The MICHELIN Guide Slovenia : November Gourmet Ljubljana – exciting events and interesting new restaurants

"Overlooking the banks of the Ljubljanica, this spacious, uncluttered newcomer from Jorg Zupan feels like a lively blend of bistro, pub and inn—an easy place to grab a drink and enjoy food that marries tradition with current culinary trends. The kitchen runs seven days a week with 12 chefs (six per shift), reflecting a sustainable approach to working practices, and the menu skews hearty with international accents: lamb ragu with hummus, truffle risotto, pappardelle with blue cheese and walnuts, aged beef steak with potatoes, garlic butter and salad, and pork chops from Krškopolje pigs with caramelised potatoes, lemon vinegar and tarragon. Less sophisticated in style than AFTR but driven by the same insistence on top‑quality local ingredients, it offers a more informal ambience and satisfyingly generous portions; entrance windows patterned with images echoing the chef’s tattoos hint at the playful personality within." - Guide MICHELIN

It is so interesting to see the source of Danube river. How small this great river is at the very beginning. The statue makes the place even more impressive and whole surroundings is so peaceful. It was amazing hiking trip to reach this magic spot!

Quiet place where the river starts its 2500+ km journey. Certainly better explained than the start of some of the UK's rivers....don't miss the watershed - just up the hill along the road

Interesting small Monument to mark the beginning of the 2nd largest river in Europe. The Berg starts from here. There's a restaurant with local food and great beer around as well as small vending machine with takeaway beers and small specialties. The road to get there is narrow so watch carefully.

As a Danube resident, you absolutely must experience this beautiful place. Visit it and broaden your horizons. One theory is that the Danube originates here, as do the Brigach and Donaueschingen. According to various theories, the Danube originates at least five times and even dominates larger rivers like the Inn in Passau.

We didn't have the weather so only stopped for a quick visit (our accommodation was close by). Really interesting and pretty part of the country, so glad we went. Looked like the restaurant there is only open fri-sun?

This was a quick stop, there is a parking lot not too far away and it is a easy walk. There is a playground and a vending machine with post cards, snacks and little things in it. There seemed to be a lot of hiking trails in the area as well. The source of the Breg was really fun for the kids, they liked jumping over the little stream. There is an interesting statue that sits right at the water source as well. I think a stop here would take about a half hour. More time would be needed to hike the trails or if kids want to stop at the playground.

The origin of Danube River. Much more scenic and nice to see than the official location.

The Danube is Europe's second-longest river, after the Volga. It originates in the Black Forest of Germany and flows southeast for 2,850 km (1,780 mi) before emptying into the Black Sea in Romania. The Danube is an important waterway for transportation and trade. It also flows through many important cities, including Vienna, Bratislava, Budapest, and Belgrade. The source of the Danube is a popular tourist destination. It is located in the town of Donaueschingen, Germany. The source is a small spring that is surrounded by a park. There is also a museum about the Danube located in Donaueschingen. I recently had the opportunity to visit the source of the Danube. As a visitor from Romania, I was particularly interested in seeing the place where this important river begins its journey to my home country. I was impressed with the beauty of the park and the clarity of the water. I also enjoyed learning about the history of the Danube at the museum. Overall, I had a very positive experience visiting the source of the Danube. It is a beautiful and historic place that is definitely worth a visit. The source is located in the town of Donaueschingen, Germany. The source is a small spring that is surrounded by a park. There is a museum about the Danube located in Donaueschingen.
