Stuck in the area waiting for a load i needed to pick up on Sunday. I drive a straight truck so it’s about half the length of a regular semi. Anyway i parked there , was spending money at the businesses etc but only after 1 night security came and knocked on my door and told me to leave or they would issue me a ticket. So far it seems like Boston is Not Trucker friendly at all. They treat them like pariah’s. I guess they forgot who brings literally everything they want or need to their big ugly city.

This place has everything you could ever need. Truly a 15 minute city. Police everywhere so I’m assuming it’s a really bad area though. Slept well enough in my truck and had no issues with parking my big rig

Different outlets, grocer, and restaurant choices to choose from when shopping in this area. It is conveniently located off of Route 93 and has a massive parking lot. Local buses run by here as well but reduced schedule the later in the evening so plan accordingly. Overall a great spot to drop by for a quick shopping errand.

I like that there are plenty of places to keep you entertained, fed and shopping. I don't like that because of the high theft rate in these stores it feels like all eyes are on me when I go shopping. Target has gotten ridiculous with the locked in goods. With that being said, I don't blame the businesses for protecting their products. It just puts a stain on shopping here. Other than that, It's a pretty ok place.

I walked past Pearl at South Bay at night on 9/23/21 and it's beautiful as shown in the stunning pictures attached. I went to Pearl on the following Saturday. It was an interesting experience. The food was good overall. We ordered lots of things from the menu totalling about $200.00. Without going into much detail about the food, which was very good, the service at lunch was slow. The waiters were a little too much interested in talking amongst themselves, as opposed to giving great customer service to the patrons. The drinks came over a little too slow, but the food came out fast. A new restaurant should be very careful in these times to make sure that the customer's are very well taken care of, with impeccable service. Cleaning tables in between courses and making sure that the lunch and dinner services are up to their expectations. When you're introducing a seafood restaurant in Boston it's very important to make sure that the restaurant is meeting expectations. There's plenty of competition.

I love this plaza! Not only because it is very well located in the middle of Dorchester but because it has literally anything you need. Please, take note 📝 There are stores for groceries 🌱🌶🥔🥗🥦🥒🥕, electronics 💡📱💻, renovations ⚒️🔨🪛, shoes 👠 👞 …. Beautiful and nice restaurants, even a Nail salon 💅 (Which I love!) and finally… a Starbucks (a very nice one!) I come very often and still there are stores I haven’t visit. It is a busy mall, so be prepared for a little hassle to park.

South Bay Center is beautiful at night. My first time visiting the area to watch movie at AMC. The area host lots of businesses.

Google
Wide variety of stores - Target, 5 Below, Best Buy, etc. The area is very walkable and there is an emergency substation located in the shopping area

Yelp
Outside shopping plaza that is wonderfully close to both the Andrew Red Line station and the Newmarket Commuter Rail station. That makes it easy for shopping for Bostoners (Bostonites? Bostoneers? I know! Bostonians!). The plaza is chock full of big box stores, including TJ Maxx, Target, Best Buy, Party City and Old Navy. Dining options include Applebees and Olive Garden plus a decent Starbucks. Stop & Shop does the supermarket thing. And a movie theater. The shopping center does have a multi-story parking deck that is free for customers.

Yelp
The Nike store does not let you use the bathroom.. Just spent nearly $400.00 there and the manager (who was quite dismissive) claimed it was for employees only. Not true because I used it before. Will be returning EVERYTHING. They won't get a dime from me ever again!

Yelp
Very lame. Guess it is definitely a premium to have so much parking since the shopping center is in Boston. Well regardless, the parking lot setup here has way too many curbs all in the wrong locations and too many openings close to other openings that all need to be redesigned. Tenants are decent but all of the stores in this plaza are all busy (much busier than any of the chain's more suburban locations) and always filled with "nonsense". People over here are always yelling, seem unhappy, and just aren't all that kind (probably why I visit Dorchester so infrequently). Regardless, they do have a good variety of stores. They could surely use more small shops throughout, but it appears that the South Bay Town Center (adjacent to this, that just opened) seems to be addressing that need. I will completely agree with Mark J. that the stores in this plaza never seem interested in customer service and barely any of them are nearly as good as other branches of the same store. Generally the stores are not well stocked (Party City doesn't even have helium in stock to blow up balloons! Seriously, Olive Garden employees came over to Stop&Shop to see if they had toilet paper since they were out). Ridiculous. Entrances from both Massachusetts Avenue and from Allstate Road. Decent enough but could be considerably better and have less trash in the parking lot too. The MBTA bus allows causes major backups too, ugh. Good thing I don't live near here. 2 stars. Nearly average.

Yelp
One of my favorite places to shop in Boston. Everything is close and parking is easy.

Yelp
This place has really cleaned itself up in the last 5-10. I'm pretty impressed. The BPD has an outpost here, which maybe was the draw for a lot of new stores to open? Who knows. I'm sure it didn't hurt. The security guards ride some kind of Segway with 3 wheels. What would you call that, a tri-seg-cle? Zippy little things. My father is always prepared to see his work truck was broken into upon leaving a store. It hasn't happened yet, an we stop here fairly often. So, clearly the portly men on trisegcles are doing their jobs well. if I ever have to take my little sisters back to school shopping again, I may be dragging them here. So many stores in one place.

Yelp
South Bay Plaza is the heavyweight perennial champion of terrible customer service. There isn't a single store in this entire plaza that cares about the abysmal service provided by their clinically-depressed staff. Best Buy - God awful Target - Almost as bad Home Depot - Probably a contender for worst location in the continental U.S. Marshall's/T.J. Max - If they had any staff, they'd probably suck. Stop and Shop - 25 minute check-out time on most days. Drivers will run you over in the parking lot to claim a space if you're not careful. No one makes eye contact, no one speaks to you, in fact, they actually try to avoid any interaction with you whatsoever. The less they need to do their jobs, the happier they look. It's actually quite amazing how terrible each store team is. It's shocking they are able to stay in business. The much-desired location has bailed them out of their laziness, year after year. If you have a car, go anywhere else. Might be a few miles farther, but worth it in the long run.

Yelp
It's got all the big stores and lots of parking. Some will complain that it fills up on weekends but I've never seen that--you just have to park further away. The asian supermarket tends to be cheaper than StopNShop and that StopNShop might have some things cheaper than Target so it's good to price check.

Yelp
I have been going to South bay plaza, now South bay shopping center for over 10 years. I have never experienced anything bad besides empty shelves at Stop and shop during the holidays as well as issue is the customer services with most stores. They hire employee that are not people person and they work slow like Zombies (LOL). I usually find what I need. Old Navy is my favorite store because I have a 6 years old daughter and I always find great things for her. Best Buy, TJmax and Party city have the worse customer service/ cashiers. They move very slow. I have not been to the new edition yet but it looks nice. Parking spot has never been an issue for me. I do agree that other outlet farther out has more options. They definitely need better customer service and that will make this place a perfect plaza because there you can find anything from material to repair your homes (home depot), electronics (Best buy), grocery store (stop and shop) and many clothing stores.... They also have a gas station and 2 banks, citizens and Bank of America!!!! one last thing...they also have a movie theatre!!!!

Yelp
Very nice place with a ton of food options and along with Target and a movie theater this place is great.

Yelp
Longtime customer, neighbor, and participated in the urban planning for the new additions. The developer has skimped on promised greening of the pedestrian areas. The pedestrian access improvement which was a major part of the approved plan has been unaddressed. It is still awkward to move from the new section to the old. It is becoming a denser urban joined to tawdry suburban shopping center. Maybe when the residential buildings are finally finished (should have been done sooner), there will be a better vibe. I also have to say I have moved out of the city and all the chain stores out here are better stocked and better run with better customer service.

Yelp
This place = the great sociological experiment that never was.

Yelp
I have to say that is awesome for 'one stop shopping' for me. Since I do not regularly have a car, when I do rent one I like to be as efficient as possible. For that, this shopping center is awesome. In one place, I found target, Best Buy, Bed Bath and Beyond, Super 88 supermarket, super Stop and Shop and Home Depot, plus who knows what else I did not see. I am certainly a fan and will definitely hit this place when I need to fill my trunk with junk

Yelp
South Bay. I love it and hate it. It's SO convenient for me as I live less than a mile away, but about 50% of the time that I pull into that awful parking lot, I cringe. It seems like no matter what time of day you go into this place, there's just sooo many people. Many of whom appear to have difficulty navigating a parking lot. With that said, having this here does save me a heck of a lot of time of driving from one place to another. With Stop & Shop, Target, Best Buy, Marshall's, TJ Maxx, Kam Man, among many other options, there's always at least one place to get what you need. There are a few restaurants as well, although they are on the lower end of the chain restaurant spectrum - Applebees and Olive Garden (there's also a Panera, but seriously, who goes to Panera?).

Paul E.

Yelp
The South Bay shopping center , in all fairness, is undergoing construction. At the end corner near Panera bread an AMC 12 theater ,Ulta ,and a Starbucks is scheduled to be open in the near future. Will update when open.

Yelp
South Bay! The parking lot is kind of crazy, but they have just about everything you could need here. There's a ton of parking, maybe bus lines run through it or near it, and Andrew Square isn't too far away either (and they sometimes run shuttles to/from there). I go there a lot now that I'm in Dorchester. Honestly, it's a lot nice of a place to shop than it was like 7 years ago when I used to go from Southie. There is definitely not enough bike parking. Wish there was a rack near the police outpost.

Yelp
Convenient place for everything! The parking lot is huge and so are the stores! Right off the freeway and easy to find. For whatever you need, there's a store there that probably has it, including food.
google avatar

Voravut R.

Yelp
This place is chaotic, the parking lot is a bit of a mess, especially when there are cars driving over the lines. There is a decent amount of stores there but I always feel like there is something missing. I do like that the BPD have a presence there & the few store that when out of business has been filled. They do need to clean up the lot from trash more often & redo the traffic patterns in this parking lot.
google avatar

Dave B.

Yelp
So many great stores with such horrible crowd control. The general public that flocks this area is ridiculous. Always a headache to go in and out of
google avatar

Alexis B.

Yelp
Great food like Panera Bread and more. Had coffee there once with a buddy and he liked it as did I. They serve great coffee!
google avatar

Jessie G.

Yelp
All the carts locked before the parking lot. We were unable to bring our items to the car. We also had out baby with us so carrying everything was difficult. I can't understand why the carts wouldn't be able to go to the target specific parking lot.

Anonymous B.

Yelp
I can honestly say that this place has gotten worse and worse over the years. I don't even feel comfortable coming here anymore.

Diane P.

Yelp
What are the hours of operation? This should be stated. I live in Roslindale and have no car and find that the 16 bus carries me there easily enough. Every store I need is there. It's my first choice.
