noticed with this location, some times they are short staffed so the plates may pile up on your table for a bit before anyone comes by to collect. That's totally fine with me, but just be mindful of your plates and bowls so it doesn't get in the way of your dining experience. Everything is relatively clean so there's no complaints. Ambiance - 3/5 - The decor is very similar to Souplanation but in green. It was nostalgic yet still modern. I love it. Location - 4/5 - There's a huge parking lot with other establishments, so plenty of parking! My friends and I went for the nostalgia, and we were not disappointed. Luckily, we went on rainy New Year's Eve, and there was no line to get in. We did see the tents set up for the anticipated lines. I love a creamy soup so the clam chowder and cream of mushroom were my favorites. Pastas were good, and I liked the cheesy garlic bread. Dessert was a muffin topped with soft serve, of course.

I mean, it's Soup N Fresh. People are clearly coming here for the Souplantation or Sweet Tomatoes nostalgia. The line is almost always long on weekends and during peak times. The food is okay and close enough to trigger that nostalgia feeling, but there are definitely areas where flavor could improve. For me, the salad was not as fresh or flavorful as I would like. The pizza and focaccia bread were good. The best soup by far was the cream of mushroom. The cornbread was very hard and dry and I could not finish it, but the muffin was moist and enjoyable. Other soups like the chicken soup and clam chowder were fine and tasted how they should. I will say this location feels less efficient than the Rancho Cucamonga one. It is smaller, more cramped, and the line moved noticeably slower.

To our beloved Souplantation lovers, we now have this new spot. I've missed it and I thought I'd give it a try since it's been cold and craving soup! This place was huge and definitely brings back memories with a set up and the seats inside. The service was good because they were quick with clearing up our soup bowls and plates. I was able to try almost all the soups and pastas and pizza. My favorite was the sweet potato and the potatoes. I was able to make a potato with chili and cheese and onions with sour cream and it was delicious! I ended the night with soft served ice cream. We went to get a bowl with a brownie at the bottom and topped it off with the soft served and it was amazing since the brownie was a bit warm Totally made my night! I will be back soon!

We waited about an hour to get in, but it was totally worth it. Reminded me of Soup Plantation / Sweet Tomato, which I'm sure is their intent. Flavors and options are almost identical, minus a few small tweaks here and there. No fat free ranch, but not a game changer. Interior was clean and laid out ok. No complaints here. The person cleaning our table wasn't very helpful though. Although she cleaned our table, she seemed uncaring. My son accidentally spilled soup all over my pants. Although she witnessed the entire event while standing literally next to me, she simply walked away and didn't say or offer any help. We all felt kind of uncomfortable after that, but perhaps she just had a long day. Overall, I'll come back. Love the food and the memories it brought back.

In comparison to the Rancho location, I thought this one was less favorable. The layout felt more inefficient and cramped and I noticed a smaller selection of items compared to the other location. Other than that, the main items were still great.

In the area for a couple of days snd searched Yelp for a "salad" place. This popped up. I understand this is the location of a former Souplantation restaurant. I used to frequent Sweet Tomatoes in Texas and other places, so was very much looking forward to lunch here today. Did not disappoint. The salad bar looked super fresh. The crunchy veggies crunched and the lettuce and other items looked and tasted great. Decent variety of soups and pastas. We had a baked potato (the toppings bar was impressive with the number of items available) and a sweet potato. Both were good. The folks coming around to pick up used plates were efficient and polite. We arrived at 2:20 pm and there was a long line outside the building waiting to get in! I don't know if this is typical, but I wasn't expecting it. A couple of people told me it's like this on the weekends. Maybe it's carried over to Monday due to closeness to the holiday. Took about a half hour to get inside. Once inside, we immediately got on one of the two salad bar lines. Inside, the place was crowded, but comfortable.

How I've missed something like Souplantation. Soup n' Fresh is everything that you want in a byo salad bar! With lots of fresh options for salad, soups, baked potatoes, and more. The staff here were very friendly and helpful. There was a bit of line to get in. The worker would walk around with a note pad to write down how many people are in your party. The prices were very reasonable and affordable for an all you can eat restaurant. There was lots of seating, but the wait can be long. The ice cream machine when I went was not the best, it dispensed very fast and sometimes the ice cream would come out melted. Overall, I had a really good time at Soup 'n Fresh and I can't wait to go back!

Tried out Soup n Fresh in Chino Hills and I'm glad I did. Cozy, casual, and clean. Great for a quick meal or catching up with friends. ::Drinks:: I liked the Strawberry Lemonade, light and fresh. ::Food:: The soups were hearty, flavorful, and comforting with fresh ingredients. The pizza slices came out hot and cheesy with a good crust. The garlic bread was another favorite, warm, buttery, and seasoned just right. The salad bar had plenty to choose from, all fresh and crisp. They also have a baked potato bar, which is a fun option if you want to customize. ::Dessert:: The warm muffin was one of my favorite parts. They bake them fresh and you can really taste it, soft, sweet, and straight out of the oven. They also offer soft-serve ice cream (only vanilla), but you can dress it up with different toppings, which is a nice touch. ::Customer Service:: Hands down one of the best parts of the visit. Brianna is amazing, so friendly, helpful, and upbeat. She has that kind of energy that makes you feel welcome the second you walk in. We came at 11am and waited about 45 minutes for our party of ten to have a table. Not terrible. ‍ The whole salad bar was fresh and had good ingredients. Soups were all delicious, especially the broccoli cheddar and chicken noodle. Mac n cheese and Alfredo pasta were also great - especially with the bacon added! No complaints, except that the baked goods (brownies, muffins) are all a bit dry - but I felt that with the old Souplantstion too. Oh, we did wish that the bowls and small plates were closer to the bakery area. Every time you want more, you have to walk all the way back to the entrance to get dishes.

We passed on this place a few times due to the long lines. Recently, we finally decided to give it a try to see what all the hype was about. It's about 45-50-minute wait. The tent canopy definitely helps from the heat or rain. Soon as we entered, we were surprised to find out that that Soup and Fresh is a duplicate of Souplantation, which was all you can eat buffet (closed since covid pandemic). The atmosphere and setup are the same. Salad line, soup and bakery section are same. It's literally Souplantation, but with a different name. I'm a big fan and so glad it's back. Just as I remembered, everything tasted delicious. We enjoyed the Cesar and strawberry/walnut salad. Broccoli slaw is terrific. Clam chowder and chicken soup are on point. Baked good area is star of the buffet, especially fresh baked blueberry muffins, corn bread and pizza. Whipped honey butter is the perfect companion to their fresh baked bread. We couldn't get enough of their fresh clam chowder and chicken soup. Though good, I found their strawberry lemonade a bit too sweet. We ended our meal with their tasty soft-serve ice cream. Service was welcoming and friendly. Our only complain is the long line and seating near salad line which felt to cramp and narrow. All in all, we would visit again.

The food here is fresh, satisfying, and delicious while the service is always friendly, and attentive. I honestly love everything about this place. This place is exactly what I remember of souplantation. Not much else to say go get you some soup

The taste of nostalgia is priceless, and Soup 'n Fresh provides just that. Since the Brea (and all other) Souplantation closed, I had been endlessly searching for somewhere I could eat as much ranch, clam chowder, Asian wonton salad, rice pudding, and cold rainbow rotini pasta that I wanted. They've been open for a while now and still get busy enough to have a line outside, so timing can be helpful if you don't want to wait around. Customers are brought in waves so the food areas aren't constantly bombarder. Seating and food layout is the same as it was before. Just casual buffet vibes great for a big back session with family and friends alike. Celeste who bussed our section was so nice and attentive the whole time. The perfect place for salad, soup, baked potato, pasta, and dessert lovers to get their fill. I am so happy.

If Souplantation still existed, this would probably be a four-star review, but COVID killed Souplantation, and then a genius out in the IE decided to reopen an old Souplantation as a new Souplantation, except instead of that unwieldy and--at least according to ridiculous summer-of-2020 pronouncements--problematic name, the new old Souplantation would be Soup 'n Fresh. Lines formed. People ate. Word spread. Almost two years later, the average wait at the original Rancho Cucamonga location is still one hour. And it's worth it. Except I can't convince my Whittier-living parents to travel an hour only to wait in line outside for an hour, so we gave the Chino Hills Soup 'n Fresh a try, and . . . . . . . . . . . . and there was no wait! As in none. As in the retractable-belt corrals weren't even set up outside when we arrived a bit early for dinner on a Wednesday. And that lack of a line is the reason for that additional star. Like its Rancho Cucamonga sister location ( https://www.yelp.com/biz/soup-n-fresh-rancho-cucamonga?hrid=YP1lb35kVoQmVI6sGyZ3zQ ), this Soup 'n Fresh has everything, including a two-line salad bar. There's slightly less seating here, and I'm sure there are waits sometimes, but we were here for quite a while, and while the dining room filled up, we didn't ever see a line. When I saw Yelp photos of this place, I wanted to know what the white picket/ranch fence inside was all about. Well, there's some seating along the right wall as you walk in. The salad bars are in the middle, so this fence is to prevent people from swooping directly from that seating area into the line at any random points. If you want to go through the salad bar again, you'll have to go through the entire thing, or at least enter the one on the other side near the non-salad offerings. The seating and tables are comfortable and in good shape. The staff does a great job of cleaning tables so that people don't have to wait to be seated. In general, it's much more relaxed here than in Rancho Cucamonga, but I also miss the buzz there a little bit. The parking lot is enormous, as it's shared with the rest of a fairly large mall. This contrasts with Rancho Cucamonga's lot, which is smaller and has many spots that specifically forbid parking for Soup 'n Fresh. I will definitely return, although even Chino Hills is pretty far from my parents' house. It's really close to one of the nearby prisons, so if you head away from the freeway, you'll most likely have to make lots of turns, unless you really know surface streets in the area, which I do not.

Oh boy did i really miss the Soup Plantation days. I didnt even come here for the salads. I came here for the soups. I went back about 4 times just for the Cream of Mushroom. I was really looking forward to their Clam Chowder, but it was really watered down. From the outer edge of the tent to the time to get food took about 45 minutes. They do limit the seating time to 2 hours, but I was surely done within that time limit. The restaurant can pretty much fit the entire line, so if you started at the back and get seated, its likely that everyone who's in there was in the line with you, too. There was a lot of parking and i didnt go too far, although you can also use the Toy's R Us, Lucille's and the Hobby Lobby parking as well if it gets too full. If you liked Soup Plantation, you'll like this place as well. I hope they expand to more locations. I wish them the best of luck!

WHY I CAME HERE? I have read good things about Soup 'n Fresh which is an AYCE soups, salads, and more in buffet style. I wanted to try them for a while now. I'm glad my eldest daughter and I got a chance to check them out last night for a late dinner... 45 mins before closing time. We had to hurry LOL! FOOD / DRINK / DESSERT: Salad bar had two sides. Both have the same choices. Tons of fresh ingredients... you know, the usual suspects such as green leaf, spinach, kale, tomatos, cucumber, red onions, green/red/yellow bell peppers, beets, egg, sunflower seeds, croutons, and so much more. Love the variety of veggies and toppings! There were 5 to 6 dressings to choose from. I went with housemade ranch and honey mustard... very nice recipes! Eight kinds of soups available. I went with clam chowder and bone broth chicken noodle soup. Both were very tasty! Lots of ingredients!! I would get them again. Mac n cheese, spaghetti, and penne pasta (all with no meat) were present. They were quite bland IMHO. They need to work on seasoning them better or something to make them more flavorful. Garlic bread, cheese and pepperoni pizza, 3 kinds of corn breads, and french baguette were also offered. Original corn bread flavor was fine, but it could have been more moist IMHO. I liked the french baguette... crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside... great for dipping into the soup! Dessert bar was quite limited with grapes, lemons, oranges, pudding, jello, leche, yogurt, and a couple other items. There was soft serve vanilla and chocolate ice cream. We didn't get a chance to grab any desserts or ice cream as we were so full. When you pay, you'll be asked if you want coffee, tea, soda (blue cup) or water (clear cup). Please note the buffet cost does not include any non-water beverage. It will cost you an extra $3.79 per cup. Water is free! We got water. I don't know the fountain drink options since I didn't walk over there... maybe next time. Anyway, he did a great job in clearing our plates and all timely. Thank you kiddo! From what I can tell, overall staff was very hardworking and attentive. Thank you all! INTERIOR / AMBIANCE: Very bright and clean atmosphere. Temperature was perfect. Great wide space with lots of bench style and tables/chairs seatings. Buffet stations were well kept and maintained. Men and women restrooms are available. EXTERIOR / PARKING: Exterior was clean. Lots of free parking in the Commons at Chino Hills where Soup 'n Fresh is located. RECOMMEND THIS PLACE? Yes, I would be back for more fresh salads and soups!

Complete flash back to Soup Plantation. 45 minutes wait for lunch on Friday at 11am! The waiter said the busiest times are weekends and holidays. He said typically Mon-Thurs you can you can walk in without a wait. I was most looking forward to the broccoli salad which was good but just a tiny bit off from the original recipe. The blueberry muffins with honey butter were amazing. Only suggestion is make sure that the trays and plates are fully try before putting them out to the guests.

If you've ever been to Souplantation, Soup 'n Fresh follows the same idea and execution. For those who haven't, it's a soup and salad buffet that claims to use fresh and wholesome ingredients. In addition to soup and salad, there's a small selection of pastas, flatbreads, and sweets. Everything I had was good and definitely reminded me of the late Souplantation, which I miss so much. At $17.99 for lunch, I felt the price is steep. There's plenty of parking, but that's not the issue. The real issue is the long line to get in. I showed up half an hour before they opened on a Saturday morning, and the line was already forming. Is it worth the wait? No. Is it worth the drive on top of the wait? Heck no. But if this place weren't so far from me, I'd definitely go back. I love being able to make my own salad, eat as many blueberry muffins and soft serve as I want. All this to say... please open one in South OC!

This location has pretty much the same items that the Rancho Cucamonga location has except for red wine vinegar. This place is great even though it's smaller than the Rancho Cucamonga location. Rancho has red wine vinegar but this location doesn't.

First time at this location and there wasn't a wait. Grabbed my tray. Placed a clean plate, 2 soup bowls abnd a snack plate. Fresh ingredients were a plus! Everything at the salad bar tasted fresh. Dressings on point and place was clean. Service at the register and at our table was excellent. Employees friendly. Went for the cheesy bread, enjoyed it. Baked potato with all the toppings. Clam chowder was a bit watery and luke warm. The chicken noodle soup was just as good as before! 38 bucks for 2 adults. Glad this place is back, and will definitely return!

Finally made it to Soup 'n Fresh!! I've been itching to come but the long weekend lines have deterred me. This time, I came on a Tuesday shortly after opening around 11am and it was nice and quiet when we arrived. Soup 'n Fresh did a great job keeping the vibe of Souplantation but modernizing the space and keeping the menu the same. Absolutely love the wonton salad, variety of soups, and the bakery items. Grab a tray and plate(s), make your way down the salad bar and eat until your heart is content (2 hour maximum time frame to dine). 100% would come back and wish they would open more locations to spread the crowd so weekends aren't too crazy!

Really missed a place like this after Sweet Tomatoes closed down in the Bay Area, so I was excited to finally try it! I came here with some friends on a Saturday right when they opened, and there was already a line. Don't worry though - it moves pretty quickly. Once you're inside, you're immediately greeted by the salad bar with a huge variety of greens, toppings, and dressings to choose from. They also had their iconic soups available, including clam chowder, cream of mushroom, chicken noodle, and minestrone. The pastas, baked potatoes, and breads were all pretty solid that day, though the cornbread was a bit dry for my taste. Shoutout to our busser, Vincent, who was super friendly and attentive. He cleared our table right away and even helped clean up an accidental spill, which we really appreciated. Overall, this spot is always a great time if you love all-you-can-eat salads, soups, and bread. Definitely a favorite whenever I'm down in SoCal!

The one word I see repeated in the reviews is "nostalgia" and I will agree with those who remembers Souplanation, especially this one. Even after being opened for a while, this Soup 'n Fresh still has long lines. We arrived 20 minutes before the door opened on a weekend and there were already (at least) 40 others in line ahead of us. When you arrive, you'll wait in line outside and will be called in, in waves. To be honest, I prefer this option a bit more than Souplanation so the interior is not as crowded, which may prevent you from getting seconds at the salad bar. Once you enter, it is basically the same as Souplantation, the salad, pizza bread, soup, ice cream and drinks. Price might be on the higher end for what you get ($20 pp) but hey, its AYCE. The soups do taste a bit different but generally pretty similar compared to SP. Other than the need to wait for the long line to get in, service was prompt and attentive. Bottom line, get there early or be prepared to wait for a while.

I assumed the hype would've died down with this place, but my 20-30 minute wait says otherwise. Apparently people still wait around an hour if you come during peak times which is wild. The people really do miss their Souplantation it seems. Personally I've never been a huge fan of Souplantation, but it was cheap eatin' and as long as you go in knowing it's going to be nothing special, it's good for the price. Unbeatable value that's for sure. Soup 'n' Fresh is pretty much a 1:1 copycat of Souplantation (or Sweet Tomatoes depending on your market), but I feel like SNF does some things better than it's predecessor, more specifically the pasta. The pastas were definitely better than Souplantation's. Sure, they were still a little on the bland side, but the sauce thickness was noticeably better; the mac 'n' cheese especially. The soups were acceptable, but the clam chowder was also much better than Souplantation's too. However, the salads were bone dry. My friend said they probably didn't want to overdress it so to avoid soggy vegetables which makes sense, but man, would another couple ounces of dressing hurt? What stood out for me at the salad bar were the red and yellow bell peppers 'cause them things pricey as hell. You know my ass ate a bunch of them. It's like the crab legs of the salad bar, bro. The blue cheese crumbles were nice since Souplantation didn't have that. Overall, excellent value and decent-ish food. The staff keeps the buffet line very clean. The restroom was spotless too and smelled clean, so that was nice. If you miss Souplantation, this is the spot. I never cared much for the place, but I do love cheap decent food so I guess I'll find my way back here again at some point.

Was it worth the 1 hour drive and 1 hour wait in line? ABSOLUTELY...and that's coming from someone with little to no patience either. Don't listen to the haters. The salad bar, the hot food, the drinks, and the desserts were all practically identical to what I remember as a kid and going as a young adult, pre-pandemic. We stuffed our faces with the tri-color pasta + ranch, iconic broccoli salad, cheese "pizza" bread, clam chowder, strawberry lemonade (I almost cried upon first sip), soft serve and brownies... The only sadness I felt was the fact that there were no chocolate chip cookie baskets floating around the sea of tables, but honestly? Maybe that's meant to remain safe in my memories. So aside from that and the lack of tomato propaganda, you'll find so much joy in the nostalgia this place brings. I can't wait to come back one day.

Soup 'N Fresh located in Chino Hills is a similar style of how Souplantation used to be but has some uniqueness to its own as well. I came here at 11:30 AM, and there wasn't a line, which I was pretty happy about! The mushroom soup is delicious, and I also added more mushrooms and green onions. I also loved having a nice tasty salad with so much variety! There is also a good selection of pasta that you can have from alfredo, spaghetti, and mac and cheese. Plus don't forget dessert which is next to the soda station! You can pick from chocolate or vanilla on a nice tasty cone. Also don't forget baked potato where you can add in any toppings you would like!! Be your own artist and make your own plate.

Hello, I am writing to express my disappointment regarding my visit today, January 1st. This is one of the busiest days of the year, and yet your restaurant was out of one of its most important and popular items -- the broccoli salad. I specifically asked a staff member on site, and I was told that this item was not available today. This is not a minor side item; it is a key dish that many customers specifically come for. On a day when customer volume is clearly predictable and exceptionally high, running out of such a core menu item reflects poor planning and management, particularly in food preparation and staff coordination. I do not understand how workload and food preparation were assigned today, but the outcome directly affected the customer experience. Several customers around me were also surprised and disappointed. I hope management will seriously review how menu planning and staffing decisions are made on peak days like January 1st, so this does not happen again. Thank you for your attention. I look forward to your response.

We arrived with about an hour to close, wondering if there would be lines and a huge wait. But, there wasn't! No wait, no issues getting in, and re-experiencing the nostalgia and wonder of "Souplantation"--BACK AGAIN! Soup 'n Fresh did it! The same familiar smells and aromas waft towards you as you get in line to pack your plate (strategically, of course...limit the lettuce, save tummy-space for the fantastic soups and breads!). They got the Asian Chicken Salad perfectly correct. And the Tuna Pasta Salad??? Exactamundo! When it came to the soups, the Chicken Noodle Soup had al dente noodles and huge chunks of chicken, actually an improvement over Souplantation's version. The Broccoli & Cheese Soup was delicious (but had it always had a chicken broth base...or was it vegetarian?). Still, adding some shredded cheddar cheese (from the salad bar!) on top made for melty, stringy, creamy goodness that superseded the Souplantation version. Clam Chowder--smooth, creamy, chock full of clams, and al dente potatoes!! Cream of Mushroom soup--creamy, umami richness from the beef bone broth, and delicate/yummy mushrooms. Perfection. Then we tried the cheesy bread--fresh from the oven with a touch of marinara under the crispy-topped, yet gooey-underneath cheese. Delicious! Chocolate muffins were great too...especially topped with vanilla soft serve as a finale to the evening. While the specific areas to get food was sometimes a little congested (even 30 minutes before closing), the wait was worth it. The food turnover was quick, with fresh items being replaced regularly and quickly, almost never being "out"/empty. And the service (seating, paying, table cleaning) were quick and efficient. Friendly faces, great employees, awesome blast from the past!!!

Pretty much Souplantation except the pre-made salads aren't as good (too little dressy, not flavorful). Those would be the Caesar and the Chinese chicken salad. Otherwise, it's all the same! Love having this as an option again!

This review is mainly about the line outside the restaurant. The place is extremely popular, so there is often a long wait outside. What I don't understand is that they clearly could use many other methods so people wouldn't have to physically stand in line, yet they insist that you must line up in person. Not only do you have to stand there, but there isn't even anywhere to sit. We ended up standing there for 1+ hr. Everyone in that line could just sitting in their car to wait.... Pure torture to customer. While I was in line, a girl in front of me nearly fainted from the heat. I really don't understand why they can't do something a bit more humane. As for the food, I think it's excellent. The restaurant is also very clean, and the staff clear and tidy up very quickly.

Soup 'n Fresh is a solid establishment! I will say that if you're coming here out of Souplantation nostalgia you won't find it. The atmosphere is more office like, clean but not too cozy. However, stand alone I will say the food isn't bad, the pasta is good and the soup is also very flavorful! Special mention to the ice cream, it's creamy and sweet. The staff are professional and accommodating. I'd recommend to try out this establishment, since this concept doesn't exist in many places anymore.

A blast to the glorious past of what was Souplantation. Short answer: Yes, it's pretty good. No, it's not exactly how you probably remember it. Long answer: From the food offerings to the dinnerware and orientation of the store, everything screams Souplantation-inspired. I don't think there was anything major from the OG chain that wasn't offered here (save for the godly lava cake, but even back then it was a surprise treat!). Maybe it's me romanticizing the past, but things understandably didn't taste exactly how I remembered it. We found ourselves saying "It's pretty good, but I think it used to taste even better back then." Definitely stop by if you're missing Souplantation a little extra! The line here can get prettyyyy crazy. We stopped by for lunch on a weekday afternoon and still waited around 15-20 minutes. Be prepared and plan if you want to avoid the wait!

LINE - We arrived about 20 min before it opened and there's already a bit of line. They opened promptly at 10:30am and it was pretty smooth after that. We didn't see much of a line after the first wave of people got in so we thought maybe be the crowd died down but we were wrong. They just kept everyone outside under the tent and not clog the entrance. They then slowly let in more people as table got cleared. FOOD - like the others mentioned it's pretty much exactly as souplantation. Same tray, plate and soup bowl. All the setup and taste of all the food remained the same. SERVICE - the servers came many times to clear our table so that was helpful. Food and plates etc were constantly restocked so there's not much wait even if there's a line. RESTROOM - clean. PRICES - has gone up as others already mentioned but still reasonable given today's inflation. Overall we are very happy to see this open again. Hope they will open back up all the locations!!

Came to this area by chance since we were looking for a bite to eat, and it was kismet to finally find the "Souplantation" clone that I've heard about on social media. Waited about 35-40 minutes on a Friday evening. Food, similar, about 90% similar, but it's lacking some of the salads, and several of the hot food items it seems. No warm cookies, but they do have soft serve ice cream. More baked goods would be ideal. There were about 6 soup options. The one gripe I had was the Clam Chowder, my all time favorite was barely warm to eat. It was like they forgot to turn on the warmer to keep the soup hot. It was below room temperature. Some of the salad was a bit wilted, didn't seem too fresh. But it was still good. They had the signature broccoli salad, oh ya, missed this. Staff was either super great, fast service, friendly, or some seemed like they were just going with the grind. Especially near the soup area where the staff that I spoke to about the temperature of the soup, they didn't have any reaction, and didn't seem urgent to address it. Adults were $20, and Children under 12 was $11.99. Good value, healthy dining, I wish they would open more of these again.

A solid 3.5 stars. We arrived at 10:15am on a Sunday and there was already a line of around 20 people. Thankfully they had tents set up out front so that we could wait in the shade, although the people who arrived after us had to wait in the sun. This location is definitely smaller than the Rancho location. Unfortunately, I really did not like the layout of the restaurant. The soups were on the same side as one of the salad bar counters. With such a narrow space, it caused a lot of congestion and an unnecessary long line to get any of the soups. It was also confusing that all the bigger tables had "reserved" signs on them, so our party of 5 circled around the entire restaurant confused and didn't know where to sit as the other tables only fit 4. We flagged down a worker and he told us to go ahead and sit and removed the sign. I feel like the cashier should've explained prior that our group could sit at the reserved tables and that they were actually meant for the bigger groups. Overall, the taste was just as good as the Rancho location and the restaurant is clean. Very worth it for the price and their ingredients are fresh. My favorites were the chicken noodle soup, clam chowder, and mushroom soup. They had everything the other location had and the experience brings back such great memories of the old Souplantation.

Missed soup plantation so much so just had to try this similar place. So glad I did because it's so clean and delicious! Quality salads, soups, pizzas, pastas, and much more! Service is amazing too! Please be kind and tip your waitresses and waiters for picking up all the empty dishes and bowls. Thank you!

The only good part was the ice cream. Waited about 30 mins, not bad. Once inside we had to wait in another line to get plates and trays. Which had to be washed. The bowls for soup were empty and there were no clean spoons either. Got salad in the meantime. The broccoli cheddar tasted like fish and the minestrone was burned. Overall not great options and the quality of the food was poor. We sat at a table that was in the main walkway and felt like we never got to enjoy our meal. The counters were clean and staff moved fast. But the dishes being out made it an issue to even get food. Won't be back.

Overall a great experience! I've been really excited to try this place because I LOVED souplantation. I went on a Friday night around 8pm and there was a little bit of a wait, maybe around 20-30 minutes (we were a party of 5, so smaller parties sat first). The interior was very clean and everything was set up very nicely. It was $19.99 for dinner. The whole set up was very similar to how souplantation was. I will say the food is pretty decent and very similar to souplantation, but it's not the same. Everything was still very good though. They also had a couple things that souplantation did not have. One that really stuck out to me was the Korean bone broth soup. It was on the slightly saltier side, but it had glass noodles and tender chunks of meat in it. I would come back to satisfy that craving again!

Cmon guys... One of the main reasons why me and my friends loved souplantation and soup n fresh was because of the consistency in their items. The soups, salads, pastas, pizza. So when we came in on 1/27 we we're disappointed. Pizza that looked like a school cafeteria casserole instead of the usual pizza. It literally felt like Soup n Fresh was joking or something or it was just a bad batch. Nope! Every other batch came out the same the pizza was lowkey gross. Felt like they used completely different ingredients. Everything else was solid though and the workers were nice so I'll add a star for that. Just so disappointed in the quality of the pizza, like cmon guys.

What a nice way to remember what souplantation was. But at soup and fresh there are actually a full house! The soups were great, the salads were great. And even though there were a lot of people, everything was super clean. I really enjoyed taking a stroll down the salad lane to get my favorite broccoli Jones salad or whatever it was called. Then down the lane of soups and they even had baked potatoes and pizzas and ice cream, but I was just too full to get any of that although I did get one squeeze of vanilla ice cream and one squeeze was like a whole cone size. Oops. Highly recommend it if you are in the area because it is exactly what the name is soup and Fresh! Thank you to the owners of this location for reminding us of all the delicious foods that can still be healthy exclamation
