Google
We had a fantastic bowl of pho — absolutely loved it! The broth was so flavorful, there was no need to add Sriracha or hoisin sauce, which I usually do every time. Highly recommend!

Google
I always get the chicken pho to go for my lunch break. Usually the broth is really good, savory and flavorful, today it was super salty and off, I feel like they used last nights broth and just heated it up. The noodles were also a little hard instead of super soft. The chicken breast was good though thankfully charging almost $20.... Also they gave us lemons instead of limes. I'll try giving this spot another try but not super hopeful.

Google
I recommend this place even though it was very busy in the afternoon. They attended us like Vip. I love the new menu and the pictures makes me wanna it eat all.

Andrea Zamora

Google
Loved this place, but from a couple months on it’s been going downhill. The service has always needed attention. My last couple Visits I noticed the pho wasn’t that great anymore, today took the win tho. The quality of the meat was a solid zero. I ordered the combination pho. Brisket was nothing but FAT, there was only one piece of tendon and one piece of tripe, the rare meat was completely frozen up stuck together in a ball! No matter how long it sat in the not so hot broth it never cooked!!!! It was literally just RAW, not rare. And although I brought it up to the staffs attention my remark was just ignored. I put the fat and raw meat on a separate plate. I have to agree with other reviews and say that the jasmine tea tastes like perfume. Lunch hour tends to get busy so make sure you are easy to wait.

Google
I went during the evening and the place was busy. I stood around for a bit until a girl came and took my name down. I waited about 15 minutes to get seated. There seemed to be some sort of confusion or lack of communication between staff. They were dry and everyone coming in would stand around confused as to how the place works. It was strange. The Jasmin tea tasted like old lady perfume. Never again. The pho was okay. Wouldn't order it again. As for the pros, the wings were tasty.. cooked to perfection. Soft on the inside, crispy on the outside. The mango habanero sauce was good too. The cauliflower dish was good as well. It had a unique flavor. Would I go back? Probably not. Maybe their service will get better with time.

Google
The food was amazing. 3 out of 4 people in my table got the combination pho and the other was shrimp pho. We added some extra noodle and egg . It was amazing all the orders were good. Although I've had more beef balls in other locations. It came with half a beef ball. Cut in 2. A little underwhelming because I had way more soup than ingredients. But nevertheless, the soup is good too. I also ordered the hoechata pandan. It was creamy and flavorful. I think I will be back for another option . The restaurants atmosphere was good. The place was busy. On a Thursday night. The service was a little different if I have to say. But overall the experience was nice. Oh also the truffle fries are super good I recommend . The sauce is good.

Google
One of the best foods that you can find in the area. I came in and got the combination and it was very amazing. You don’t have to go to Orange County just come here and enjoy their delicious pho. Definitely recommend it to anyone. The meet is not hard and you can enjoy it and have a good time with anyone.

Google
Love love love it here! This is the best pho I've had. The beef broth is so rich in flavor and is very refreshing! Fresh bean sprout, veggies and chilies are provided to make the soup tastier. The soup is a bit pricey but it is SO worth it. The portion is big, you'll be very satisfied!

Yelp
Food is always amazing! For sure try the pho ribeye and the green Thai always supper good and very good customer service!

Yelp
I was upset with my first visit since I called to make sure they're open but voicemail was full so I just hoped for the best that they were still open & they sure were. Got there around 10:20. Unfortunately they were out of bean sprouts so I didn't place an order. That was a bummer. Came by the next day & thankfully they had bean sprouts! They were decently packed when I got there 10:20ish. Ordered the Pho Brisket, to go, waited like 10 mins. Soup was still pretty hot when I got home. I can't imagine how much better it would've been if I dine-in instead, but I enjoyed my soup!! The broth was perfect! For the brisket I was surprised by how much meat was given! The meat was a lil on the thicker side but still good!! I actually have never gotten close to finishing my pho & for the first time I left no crumbs behind!!! Not even the noodles! Can't wait to come back here & dine-in instead! Ambiance was super chill & nice.

Yelp
Food: 8.8/10 Service: 8/10 Ambiance 9.5/10 I ended up trying their Filet Mignon platter and it was really up to standard, the green sauce was a sweet tasting sauce, the salad with the plate has a hint of sweetness to it, overall flavor is sweet on the dish, was expecting some kind of kick of spice but was not there although they have Sriracha on the side. Place was really packed and filled every table. Music is Generic typical music you hear at the mall in a dressing room which is okay. Wait time for a Filet Mignon plate, Chicken Pho, side of rice was 7 minutes and 22 seconds. Over all 4 stars

Yelp
Ordered the beef broth with veggies only & A green tea Thai tea. I went here when my throat, nose, lungs, stomach, gums everything was sore in my body, I couldn't breathe, bite, and this pho soothed my whole body, I didn't have to worry about my sensitive gums because I was able to slurp the noodles & broth. I asked for extra chili oil to add in my pho & the way the chili blended with the broth, veggies & noodles were perfect. The drink was perfect ! I crave this pho everyday now!

Yelp
3.5 : I ordered two rib bone phos, mango habanero wings, a Horchata pandan, green Thai teas, and an iced black tea. The mango habanero wings had a yummy, tolerable level of spice. I wasn't a huge fan of the green Thai tea, but the Horchata pandan was delicious. As for the rib bone pho, I felt the broth needed more depth; however, my brother enjoyed it with just lime. I had to add hoisin sauce and Sriracha for more flavor. The place was small, but the service was quick. They offered to-go containers and bags in the far-right corner, but unfortunately, none of the containers were big enough to take home the rib bone. The reason I'd rate this experience a 3.5 out of 5 is that the rib bone was way too tough, almost as if they rushed the cooking process. I even lost a nail trying to bite off a piece! I highly recommend that they provide toothpicks...

Yelp
The broth was delicious, my daughter enjoyed it! The coffee was very strong, but good! Service they were kind, but they did forget to bring me an extra bowl to share after asking twice, so that's why it's not five stars. The ambiance calm, chill and pretty inside.

Naomy S.

Yelp
Ambience is so cute for a lil date !! And food is so so good ! Horchata Pandan is sweet and savory ! Elote is perfect !! And shrimp fried rice is bomb !!

Ame A.

Yelp
They didn't add the soup condiments, I get home to my order being incomplete and their phone is OFF and when it's ON they leave you on "hold" and just never get back on the phone.

Luna S.

Yelp
This restaurant is great really great service.Whenever I am craving food I always want to go to the soup shop.It is very peaceful place and if you take your kids there is movies on the tv. They are super nice to you and take your Oder quick. You should you go try this restaurant.

Yelp
Yesss! We found some good Pho near Downey. The name "Soup Shop" threw me off; I would never think this was Vietnamese cuisine if a friend didn't tell me it was a good Pho joint. -The Food I ordered the Pho Veggies and Tofu and Fried Cauliflower as an appetizer, both delicious. This will actually be my second time back; on my last visit, I ordered the Pho Shaken Style that comes with wok-seared fillet mignon cubes--so good and highly recommend. -The Service Have a seat, and they will bring you a menu. The staff was busy but nice. I didn't know that you had to get up and pay at the counter afterward, so I found myself waiting to catch the attention of one of the workers before she told me to go and pay at the counter. Not a big deal, because now I know, but you assume otherwise because they seat you, bring you menus, and take your order. -The Ambiance I've been to many Pho restaurants, and I can say that this place definitely has a modern feel to it; it was nice. The distance to where I live in Downey makes this a great find for me. The food is great, and I will definitely be returning.

Yelp
Upon arriving a little after 9ish, we were seated pretty quickly and our order was taken briefly after. After receiving our drinks, appetizers, and one dish, we expected our 3 other dishes to be delivered shortly after. Surely 15 minutes had passed and people who had gotten seated after us received all their food before us and that seemed pretty odd as we should have received ours first. The waitress came once to take our order and deliver the drinks and then never again after that. The servers were either busy conversing with each other and taking care of other orders, forgetting ours. Feeling neglected at this point, we still wait about 5 more minutes before we decided to reach out to staff. After waiting a total of 20ish minutes, we catch the manager's(I'm assuming) attention and had relayed to him the situation, even he had seemed confused. He was incredibly apologetic and comped our whole order, we appreciate his accommodation and even tried to prepare our food for us to go for free which we politely declined. Nonetheless, we still very much appreciated him. The staff, on the other hand, definitely needs to work on their customer service and accommodating their guests better and making sure they are being taken care of.

Yelp

Yelp
This review was long overdue. Here is the business I should've posted under: If you're driving on the highway, and you need a place to pull over and eat some PHO. This is the place! It opens late as well, later than other Vietnamese cuisines. They not only have pho they also have dishes with a Mexican flair; elote and cauliflower stuff with a of spices. Very good service. Easy going atmosphere with tables that sit up to 4-6 people. Come here after picking up your relatives from the airport, you all will leave satisfied :)

Yelp
Great place to catch some great PHO! Brisket and Conbo Pho by far the best. The service is amazing and place is great for dine in service.
google avatar

Yelp
Clean spot for Pho, had the shaken style pho which is different than most spots oit there, service is quick and good. Chickn thigh Pho is also great.

Lewis B.

Yelp
everything here was great. the space was very comfy and clean, they served a party of 8 very quickly, and all our food was great. I highly recommend the tofu and veggie pho with chil sauce

Yelp
I went in tonight with a friend very excited to try this place . Immediately we had a server with an attitude. I didn't catch her name but she had pigtails and looked maybe caucasian early 20s ,but I can be wrong. Not only did she give us attitude while taking our order , she forgot to put in an order of egg rolls I asked for to go. When it was time to pay and leave , I asked if I can get my order which I had asked for while ordering my other food items in the beginning and she said that she forgot to put in the order and now the kitchen was closed. No type of customer service. I understand that maybe we have bad days at work but taking it out on customers is not the way to do it. My friend and I were nice to her at the end of the day , any other person would've probably called her out . I hope for a better experience next time.

Yelp
It was really good can't never go wrong with pho Will definitely come back Customer Service was great

Yelp
I called, they answer and hung up. Then They unplugged the phone!!!!! Not cool very unprofessional.

Yelp
My favorite place to have pho. There use to be a location closer to me but it was closed down . The food is delicious. I really love the oxtail pho and the egg rolls. I wished they offered 4 egg rolls instead of two. Customer service at this location was not great. The staff was too busy chit chatting . We arrived right when they opened and the restroom was not cleaned. I like this place but there are some thing that need to be improved.
google avatar

Selina T.

Yelp
This is by far my favorite pho place nearby. The portions are so good for the price and it's so yummy. The service and environment are also clean and very good. I come here at least once a month and finish my bowl everytime. 10/10

Yelp
Idk. This was my first time here and i was excited to try it, but it was not as expected. The place was crowded, but we were first on the waitlist and seated rather promptly. I ordered the shrimp pho with a side of rice and a side of noodles. It was not bad but it was not great. They brought the rice out first and it sat for a while, then the noodles, and those sat for a while. When the soup finally arrived it needed to be hotter to accommodate the now cold rice and sticky dried noodles. And the music was pretty loud. Idk. Might give it another try and re-rate but for tonight it was a definitely a three star experience

Kim H.

Yelp
I would've give this place 4 stars, But the service was awful. When we arrived the place was mostly empty. We had never been there so we didn't know what to expect. We were not greeted nor told there was a waitlist (of course i figured it out when I read the sign) Once seated (which we were given a table that was cleared but never fully wiped down)It took over ten minutes for us to get a menu, which I had to ask for. There was a party who came after we did who's ordered was taken before ours. (There was no communication w the servers so our server thought her partner took our order) I ordered the oxtail pho and brisket pho. The broth was good. Oxtail was juicy. The brisket tasted a little bland. Once we were done w our food. We waited another 20mins to get our servers attention for a to-go container and the check. She told us that they would ring us up in the front once we were ready to pay. I wish we would've know that so we wouldn't have been waiting all that time for nothing. We were the over an hour, mostly waiting to be serve (the pho didn't take that long to come out). I saw many people come and go during that hour because they were getting ignored or didn't know there was a wait list. Once again no communication. The food was decent but the service unfortunately is not worth it for me.

Yelp
Everything from the Green Thai to the Rib Bone Pho was delicious !!! New favorite place. The staff is great too.

Yelp
I was wrapping up a photo shoot in South Gate and came across the CrossRoads shopping complex. There were a variety of eateries but the Soup Shop caught my attention. Good choice. Their pho is very good. I ordered the rib-eye and it was full of tasty meat. The garnish was also well balanced and how can you go wrong with fresh thai basil. To quench my thirst I ordered the Horchata Pandan which is a horchata based drink mixed with green tea. It was a nice late lunch/early dinner. Service was good. There is plenty of parking and you can dine-in or take-out.

Yelp
I have yet try the food. Upon arrival, the guy staff stated loudly to another female staff, " I'm Pissed off bc the guy just walk in interrupted my day." I never been so upset with such inappropriate remarks. Such a poor attitude and behavior do not deserve my business or any star.
google avatar

Jenny N.

Yelp
Location: Located on Firestone in South Gate inside a ginormous plaza so no need to worry about parking. You might have trouble looking for a space if it gets busy. Interior: There are some seats against the wall so it's perfect for those who wants to come here alone to have a meal. It's great that you don't have to look at anyone or having others judge because you want to order two dishes all to yourself. We were lucky to get a table that was made for two people. The inside looks clean and presentable. Service: I like the fact that the waitress brought a jug of iced water with two cups without us asking. She also took our order and in no time the food was brought out. So we didn't have to wait too long. Food/drinks: We ordered roasted cauliflower (sweet & tangy housemade dressing, sprinkled w/Parmesan, cilantro, & fried onions - $9.99); Pho Combination (served with beef tendon, ribeye, brisket, tripe, and meatballs - $16.49; if you want rib bone it's an additional $3.5); side order of oxtail ($7.5); shaken filet mignon (wok seared cubed filet mignon w/onions & bell peppers - $17.99, you have the option of getting white rice or if you want you can upgrade and get fried rice for an additional charge); as for as for drinks I ordered green Thai tea ($5.50). Food wise everything was delicious. Love the roasted cauliflower. Sauce that it came in was bomb. Pho combination was tasty, meat to noodle ratio was pretty decent I would say. Shaken filet mignon was tender and flavorful. Oxtail side order was amazing and I wished it came with more than just one. The meat literally fell off the bone. Yum! As for the green Thai tea I can skip. It just doesn't taste right to me. I would recommend this spot. Maybe I'll order their oxtail pho next time.

Yelp
My husband was feeling sick and it's raining so I needed to find a good pho place that delivers to our home. The pho place that's closes to our house (Long Beach) isn't the best. I saw Soup Shop had good reviews and delivers via Postmates. The soups were both very good. Will order again.
google avatar

Yelp
Didn't expect such a delicious, clean and friendly service Pho restaurant in South Gate/Downey. Really enjoyed their chicken yellow curry; and the oxtail soup -- definitely to be repeated:)
google avatar

Yelp
Top notch service, from the moment we entered until we left. The young man who took our order was professional, polite, and courteous. The food here is amazing. I am low carb, and his suggestions were spot on. Broth is exquisite. Everything about this location is a hit. We will be back.
google avatar

Maricela O.

Yelp
Love that they are open late. Service has always been quick and the pho there is amazing. Must also try their egg rolls. Staff is friendly and have always been on top of service. Small little location with plenty of parking.

Yelp
Food (5/5): Who would've thought South Gate would have such great pho! There's depth of flavor in the broth, quantity is pretty big in when you're dining in, and the noodles were a perfect al dente. I got the pho brisket and the meat had such a great tenderness to it. The broth comes out piping hot and it's so earthy. The noodles were al dente, and the ratio to noodles, meat, and broth were what personally got me to love this place. I've been here twice now and the quality of both to go (portion is smaller though) and dine in I have been excellent! Their green Thai tea is sweet but also refreshing -- I definitely recommend giving it a try. Service (5/5): I love that you don't have to wait very long for your food at all! Price (5/5): Worth your money in both quality and quantity! Ambiance (4/5): The cushion chairs need a desperate revamp. Great place for casual dining!

Yelp
Excellent pho, great service, clean tables, trendy music and aesthetic. This is a great spot that has become a favorite for friends and family. The pho shaken style is supreme! I love that all the pho toppings are always fresh and abundant. Also really enjoy their pandan horchata - so good!
google avatar

Kimberly G.

Yelp
I liked the food the only part is when it comes to the chopsticks and spoons there on display to grab so anyone can touch them and grab and I find it unsanitary also the cups don't look like they were washed well
google avatar

Yasmeen S.

Yelp
I would not recommend coming here for pho. It was very bland and noodles were soggy. Nothing authentic about this place. The only good dish I enjoyed here was their truffle fries and the green dipping sauce that came with it.

Yelp
Pho Combo: 3.5/5 Service: 4.5/5 Overall: 4/5 Imagine yourself as a trader on the Silk Road, traveling thousands of miles. You've been stuck in the Gobi Dessert for weeks, and you're reaching the end of your water supply. Your mouth is dry, and your body is in desperate need of some sort of hydration. As you fall onto the ground, completely parched, you see a welcome sight. It's a bazaar in the middle of the desert. Immediately, you make a beeline towards the nearest water vendor. After approaching the vendor's stall, you realize something: all they sell is Aquafina. Not Arrowhead, with its flavorful minerals from the Lake Arrowhead. Not Crystal Geyser, with their all natural spring water. But Aquafina: which tastes not good on a good day, and nasty on a normal day. However, you're parched, and this is the best you can do you. You take a sip and....it tastes alright. Nothing amazing, but it hits the spot during a tough time. This is how I felt going to Soup Shop. I was hungry and in the area, with the next best option being at least ten miles and 30 minutes away. The Pho was alright, I ordered a combination and it didn't blow me away. There was heavy use of pepper, and the broth was strong but not deep in depth. It was a bit over the standard price of pho nowadays, around 16 dollars (I miss 7.25 for a large bowl of pho...) and satiated me at the time. The service was quick, and it got the job done. I would not travel far distances just to come here, but if I am in the area and craving pho, this will be the spot.

Yelp
Finally got a decent pho spot in southeast LA! I came here on a rainy day for my pho fix and it did not disappoint! I got the chicken pho with thigh meat and a side of meatballs and it was all sooo yummy. It was a huge portion, btw, with a ton of chicken. I basically got 2 meals out of it. I paid about $22 and I thought it was well worth it. Check this place out!

Sabrina R.

Yelp
Me and my boyfriend have been regular customers here for several months. The pho is amazing and perfectly cooked everytime. The service is good, but I would like to give recognition to Lizette. The quality of service is noticeably better when she's working. When I see her on staff I know we're going to have our belly's full and check payed in no time. Lizette service is exceptional. Her efficiency in seating and serving customers is remarkable, and she is always polite and professional. She is a real asset to this restaurant and a perfect example of awesome customer service
google avatar

Paloma J.

Yelp
My boyfriend found this spot as he was trying to sooth my soul ( stomach). It was perfection. A hot flavorful clear liquid broth. They bring you toppings in the side. It was fast and they were friendly and the price was good. He got the pho pairing with a filet mignon I forcefully tried some fillet (my stomach did not want it haha) but it was full of flavor and soft. Can't wait to go back with the family.

Yelp
Delicious... my fave is the brisket. Oh, and the egg rolls *chef's kiss*!! Sooooo yummy!
google avatar

Sponge V.

Yelp
Foods your average pho shop but not your average wait. Never in my 1k eating at pho shop does it take that long to get a bowl of pho, in addition the soup wasn't hot enough. Basil is old also.
google avatar

Albert C.

Yelp
Nice clean restaurant. The food looked pretty big when arriving on the table! The curry is really tasty with coconut flavor. Highly recommend if you like curry. They allowed me to switch the rice out for salad. A bit hungry still after lol but might just be because I got salad. My friend who got pho was a bit hungry after too. But things look abundant visually lol and the taste is good. Can't complain!
google avatar

Maia J.

Yelp
I used to come here sometimes when I didn't wanna drive all the way to Cerritos for pho but tbh I had a bad experience here and not sure if I'll be returning. they took 30 minutes to bring my soup and they were giving people they food that came after me. When I got the soup it wasn't hot like it was just sitting on the counter for a while, had to ask them to microwave it for me and it took them like 10 minutes to do that too. Normally pho restaurants, the soup comes out pretty quickly. I hope it was just a bad day or something or maybe it's cause I went alone idk

Yelp
The most important thing is the food, right? So, my friend had a Chicken curry plate which was quite good and the portions were great. The curry had peas and I think carrots? The cream sauce was quite good and very nice flavor and not too thin are thick was the curry. Indeed, a very generous amount of chicken. I had the Rib Pho, which came with 3 ribs which was nice, places I have been too in the past was only 2. Two out of the three had a nice amount of meat on there and tender. The noodles at the bottom were nicely cooked but the broth though it was tasty was too salty. I love salt and use at home sea salt and even sprinkle some on hard boiled eggs and tomatoes and watermelon, so I am used to salt. So people who don't use as much salt as I do would be a bit shocked tasting the broth. Maybe it was a one day and off, whoever the cook was just put in a bit too much salt this last Saturday. We were there in the afternoon. The service was fine, it's not a very big place so you get a bit too much of hearing what your neighbor is saying and of course the crying little angels can carry even in a large restaurant :( There were two "precious little ones" who needed to express themselves :( But no fault to the restaurant, luck of the draw. I certainly recommend this place! Cheers, Bon Appetit!

Yelp
My wife and I like to explore to find restaurants near or depends travel to different area and find these restaurants try their cuisine. We travel to South Gate a friend of our recommended this restaurant it's a Vietnamese restaurant called Soup Shop. Asian cuisine like Vietnamese,Japanese,Chinese and Korean and other enthic are very popular with Latino enjoying good Asian cuisine but also springing up in Latinos community. The Soup Shop is a very popular with locals and others who come to visit the restaurant. We find a table right away then the waitress hand us a menu the we look what to order my wife decided to order the vegetarian pho and fried rice then I order the chicken pho and wings for appetizers. They brought the wings with garlic. Thev wings were cook perfectly and the garlic dipping sauce were Delicious.. My chicken Pho was really good the broth was light and very favorable with spices and other ingredients I really enjoy it. My wife enjoy her Vegetarian pho she say the broth was ready rich flavors. The service was really good we need to comeback soon.

Yelp
Solid spot Clean Food - 7.5 Service 8 Location 7 Quality 7.5 I love egg noodle but unfortunately they don't have. I feel like the broth was missing something. I have soup shop before just not this location. I'm a pho lover. I've had the rib bones before also and they were good. I got the ribeye with side of their other steak as well. I wanna give it another shot. My 1st experience was excellent. This spot 6.5-7 But I work down the road. So I'll prob be back and will update again.

Yelp
We came here on a Saturday evening. The place was clean and busy, but we were seated immediately. We ordered a shrimp pho, the "shaken" pho, truffle fries, iced coffee, and a green Thai iced tea. Service was great, but it took a while longer than expected to get our food. Once the food came out , everything was delicious except for the iced coffee. The portions were also very big. If you love pho, you might want to try their "shaken" pho because it was tasty and unique.

Yelp
Let me stop gatekeeping about this place! My go-to Pho place is here, from the food to the service, I can't complain! My go to's are the Pho Combination and a Honey Jasmine tea! Can't go wrong with that. Prices are very reasonable for the amount of food you get. Ambiance is very nice and chill. Good for a date night or friend group. Very clean and the staff is attentive. It is popular during peak hours but they do have a waitlist you can sign in on once you arrive. Give it a try!
