15 Fish and Chips Spots Worth Their Salt on the Oregon Coast

"A hub of activity in otherwise sleepy South Beach (south of Newport), South Beach Fish Market’s blue and yellow shack with copious wood fish cutouts and a UFO perched atop its outdoor crab kettle draws in coasties and the curious. Inside, a soft haze of oil hangs over the procedings in a no-nonsense shop, as an almost perpetual line mulls over the remarkable array of fresh, smoked, and pickled seafood in the case. Seafood like jumbo prawns, wild Oregon popcorn shrimp, albacore, Chinook salmon, halibut, oysters, and “calamari tubes and tentacles” arrive deep-fried to order. Takeaway or sitting at one of the picnic tables outside may be a wiser choice than eating at one of the interior tables, and ordering a side of salmon candy a wiser choice than not." - Jennifer Burns Bright

Google
Order the fish n chips with the local cod if they have it. Crab sandwich was great as well with a huge amount of crab meat. Fries were fresh. One of the best fried fish experiences I've had. This place is all about the food, with no nonsense efficient service. Do not expect fancy, but do expect amazing food.

Google
This place did not disappoint! The fried seafood basket was crispy and perfectly seasoned, and the oyster shooters were super fresh with a nice kick. Service was fast and friendly, and the casual outdoor setup gave it a cool beach-town vibe. Definitely worth a stop if you’re craving some quality seafood. Thank you again.

Google
You can never go wrong getting your seafood from a seafood market. I had the Crab sandwich it was excellent. We also had Crab cocktail and a Crab burger. All were happy with their selection. Get the real experience and forget Red Lobster .

Google
Excellent fish market located on the Oregon Coast. Fresh seafood to cook for yourself, including crabs, shrimp, oysters... They also serve excellent prepared food. Candied salmon is to die for! Long lines, often, but they blow through it quick! Very good and quick service always!

Google
Wouldn't expect all you get from the appearance...just looks like an older convenience store. But WOW! Our salmon was an hour off the boat to our mouths. The line was a bit of a wait but it was long and steady the whole time we were there. They have a lot of seating outside and inside to accomodate the crowds. Crab stuffed shrimp- is fried but incredible flavors; only 2 but they were so big and so filling, glad I had chosen to share (but not a huge portions gal). Calamari was so good and a large portion.

Google
The best Dungeness crab I've ever eaten! It was amazing. This is a casual place. You order at the fish market counter and sit at picnic tables in the gravel right along the road. A few tables inside are available. There is a connecting convenience store where we bought our drinks. The service was friendly and efficient. If you are looking for Dungeness crab or fried seafood baskets in a casual setting, I highly recommend.

Google
Lots of fresh seafood! Lines go quick and it’s always busy. Indoor and outdoor seating with some portapotties outside. Crab sandwich and fries were delicious ($21 for Sandy’s and side). Must visit!

Google
Almost every time you drive by this place, there is a line. If that doesn't tell you how good the food and prices are here, I don't know what will. The only negative I can say, is that parking can be difficult. We had to wait for a space, and it was a really tight space. And the line was about 20 minutes. But absolutely worth it. If you're in the area, absolutely stop by and try the food here. It does help that you can go next door and get a couple beers, and enjoy them while waiting for your food. We will be back next time we're in town!

Yelp
They changed their fries and they were overcooked this time halibut was good but all small chunks they're like halibut bites

Yelp
Another delicious seafood meal @ South Beach Fish Market in (South Beach) Newport, OR. !! Friendly service from hardworking staff. Straight forward ordering, and minimal wait time, but of course it depends on your timing and peak meal hours. We have always enjoyed their fresh seafood and make it a point to eat here when we're in the area! Prices have gone up, so I posted the current menu. Great location and plenty of tables to choose from inside and out. A sink is available to wash up after meals located inside between eating area and convenience store. Port-a-potties for restrooms outside.

Yelp
Had to stop as it it a landmark of sorts! There was a line out the door when we got there at 2PM and still a line out the door when we left after 3PM. A little seating inside, but mostly picnic table outside and it was a beautiful day! FRESH Seafood prepared well, NOTHING Fancy!! Only got 4 stars from us as the Crab sandwich was on the WRONG bread and had onions which we ordered without them.
google avatar

William D.

Yelp
If you're Jonesin for fried local fish/seafood in a relaxed motif, this may be the spot. Tried the Fresh Crab Sandwich. Sliced sourdough, onions, tomatoes ,lettuce & a generous amount of crab. I should have deleted the onions, as they slightly overpowered the Crab. It's still pretty good.. Six Wild Prawns & chips. Big shrimp, lightly battered, cooked perfectly, good crispy fries & your standard creamy slaw. We we're there at 4pm on a Monday & service was quick. At lunch hrs, it can be 20 deep in line. Fresh fish counter, canned items & a market attached if you want a beer.

Yelp
I've noticed a line at this spot so many times we decided we better try. Definitely unassuming with a beach-shack vibe from the outside, carried over to the inside. They've got seating in and out...lots of picnic tables in the gravel out front (with porta-potties), as well as a handful inside. It was raining that day and the inside tables felt quite tight to us, especially with the line and those of us awaiting our meals, so we opted to take ours out to the car. The inside felt a tad unkept, but they've done a tremendous thing placing large hand sanitizers around every table...bravo. You wait in the same line to purchase fresh fish or to place a meal order, so the line moved a bit slow. Once we'd ordered our food was ready pretty fast, however. The fish&chips were around 18-20$ for cod or halibut, fairly average. The fish itself was thick, nice chunks in a light coating. We didn't find it to be the best fried fish along the coast, but it was still very tasty. Fries were cooked well and plentiful.

Yelp
Really had high hopes for this place because it reminded us of a New England roadside seafood shacks we are used to. You go through a line and order and wait for your name to be called when ready. We ate outside on a picnic table on a cool summer day. We got our food quickly. I got the halibut fish and chips. You get six chunks of nicely fried halibut. Very good with homemade tartar sauce. Fries were a disappointment. Food service bland fries. My wife got the fried clams. They were good. Her slaw was not very good. She ordered a small cup of chowder. It was way too thick and not that tasty. She was really looking forward to her chowder. One thing I found little disgusting was having three porto potties right in the middle of outdoor dining.

Anj S.

Yelp
Where do I begin? Unpretentious, down home shore dinner hall-style joint with friendly, overworked professionals who handle the everlasting queue with gracious bearing. While there, we noticed a purse on a chair without its owner for an hour that we sat over our meal. No one touched it. The woman came back, frantic--but it was right where she left it. We both had cod fish and chips. Fresh, in a super light breading that had no grease (seriously-nothing on the paper) and Cole slaw. Delish and better than anything else we've had in the coast. Go get in line!

Yelp
We always end up here when we are in Newport and want some seafood. This seems like "the place" to get some fried delicacies and/or crab. It's literally a shack with a little gas station store next door. There's some tables inside the little shop and some picnic tables outside. It's not much in the way of ambiance, but it gets the job done. We usually go with the fish and chips, the fish is good, big chunks, well fried. This time I went with the half pound of shrimp and chips. That was a very good decision! It was a large portion of perfectly fried shrimp, which I will be getting next time. On our way out, we saw someone with the popcorn shrimp and it looked so good. I think next time we will split the shrimp, popcorn shrimp or clam strips, and a fish and chips. My only gripe, and it's a very small one, is that I'm not a fan of their tartar sauce or ketchup. I'm a sauce/condiment person, so I have trouble when there's not a sauce I like. I will say that their fries don't really need anything, they are good just plain, but I wish there was another sauce option. I do appreciate that they set out vinegar, so that's a plus.

Yelp
A funky roadside market that offers fresh seafood of all kinds. A ramshackle old building houses a seafood market, a grocery and a walk up restaurant with tables inside and out. On this rainy blustery day, all the action was indoors. We shared a long table with other launchers. All part of the hustle and bustle fun. The aromas from steamed and fried seafood permeated the place. Fresh shellfish, clams, mussels, shrimp, crab all being cooked and consumed by a happy crowd of diners. Prices are good, portions are generous and service is speedy. We had the fish and chips, excellent, and crab salad, also excellent. Don't pass this long-time joint by. You won't be sorry.

Rita S.

Yelp
I always have their seafood when I drive to Newport. Their seafood always fresh. Oysters also huge. But their parking lot just few , sometimes have to waiting for it.

Yelp
Overall great food, pretty quick even though they were busy, and they've got lots of room to park and sit outside. My only complaint was the cocktail sauce had so much horseradish in it it was inedible. But the fish was all delicious and very fresh!
google avatar

susan c.

Yelp
You're basic crab shack with lots of fried deliciousness and picnic tables outside. Absolutely love the batter. Cocktail sauce is heavy on the horseradish and just divine.
google avatar

Jacqueline C.

Yelp
Legit! We ordered the whole crab and chips. The sun was out, the food was great and it came out quick. No frills just flavor. So happy we stopped
google avatar

Selena N.

Yelp
Still think that this is one of the best fish and chip places along the coast! Always very fresh. I don't usually eat many of the fries and lemon on the fish suits me fine. I've had crab there once and it was yummy too. I wish they had better bathroom facilities and their tables could be renewed but overall I love the fish here!
google avatar

Michael P.

Yelp
The halibut fish and chips was and is the best thing going in South Beach. I have been here many times and bring out of town friends and family any chance we get. The staff are busy from open to close. Long lines but fast moving. The cocktail sauce is on the horseradish side but has some good heat and flavor. The shrimp and chips is great option too.

Yelp
And out of this world seafood experience and the small little town and it's a hit or miss but for years, I've seen this restaurant because how can you miss the big design of a crab and seafood on the side of the building? It's colors make it stand out, but I never thought of trying this place until my friend recommended it. So we did and the deep fried oysters are to die for and they even have a deep fried oyster pull boy style whatever... Amazingly delicious and I highly recommend. You won't regret coming here and you get a lot for your buck. Great for lunch or dinner.
google avatar

Yelp
I have heard great things about this place! So our next trip to Lincoln City we decided to try it. It's just beyond Newport. It has all fresh seafood, and a small little area to eat, which opens up to another seating area, with a convenience store. I ended up buying a sweatshirt after lunch so it was a one stop shopping. Very friendly staff. There were 4 of us so we tried a variety of food. I had crab salad, loaded with crab. Hubby got a crab sandwich, tons of crab as well. Just check out the pic! Our friends shared a combo of halibut/prawns fries with a side of cole slaw. Every one enjoyed everything, except cole slaw was a tad dry. My hubby was extremely happy with crab sandwich. Not cheap, but definitely worth it. We will be back.
google avatar

LuLu E.

Yelp
We saw this place on the way south on 101 and missed it, so we had to stop on the way back north. Suoer cool iconic neon sign out front says crab and there is loads of seating at rustic picnic tables outside. Inside you queue up around the indoor tables which are a bit out dated and would be very uncomfortable. I think the interior could use some updating, but it is an old 101 seafood shack. We purchased fresh shucked oysters to prepare when we got home and they were delicious and fresh. For lunch I ordered the crab burger and hubby ordered clam chowder and halibut and scallops with chips. The pieces of hell bit were tiny I guess that's what you get when they're charging 31 bucks a pound for halibut The pieces of hell bit were tiny I guess that's what you get when they're charging 31 bucks a pound for halibut. The scallops were nice and the skinny fries were very good. My crab burger was okay, They asked me if I wanted lettuce tomato et cetera, But there just wasn't anything on the bun, so was super plain And nothing really to write home about. The chatter was kind of gross, It was so thick it was pasty. So if you're up for some fried grub, This place hits the mark.. Their fresh seafood was very expensive compared to other markets on the coast. The staff was super sweet and helpful, I even got 2 of the ladies to laugh a little. This is definitely a funky little seafood shack. So don't expect fine dining. We will most likely pass next time going by. If you are in an RV like we are, there is an empty lot just north on 1p1. Don't try to pull in to the parking lot as there isn't a lot of room.

Yelp
We first came on a Saturday afternoon and the line was out of the door and the place was full. We came back on a Monday evening half an hour before close. There was still a line but shorter. We ordered fish and chips. Oyster shooter. Steamers. The fish is perfectly fried. Crunchy outside soft inside. Chips are very crispy. Nothing oily. The oyster shooter is fantastic. The fresh oyster is very creamy. They also made a horseradish sauce. I love they use fresh horseradish to make the sauce. Way better than a cocktail sauce. Steamers is very fresh. Overall I'm very happy with all the things I ordered

Yelp
The Yelp photos are what brought us here and we enjoyed our food! We tried the Fish and Chips and the Popcorn Shrimp, which were both served fresh and piping hot. The flavors of the breading on both were delicious, and the fish was flaky and beautifully moist. The downside for us was the wait time. We spent about 45 min waiting for our food between waiting to order and waiting for our order to be ready. Still happy we came though!
google avatar

Nikky B.

Yelp
This spot is still the freshest, juiciest, and most satisfying fish and chips in Oregon's Coast, just right outside of South Newport City! Super light layer of seasoned breading, yet still gives that satisfying crispy, flaky, and scrumptious every bite and melting all together in your mouth. Prompt and quick turn around service as you order and pay at the counter deli style. They will call for your name over the speaker phone when your order is ready to pick up at the counter. On super busy day, stay close and listen for your name if you don't want cold fish and chips since it can be super noisy with people talking and highway traffic. It's a bit pricey but this is the place where you truly get what you pay for! My favorite is the whole fresh cooked Oregon Dungeness crab! And I bring my own extra limes to the feast to make my own dipping sauce with salt and pepper!!!!! You can't go wrong with any of their fish and chips here: halibut, tuna, salmon, oyster, scallop, and shrimp. Their clam chowder is alright, 3 stars, and you can count on actually plenty of clam in it. It is way better than Mo's since Mo's has gone downhill dramatically these days; nothing is fresh at Mo's anymore, all frozen, then refried to order. Any fish and chips at Mo's now are mostly breading with barely any fish, oyster, or claim in it. I have been eating at Mo's location in Siletz Bay since 1995 and heart broken with how commercialized they have become and the continued downhill spiral with no stop point of food quality. The cold slaw is fresh and not runny with sauce. It is okay taste wise, also a 3 stars. Casual and mostly outside sitting along the highway. This is my must stop spot every time I visit the coast and it also should be yours. Call ahead to double check their winter and summer hours. The grocery store right next to them is open 24/7. PY: Honey Bucket Only.

Yelp
I had the Wild Northwest Chinook King Salmon Fish & Chips. I felt the Salmon was a bit dry, but I've never had Salmon breaded & fried, so perhaps that's common. It was certainly delcious, with a light breading and not too much oil. The "chips" (thin cut fries) were not to my liking, but certainly YMMV; probably for some people, they're perfect. I also got to taste someone's Fresh Local Wild Fish. That white fish was more moist, and very fresh-tasting. Someone else in our party had the Fresh Oregon Dungeness Crab Salad (see photo), which looked very good, and she said it was "very fresh tasting". Service was good, and our order was available pretty quickly (about 10 minutes) considering how crowded it was. 3.5* rounding up to 4*.

Tricia M.

Yelp
The food was so yummy and the service was quick and the people were very friendly. We had the fried shrimp, the chowder, and the cod. All were cooked perfectly. Our family hopes to come here again.
google avatar

Hannah W.

Yelp
Just on the other side of bridge. You won't miss the "CRAB" sign out front. Went over lunch time and I expected the line to be longer. The line moves quickly and it only took about 10 minutes for my food to be ready. I had the cod fish & chips (three options of fish) and the fish was SO fresh. Like, came out of the water that morning fresh! I will be sure to come here anytime I'm in Newport!
google avatar

Aaron S.

Yelp
The long line was worth the wait! My wife had the clam chowder and it was very good! In my opinion it's better than Moe's Clam Chowder. My kids had the chicken strip, they came out super hot, crispy on outside and and juicy on the inside. I had the razor clam basket and they were very good! Just last weekend we were at the famous Malibu fish and chips spot and I think South beach was almost as good with the biggest edge going to Malibu for their frys. The fries at south beach are the thinner shoestring fries and I had not interest in eating more than a few. Overall I'd love to come back in the future!
google avatar

Cody H D.

Yelp
This place is legit for fresh fish as well as seafood cooked to order. I particularly liked the cod and halibut recently. Juicy, fresh, succulent seafruit. Their chowder was good although a bit too thick on a recent visit. It was like a custard consistency, didn't need to be so thick. (And if anybody knows me or has seen my Internet search history, they know I like me some thickness!) Very delicious tho and heavy on the clams. If you want to be a lazy fat ass like me, you can just buy a little cup of pre-shelled crab meat for their crab cocktail. Great service as well.
google avatar

Krystal F.

Yelp
This place is a true gem on the Oregon Coast! I discovered this place on my last trip to Newport, OR. I decided to stop here for lunch on my way out of town back to Portland. You may have to stand in a line, but it is very much worth it. South Beach Fish Market has a lot of fried food like fish and chip options. I decided to go with the crab sandwich instead. There was SO much fresh crab loaded in there that it kept falling out (not a bad problem to have). The fries were very good and on the crispy side. I decided to grab some fresh halibut to bring home for dinner that night. I was able to place both orders at the same time. The service was so quick! I let them know I had to drive a few hours to get home and they packed my halibut up with a ton of ice. There is no question that I will make South Beach Fish Market a regular stop when I am in the Newport area.

Lacey B.

Yelp
Delicious food, friendly staff. The cocktail is hot AF! Just a warning. But so delicious!
google avatar

Wina G.

Yelp
How mighty hath fallen! We stopped by for some razor clams expecting the good grub we've gotten in the past. What we got was super greasy (the kind that shines brightly in the sun) and super tough clams. I literally had to pull and chew to get a bite. The calamari was better- at least they were softer. We've been here other times recently and sometimes the clams were soft and sometimes tough. I'm sad because this was our favorite place to get clams on the coast.
google avatar

David F.

Yelp
Where do I begin? Well, the ambiance has that third world feel to it. Very outdated, a little dirty and disorganized with a tremendous need to have a professional upgrade. Service? Very mechanical. Get in line, place order and pay non-smiling cashier. Then wait while you swat flies buzzing around the tables (inside). Halibut and chips was so-so. The tarter sauce is nothing to shout about. The institutional fries needed salt. And the clam chowder had a (very) slight fishy taste to it. Fresh fish shouldn't. But , then again, it is was mostly a potato chowder. A "no" for me.
google avatar

Jay L.

Yelp
amazing fish and chips. you will always wanna go back for more. this is one stop if you live in newport or just visiting you will wanna eat at.

Eddie W.

Yelp
The greatest hits of tasty fried seafood with fries, coleslaw and all the standard condiments. It's not overcooked and the portions are generous....i had this for lunch 9 hours ago and I'm still not hungry again yet. As far as ambiance goes, it looks like a mother and daughter were either running the place or were employed there. Either way it gives it a family run atmosphere. It looks like a family corner store built 50 years ago, so it has charm in spades. Service was great! I offered to buy a whole lemon but they had them already sliced behind the counter. And we all know lemon juice and fried seafood go great together. There's table seating inside and outside.
google avatar

Frank J.

Yelp
This place can be absolutely insane on a Summer weekend but any time of year parking can be problematic and lines can be long (and move very slowly). Unless you are allergic, there is nothing in the market or the takeout booth that you won't like. I've tried lots of items and likely won't live long enough to sample everything. Nothing disappoints and I am from Boston where we are snobs when it comes to seafood. OK.... cod, haddock and flounder aren't really sea FOOD but.... What I'd LOVE would be to order something, sit and enjoy it nice and hot and then go back and order another item to leisurely enjoy. Rinse and repeat. Unfortunately, with the length of the lines, that would be about one item ever hour. There's lots of seafood options along 101 but I have to say that this is the best in terms of quality, freshness and variety. Bring your Mastercard.... not cheap but I only do this a couple of times a year so....

Yelp
Absolutely everything I've eaten here has been phenomenal, however, After a dozen visits over two years I can proudly say their House Smoked Chinook Candied Salmon is hands down the best food I've had in my life. I've gone back time and time again and even as price increases it's worth every single penny every single time. It's truly amazing. Eat it under cold pouring rain outside and you'll still never experience anything like it

Kathy B.

Yelp
We ate here twice. Fresh seafood fried right! I had fried calamari and chips both times and the calamari was great. Plenty of tentacles too. Husband got fried fish and chips. He said it was perfect. Both times. Friendly staff who know what they are doing. We got some coleslaw one of the times and it was tasty. Would go back here over and over.
google avatar

Ilona S.

Yelp
Halibut fish and chips. Fresh fish, great light batter, crisply fried to order. Absolutely delicious! Yes, the wait is worth it. We were here on a weekday and it took about 30 minutes total between waiting in line to order and receiving my order, not too bad. Great to eat at the picnic tables when the weather outside allows it, like today. The little market next door sells beer and cokes... just saying....
google avatar

Ariel M.

Yelp
Very good price for fish and chips! My portion was 7oz min of fish plus fries for $17.99. I like that they are battered light. The fish was over cooked however or I would rate 5/5. It's a bit of a gut bomb because the fries are soooo oily. But if you can handle fried food it's so worth it. If you are buying ahi it's much cheaper to buy from the docks but that's not for everyone.

Yelp
This review is based solely on my one and only experience. I ordered a shrimp sandwich, thinking I would get some deliciously seasoned shrimp, possibly grilled, with tasty sauce! What I got was an absolutely FLAVORLESS sandwich which consisted of what liked, felt, and tasted like canned salad shrimp, with ZERO seasoning, not even salt, on bread with Ranch dressing, lettuce and tomato. It was truly awful, and a total waste of money. I have no doubt some of their other dishes may be delicious, and admittedly I should have asked about the sandwich before ordering, but no matter how you slice it, this was a horrible $15 sandwich.
google avatar

Jeff A.

Yelp
This used to be my "go to" fish shop when visiting Newport/South Beach. On my last visit I noticed that they started selling 2nd Amendment merch. While I support the 2nd Amend. I DO NOT appreciate a business (a restaurant no less) that feels it necessary to foist their political opinions on others - whether invited or not. Stick to cooking and selling awesome food and keep your idealistic political opinions to yourself.
google avatar

Laura B.

Yelp
I have zero complaints about the quality of either the fresh fish or prepared fish and chips, but their prices are borderline outrageous. I am aware that all expenses have gone up, from paper products, to wages, to utilities but they are charging 15% - 30% more than other comparably sized fresh fish markets - including those an hour inland (theoretically they would have higher costs do to the transport needs). It's disappointing across the board, but seeing $3.50 listed for a large fountain soda is what pushed me to actually leave a review. After decades of patronage, I won't be back.
google avatar

Mike M.

Yelp
Best fish and chips in Newport hands down. Choices for combos on premium fish keeps variety on the table. Market prices are steep but worth it for the quality of fish and shellfish although better deals on crab abound on the other side of the bridge. Summer crowds have the line out the door to the street but a call-in order saves much of the wait time. It's a once a month highlight for us.
google avatar

Kitty H.

Yelp
We stopped by for an early dinner. I haven't been here in probably 10 years but I remember it being a locals' spot. Looks exactly the same. Still a dive and we hoped it would hit the spot for a quick dinner. We ordered the captain's plate- halibut, oysters, scallops, and prawns (come with fries) and a bowl of chowder. The fried fish was fine but nothing special. I would even say the halibut might have been overcooked. The chowder had very few clams, undercooked potato chunks, and it tasted fishy. It was so thick that a spoon literally could stand up in it. I couldn't finish it. I was really bummed that I didn't like it as much as I used to. Guess I'll have to find another places for fish and chips in Newport.

Yelp
This is a must stop on anyone's trip to the OR coast. During my trip to the coast, we stopped at the South Beach Fish Market, a small, local stop right off the main road. It's just south of Newport, OR. You can choose from a variety of fresh, local caught seafood and take it home to prep yourself or have them steam, boil, or fry it for you. The salmon was by far some of the best I've ever had as it was perfectly cooked, tender, and cubed into large pieces. The clam chowder and oyster shooter were not the best I've ever had but still really good. PSA, their shrimp cocktail aren't jumbo shrimp, but instead is a cup of the super tiny shrimp with their SPICY horseradish cocktail sauce. This is definitely a "hole-in-the-wall" local spot you must add to your next trip to the PNW!

Xt C.

Yelp
Our place to have fish and fry near Newport. We ordered ling cod, fish is juicy and tender inside and crisp outside, very fresh.
google avatar

Jodi M.

Yelp
Classic dive with many choices including smoked and fresh and fried choices. Shocking prices but apparently fish is expensive these days! I was happy with halibut fish and chips. The breading was light and fish flaky and fresh. I don't prefer the bread French fries but would come back for fish!!
google avatar

Timothy S.

Yelp
Ok. You look at the restaurant. It is a hole in the wall. But who cares. It has amazing food. 5 in our family. We all ordered something different and shared. Tender melt in your mouth salmon and halibut. Fresh calamari. All excellent. The clam powder was above average. I don't want ambiance as long as the food is excellent. Will go back again next time I'm in Newport.

Yelp
Consistently delicious delivering tasty fresh seafood. This is definitely our favorite go to place whenever we are staying close by. Camping at nearby Beverly beach we plan our meals around coming here. Several visits again this trip. Last night we ordered 4 Dungeness crabs for our early Valentines Dinner. They cook and clean the crab for you and send you on your way with the crab in ice. Today I had the Dungeness crab sandwich in Dave's killer bread is so fresh and tasty. There is absolutely no filler in this sandwich. Husband tried the scallops and chips this time since they were out of his favorite crab stuffed shrimp. It was a sufficient substitute. We will definitely be back again before Tuesday.

Yelp
What a gem of a spot. Super casual with a small kitchen next to a grocery store but a wide selection of as fresh as you can get seafood to be fried or cooked however you'd like. Constantly a line at this place but they go through the order fast. Our items were super fresh. Cocktail Crab was a hit, as well as the Tuna Sandwich. The seafood really shine through. Clam Chowder was alright; too thick and too much potatoes. Special shoutout to the Candied Salmon. I really enjoyed it! Wish we came here earlier in our trip so we could have tried more of their menu!

Yelp
We had the fish and chips, which had a unusual taste that neither of us liked. The batter was very light, but the flavor just wasn't there. The small amount of thin fries had a lot of oil on them. We both said would not go back.

Yelp
Best fish fry in Newport, lines long because it's worth it. We're locals and we go often.
