If you lived in Atlanta any length of time you have most likely heard of Souper Jenny; I lived here eight years and have had this place on my list forever and finally made it to the Roswell location for lunch in January. After eating my meal I'm seriously upset that it's taken me so long, I now have a favorite lunch spot. Souper Jenny has a few locations throughout the Atlanta area, each café is unique, but all are cozy and serving up fresh and delicious food at an affordable price. As soon as you walk through the doors you're greeted by lovely smiles from the employees, as well as beautiful and colorful artwork, it's a super fun spot with lots of tables and chairs for sitting inside and they also have seats in the front and side of the building if you enjoy sitting outside.
The menu changes daily and you can check their website to find out what they're serving. I had the lunch special which included a full sandwich, bowl of soup, a fruit, cookie, and beverage for $8. This is healthy, delicious, and fresh food that is made with love and I'm not paying outrageous prices for it...Thank you Souper Jenny!
The Absolutely Everything Veggie soup was served in a large bowl and had huge chunks of vegetables and was so delicious and perfect for this cold January day, you have the choice of bread on the side also, but I'm watching my calories and decided to pass since I was getting a sandwich and cookie. My sandwich was called Israeli salad w hummus and falafel, it was served on a rosemary focaccia bread with red and green peppers, tomato, red onion, served with a cilantro sauce. It was a very filling meal, I'm so glad I asked for my sandwich to be cut in half because I couldn't' finish it all. The apple was tasty and fresh, loved that they have La Croix as a beverage option, and the butterscotch cookie was YUMMY!
My friend and I arrived early, a few minutes after they opened and by 12pm this place was pretty packed. I will be back, maybe at least once a month.
